In the lesson on Abraham, we show how the life of individuals follow the laws of the Plan of Salvation.
In this series of lessons on the Torah, we show how the experience of the Hebrews models the Plan of Salvation.
In the previous lesson, God finds a people for Himself whom He intends to be priests to the nations.
In this lesson, He takes these people out of slavery to the Promised Land.
For this reason, the entire lesson is Messianic, because Jesus began an exodus that took the world out of slavery to sin into the Promised Land.
A Nation of Slaves: The Deliverer Leads The Great Escape
We are a nation of leper priests captured into slavery, and we are being rescued by the High Priest.
In the great escape, the forces of evil will not give up very easily, neither will the children of God cooperate.
- Moses the Deliverer is Born (Chapter 1-2).
Moses and Jesus Christ were deliverers of Israel.
Each was born as a child sent by God to deliver the children of God.
Both would lead Israel from the land of slavery through a wilderness into the Promised Land.
Both would stand between the wrath of God and the rebellious people as intercessors who were familiar with their human pain.
Both would eventually die because they were intimately linked to the sins of the people heaped unfairly on them.
- The Affliction of Slavery. Moses saved Israel from slavery in Egypt. Jesus Christ saves the world from slavery to sin and the tyranny of Satan.
Affliction.
And they made their lives bitter with hard labor in mortar and bricks and at all kinds of labor in the field, all their labors which they rigorously imposed on them.
(Exodus 1: 14)
- Drowning in the Sea. The turbulent wicked were overwhelming the world.
Drown in the Nile.
Then Pharaoh commanded all the people, saying, "Every son who is born you are to cast into the Nile, and every daughter you are to keep alive."
(Exodus 1: 22)
Jesus is the son who was killed and Israel was the woman who was kept alive as a slave.
- Three Periods of Time. Both were hidden in their youth from a leader who tried to kill them.
Pharaoh and Herod both wanted to kill the Jewish male babies.
Three Months.
The woman conceived and bore a son; and when she saw that he was beautiful [good], she hid him for three months.
(Exodus 2: 2)
Mary and Joseph fled to Egypt to protect Jesus.
If Jesus followed this time pattern, He may have been in Egypt for about three years.
The Ark of Safety.
But when she could hide him no longer, she got him a wicker basket and covered it over with tar and pitch. Then she put the child into it and set it among the reeds by the bank of the Nile.
(Exodus 2: 3)
- Weaned From Mother. Both would not begin their journey until they were separated from their mother.
Mother's Milk.
Then Pharaoh's daughter said to her, "Take this child away and nurse him for me and I will give you your wages." So the woman took the child and nursed him.
(Exodus 2: 9)
- The Commission (Chapter 3-4).
Both were called and equipped to complete the mission to save the children of God and glorify God in the process.
- The Calling. At a certain age, the deliverer must begin His mission. Jesus began at age 30 and Moses began at age eighty.
It is Time.
Therefore, come now, and I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.
(Exodus 3: 10)
- Miracle Worker. Both were given supernatural powers to display the glory of God. The powers give them the credentials to convince the children to follow them and put fear into the enemies.
Fear and Respect.
I will grant this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be that when you go, you will not go empty-handed.
But every woman shall ask of her neighbor and the woman who lives in her house, articles of silver and articles of gold, and clothing; and you will put them on your sons and daughters. Thus you will plunder the Egyptians.
(Exodus 3: 21-22)
- Signs of the Deliverer of Israel.
Exodus 4 gives three terrifying signs to convince the people.
- The Snake on the Rod. Jesus on the cross suffering for our sins like an evil man was meant to be a sign to Israel. He would take their sins from them.
- The Plague on the Hand. Jesus, treated as a leper and a despised man was meant to be a sign to Israel. He would remove the curses of sin for them.
The Two Witnesses.
If they will not believe you or heed the witness of the first sign, they may believe the witness of the last sign.
(Exodus 4: 8)
These are the two important signs that God gave Israel before Jesus died.
- Turning Water to Blood. This is the last of three signs meant to convince the people that God had sent a deliver to them. He would give them life. Blood and water poured from His side after He died.
However, it was the first of ten signs meant to warn Egypt that God would destroy them if they did not release Israel.
- The Son of God.
As Israel sinned, God told Moses that He would kill them and start anew with him.
Instead, Moses interceded for Israel. Jesus Christ did both. He interceded for them and became the righteous Seed through whom faithful children would be born.
Israel is My Son.
Then you shall say to Pharaoh, "Thus says the Lord, Israel is My son, My firstborn."
(Exodus 4: 22)
When Jesus died, He was the last faithful son of Israel. He became the Israel through whom all the covenants, oaths and promises will be kept.
Through Him God began a new race of people who must be born again out of Him.
Israel Turns To The God They Rejected

The Jews at the beginning did not grasp the snake by its head. They were terrified and they ran.
However, at the end of time the Jews will grasp the tail of the snake.
Moses Fled.
Then He said, "Throw it on the ground." So he threw it on the ground, and it became a serpent and Moses fled from it.
(Exodus 4: 3)
Israel also fled from Jesus when He became a snake on the cross after He was thrown down to the earth.
Moses Approached.
But the Lord said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand and grasp it by its tail" - so he stretched out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand -
They Will Believe. that they may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob has appeared to you.
(Exodus 4: 4-5)
Israel will believe that Jesus Christ appeared to the generation who fled from Him and that He is the God of their fathers when they approach the snake despite their fears and disgust and pick Him up at the end of time - or by His tail.
» The Snake Becomes A Rod.
When Israel picks up the fearful snake, it will become the Staff in their hands.
The great commission for the Jews is to free the world from slavery to sin by defeating the forces of the great serpent, the seven-headed dragon.
When they possess the Staff in their hands they will be a formidable force of good at the end of time.
This Staff is the Branch, the rod from the root of Jesse, the Rod of Aaron that can spring to life and it can become the Staff of Moses which became King of snakes which swallows all snakes.
It is the javelin in the hand of Joshua that defeats their enemies like Ai.
Taken literally, the signs must not only occur in Jesus Christ but they will occur in Israel at the end of time.
The last day Jews will have three signs that they must first recognize as occurring in Jesus Christ.
- The Snake on the Rod. They will recognize why Jesus was the Snake and they will grap Him by the tail.
Since 2000, God has shown this website how Jesus must correctly be seen as the snake on the cross.
- The Plague on the Hand. Then they will be healed of some sort of plague, probably on their hands.
- Turning Water to Blood. They will see water turn to blood or turn red. It is probably the waters of the Nile or the shores of the Nile.
However, if I look at New Testament images that show how these ancient nations are globalized, then it may also be the waters of France.
These events may not be an event from an unexpected natural disaster or an environmental accident. It may be part of a miraculous event that seems to predict that the miracles in Egypt will be repeated at the end of time as a testimony to glorify God to a secular and atheistic world.
- Red Sea Parts. We will reproduce the miracle of the parting of the Red Sea.
And the Lord shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with His mighty wind shall shake His hand over the river, and shall smite it in seven streams, and make men go over dryshod.
(Isaiah 11: 15)
- Nile Becomes Blood. So we will probably reproduce the miracle of turning the Nile into blood.
- Greater Miracles. According to the promise of power in the covenant (Exodus 34: 10), we will reproduce the miracles of the the past and do greater miracles that have never been seen before.
It sounds like a wild theory, but the Holy Spirit has never given me incorrect information.
When they see these strange events occurring around the same time that they are confronted with the evidence of Jesus being branded as a snake whom they avoided, they will pick Him up and examine Him.
Then they must understand that it is time for the mixed multitude of global Israel to be delivered.
- Pharaoh (Chapter 5-6).
God was very clear with Moses that the delivery would be a struggle, because Pharaoh would not give up easily.
Delivery by Force.
But I know that the king of Egypt will not permit you to go except under compulsion.
So I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt with all My miracles which I will do in the sight of it; and after that he will let you go.
(Exodus 4: 19-20)
- Rest and Worship. The first thing that Moses demanded a "chagag" was a time to rest and worship (Exodus 5: 1 -5), but Pharaoh did not want to give them rest.
Sabbath Worship.
And afterward Moses and Aaron came and said to Pharaoh, "Thus says the Lord, the God of israel, Let My people go that they may that they may celebrate a feast to Me in the wilderness."
Three Days. Then they said, "The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please, let us go a three days' journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God, otherwise He will fall upon us with pestilence or with the sword."
(Exodus 5: 1, 3)
- Rejection. Pharaoh beat their supervisors and took away the straw the he used to deliver to them, yet required that they produce the same amount of bricks.
So their situation became worse.
Greater Affliction.
So go now and work; for you will be given no straw, yet you must deliver the quota of bricks.
(Exodus 5: 18)
- The People Blame Moses.
One would think from the response of the people that they had expected Pharaoh to give up immediately and send them off with a parade and music and confetti.
Bitter Disappointment.
They said to them, "May the Lord look upon you and judge you, for you have made us odious in Pharaoh's sight and in the sight of his servants, to put a sword into their hand to kill us."
Then Moses returned to the Lord and said, "O Lord, why have you brought harm to this people? Why did you ever send me?
Ever since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done harm to this people, and You have not delivered your people at all."
(Exodus 5: 21-23)
However, God had told Moses that Pharaoh would not give up easily so the nation should have expected this response.
Like the disciples they refused to believe that the worst would happen.
Jesus kept telling the disciples that He would be handed over to the Gentiles and killed, but they ignored Him and did not believe Him.
When He was killed they forgot the rest of His message that He would rise again on the third day.
» The Other Side of Positive Thinking.
We seem to reject bad news when everything seems hopeful, the gurus of the modern world call it "positive thinking".
Yet, we reject good news when we experience hardship and we long for the familiar hopeless situation from which we escaped.
So what we really are is a people who are comfortable with the status quo as long as we can cling to the illusion that we are hopeful and positive.
- Nobody Believes Me. It is amazing to me that the leaders crumbled so quickly under the criticism of the people and the defiant response of Pharaoh.
Failing Mission.
But Moses spoke before the Lord saying, "Behold the sons of Israel have not listened to me, how then will Pharaoh listen to me, for I am unskilled in speech.
(Exodus 6: 12)
When Jesus went before the Romans for trial, the sons of Israel would not listen to Him and He was not simply unskilled in speech, He was silent.
Jesus came to give us rest from sin, yet we did not believe Him and rejected Him. So we killed Him so that the Romans would not accuse us of insurrection and upset the status quo.
» A Lesson For The Last Generation.
We, who are about to be delivered in a more spectacular rescue at the end of time, must learn a message from this. Like the pains of childbirth, the situation will get worse before we are delivered.
Just because we have the evidence of power and miracles on our side does not mean that people will respect or obey us.
The world will be openly defiant. Satan himself will personally participate in this last effort to destroy the children of God.
The churches will accuse us of being the Antichrist.
Church members who believed the tricks and failed healings of con artists will ignore obvious miracles all because they really do not want to give up their way of life or their beliefs.
Con men succeeded in entertaining them because they allowed them to live in sin while promising them prosperity.
In the end, they will cling to whoever promises them sin at little or no cost.
- The Ten Plagues (Chapter 7-11).
In the Garden of Gethsemane He made the acceptable offering to God that gave us the blessings.
After His arrest, He suffered all the curses for us. These curses are the plagues.
At the end of time, the wicked who reject Him will be punished by the Seven Last Plagues.
- Rod Became A Snake. The cross was the rod and He was the one who looked like a snake when He became sin.
But in becoming sin He healed Israel of their sins and swallowed up all the other snakes when He defeated Satan.
This remarkable symbol is explained in detail in another lesson.
- Water Became Blood. His sweat became blood and blood and water poured from His side.
- Frogs Came From The River. This must be a reference to the occult and demonic influences present at the crucifixion. Frogs are a symbol of unclean spirits and water is a symbol of people. The people were either possessed or influenced by the evil spirits.
- Dust Became Gnats. The people came up from the earth like gnats.
- Insects. They swarmed Him and surrounded Him like bees.
- Sores on Animals. The punches and whippings left marks and wounds on the Lamb of God.
- Soot Became Boils on Man and Animals. His body was swollen after nine hours of burning to ash.
Prophecy symbolizes Him as being in a fiery trial from which He emerged as ashes.
- Thunder, Rain and Hail. The sounds of the mob as they cursed, spit on Him and threw insults.
- Locusts. The Roman army arrested Him, beat Him and crucified Him. In the future they would destroy the land and the trees and kill millions of Jews.
- Darkness. There was darkness for three hours.
- Firstborn Dead. He was the firstborn Son of God and the firstborn son of Israel who was killed.
- The Day of Delivery (Chapter 13).
Many important events will occur on the day of delivery. Jesus delivered us on Nisan 14, on the day of the wavesheaf. The world will be delivered at the Second Coming.
- Signs on the Hand and Forehead. The Jews wear a square leather box strapped to their hand and forehead. It has a copy of the law inside.
Here we see that Passover is meant to do the same thing.
Passover as Tefillin.
And it shall serve as a sign to you on your hand, and as a reminder on your forehead, that the law of the Lord may be in your mouth; for with a powerful hand the Lord brought you out of Israel.
(Exodus 13: 9)
They are signs that the law is in our minds and hearts because we are loyal and will love and serve a powerful God who can deliver us.
This is why Jesus told us to remember Him when we eat the seder.
- Redemption. The Lamb of God redeems the stubborn man. If such a man refuses to be redeemed then his neck will be broken, like Pharaoh.
Redeeming the Sinners.
But every first offspring of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb, but if you do not redeem it, then you shall break its neck; and every firstborn of man among your sons you shall redeem.
(Exodus 13: 13)
The unclean, stubborn donkey becomes the sons of God who are redeemed.
- Resurrection. We will take our dead with us. Many people were resurrected at both the death and resurrection of Jesus.
All the righteous will be resurrected at the Second Coming.
Taking Our Dead.
Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for he had made the sons of Israel solemnly swear, saying, "God will surely take care of you, and you shall carry my bones from here with you."
(Exodus 13: 19)
- Pharaoh Destroyed (Chapter 14).
The destruction of Pharaoh at the delivery of Israel models the defeat of Amalek by Moses, the defeat of Satan by Jesus on the cross and the destruction of Ai by Joshua and the rescue at the Second Coming.
- Division. A division occurs to allow the people to escape through the wicked.
A Path Through The Sea.
As for you, lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, and the sons of Israel will go through the midst of the sea on dry land.
(Exodus 14: 16)
After the crucifixion God not only divided the world, He separated His people into two groups destined to form an ambush against the kingdom of Satan at the end of time.
- Hands Stretched Out To Save. The deliverer must keep His hands stretched out and held up to save us.
- Moses Defeats Pharaoh (Staff). Moses had a staff in his hand stretched out over the Red Sea until the army was drowned.
- Moses Defeats Amalek (Staff). He also had his hands lifted up until Joshua defeated the Amalekites. When he lowered his tired hands the Amalekites began to win, so he had help to keep his hands lifted up.
- Joshua Defeats Ai (Javelin). Joshua held a javelin stretched out in his hands until the ambush against Ai was completed and the city was burned.
- Jesus Defeats Satan (Cross). Jesus' hands were stretched out and nailed on the cross so they had to stay up until Satan was defeated.
If we remember the previous lesson in Genesis where we talked about decreasing flight distance, then this stretching out of the hand is critical.
The intercessor cannot let His hands fall when they are stretched out in a gesture to welcome those who are afraid and want to run away.
- Escape. The children of God escape while God holds back the forces of evil.
Birth Through The Waters.
The sons of Israel went through the midst of the sea on dry land, and the waters were like a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
(Exodus 14: 22)
At the end of time, God holds back the "winds of strife" until the righteous are sealed (Revelation 7: 1-3).
- Ambush. With hands still stretched out, the enemies are defeated by the forces of God.
Defeat.
Then the Lord said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the waters may come back over the Egyptians, over their chariots and their horsemen."
(Exodus 14: 26)
Passover (Chapter 12).
This first Passover is a prophecy of the final Passover.

- Nisan 10: Selected On Palm Monday.
The people selected Jesus as their king on Nisan 10 when he rode through the gates of Jerusalem on a donkey.
Since the daylight hours of Nisan 10 were on Monday, He must have ridden through the gates of Jerusalem on that day when the people hailed Him as their King.
There is no Palm Sunday ride because that would have been night.
Preaching that He resurrected on Sunday and made this historic ride on Sunday,
in our eagerness to promote Sunday as a day of significance we somehow missed this.
Lamb Selected.
Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying, "On the tenth of this month they are each one to take a lamb for themselves, according to their fathers' households, a lamb for each household."
(Exodus 12: 3)
- Nisan 14-21: The Feast Of Unleavened Bread.
The Last Supper has been described as the Passover Seder, yet how could Jesus and the disciples eat the Passover meal before the Passover Lamb was slain?
How did they eat the Passover on Thursday Nisan 14 when the Jews would celebrate it at sundown the next day, Friday night Nisan 15 after killing it in the mid-afternoon of Nisan 14?
Were there two meals?
How could the events of the fifteenth occur on the fourteenth?
This chapter shows the reason.
Jesus ate bread for the Passover with the disciples as the scriptures commanded on Nisan 14 (Leviticus 23) and began the seven-day Feast of Unleavened Bread on the "second evening" of Nisan 14 when Jesus became the broken bread during the cosmic spiritual seder.
The Lord's Passover.
In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord's passover.
And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.
(Leviticus 23: 5-6)
So the event that happened in the upper room was the Lord's Passover.
However, Exodus seems to suggest that the feast of Unleavened bread lasted eight days while Leviticus describes this time as seven days following "the Lord's Passover"
The Last Supper.
In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.
(Exodus 12: 18)
Then something amazing happened to make the impossible occur so that the Passover prophecies were fulfilled in one day when Nisan 14 merged with Nisan 15.
He was the Lamb of God. He was the meat that they ate in haste at night so that the wrath of God could pass over Israel.
- Crucified. Jesus was with them from Nisan 10-14, as the Passover Lamb selected on the tenth, teaching in the synagogue until He was crucified on Nisan 14 at 9:00 AM (Mark 15: 25). Then between 12:00 and 3:00 PM (twilight) darkness descended (Mark 15: 33). He died afterwards, at the same time the Passover lamb was being killed to be eaten at sundown Friday night, Nisan 15.
John proves that they had not eaten the Passover when He was on trial.
Passover Not Eaten At The Time Of The Trial.
Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.
(John 18: 28)
Killed.
You shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month, then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel is to kill it at twilight.
(Exodus 12: 6)
The entire congregation had gathered for Passover to observe the death and later celebrated the seder with the events of the day still in their minds.
- Grilled In A Fiery Trial. The night of the trials, the priests and the people symbolically roasted Him and ate Him later on in the day when they were mocking Him.
Roasting and Eating.
They shall eat the flesh the same night, roasted with fire, and they shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
(Exodus 12: 8)
- Eaten With Bitter Herbs. The bitterness of the experience as they villified Him.
- Unleavened Bread. He was the unleavened bread because there was no sin in Him.
- Eat Standing Up (Verse 11). They were standing at the cross with shoes on and staff in hand.
- Eat In Haste (Verse 11). He died quickly.
- Firstborn Killed (Verse 12). Jesus was the firstborn who was smitten. He was the God in Egypt (land of sin) who was judged.
- Remove All Leaven (Verse 15). Leaven was put away the first day. Jesus had removed all sin in Gethsemane so that there was no sin in the camp by the time of the crucifixion.
- Flesh Eaten "That Same Night".
Normally if day and night follow each other as scheduled, that would have been Nisan 15 when the Passover seder was eaten at sunset on Friday.
Gossiping about Jesus and the events that just occurred, the Jews still "ate" Jesus as they were eating their seder.
Notice the precise wording of this verse, "they shall eat the flesh in the same night ...".
The verse does not say on Nisan 15, it says "the same night".
When darkness came at noon the conditions were met for "night", which is the dark part of the day by definition!
The Passover Seder began to be eaten at "night" when they mocked and spit on Him and gnashed Him with their teeth.
» The Covenant With The Night Was Broken (Evening Comes At Noon!)
God was about to break the covenant with unrighteous Jacob and begin the new covenant with righteous Israel.
The Covenant With The Night.
If you can break my covenant with the night, so that day and night not come at their appointed time, then also my covenant with David my servant may be broken, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne, and my covenant with the Levitical priests my ministers.
(Jeremiah 33: 20-21)
» Darkness At Noon
This was not a normal solar eclipse, it was something else.
Solar eclipses do not last for three hours of total darkness and they cannot occur during a full moon, only a new moon.
Nisan 14-15 was a full moon, the worst possible conditions for a solar eclipse.
God had changed the fixed order by processes unknown and never since repeated.
The Fixed Order Departs.
Thus says the Lord Who gives the sun for light by day and the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, Who stirs up the sea so that the waves roar; the Lord of hosts is His name.
If this fixed order departs from before Me, says the Lord, then the offspring of Israel also will cease from being a nation before me forever.
(Jeremiah 31: 35-37)
For three hours God made the fixed order depart, so Jesus could change the covenant.
- Israel Rejected. Old Israel was rejected for the nation of faith.
- New Priesthood. Levi was rejected for Melchizadek.
- New King. He is the King from the tribe of Judah, but other tribes are now kings.
The new and better covenant was renewed with Israel with better promises.
The Lord's Passover is a mini version or prophecy of what would happen to Him during the next 24 hours.
When the Jews sat down to eat their meal the next night they should have recognized by recent experience the fulfillment in which they had just acted a part and fully experienced with their own eyes and ears and emotions.
The entire set of events was the fulfillment of the Passover. When He was resurrected the day after, they had another six days of this feast to celebrate the rebuilding and the inauguration of the spiritual sanctuary in heaven so that when Jesus returned the next week it would have been a glorious start for the nation of Israel.
» A Unique Day. This is the day that the yoke of sin was broken.
Jesus was a man in labor, giving birth to the church.
Unprecedented Events.
Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?
Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.
For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:
(Jeremiah 30: 6-8)
» Merging Time.
Jesus was also the Lord's goat selected on the tenth with the Passover Lamb, beginning the final Passover and the final Day of Atonement on the same day.
On that same day He began fulfilling the week of the Feast of Tabernacles and the people responded to Him with images from the Feast of Tabernacles. He had come to live with them.
All three feasts from separate months were now merging into one because the sacrifice slain for those feasts must occur only once.
Why did God separate these feasts across months and across days only to merge them at the cross?
Jesus alone fulfilled the events of Nisan 14 so all events must align with this. Only His works consecrated the events of the Passover.
However, we have a part to play in the rest of the feasts and their placement is an indication of when we would fulfill them.
The Jews had to play their part in the events of Nisan 15 at the Passover Seder.
The church at the end of time will play out the second half of Yom Kippur when the real scapegoat appears to them in a false Second Coming.
Jesus tabernacled with them until the fourteenth. At Pentecost the Holy Spirit came to tabernacle with us.
They must also welcome God at the real final Feast of Tabernacles.
This means that the Jews had their symbolic scapegoat types on that day just as they had their symbolic Tabernacles. Judas and Barabbas were the scapegoats.
In addition, their own prophecies confirm that their failure at Passover will be revisited when they get to recognize the Messiah through the coming of "Elijah" in the end of days because of Passover or during Passover.
- Kibrothhattaavah: Meat For Two Days (Numbers 11: 31-33). God gave them quail two cubits high for a month. It fell around then within two days journey, one day on either side of them.
This was the unique two days in which God gave them quail.
They stood up all that day and night and the next day chewing on Jesus.
Then the Lord smote Jesus with a very great plague.
God buried the people that lusted (Adam and Eve) that day when He paid for their sin of eating fruit from the forbidden tree.
This time the forbidden fruit is cannibalism.
- Blood On The Cross. Blood was on the two bars of wood used to make the cross and on the titulus nailed at the top.
Splattered Blood.
Moreover, they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses in which they eat.
(Exodus 12: 7)
- Not Sodden With Water (Drained Of Water). He was not sodden with water because water poured out of Him at death and the Holy Spirit departed.
No Water.
Do not eat any of it raw or boiled [sodden] at all with water, but rather roasted with fire, both its head and its legs along with its entrails.
(Exodus 12: 9)
He was also not boiled in "water" because most of the people, symbolized by water, were not at the trial in the Sanhedrin.
- In Haste. The plans were executed in haste. He died quickly and was buried quickly.
Normally, the crucifixion victim took several days to day, so the Romans would break their legs to hasten death.
With the difficulty of breathing on the cross, pushing up and down with the legs and arms allowed the victim to breathe.
Breaking the legs caused them to have no such assistance.
Eaten With Haste.
And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord's passover.
(Exodus 12: 11)
While He was naked they "ate" him standing up, besieging the cross with their clothes on and their staff in hand.
- The Egyptian. As a child Jesus went to live in Egypt so that the prophecy would be fulfilled that He would "come out of Egypt".
Now that He is on the cross, He once again symbolizes Israel in the land of sin and slavery - Egypt.
Firstborn Killed In Egypt.
For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.
(Exodus 12: 12)
Judgment was executed against Him and as a firstborn Son He was killed.
As a firstborn beast, He was the Lamb of God slaughtered for us.
In The Land Of Egypt.
And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
(Exodus 12: 13)
He was not only the man of sin, He was the land of sin as He suffered the plagues and wrath as the one who bore all sins.
- The One Man Army Of God.
The Roman army and a mob of angry people came to arrest Him, yet He is symbolized here and in another prophecy as the head of the army of God who would come out and raid His enemies.
So far, as the leader of the army all His volunteers fled and went home because they were afraid and were not acquainted with the weapons of this warfare.
So their leader was captured.
Armies.
And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance for ever.
(Exodus 12: 17)
- Seven Days.
When Solomon dedicated the temple in the fall the feast lasted one week then they celebrated another week from Tishri 10-13 (2 Chronicles 7: 9-10).
In this intricate fulfillment Jesus would also celebrate two weeks, once on earth and then in heaven. After the resurrection He spent one week in heaven before returning the next Sunday on Nisan 23.
Notice that the feasts of these two months overlapped from the tenth (the selection of the Lord's Goat for Yom Kippur and the selection of the Passover Lamb to the end of Tabernacles and the feast of Unleavened bread) on Simchat Torah (Tishri 23).
The five days of building the sukkah, between Tishri 10 and 15 corresponded to the five days between Nisan 10 and 15 when Jesus was building a relationship with the house of Israel who had selected Him as their king.
The feast of unleavened bread occurred during this time.
Seven Days.
Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.
(Exodus 12: 19)
- Sanhedrin. The Sanhedrin, a group of the national leaders and priests, orchestrated this death.
Killed By The Elders.
Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.
(Exodus 12: 21)
- Whipped With A Bunch of Rods. They beat Him with whips and His blood poured out on the streets of Jerusalem. The people did not leave Jerusalem until Passover was over.
The Roman Flagellum.
You shall take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood which is in the basin, and apply some of the blood that is in the basin to the lintel and the two doorposts; and none of you shall go outside the house the door of this house until morning.
(Exodus 12: 22)
- Mixed Multitude. The Romans were with the Jews just as the Egyptians were with them on the exodus.
A Large Mob.
A mixed multitude also went up with them, along with flocks and herds, a very large number of livestock.
(Exodus 12: 38)
- Riches And Favor. When Israel left Egypt they took some of the wealth.
Borrowed.
And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment:
(Exodus 12: 35)
Favors Granted.
And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.
(Exodus 12: 36)
They were granted favor by the Romans and received the body of Jesus from the Romans to be buried.
Then He was embalmed in hundreds of pounds of spices and buried in the borrowed grave of a rich man.
He was even given the royal purple robes of a king so that they could mock Him.
- Sun Worship To Sabbath.
Ramses means "begotten of Ra, the sun god".
Succoth is the first place they camped after leaving Egypt, it means "tabernacle" or "booths" a temporary dwelling place where they lived under the direct protection of God.
So they left the sun gods of Egypt to go and live with YHWH for the purpose of keeping a Sabbath.
They were becoming sons of the only and true God - YHWH.
Ramses to Succoth.
And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.
(Exodus 12: 37)
- 430 "Years" Of Sin.
I know that this is a significant time prophecy but I have no light on this yet.
It seems to be related to the 490 year prophecy of Daniel.
It could even be 4300 years since sin began and this is the time it ends on the anniversary of Lucifer's rebellion in heaven or Adam and Eve's sin.
The Time Of Slavery.
Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.
And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt.
(Exodus 12: 40-41)
- Slaves and Foreigners. No uncircumcised foreigners could eat it, yet He was given to the Romans.
The Dinner Guests.
The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, "This is the ordinance of the Passover: no foreigner is to eat of it;
but every man's slave purchased with money, after you have circumcised him, then he may eat of it."
(Exodus 12: 43-44)
Jesus was the circumcised slave of the priests because they had bought Him with thirty pieces of silver.
- The Uncircumcised.
In this age of political correctness, "love" and inclusion we forget that this solemn ceremony is only for the believer.
A person must have their hearts circumcised and renounce sin, accept Jesus Christ and join the covenant people if he or she wants to eat this meal.
Not For Foreigners.
And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the Lord, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
(Exodus 12: 48)
- No Broken Bone. His bones were dislocated but they were never broken.
He stayed within the "house of Israel" by being in Jerusalem on top of that mountain, next to the temple.
The House of Israel.
It is to be eaten in a single house; you are not to bring forth any of the flesh outside the house, nor are you to break any bone of it.
(Exodus 12: 46)
The Fugitives: The Slave Mentality
The next set of events are a series of wonderful actions by God to introduce Himself to His people.
He brought food and water by a miracle and introduced them to the Sabbath of rest. Then He came personally with a covenant.
However, the story is tainted by the response of the people.
They reacted with fear and ingratitude and wanted to return to their slavery.
They were rebelling on the same basis by which their parents fell.
The season of miracles did not impress them.
They were still slaves to the lusts of their flesh and the lusts of their eyes. They wanted food and they wanted it now!
- On The Road To Sinai (Chapter 15)
- Rejoicing. Moses sang a song about the victory at the sea. Then Miriam led the women with music and dancing.
This should have been the response of Israel on the night after the crucifixion and the resurrection morning.
The Song of Moses.
Your right hand, O Lord, is become glorious in power; Your right hand, O Lord, has dashed in pieces the enemy.
And in the greatness of Your excellency you have overthrown them that rose up against You. You sent forth Your wrath which consumed them like stubble.
Fear and dread shall fall upon them by the greatness of Your arm they shall be as a stone; till they people pass over, O Lord, till the people pass over which you have purchased.
You shall bring them in and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, in the place, O Lord, which You have made for Yourself to dwell in, in the sanctuary, O Lord, which Your hands have established.
(Exodus 15: 6-7, 16-17)
The Song of Miriam.
And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.
(Exodus 15: 20)
Mary Magdalene was a woman who played a pivotal role. She anointed Him for death and she was the first to see Him after the resurrection and brought the good news to the men.
- Affliction. After only three days they complained because they were thirsty. None of the spectacular rescue only three days before influenced their behavior.
Thirsty.
So Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness and found no water.
(Exodus 15: 22)
Marah (Bitterness).
And when they came to Marah they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter; therefore the name of it was called Marah.
(Exodus 15: 23)
The Thirsty Complain.
And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?
(Exodus 15: 24)
The experience at Marah was the three days of bitterness that Jesus experienced. During those days they struck the Rock and water poured out of His side.
- Healing. God made a law to show us how we can be healed. If we obey Him, He will show us a tree that heals.
The Healing Tree.
And he cried unto the Lord and the Lord showed him a tree, which when he had cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them.
And said, If you will diligently harken to the voice of the Lord your God, and will do that which is right in his sight, and will give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon you which I have put upon the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.
(Exodus 15: 25-26)
The cross was the healing tree where Jesus took on all of our diseases.
- Rest. Then they had rest until they went to Sinai to meet God.
Elim.
And they came to Elim where were 12 springs of water and 70 palm trees and they camped there by the waters.
(Exodus 15: 27)
Somehow the Sabbath rest in the grave represents Elim. The springs of life came out of His body on the cross.
The bitterness could now be made into a sweet life. The 70 nations and 12 tribes of Israel could have rest.
- Manna Falls in the Wilderness of Sin (Chapter 16).
One month after they left Egypt they were complaining. They were hungry.
God sent bread from heaven that pointed to eternal life.
- Complaining. Again they disrespected God because of their lust for food. Legitimate or not, the awesome displays of power to gain their trust should have inspired faith to trust God.
Longing for Slavery.
The whole congregation of the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness.
The sons of Israel said to them, "Would that we had died by the Lord's hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, when we ate bread to the full; for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger."
(Exodus 16: 2-3)
- Food From God. God gave them a supernatural answer to their hunger.
God as Chef.
Then the Lord said to Moses, "Behold I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people will go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may test them, whether or not they will walk in My law."
(Exodus 16: 4)
- Bread From Heaven. Jesus Christ is the Bread of Life sent from heaven.
Meat and Bread.
And the Lord spoke to Moses saying, "I have heard the grumblings of the sons of Israel; speak to them saying, At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread; and you shall know that I am the Lord your God."
(Exodus 16: 11-12)
Quail and Manna.
So it came about at evening that the quails came up and covered the camp, and in the morning there was a layer of dew around the camp.
When the layer of dew evaporated, behold, on the surface of the wilderness there was a fine flake-like thing, fine as the frost on the ground.
They gathered it morning by morning, every man as much as he should eat; but when the sun grew hot it would melt.
(Exodus 16: 13-14, 21)
Notice that both quails and bread were sent.
The sacrificial laws also required that they should eat roasted meat and bread.
At the crucifixion, they also ate meat and bread.
Jesus gave them broken bread in the morning when He came out of Gethsemane.
When they put Him on trial they were roasting the meat and the grain.
When He was hung on the cross at twilight they were grinding the meat between their teeth.

- Melt. Jesus "melted" in the heat of the noon day sun and God sent the shade of darkness at noon.
- Bred Worms. The disobedient ones did not follow the rules.
In the giving of the bread, He was also teaching them about the Sabbath of rest.
There is no preservation or restoration of life outside of the Sabbath.
Worms.
But they did not listen to Moses, and some left part of it until morning, and it bred worms and became foul; and Moses was angry with them.
(Exodus 16: 20)
- No Worms.
Jesus died and rested on the Sabbath. God preserved the life of the Bread of Heaven so that no worms infested Him during the Sabbath, then He came back to life the next day.
Life Promised in the Rest.
Now on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each one. When all the leaders of the congregation came and told Moses,
Then he said to them, "This is what the Lord meant: Tomorrow is a Sabbath observance, a holy Sabbath to the Lord. Bake what you will bake and boil what you will boil, and all that is left over put aside to be kept until morning".
So they put it aside until morning, as Moses had ordered, and it did not become foul nor was there any worm in it.
(Exodus 16: 22-24)
Those who enter into Sabbath rest will be given life.
This may be a warning prophecy about the issues at the end of time.
God taught the people about the importance of Sabbath during the forty years in the wilderness.
During the 2000 years in our wilderness journey, the people are being taught to ignore the Sabbath.
- Forty Years. They ate the manna until they entered the Promised Land.
We will eat the Passover seder for forty periods of time until we reach the New Jerusalem.
- Water From The Rock (Chapter 17).
Rephidim means "places of rest". The cross is our place of rest from sin.
However, like our ancestors, we quarreled with God and we cursed Him, and we hurled harsh words at Him like stones, and we struck God until blood and water poured out of His side.
- Complaining. At Rephidim they quarreled about water. At Sinai we mocked and quarreled with Jesus.
We are Thirsty!
Therefore the people quarreled with Moses and said, "Give us water that we may drink."
And Moses said to them, "Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the Lord?"
So Moses cried out to the Lord, saying, "What shall I do to this people? A little more and they will stone me."
(Exodus 17: 2, 4)
- Water From The Rock. Jesus is the Rock that we struck at Calvary to release the Water of Life, the Holy Spirit.
We Struck God.
Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock at Horeb; and you will strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink." And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
(Exodus 17: 6-7)
- Waters Drowned The Antediluvians. While Noah and his family were saved, the rest perished.
- Waters Killed Pharoah's Army.
After Israel crossed over the sea, Moses stretched out his hands and caused the Red sea to close over the advancing army of Pharoah.
- Hands Lifted Up. Joshua defeated Amalek while Aaron and Hur held up Moses' hands.
Jesus Christ defeated Satan when His hands were stretched out and held up by nails on the cross. Lowering His hands would have meant defeat. So His hands were nailed fast, making it impossible for Him to lose while He had nobody to assist Him.
Then living waters gushed from His side.
Hands Held Up.
So it came about when Moses held his hand up, that Israel prevailed, and when he let his hand down, Amalek prevailed.
But Moses' hands were heavy. Then they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side and one on the other. Thus his hands were steady until sunset.
So Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
(Exodus 17: 11-13)
He was our Lord, stretched out like a banner and lifted up on the cross to defeat our perpetual enemies.
The Lord is Our Banner.
Moses built an altar and named it "The Lord is my banner" [Jehovah Nissi].
He said, "For hands were lifted up to the throne of the LORD [for the Lord has sworn]. The LORD will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation."
(Exodus 17: 15-16)
- God Hated Amalek. Why does God hate Amalek forever?
God also "hated Esau" but "loves Jacob".
Love And Hate And Vengeance.
I have loved you, saith the Lord. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the Lord: yet I loved Jacob,
And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.
(Malachi 1: 2-3)
It is a symbol of what happened to the earth for the children of Adam and what happens to the wicked in the Millennium and God's promise to help us hate sin.
- A Promise Of Perpetual Enmity.
It was in Genesis 3: 15 where we saw God promised the children of Eve enmity with the seed of Satan.
This is untimately a promise of enmity with sin.
- The Sins Of Adam And Esau. They both sold the birthright of their children for food.
This was a prophecy that a second son will restore the birthright.
- The Third Generation. The third generation of the wicked were at war with God and finally came under judgment according to the second commandment.
However the first son and his third generation like Cain and his sons, Ham and Nimrod, Esau and Amalak were still at war with God.
A Covenant Of Truce.
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
(Exodus 20: 5-6)
This is a promise of restoration if we return to God in love.
» The Righteous. Adam and Seth, Noah and Shem, Jacob and his sons obeyed God.
- Desolation: Land Of The Dragons. The punishment will be desolation of the land and their destruction.
The land will be given to Satan - the dragon.
The planet was given to Satan at the fall and the earth was cursed for the sake of Adam. It was further devastated by the flood after sin took control.
At the millennium, the dragon will inherit an extremely desolate and broken earth, unpopulated by humans.
This punishment of desolation and then annihilation is ultimately aimed at Satan.
» Amalek's Perpetual Hatred.
It seems as if the line of Esau down to the third generation, is a type of those who hate God.
Then he hated Jacob because he had lost the blessing to the younger son.
- Grandson of Esau. Amalek was the grandson of Esau. He was the seventh son of Eliphaz, the firstborn son of Esau and son of a concubine.
Esau - Eliphaz - Amalek.
And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau's son; and she bare to Eliphaz Amalek: these were the sons of Adah Esau's wife.
(Genesis 36: 12)
- Despised God And The Birthright.
Esau sold his inheritance for food, despising it as useless.
.
And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.
(Genesis 27: 41)
Notice the similarity between Adam and Esau.
Esau was not tricked, Jacob tricked his father with the help of his mother, Rebekah.
Eve was tricked into sin and enticed him to eat, but Adam gave away his inheritance and that of his children, willingly for the love of a woman. He deliberately sinned and did not consider the consequences.
Eve also sinned and was the cause of her husband sinning, just as Rebekah caused her son to sin.
Everybody paid for their sins.
Everybody was banished and enslaved.
» A New Seed.
Adam sinned for love and everybody sold out for food.
However, a promise of enmity was made to her seed against the seed of the wicked. The promised was not made to Adam's seed.
A different seed, Jesus Christ, will be the second Son of God - the second Adam who loved us sinners.
- Three Generations.
Two son's struggled in two mothers. The firstborn would attack the second born and it was the third generation in which the issue would be resolved.
Cain killed Abel and God gave Ever a third son, Seth who became the father of a righteous generation.
Esau despised Jacob and his grandson Amalek permanemtly tried to kill the third generations of Jacob.
Nimrod was the third generation of Ham who built Babel.
- A Mighty Enemy Of God. Like Nimrod, Amalek became the first of a mightly nation against God.
The First Superpower.
And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; but his latter end shall be that he perish for ever.
(Numbers 24: 20)
Nimrod built the tower of Babel and then the great cities like Babylon.
Babylon the Great, the cities of the end-time wicked world will also perish.
God appears to discourage the building of cities because it leads to aggression, war and savery.
- Attacks The Children Of God.
There will be permanent war between the children of God and the wicked, typified as Amalek like those at the forces of the Battle of Armageddon in the final persecution before the Second Coming.
In this example God did not help Israel because they disobeyed.
Wicked Attack.
Then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites which dwelt in that hill, and smote them, and discomfited them, even unto Hormah.
(Numbers 14: 45)
Enemies Forever.
For he said, Because the Lord hath sworn that the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.
(Exodus 17: 16)
- Millennium: Heritage Given To Dragons. Why does God destroy their land?
Satan inherits the wasteland while we have rest for a millennuim, then we will take revenge.
Final Judgment.
Therefore it shall be, when the Lord thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.
(Deuteronomy 25: 19)
- The Final Battle of Armageddon. Revenge can finally be taken against the wicked.
We remember their deeds in the land of slavery when we sit in judgment against them during and after the millennium.
The wicked attack us while we are leaving the land of sin. We are witnesses.
Coming Out Of Slavery.
Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt;
(Deuteronomy 25: 17)
- The Borders Of Israel.
While we are in the New Jerusalem and fire rains down all around the borders of Global Israel.
The Lord will be magnified because all sinners will be gone and then God creates a new earth around the borders of the eternal city.
A Glorious Creation.
Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the Lord of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the Lord hath indignation for ever.
And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The Lord will be magnified from the border of Israel.
(Malachi 1: 4-5)
- Jethro: Priest of Midian (Chapter 18).
At this point his father-in-law visited him, bringing his wife and two sons.
He was a priest of God who gave Moses some sound advice.
What is most interesting about this chapter is the names of the people.
- Jethro (His Excellence or His Posterity). Jethro also seems to be a high priest after whom Jesus is modeled.
His excellent sacrifice will ensure His posterity.
» Reuel (Shepherd). Jethro also had another name which describes Jesus, the good shepherd.
» Melchizedek (King of Justice).
Jesus' priesthood is modeled after Melchizedek, the priest of God and king of Salem.
Salem means "perfect peace".
Jesus is a priest and king of Jerusalem, the city of peace.
He is also the great judge at the end of time, becoming a king of justice.
- Moses (Drawn Out). Jesus is the one taken out of heaven to come to earth as a baby.
- Gershom (Sojourner in a Foreign Land). He came to earth as a stranger from a very foreign land - heaven.
- Eliezer (My God is Help). While on earth He learned to trust God as His helper. God delivered Him from the twisted plans of Satan.
Helper.
The other was named Eliezer, for he said, "The God of my father was my help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh."
(Exodus 18: 4)
It was so important to have a helper so that we would not be alone that Jesus appointed the Holy Spirit to be our helper and comforter.
- Zipporah (Beauty, Trumpet, Mourning). His wife's name symbolized the atmosphere on that day.
The trumpet signaled the day of judgment which was a new beginning.
She was the one who circumcised her sons because Moses did not. Israel was the mother who circumcised Jesus, by cutting Him off at the cross.
- Judging the People. Jethro gave Moses advice on judging the people which is a model of what Jesus did with the church.
Jesus Christ: The High Priest.
Now listen to me and I will give you counsel, and God be with you. You be the people's representative before God, and you bring the disputes to God,
Holy Spirit. then teach them the statutes and the laws, and make known to them the way in which they are to walk and the work they are to do.
144,000 Apostles. Furthermore, you will select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you will place these men over them as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens.
(Exodus 18: 19-21)
- The High Priest. Jesus Christ is the intercessor who represents us before God.
- Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will teach us the statutes and laws by writing them on our hearts.
- 144,000. He appointed apostles to lead the church. At the end of time 144,000 of them will be appointed to lead the twelve tribes during the final evangelism and persecution.
- God Comes To Mount Sinai (Chapter 19). God came down in fire on Sinai just as the Holy Spirit came in fire at Pentecost (Shavu'ot).
In the third month after the crucifixion, the Holy Spirit came in fire and wind on Shavu'ot to give gifts to the disciples.
Jewish tradition also says that God came down to Mount Sinai on Shavu'ot.
- The Cherubim at Calvary With The Ark of the Covenant.
The cherubim are creatures with four faces who carry the throne of God, which is a picture of the ark of the covenant.
On Mount Sinai we see a picture of the Most Holy Place on the Day of Atonement.
Carried on The Wings of Eagles.
You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings, and brought you to Myself.
(Exodus 19: 4)
Lifted up on Mount Calvary, with His arms stretched out on the cross and looking like an unclean man, Jesus Christ was lifting us up on the wings of an eagle.
In the picture of the cherubim is the eagle.
He was the Son of Man, the wings of the eagle, the sacrificed ox and the lion of Judah.
He was carrying the Ark of the Covenant. He is the Angel of God with four faces.
- The High Priest of A Nation of Priests. He became the head of the nation of priests. Our great High Priest stood between us and God to intercede for us.
A Holy Priesthood.
Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine.
and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel.
(Exodus 19: 5-6)
- The Third Day.
Then the High priest came out to tell us the Good News.
On the third day after the crucifixion, the Lord came to Jerusalem after He was resurrected to give us the Good News, the Gospel of the Plan of Salvation to a frightened and demoralized group of disciples hiding in fear.
Consecrated.
The Lord also said to Moses, "Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments;
and let them be ready for the third day, for on the third day the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.
(Exodus 19: 10-11)
Jesus consecrated them over two days.
- Washed in Blood. On the first day, He died on the cross.
- Washed in Water. On the second day He rested in the tomb, but He was somehow exonerated that day because He was released from prison with clean garments so that He could appear to us on the third day.
During the second day our garments were washed.
Zechariah prophesied about a priest, Joshua, who was dressed in filthy garments as he approached God in judgment and Satan stood in condemnation.
God gave him clean clothes and rebuked Satan.
This is the washing of the garments and the consecration.
While Moses was on the mountain, the people imagined conspiracies and said Moses must be dead.
We made up stories of conspiracies and stolen bodies and ignored the miracles that had been occurring during the past three days, just like our forefathers ignored everything that had been occurring.
- 2000 Year Time Boundary. We cannot go up the mountain yet. We did not want to go up when God invited us and we chose to make the intercessor go up first.
Boundaries.
You shall set bounds for the people all around, saying, Beware that you do not go up the mountain or touch the border of it; whoever touches the mountain shall surely be put to death.
(Exodus 19: 12)
- The Ram's Horn Sounds. We can go up the mountain when we hear the sound of the trumpet.
Wait For the Signal.
No hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot through; whether man or beast, he shall not live.
When the ram's horn sounds a long blast, they shall come up to the mountain.
(Exodus 19: 13)
- Meeting God. At the Second Coming, God will come with thunder and lightning and at the sound of the last trumpet, the righteous dead will rise and we can all go up to Mount Zion to see God face to face.
Waiting for God at the Foot of the Mountain.
So it came about on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunder and lightning flashes and a thick cloud upon the mountain and a very loud trumpet sound, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled.
And Moses brought all the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.
(Exodus 19: 16)
The Everlasting Covenant (Chapter 20).
- Ten Commandments. The commandments are not slavery, they are the gifts we receive when we escape from slavery to sin.
Out of Slavery into Freedom.
I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
(Exodus 20: 2)
Jesus kept all these commandments.
- No Other Gods. They sacrificed their only Son to Molech. He submitted to God.
- Make No Idols. On the cross with His hands stretched out like wings, they made a likeness of something in the heavens. When they mocked Him they were bowing down to an idol they made.
- Name in Vain. They cursed Him. He blessed them and forgave them and honored God's wishes.
- Sabbath Day. He worked six days and rested in the grave on Sabbath.
- Honor Parents. He arranged for the care of His mother, Mary.
They did not honor Him as their Creator and their Lord.
The People broke these commandments and Jesus bought our freedom with his life.
- Murder. They killed their God. He saved their lives.
- Commit Adultery. They united with Rome and conspired to kill Him. He remained faithful to God.
- Steal. They stole His clothes, but He covered our nakedness with His righteousness.
- Bear False Witness. They hired false witnesses. He defended them and took the wrath of God.
- Covet (House, Wife, Servant, Ox, Donkey, Property). Afraid of Rome, the priests did not want to see Him build His kingdom.
So they took his house, his wife Israel, made Him a slave, treated Him like an ox and a donkey and took all His friends and property.
They left Him with nothing and no one.
- People Standing At A Distance. While He was on the cross His loved ones stood at a distance because they were also afraid.
Fear.
All the people perceived the thunder and the lightning flashes and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it they trembled and stood at a distance.
(Exodus 20: 18)
- Intercessor. God invited us to come up to meet Him, instead we sent an intercessor ahead of us.
The original plan was for them to go up the mountain.
Come Up to Me.
... When the ram's horn sounds a long blast, they shall come up to the mountain.
Fear and Trembling.
So it came about on the third day, when it was morning, that there was thunder and lightning flashes and a thick cloud upon the mountain and a very loud trumpet sound, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled.
And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.
Scary God!
Now mount Sinai was all in smoke because the Lord descended upon it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked violently.
When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and God answered him with thunder.
(Exodus 19: 13, 16-19)
But when the day arrived they were afraid because of all the awesome sights and sounds. So they sent Moses alone.
Go For Us.
Then they said to Moses, "Speak to us yourself and we will listen; but let not God speak to us, or we will die."
So the people stood at a distance, while Moses approached the thick cloud where God was.
(Exodus 20: 19-20)
- The Altar of The Lord. The field in the Garden of Gethsemane is the altar of earth where He shed His blood and offered both the burnt offering and the peace offering.
Altar of Earth.
You shall make an altar of earth for Me, and you shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen; in every place where I cause My name to be remembered, I will come to you and bless you.
(Exodus 20: 24)
In the form of a human body, Jesus was made of clay, so He was the altar of earth.
Profane Altar.
This is other evidence that the events at the crucifixion were not the acceptable offering specified by God.
This was not God's altar. He is the cut Rock and the naked priest.
- Altar of Cut Stone. Jesus is symbolized as the Rock. He is also the Lamb, High Priest and altar.
They beat Him with a flagellum which had sharp spikes on the end. They also pierced Him with a sword.
When they took their tools and severely beat Him and cut Him, He became the altar of Rock that we cut.
Altar of Stone.
If you make an altar of stone for Me, you shall not build it of cut stones, for if you wield your tool on it, you will profane it.
(Exodus 20: 25)
- Naked High Priest. He was crucified naked.
Naked. And you shall not go up by steps to My altar, so that your nakedness will not be exposed on it.
(Exodus 20: 26)
The Authors of The Plan of Salvation
Now we can finally address a very important concept. How will God help us to approach Him while we were slaves of Satan, in enmity with God and distrusting and fearful of God?
It was all written in the Plan of Salvation, a document that was forged with Adam and Eve and we ratified it on Mount Sinai, by acting like our ancestors.
- God (Blessings).
God's contribution was to give us gifts. He would bless us, forgive us and reconcile with us and help us to overcome our weaknesses.
He would draw near to us.
Adam and Eve.
God promised Eve a Son who would rescue her.
- Satan (Curses). Satan, acting as our accuser, demanded ransom for payment and punishment for our sins.
He wrote the curses, the lists of punishments that we must receive.
The Angels on Sinai.
This [Moses] is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness together with the angel who was speaking to him on
Mount Sinai, and who was with our fathers; and he received living oracles to pass on to you.
Laws Given by Angels.
you who received the law as ordained by angels, and did not keep it.
(Acts 7 :38, 53)
There may have been both good and evil angels on Sinai.
All the principalities and powers came to witness this extraordinary event and put in their contributions.
As the official representative of earth, Satan must have been there.
So Satan may have had some input into the law.
By looking at the terms of the curses and the character of God and the rest of the law, one can only conclude that someone who was against us had a part in authoring the terms of the covenant outlined by the terms of the curses.
Adam gave Satan that authority when he lost preeminence and the rights of the earth to Satan.
So Satan became the mediator who accuses us and Christ purchased us back.
Purchased By Becoming A Curse.
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us - for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree."
Angels Mediating The Curse.
Why the law then? It was added because of transgressions, having been ordained through angels by the agency of a mediator;
Until the seed would come to whom the promise was made.
(Galatians 3: 13, 19)
- God is Good. God does not associate with evil. Our behavior gave Satan the right to tempt us.
God Does Not Tempt.
Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.
(James 1: 13)
While God tests the righteous, He does not do it with evil because He cannot cause us to sin.
- Not Good and Evil. Both good and evil proclamations cannot proceed from the mouth of God.
God Does Not Curse.
But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison.
With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men who have been made in the likeness of God.
From the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren these things ought not to be this way.
Does a fountain send out from the same opening both fresh and bitter water?
Can a fig tree, my brethren, produce olives, or a vine produce figs? Nor can salt water produce fresh.
(James 3: 8-12)
- The Law is Perfect and Good.
The law is good, but the sinful nature written into the genes overrides our good intentions.
Good Law.
So then, the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.
Good Intentions. For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man,
Bad Behavior. but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members.
Cursed Man! Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?
(Romans 7: 12, 22-24)
Since the law is spiritual, only the Holy Spirit can help us to keep the law because the carnal nature will disobey.
Freedom in The Spiritual Law.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
(Romans 8: 2)
Only one law will not exist in heaven, so it is the only law that is not good for the righteous.
No More Curse.
People will live in it, and there will no longer be a curse, for Jerusalem will dwell in security.
(Zechariah 14: 11)
No More Curse.
There will no longer be any curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will serve Him.
(Revelation 22: 3)
- The Sins In The Curses. The curses are not only severe hardship, some of the terms of the curse require that we sin.
Idolatry and cannibalism are required by the curses.
Because we reject God and the spiritual nature, Satan can require that we serve him and our carnal natures.
Sold Into Slavery.
For we know that the Law is spiritual, but I am of flesh, sold into bondage to sin.
(Romans 7: 14)
- Sacrifices. God did not desire the sacrificial system, Satan did.
Obedience Only.
Sacrifice and meal offering You have not desired. My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You have not required.
Then I said, "Behold I come. In the scroll of the book it is written of Me.
I delight to do Your will, O my God. Your law is written in My heart."
(Psalm 40: 6-8)
- Hostile Decrees. Therefore the curses are the hostile decrees that Jesus nailed to the cross.
Debt Paid.
Having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which were hostile to us; and he has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
(Colossians 2: 14)
- Hostile Powers. When He won at the cross, He also defeated the hostile powers who were responsible for the curses.
God's sacrifice at the cross glorified His name and forever tarnished and judged the actions.
God demonstrated His character by submitting to the curses devised by Satan so that He could save people who hated Him.
Satan demonstrated His character by lying about God and torturing an innocent Man.
God's action at the cross must have glorified His name because Satan must have said that God was not merciful and would never die for a sinner because He must obey the law.
Powers Defeated.
When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.
(Colossians 2: 15)
God Is Exalted!
And Jesus answered them saying, "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified".
Now My soul has become troubled and what shall I say, Father save Me from this hour? But for this purpose I came, to this hour.
Father, glorify Your name. Then a voice came out of heaven, "I have both glorified it and will glorify it again."
Satan Is Evicted!
Now judgment is upon this world, now the ruler of this world will be cast out.
(John 12: 23, 27-28, 31)
Satan Evicted!
And He said to them, "I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning.
(Luke 10: 18)
Jesus Is Exalted. And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.
(John 12: 32)
- By Myself. If the events on Calvary were necessary for our salvation then God would have needed the works of evil in order to save us.
We received forgiveness of sin in Gethsemane without the help of Satan or evil men or evil deeds. God accomplished this by Himself as the oath states.
- The Final Punishment. At the end of time God punishes the wicked according to the terms of the curses.
He is merely giving them exactly what they forced Him to agree to.
Like Haman, who tried to murder the Jews of Persia, they are punished with their own punishments and judged with their own judgments.
They specified the punishments and they fell into their own trap which they had set for the righteous.
Adam and Eve. The curses were told to Adam, Eve and the Serpent after sin came.
- We The People (Intercessor). We asked for a human intercessor to stand between us and God so that we can hide behind him.
So we managed the fear, brought about by sin not by coming near to God, but by sending one of us who was not afraid of God to be our intercessor.
So you can see that we also helped to write the plan of Salvation by our own actions and requests.
Adam and Eve.
They were hiding in the trees behind fig leaves because they were naked, ashamed and afraid. They put a tree between them and God and we put a dead tree between us and Christ.
» Hiding Behind The Lamb of God on The Cross.
Between the leaves of the tree picked by Adam and Eve and the dead wood of the trunk of the tree shaped into a cross, we managed to build something to hide behind.
Unfortunately, a dead tree could not save us, only a dead Lamb would. However, since we insisted on hiding behind a tree, God placed His Lamb on the tree and covered the tree with His blood. So whoever was hiding in fear of death behind the tree could be saved because the blood of the Lamb was smeared on the tree.
So God became one of us in the form of Jesus Christ so that He could be our intercessor. He came with His hands stretched out on a tree in the form of the cross so that we could hide behind Him.
He paid the ransom required by Satan and satisfied the obligations of punishment under the law.
All of these actions and so much more is our gift from God. He took our shame and gave us life.
He has always had His hands stretched out in invitation to us to come to Him.
The Beloved Lord and Master
Since we will not approach God and since we ran away from God when He approached us in His glorious form, the rescue plan needed another approach.
So the Plan of Salvation involves the beloved Master putting on the disguise of a Son of man and a slave and coming to the earth.
We will not run away if He looks like us.
These laws govern how we should treat Christ while He is one of us and our rights under the slave kingdom run by Satan.
- The Rights of Slaves (Chapter 21).
The Bible seemed to support slavery and the stupid people of the colonial era used this fact to justify a type of slavery condemned by the Bible.
It was never the intention of the Bible to support any type of slavery.
However, when our parents sold us into slavery, God had to make rules to manage slavery until He could free us.
So these rules are not an acceptance of the system of slavery but a way to protect us while we were slaves and legally free us from our mistakes.
The fact is, we like slavery to sin, just as Israel liked slavery in Egypt and kept trying to return there.
- Hebrew Slave. A Hebrew slave can only be held for six years.
Brother Slave.
If you buy a Hebrew slave, he shall serve for six years; but on the seventh he shall go out as a free man without payment.
If his master gives him a wife, and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall belong to her master, and he shall go out alone.
(Exodus 21: 2, 4)
So at some point on the eternal time scale, Satan would have had to set us free automatically.
This is why it seems like the earth will last six thousand years before we are rescued.
» Jesus Escaped Slavery.
This means that since Jesus was perfect, by the time He was six years old, He was legally out of the clutches of Satan.
Since Egypt represented slavery, Jesus might have returned from Egypt when He was seven years old.
Therefore, when He was 33 years old and dying on the cross, the wife He took and children who were "born again" to Him did not belong to slavery.
- The Beloved Master. However, if we love our master we can remain with him permanently.
This is probably why body piercing, which were done to worship false gods, were abhorred by God.
The people were actually giving themselves to eternal slavery to a sadistic master.
Remaining A Slave.
But if the slave plainly says, "I love my master, my wife and my children; I will not go out as a free man,"
then his master shall bring him to God, then he shall bring him to the door of the doorpost. And his master shall pierce his ear with an awl; and he shall serve him permanently.
(Exodus 21: 5-6)
» Slaves of A Benevolent God. Jesus Christ was nailed to the cross and His head was pierced by thorns. He became a slave of God.
- Female Slaves.
Adam and Eve sold their children into slavery to Satan. While males can go free in the seventh year, women must be redeemed. This is why the Messiah must be a male and the world is symbolized as female.
The Daughter of Adam.
If a man sells his daughter as a female slave, she is not to go free as the male slaves do.
Displeasing. If she is displeasing in the eyes of her master who designated her for himself, then he shall let her be redeemed.
He does not have authority to sell her to a foreign people because of his unfairness to her.
The Son. If he designates her for his son, he shall deal with her according to the custom of daughters.
Another Wife. If he takes to himself another woman, he may not reduce her food or clothing, or her conjugal rights.
Automatic Freedom. If he will not do these three things for her, then she shall go out for nothing, without payment of money.
(Exodus 21: 7-11)
Satan took us for himself.
The female can be removed from the custody of her master under four conditions.
The female can be bought back or married to his son or married to him. If not, she will go free.
- Redeemed (Purchased). Jesus Christ redeemed us. Satan can only sell us back to God our Father according to the law.
Those of us who make ourselves displeasing to Satan and pleasing to God have the right to claim this redemption.
- Married to The Son. Jesus Christ became a human born from the seed of the woman so that He could also rescue us under this provision of the law.
He was now a slave in the kingdom of Satan because He was born to a slave woman. Satan could claim Him as his son or his property and prevent the marriage, but Jesus was born as the Son of God.
God approved the marriage, so Jesus is the Bridegroom and the church is the bride.
» Children of the Devil. Jesus said our father was the Devil. Here is how.
Children born to a slave belong to the master, even after the slave goes free. So even after Christ was freed we still belonged to Satan because we were all born after Eve sold us into slavery.
Children Born in Slavery.
If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall belong to her master, and he shall go out alone.
(Exodus 21: 16)
This is why Satan had to corrupt Eve first. She belonged to him after she ate the fruit because she submitted to him and made him her master.
This is why her curse is submission, because she submitted to someone other than God.
She will learn to appreciate God after 6000 years of submission to tyrants.
- Another Wife. God did not create any more people so Satan did not have this option.
Even if he uses other nations as his weapon against the world, he cannot totally destroy the world. We still have rights to food, clothing and to bear children.
This provision gave Eve, through her daughters, the right to keep on bearing children until she would give birth to the Promised Son.
Otherwise, Satan would have rights to Adam and Eve and the planet forever if they were sterile.
- Automatic Freedom. If everything fails, God always has an automatic freedom option.
Even though Satan won control of the earth, the laws of the Jubilee says that it will automatically go back to Adam in the fiftieth year.
» The Daughter of God.
Since Jesus is also the Son of God, we are covered in two ways, either as daughters or daughter-in-law.
Israel or the church is the daughter sold into slavery by Adam.
God can only get us back by purchasing us and marrying us to His Son.
- Kidnapped Slave. Satan is sentenced to death because what he really did was to lure Adam and Eve and kidnap them.
However, just in case Satan can make a good argument at the final judgment about why we are in his possession, God made sure that He could use all the other rules of slavery to free us.
Kidnapped Adam.
He who kidnaps a man, whether he sells him or he is found in his possession, shall surely be put to death.
(Exodus 21: 16)
- Struck to Death. At the crucifixion Satan struck and killed Christ with a rod called the cross.
The Rod of the Cross.
If a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod and he dies at his hand, he shall be punished.
If, however, he survives a day or two, no vengeance shall be taken for he is his property.
(Exodus 21: 20)
However Christ was raised to life after two days so immediate vengeance was not taken on Satan.
However, a murder charge will be issued against him based on other laws.
- Lost Eye or Tooth (Verse 26-27). A male or a female slave can have automatic freedom if we lose an eye or tooth.
So we deserve our freedom under this law.
- Blind. Satan blinded us and kept us in darkness, so we should claim our freedom on this basis.
- Toothless. We are unable to eat from the tree of life, because Satan struck us.
- The Pregnant Woman. On the cross there was a death struggle and a child was born prematurely.
Premature Birth.
If men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child so that she gives birth prematurely, yet there is no injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman's husband may demand of him, and he shall pay as the judges decide.
(Exodus 21: 22)
Who is this pregnant woman?
There are only two women present at the cross, Israel and the woman that is the bride of Jesus Christ.
Since the marriage between Christ and the church will be concluded in heaven, the church must be a virgin and cannot be the woman with Child.
So Israel was the pregnant woman, giving birth to the Messiah. The prophecies of John show that Satan waited to destroy the woman and her child.
The Innocent Nation.
And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
A Pregnant Nation. And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
The Rampaging Red Dragon. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and look a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
And his tail drew the third of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
The Unique Son. And she brought forth a male child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up to God, and to his throne.
And this woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and three score days.
(Revelation 12: 1-6)
From the events we know that Satan tried to destroy the baby Jesus before he could fulfill His mission.
Now Satan is trying to destroy Jesus while he is in the process of completing His mission.
The birth is called premature because the church will not be ready to be born for about 2000 years.
- No Injury: Judge and Husband Decide. Even if there is no death or injury, the husband and the judges can impose a fine.
The premature and poisonous birth of the church caused a less than ideal start for a struggling church.
As the husband of Israel, God and His judge, Jesus Christ will decide what to do.
We know that Satan was permanently cast out of heaven after the crucifixion, so that he cannot come there as the representative of earth just to accuse us continually.
- Injury: Revenge. We cannot take revenge, but God will take revenge for us.
Vengeance for God.
But if there is any further injury, then you shall appoint as a penalty life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.
(Exodus 21: 23-25)
Satan struck Israel, who was pregnant with their Messiah.
- Life for Life. Jesus was killed and Satan will lose His life.
- Eye for Eye. He was blindfolded. Satan will live on a darkened earth for 1000 years.
- Tooth for Tooth. Jesus could not eat or speak.
- Hand for Hand. He was pierced in His hands with nails.
- Foot for Foot. He was pierced in His feet with nails.
- Burn for Burn. Jesus was under fiery trials and Satan will be burned in hell fire.
- Wound for Wound. Jesus was cut while being beaten and pierced with nails and a sword.
- Bruise for Bruise. Jesus was bruised because of the punches and slaps and beatings.
» Death of The Child (Abortion).
This text is used to show that an unborn child is a life in the eyes of God.
However, the text is really unclear as to whether the "further injury" is to the child or the mother.
Since the statutes on murder already cover the death of the woman, common sense should tell us that this entire conversation is about the injury to the child and to others that we esteem as somehow deserving of lesser rights, such as slaves and unborn children.
One fact, makes this solely about the child. The laws fit the prophecy about Jesus Christ.
He was the child born because of a blow to the mother by the rampaging animal, the red dragon, who was trying to destroy Him.
» Revenge (I Will Repay).
God says that vengeance belongs to Him. He pays for everything.
- Life for Life. He exchanged His life for ours in Gethsemane.
- Eye for Eye ... Bruise for Bruise. He endured the curses for us on Calvary.
- Rampaging Ox.
If God is charged in the judgment for being the cause of sin because He allowed Satan to run wild, here is His defence.
- Not Responsible. God is not responsible for the actions of Satan if He did not know about his behavior or this was the first time Satan had done this.
The Killer Ox.
If an ox gores a man or a woman to death, the ox shall surely be stoned and its flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall go unpunished.
(Exodus 21: 28)
Satan gored Jesus to death on the cross, but God was not accountable since it was the first time. Satan will be stoned to death.
Other laws on sacrificing the ox for peace show that we can eat the flesh of Christ, the ox from heaven.
According to this law we cannot eat the flesh of Satan.
- Responsible. Satan gored Adam and Eve to death, and he had been known to be evil because He had caused a rebellion in heaven.
Habitually Dangerous.
If, however, an ox was previously in the habit of goring and the owner has been warned, yet he does not confine it and it kills a man or a woman, the ox shall be stoned and its owner also shall be put to death.
(Exodus 21: 29)
However, God confined Satan to the earth when he was thrown out of heaven to earth. So God is not responsible.
Even if you find God guilty because He has foreknowledge or He should have been wise enough not to confine Satan to earth with two innocent and naive people, then He already paid the price with His life on Calvary and Satan will be stoned to death at the end of time.
- Ransom. Jesus paid the ransom with His life.
Ransom.
If a ransom is demanded of him, then he shall give for the redemption of his life whatever is demanded of him.
(Exodus 21: 30)
- The Price of A Slave. Jesus was the slave of the high priest when Satan gored Him on the cross.
Thirty Shekels of Silver.
If the ox gores a male or a female slave, the owner shall give his or her master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.
(Exodus 21: 32)
Jesus was bought for thirty pieces of silver and Judas gave the money back to the priests.
- Punishment and Restitution (Chapter 22).
According to John, Judas was a thief.
It Takes A Thief.
But Judas Iscariot, one of the disciples who was intending to betray Him, said, "Why was this perfume not sold for 300 denarii and given to poor people?"
Now he said this not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief, and as he had the money box, he used to pilfer what was put in it.
(John 12: 4-6)
Here we see the punishment for thieves.
- Thief. Judas was the thief who kidnapped and sold Jesus to the high priest as a slave and the sacrificial animal.
He was struck down, fell and was killed that same night and the judgment is that nobody is guilty of his death. He will bear his own guilt.
He was also their accountant and a thief who stole the offerings. He decided to sell Jesus because he was angry that Mary did not donate her wealth to Jesus, but wasted it on useless perfume for His feet..
Stealing the Lamb of God.
If a man steals an ox or a sheep and slaughters it or sells it, he shall pay five oxen for the ox and four sheep for the sheep.
If a thief is caught while breaking in and is struck so that he dies, there will be no bloodguiltiness on his account.
(Exodus 22: 1-2)
- Breach of Trust. As a disciple who sold his master, Judas was guilty of a very serious breach of trust.
He even breached the trust with a kiss, which in itself was supposed to be an act of trust.
Stolen Life.
For every breach of trust, whether it is for ox, for donkey, for sheep, for clothing, or for any lost things about which one says,
"This is it," the case of both parties shall come before the judges; he whom the judges condemn shall pay double to his neighbor.
(Exodus 22: 9)
Jesus lost everything because of this breach. His clothes were taken and He became the ox, the sheep and the donkey who was taken.
- Stolen Clothes. Jesus' clothes were taken and were not returned to Him by sunset.
Clothes Held in Trust.
If you ever take your neighbor's cloak as a pledge, you are to return it to him before the sun sets.
(Exodus 22: 26)
- Thrown to the Dogs. This prophecy is remarkable because it shows how the Jews and Gentiles ate the roasted Passover meat.
Kosher Meat.
You shall be holy men to Me, therefore you shall not eat any flesh torn to pieces in the field; you shall throw it to the dogs.
(Exodus 22: 31)
- The Field (Garden of Gethsemane). When He gave the perfect offering of His blood in the garden of Gethsemane, He was in a field and His flesh was not torn to pieces.
So when the priests took Him from Gethsemane to put Him to trial, they and the people were roasting and eating the flesh of a perfectly acceptable offering during the trial.
- Flesh Torn to Pieces (Beaten with a Flagellum). His flesh was torn to pieces outside Gethsemane when the Romans beat Him with a whip designed to cut and tear into flesh.
- Dogs (Gentiles). The Gentiles were called dogs. So when the priests handed Jesus to the Romans, they were throwing Him to the dogs. In fact, they took a perfectly sacrificed animal that belonged to God and threw it to the dogs.
- Eating Flesh. On the cross, Israel and the Gentiles symbolically ate their Messiah.

- The Perversion of Justice by The Priests (Chapter 23).
The Jews read Exodus 22: 24 - 23: 19 during the Passover season. These verses have nothing to do with the Passover celebration or history, but everything to do with the Passover during which Jesus was crucified.
It was a prophecy to tell one particular generation how to behave during this particular Passover so that they would not commit a grave sin.
- Malicious Witness. The priests hired false witnesses to pervert justice.
Lies! Lies!
You shall not bear a false report; do not join your hand with a wicked man to be a malicious witness.
(Exodus 23: 1)
- Mob Justice. The people followed the crowd in asking for Jesus to be crucified.
Perverted Justice.
You shall not follow the masses in doing evil, nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after a multitude in order to pervert justice.
(Exodus 23: 2)
- Jesus is The Donkey With Our Burden.
Judas had just kidnapped and sold Jesus to the high priest.
So he met Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane and gave Him over to Caiaphas.
Returned to Caiaphas.
If you meet your enemy's ox or donkey wandering away, you shall surely return it to him.
(Exodus 23: 4)
Simon of Cyrene.
If you see the donkey of one who hates you lying helpless under its load, you shall refrain from leaving it to him, you shall surely release it with him.
(Exodus 23: 5)
An exhausted Jesus fell under the weight of the cross, and Simon carried His cross.
- Bribe. The priests bribed Judas with thirty pieces of silver to betray Jesus.
Blood Money.
You shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the clear-sighted and subverts the cause of the just.
(Exodus 23: 8)
- False Charges. They accused Him of false charges designed to get Him in trouble with various groups.
Killing The Righteous God.
Keep far from a false charge, and do not kill the innocent or the righteous, for I will not acquit the guilty.
(Exodus 23: 7)
Among the Romans they charged Him with insurrection, wanting to be king and refusing to pay taxes.
Among the Jews they accused Him of blasphemy.
» Instructions for The Priests and Elders
These instructions are repeated later on in this book.
Here, the instructions are meant for the priests. As the High Priest who was being inaugurated, the instructions also belong to Jesus.
- The Final Year. This was the middle of the final year of the covenant. At the end of this time period He gave the food of the word of God to the needy Gentiles who were like wild animals in the field.
Food For the Jews.
You shall sow your land for six years and gather in its yield,
Food For the Wild Gentiles.
but on the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, so that the needy of your people may eat; and whatever they leave the beast of the field may eat. You are to do the same with your vineyard and your olive grove.
(Exodus 23: 10-11)
- The Final Week. In the final week of His life He worked for six days, now He must rest.
- Silence. He remained silent during His trial and never mentioned the name of Satan. In this sense He was cutting off the name of Satan during the time of His greatest triumph.
Nameless False Gods.
Now concerning everything which I have told you, be on your guard, and do not mention the name of other gods, nor let them be heard from your mouth.
(Exodus 23: 13)
- Males Appear at Three Feasts. On this occasion all three feasts were rolled into one.
- Feast of Unleavened Bread. They did not appear empty-handed. They brought the Lamb of God as an offering. He brought His blood from Gethsemane.
- Feast of Harvest of the First Fruits. They were there when the dead were raised with Jesus.
- Feast of Ingathering. The fruit of their labors was Jesus. They plotted and schemed to bring Him to trial.
Jesus appeared at the Passover and during the weeks leading up to Shavu'ot and He will appear at the Feast of Tabernacles at the Second Coming.
- In The Custody of The Jews. He poured out His blood in the Garden without the presence of sinners or sin in Himself.
The disciples fell into an unnatural sleep and did not stay awake to pray with Him.
Blood in Gethsemane.
You shall not offer the blood of My sacrifice with leavened bread;
Trial By The Sanhedrin. nor is the fat of my feast to remain overnight until morning.
(Exodus 23: 18)
Fat is a symbol of emotions. When the disciples abandoned Him and the priests arrested Him, they tried Him all night and by morning they had totally demoralized Him and broken His heart.
In the morning they handed Him over to the Gentiles.
- Tried by The Sanhedrin. They brought Jesus out of the Garden into the Sanhedrin which was built into the north wall of the temple.
He was the fruit that they plucked out of the garden. In Eden they were not allowed to pluck the choice fruit. Now we are permitted to eat this fruit and the fruit from the Tree of Life.
Fruit.
You shall bring the choice first fruits of your soil into the house of the Lord your God.
(Exodus 23:19)
» The Sin Offering (Young Goat)
Jesus was the sin offering. Anytime He suffered as this offering, His mother must not be present.
When they put Him on trial, none of His friends, disciples or family were present. Israel rejected Him.
The Sin Offering on Trial.
... You shall not boil a young goat in the milk of its mother.
(Exodus 23: 19)
This is the last verse read in the Torah readings. It is also repeated in Exodus 34: 26 and the Jews believe that these are two distinct laws but they do not know why.
- Mother Israel (Exodus 23: 19).
So the last verse read at the Passover Torah reading is the fate of Israel. They would be separated from Christ.
The nation of Israel must be separated from Him before He was handed over to the Romans to be tortured by Satan.
Israel is technically also His mother. At the arrest the people seemed to have turned against Him.
At the trial, the people seemed to be in the courtyard while Jesus was brought in to the elders.
Before the Elders.
Those who had seized Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas, the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together.
(Matthew 26: 57)
- Mother Mary (Exodus 34: 26). His mother must be separated from Him before He became the sin offering during three hours of darkness.
So on the cross, He weaned Himself by giving her to John before the darkness came.
» Origin of The Torah Readings
Why do the Jews read these verses from the Torah during Passover.
Why read about bribes, false witnesses and mob justice during Passover? It is not related to the exodus story or the first Passover.
Who organized this reading schedule?
These are the most likely candidates.
- Moses. At the borders of Caanan Moses read the Torah, so the tradition started there but I am not sure who decided how to divide up the texts in portions over 52 weeks.
- Ezra and Nehemiah. After their return from Babylon they started reading the Torah again. The readings from the prophets (Haftarah) could not have started with Moses but they could have begun at this time.
- After Jesus. The Pharisees and leaders could have done this as a way to keep the faith among a scattered Jewish community.
If the readings were set before Jesus then it is an amazing prophecy and warning to Israel.
If the readings were scheduled after Jesus when there was enmity between the two branches of Israel then it is the dumbest political and public relations move because it makes a great case for Christianity and highlights the sins of the Jews during the Passover.
I would expect a prophet before Christ or Christians to command that these particular verses be read during Passover, but not a Jews of the Common Era who want to distance themselves from Jesus Christ.
They would be calling attention to their behavior using words that do not tell the Passover story of Moses, but the story of the condemned Passover Lamb of God in 31 AD Jerusalem.
» Instructions and Promises To Jesus
- A Guiding Angel. An angel came to Him in the Garden of Gethsemane to comfort Him and assure Him that this was the will of God.
One Angel.
Behold I am going to send an angel before you to guard you along the way and bring you into the place which I have prepared.
(Exodus 23: 20)
Judas was also the angel of death who led Him from the Garden to the priests who led Him to Calvary.
- The Terror of the Cross. They turned their backs on a nailed and crucified Jesus, not knowing that He was winning a war by Himself.
They lifted up the banner of God. They nailed His arms stretched out, guaranteeing that his weakened arms would not fall.
They made Him suffer the curses for us. In the confusion they thought that they were winning, but they were doing everything to guarantee their defeat by their own plans and schemes.
Victory in Confusion.
I will send my terror ahead of you, and throw into confusion all the people among whom you come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.
(Exodus 23: 27)
- The Manna From Heaven. Jesus was our bread and water in the wilderness. He gave us life and removed the deadly sickness of sin.
The Blessed Bread.
But you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water; and I will remove sickness from your midst.
(Exodus 23: 25)
- 2000 Years of Battles. There was no obvious victory after the crucifixion as far as the world was concerned.
But little by little, over the past 2000 years, the kingdom of God has been advancing.
Little by Little.
There shall be no one miscarrying or barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.
I will drive them out before you little by little, until you become fruitful and take possession of the land.
(Exodus 23: 26, 30)
No matter how hopeless the battle seems, we will have victory over all the opponents and enemies of God.
The Romans did not win. Secularism, atheism, Islam and all the eastern religions will not defeat the message of Jesus Christ as the only way to God.
We will become fruitful at the end of time and we will give birth to the children of God.
- The Physical and Spiritual Territory. The boundaries of our experience are both physical and spiritual.
Boundaries.
I will fix your boundary from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the River Euphrates;
for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you will drive them out before you.
(Exodus 23: 31)
- The Parting of The Red Sea. God was with us from the time of the parting of the Red Sea.
- The Sea of the Philistines. He was with us when it seemed that the Gentiles had overflowed us at the crucifixion.
- The Wilderness. He will guide us through 2000 years of famine and drought as we rely on His Bread and Water.
- The Parting of The Euphrates River. The northern boundary is the Euphrates river. God will rescue His people from the land of the north.
In the sixth plague, the final act of His rescue attempt will be the parting of the Euphrates river, just as He parted the Red Sea.
Rescue.
The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates; and its water was dried up, so that the way would be prepared for the kings from the east.
(Revelation 16: 12)
Like Pharaoh, when the waters part the wicked will come in after us with an army.
War: The Battle of Armageddon.
And they gathered them together to the place which in Hebrew is called, Har-Magedon
(Revelation 16: 16)
Building The Free Nation of Israel
The church or the nation of Israel is supposed to be a nation of priests.
The garments of the priest are their righteous covering given by Jesus Christ.
The sanctuary is a symbol of the nation of priests who are a living temple, the final temple.
This sequence of events is a prophecy about building the spiritual nation of Israel until the Second Coming.
- Moses Ascends The Mountain (Chapter 24). Christ on the cross is the pattern that we received on Mount Calvary. Jesus ascended to Mount Zion in heaven where He is overseeing the building of the true temple.
The Ascension.
Then He said to Moses, "Come up to the Lord, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu and seventy of the elders of Israel, and you shall worship at a distance."
Moses alone, however, shall come near to the Lord, but they shall not come near, nor shall the people come up with him."
(Exodus 24: 1-2)
This is an image of the high priest going to God in the Most Holy Place, while the ordinary priests come into the presence of God but only as far as the Holy Place. The people waited at the foot of the mountain.
Jesus did the same thing at the resurrection.
He was raised from the dead and ascended to the throne of God with a number of people. They all went up to Mount Zion in heaven as the first fruit.
He went close to God as the permanent High Priest. We, the people wait on the earth, the footstool of God.
Moses Sprinkled The People.
Then he took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people; and they said, "All that the Lord has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient!"
So Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people and said, "Behold, the blood of the covenant, which the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words."
(Exodus 24: 7-8)
Covenant of Blood.
Therefore even the first covenant was not inaugurated without blood.
For when every commandment had been spoken by Moses to all the people according to the Law, he took the blood of the calves and the goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,
saying, "THIS IS THE BLOOD OF THE COVENANT WHICH GOD COMMANDED YOU."
(Hebrews 9: 18-20)
As he walked from Gethsemane to Calvary Jesus sprinkled the people just like Moses.
- Blood. Jesus was the bleeding Lamb of God.
- Water. This was the sweat and tears of Jesus.
- Scarlet Wool. This is the trail of blood.
- Hyssop. This wood is the cross He carried to Calvary.
- Pattern: The Sanctuary Furniture (Chapter 25-30).
The People's Contribution.
Then the Lord spoke to Moses saying,
"Tell the sons of Israel to raise a contribution for Me; from every man whose heart moves him you shall raise My contribution.
Let them construct a sanctuary for Me that I may dwell among them."
(Exodus 25: 1-2, 8)
The instructions were given in such an unusual order because they are predicting the order of events in the Plan of Salvation.
It also seems to reflect the order in which the new person is being recreated, so that God can undo the damage done by Adam and Eve.
- Ark of the Covenant (Brain and Heart). Jesus Christ established the new covenant in our hearts.
- Table of Shewbread (Food for Life). He offered His broken body and spilled blood, to atone for sin and to pay the ransom for sin.
- Menorah (Eyes). The menorah is decorated like an almond tree with almond shaped eyes.
He is the Word if God who gives us eyes and light to see God.

- Roof (Blood-Brain Barrier). Linen, Goat's Hair, Ram Skin, Porpoise Skin cover the entire sanctuary which we must guard like our brains.
- Body. The skin is the barrier that holds us together.
- Blood. Blood feeds the brain and maintains life.
- Brain. The limbic system influences decisions of right and wrong.
In the legal system of God, we must first learn about God before we will be responsible for responding to issues of right and wrong.
Therefore, the Menorah must be lit before the roof is made.
- Boards and Bars (Skeleton).
After we learn about God, we build up our bones and a spine so that we can actually go out and do something for God.
- Inner Veil and Four Pillars (Flesh and Tendons - Inner Layers). The furniture was brought in after the inner veil was hung.
First the Ark and then the Table of Shewbread in the north side and the Menorah on the south wall.
The obvious question is where is the altar of incense?
There are no instructions on its structure and it has not been brought in.
- Outer Screen and Five Pillars (Flesh and Connective Tissue - Outer Layers).
- Bronze Altar of Sacrifice (Stomach). The altar of sacrifice is built, but there is no mention of the laver.
- Court (Skin). Then a fence was placed around the temple complex.
However, there is now no altar of incense and no laver!
- Priest's Garments (Clothes). Our garments are the righteousness given to us by Christ. They cover our nakedness which first appeared when Adam and Eve sinned.
Eyes (Nakedness).
Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings.
Ears (The Sound of the Lord Walking). Then they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
Then the Lord God called to the man, and said to him, "Where are you?"
He said, "I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid Myself."
(Genesis 3: 7-10)
The Trees of The Garden.
They disguised themselves and decorated themselves as trees. From this point forward, the people are symbolized as trees.
God would use this symbol, but designate the righteous as trees with fruit and the wicked as weeds, grass and trees without fruit.
Beautiful Sight for the Eyes (Beautiful Clothes).
You shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty.
For Aaron's sons you shall make tunics; you shall also make sashes for them and you shall make caps for them, for glory and for beauty.
(Exodus 28: 2, 40)
Wonderful Sound for the Ears (The Sound of the High Priest Walking).
You shall make on its hem pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet, all around the hem of the robe.
a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, all around the hem of the robe.
It shall be on Aaron when he ministers; and its tinkling shall be heard when he enters and leaves the holy place before the Lord so that he will not die.
(Exodus 28: 33-35)
A Seal.
You shall also make a plate of pure gold and shall engrave on it, like the engravings of a seal, "Holy to the Lord."
You shall fasten on it a cord of blue, and it shall be on the turban; it shall be at the front of the turban.
(Exodus 28: 36)
The Tefillin As A Seal. This holy crown is fastened and tied to the front of the forehead just like the tefillin and its straps are fastened to the head.
Inside the tefillin is a copy of the law of God and inside the brain is supposed to be a copy of the law of God which makes us holy.
Both are situated over the pituitary gland and the portion of the brain located between the eyes that governs good judgment and decision making.
In this part of the brain is the prefrontal cortex, pituitary gland, limbic system, hypothalamus and insula.
These structures control all emotions, feelings, pleasure, mood, motivation, impulse control, maturation and judgment.
This part of our recreation requires our active participation and willing consent.
It shows that the law is written in our hearts and minds.
» Consecrating the Priests (Chapter 29). A nation of priests must be anointed by the Holy Spirit before they can perform their duties.
- Altar Of Incense And Laver (Chapter 30). The central role of Prayer and the Holy Spirit in the Plan of Salvation are represented by the altar and the laver.
When we decide to obey God and the law is written in our hearts, it is because of the continual work of the Holy Spirit who washes us and helps us to keep open communication with God.
These function best when the rest of the sanctuary is built.
- The Gifted Ones (Chapter 31). God gives skills to make objects for the sanctuary.
At Shavu'ot the Holy Spirit brought gifts to the early church. The gift served two purposes. First the Holy Spirit came to permanently transform us by writing the laws in our heart so that we can faithfully and voluntarily love and keep the covenant.
Second, the Holy Spirit gives powerful gifts to help us build the living sanctuary.
Before the Second Coming, the gifts of the Holy Spirit will be poured out again so that we can make the objects that will build the church. We will successfully call the living stones, the righteous people who belong to God.
- The Delay On The Mountain (Chapter 32). Moses was on the mountain for forty days.
Delay.
Now when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down form the mountain, the people assembled about Aaron and said to him, "Come, make us a god who will go before us, as for this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him."
(Exodus 32: 1)
So the people convinced Aaron to help them build a gold calf to worship.
The God Of Gold.
Then Moses returned to the Lord and said, "Alas, this people have committed a great sin, and they have made a god of gold for themselves."
(Exodus 32: 31)
While Jesus Christ appears to delay the Second Coming since He has been on Mount Zion for 2000 years, the people will also build an image of gold for the citizens of Babylon the Great to bow down and worship.
- Babylon.
Many years later, the king of Babylon received a dream from God where he learned that he was a head of gold on an idolatrous statue that would be destroyed by God.
Resisting the interpretation, he made a statue of gold and tried to force the people, including Israel, to worship the idol.
The God of Gold.
Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, the height of which was sixty cubits and its width six cubits; he set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon.
Death Penalty. "But whoever does not fall down and worship shall immediately be thrown into the middle of a furnace of blazing fire."
Global Idolatry. Therefore at that time, when all the peoples heard the sound of the horn, flute, lyre, trigon, psaltery, bagpipe and all kinds of music, all the peoples, nations and men of every language fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
(Daniel 3: 1, 6-7)
- Babylon the Great.
Babylon became the pattern for the final rebellious nation at the end of time.
All the symbols are combined. The high priest of the church will lead the world into building an image of gold to be worshipped by force by the entire planet.
The God of Gold.
And he does great wonders, so that he makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, and deceives those who live on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast;
Image of the Beast. saying to them that live on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
And he had power to give life to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak,
and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
And he caused all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
And that no man might buy or sell,
The Mark of the Beast. save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
(Revelation 13: 13-17)
In Israel, there was only one righteous Man remaining on the earth and God began a great nation through Him.
Everyone must be born again through Jesus, the Messiah.
A Nation From One Righteous Man.
Now let Me alone, that my anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them; and I will make of you a great nation.
(Exodus 32: 10)
Lifted Up on A Mountain.
Then Moses turned and went down from the mountain with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand, tablets which were written on both sides, they were written on one side and the other.
The tablets were God's work, and the writing was God's writing engraved on the tablets.
(Exodus 32: 15-16)
While Christ was lifted up on the cross, the people were oblivious of the monumentous events that were occurring.
In the same way, their ancestors were having a wild party with an idol while Moses was on the mountain.
So the commandments, the covenant, lay broken before them just as Jesus was broken before them.
Broken Commandments.
It came about, as soon as Moses came near the camp, that he saw the calf and the dancing, and Moses' anger burned, and he threw the tablets from his hands and shattered them at the foot of the mountain.
(Exodus 32: 19)
So here lies the origins of a sort of cannibalism that will save us.
Moses made them eat and drink the false god that they adored. He would be passed out like dung under their feet.
Eating The False God.
He took the calf which they had made and burned it with fire, and ground it to powder, and scattered it over the surface of the water and made the sons of Israel drink it.
(Exodus 32: 20)
God makes us eat and drink the true God that they hated. He would be incorporated into us to give us life.
» Aaron And The Golden Idol.
Aaron was a weak high priest who, when confronted, gave an infantile excuse for how he oversaw such an obvious display of idolatry.
The False God in the Fire.
I said to them, "Whoever has any gold, let them tear it off." So they gave it to me, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf.
(Exodus 32: 24)
At the end of time, we will also worship an idol of gold who has power over fire.
Now, Aaron's excuse no longer seems laughable.
This final false god will miraculously emerge out of fire at the urging of a corrupt religious system, led by a corrupt priest at the request of rebellious people.
Something evil and supernatural will occur at the end of time, when Satan emerges to orchestrate the greatest season of blatant idolatry in the face of the miraculous presence of God.
From the symbols, it is also clear that Satan was at the crucifixion, stirring up the crowd to defy God in the face of His physical presence.
Like Moses, Jesus intercedes for us in this great sin. He was blotted out for our sins.
The Intercessor Blotted Out.
But now, if you will forgive their sin - and if not, please blot me out of Your book which You have written!
(Exodus 32: 32)
- The Tent Of Meeting (Chapter 33).
An angel came to comfort Jesus in the garden and assured Him that He was on the right path.
Angel.
I will send and angel before you and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite.
(Exodus 33: 2)
At the seder, the tent of meeting was in the upper room. During that whole week they stayed in Bethany and Jesus would go to the temple every day.
Now that He was nailed to the cross, His disciples were far off outside.
Everyone who used to seek the Lord stood at a distance away from Him.
Tent Of Meeting.
Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, a good distance from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who sought the Lord would go out to the tent of meeting which was outside the camp.
(Exodus 33: 7)
When God passed by to inspect the offering on Passover, we were placed in the Rock called Jesus Christ, who was cleft or torn for our sins.
The Glory Of God.
and it will come about, while My glory is passing by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by.
(Exodus 33: 22)
» The Tent Of Meeting.
The formal Mishkan tabernacle had not been built yet.
Moses had just broken the first set of Ten Commandments and had not received the second. So there were no holy objects to protect.
Only the pillar of clouds and fire were with them.
This was a temporary place where they would meet Moses.
Some suggest that it was Moses' own tent.
» Calling The Gentiles.
The actions seem to reflect God calling those "afar off" - the Gentiles. God pitched a temporary temple among them.
Other symbols point to the calling of the Gentiles because God pitched His temple elsewhere out of the camp of physical Israel.
- The Jesus Tent.
Jesus on the cross was the temporary tent pitched outside the camp, tied down to the earth with nails.
Everyone who "sought the Lord" could go outside the north gates of Jerusalem to see Him.
In this human body He was the temporary tent provided just before the permanent tent was set up.
Whether it was Moses' tent or special housing, he pitched it afar off so that the tent was not in the center of the camp of the twelve tribes.
It shows that the events after the crucifixion should be the central focus of the church.
- Rebellious. They rejected their Messiah and He was consumed for sin.
.
... for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way.
(Exodus 33: 3)
- Joshua.
He is the only one of two who crossed over with the second generation. As a member of the tribe of Benjamin, he represents the last child - the final generation.
He is a type of Yeshua, the only one who stood in the door of the temple. Jesus is the one who stands at the door of the temple and will not come out of the temple until the Second Coming.
Standing By A Friend.
And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.
(Exodus 33: 11)
Notice that the second man who made it into the Promised Land was Caleb from the tribe of Judah.
He was not standing at the door to the temple, but He represents the fact that the Jews (those from the tribe of Judah) would not be standing with the intercessor at the temple during this period of anger and rejection.
However, he enters the Promised Land as a sign that Israel will get their act together as a nation at the end of time.
- Moses Prays. This prayer of Moses (also a type of Christ) points to an intercessor who will plead on behalf of the rejected physical Israel.
The argument is that Israel is a sign to the nations of the world that the Hebrew God is the true God.
So if physical Israel finds grace it will be a sign to the world if the true God shows favor to this historic people.
This is not a statement of favoritism, but it points back to this ancient God who will show Himself strong among all false gods through an unbroken 4000 year history of leading this particular nation.

And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.
For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.
And the Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.
(Exodus 33: 15-17)
So shall rebellious Israel be separated (rejected) from among all the people of the world? No.
- Glory. This reversal of fortune will come at a time when God shows His glory. Certainly, the power and work of the Latter Rain will achieve this.
Showing Glory.
And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.
(Exodus 33: 18)
- Mercy. Mercy is at His discretion. He chose the rebellious and idolatrous Gentiles, to show them mercy.
Goodness Is Mercy.
And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
(Exodus 33: 19)
- Standing On The Rock. Beside God is a Rock that is our firm foundation.
Rock.
And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
(Exodus 33: 21)
- The Second Set Of Commandments (Chapter 34).
In our first state we broke the commandments that were written on stone and revealed to us.
Now we offer the material on which the laws are written. We give two chambers of our hearts and the two hemispheres of our brain for God to write His laws again.
This time the law is internal, not external.
This time, we chose to provide the place to write the laws.
But God still does the writing and He writes the same set of laws.
» The Power of The New Covenant.
The New Covenant provides many things to assure our salvation.
- A New Man. The new man willingly has the laws written on their hearts. We must first be willing and initiate the process in us by bringing our hearts to God.
New Tables.
Now the Lord said to Moses, "Cut out for yourself two stone tablets like the former ones,
Same Laws. and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the former tablets which you shattered.
Up to Mount Zion. So be ready by morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself there to Me on the top of the mountain".
(Exodus 34: 1-2)
This scene is also a prophecy of the resurrection. Jesus got up on Sunday morning to go up to heaven to receive and to ratify the New Covenant.
- Mercy and Justice. The covenant promises to be merciful while we are changing, but it will not excuse the guilty.
A Covenant of Mercy.
Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth;
who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin;
Justice. yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generation."
(Exodus 34: 6-7)
The people were not immediately destroyed for killing Jesus.
Like the exodus, God waited forty years for repentance. So in 70 AD, the temple was destroyed in the third and fourth generation after the crucifixion.
Four generations later, they were driven out of Jerusalem after the Bar Kochbah revolt.
The Romans were also punished in 79 AD.
- The Intercessor.
The covenant gave us one like us, who loves us, to plead our case.
So Moses asked God to remain with them even though they are stubborn.
A Covenant of Forgiveness.
Moses made haste to bow low towards the earth and worship.
He said, "if now I have found favor in Your sight, O Lord, I pray, let the Lord go along in our midst, even though the people are so obstinate, and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us as Your own possession."
(Exodus 34: 8-9)
As our intercessor, Jesus asks for our forgiveness and God remains with us because Jesus is faithful.
Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. (Luke 23: 34)
- The Gifts of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit brings the fruit of a righteous character and the gifts to accomplish the work. All of this is a miracle of transformation.
A Covenant of Miracles.
Then God said, "Behold I am going to make a covenant before all your people. I will perform miracles which have not been produced in all the earth nor among any of the nations;
and all the people among whom you live will see the working of the Lord, for it is a fearful thing that I am going to perform with you."
(Exodus 34: 10)
After Jesus ascended to heaven, the Holy Spirit came with miraculous gifts 50 days later at Pentecost (Shavu'ot).
At the end of time we will also do greater miracles that have ever been done before.
» The Transformation of The People. The Covenant people will actively drive out all sources of sin.
Those who have the law written in their hearts will do certain things.
- No Covenant With Gentiles. They will not make agreements with the wicked and adopt their ways.
Contaminated by The Wicked.
Watch yourself that you make no covenant with the inhabitants of the land into which you are going, or it will become a snare in your midst.
(Exodus 34: 12)
- Tear Down Idols. We will destroy their idols and false worship. The Bible has no toleration for accommodation.
Remove Idolatry.
But rather, you are to tear down their altars and smash their sacred pillars and cut down their Asherim.
(Exodus 34: 13)
If you live in a pluralistic society you cannot destroy the property of other religions, but you should in no way support it or allow it in your private homes or organizations or have your children subjected to it.
Do not entertain yourselves with this knowledge, but steer clear of idolatry and paganism creeping into our activities.
- Accidental Compromise. If you do not eradicate evil, then you will have to compromise with it later to save face or save feelings by being polite or politically correct.
Evil Infiltrates.
Otherwise you might make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land and they would play the harlot with their gods and sacrifice to their gods,
Save Feelings. and someone might invite you to eat of his sacrifice.
(Exodus 34: 15)
So be firm now, or rude later.
- Unleavened Bread. Leaven is a symbol of sin. We will actively remove sin from our lives.
No Sin.
You shall observe the feast of unleavened bread. For seven days you are to eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the appointed time in the month of Abib, for in the month of Abib you came out of Egypt.
(Exodus 34: 18)
- Firstborn. We will be born again as sons and daughters of God.
Children of God.
The first offspring from every womb belongs to Me, and all your male livestock, the first offspring of cattle and sheep.
(Exodus 34: 19)
- Breaking the Obstinate Spirit. We are like donkeys in every way. We are unclean because of our sins. We carry the burden of our sins with us like a donkey carrying a load.
We are stubborn!
Redeeming the Donkey.
You shall redeem with a lamb the first offspring from a donkey; and if you do not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. You shall redeem all the firstborn of your sons. None shall appear before Me empty-handed.
(Exodus 34: 20)
Israel is that nation of stubborn donkeys who are burdened with sins, whose first offspring is Jesus Christ.
We have been redeemed with the Lamb of God.
He will break the necks of all the wicked who spurn redemption.
- Sabbath. We will have rest from sin. This is what we received at the crucifixion.
The Day of Rest.
You shall work six days, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during plowing time and harvest you shall rest.
(Exodus 34: 21)
- Feast of Weeks and Ingathering. We wait for the Holy Spirit and do evangelism, looking forward to the last great harvest.
Harvesting Souls.
You shall celebrate the Feast of Weeks, that is, the first fruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the turn of the year.
(Exodus 34: 22)
- Males Attend Three Feasts. All the children of God will take part in these three important feasts.
Our sins must be washed away and we must eat from the life of Christ.
Then we must take the Holy Spirit and gather souls so that we all might come to live with God.
- Blood Offering. Jesus did not offer His blood as a sinner and He was buried the same day He died.
Gethsemane and Calvary.
You shall not offer the blood of My sacrifice with leavened bread, nor is the sacrifice of the feast of the Passover to be left over until morning.
(Exodus 34: 25)
When He gave His blood in Gethsemane, the sinful disciples kept falling asleep and were not with Him.
- First Fruits of the Dead. He brought some of the dead with Him.
Fruit of the Soil.
You shall bring the very first of the firstfruits of your soil into the house of the Lord your God. ...
(Exodus 34: 25)
- Mother's Milk. Jesus was separated from His mother before He became the goat of the sin offering.
.
... You shall not boil a young goat in its mother's milk.
(Exodus 34: 26)
- Shining Face. When Moses returned from the mountain his face was shining because he had spoken with God. However, the people were afraid of him.
Fear.
So when Aaron and all the sons of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him.
(Exodus 34: 30)
- Veiled Face. So he veiled his face when he was with them, but took off the veil in the presence of God.
Masking Fear.
the sons of Israel would see the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone. So Moses would replace the veil over his face until he went in to speak with Him.
(Exodus 34: 35)
» The Nation With Unveiled Faces.
The proper response of those who turn to God is to cast aside all fear and to embrace the physical transformation that is taking place when our hearts are transformed.
No Fear.
but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.
(2 Corinthians 3: 16-18)
When we turn to God in complete trust and banish our fears, we will be completely transformed.
- Building The Sanctuary (Chapter 35-39).
When the skilled craftsmen made the sanctuary they did it in this order.
It represents how we are born again, individually.
- The Tent. The tent is the body. Since the body is already here it must be a recreation.
It was described in this order. Blue linen covering, goat's hair, red ram skin, porpoise skin).
Boards and sockets (south, north and west), bars, rings, veil for Most Holy Place and four pillars, hooks and sockets,
screen for Holy Place, five pillars, hooks and sockets.
- Ark of the Covenant And The Mercy Seat. We join in the covenant and the mercy of God covers us.
- Table of Shewbread. We have the bread and wine as symbols of the covenant until the Second Coming.
- Menorah. We go out as a light to the world when we read the word of God.
- Altar Of Incense. Prayer is our way of communicating with God.
- Bronze Altar. We must die to sin.
- Bronze Laver. Our sins must be washed away by the Holy Spirit.
- Garments. We cover our nakedness and become the nation who are "Holy to the Lord" in their hearts and minds and actions.
Bezaleel is a type of Jesus Christ. They received the skill and wisdom to build the sanctuary through excellent craftsmanship with gold and precious gems.
As the sanctuary, Jesus built His kingdom in this order.
He built the gold items in Gethsemane and the bronze on Calvary.
- The Tent. The tent is the body which He was about to submit.
- Ark of the Covenant And The Mercy Seat. He obtained mercy for us in Gethsemane where an angel came to minister to Him.
- Table of Shewbread. In the garden He offered His broken body which spilled blood through His pores.
- Menorah. By His example He became a light.
- Altar Of Incense. He prayed for our forgiveness.
- Bronze Altar. On the cross He was the sacrifice, the priest and the altar.
- Bronze Laver. On the cross, blood and water poured out of His side.
- Garments. He was wrapped in clean white linen on His death.
- Erecting And Consecrating The Sanctuary (Chapter 40).
This represents the corporate recreation of the entire church in the final year on earth. The facts indicate that it begins to happen on Nisan 1.
Nisan 1 (New Year).
On the first day of the first month you shall set up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting.
Now in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, the tabernacle was erected.
(Exodus 40: 2,17)
Other prophecies indicate that it will end during the Feast of Tabernacles at the Second Coming.
Moses set up the tabernacle in almost the same order that the people made it.
- Tabernacle Erected. This is the order in which it was erected. The base, sockets, boards, bars, pillars, tent and the coverings over the tent, veil to the Most Holy Place, furniture, screen for the Holy Place door.
- Ark of the Covenant. The commandments were put in the ark and covered with the mercy seat and transported inside the temple.
- Inner Veil. The screen was erected. Rather than being a separation between heaven and earth, this is a protection of the covenant that has been made.
- The Holy Place. The next structures show the activities that must be performed by the priests.
- Table of Shewbread (Seder). The table was arranged with bread and placed on the north wall. We must eat the bread and drink the wine to remember the acts of Christ until He comes.
- Menorah (Bible Study). The menorah was placed on the south wall and lighted. We must study the Word of God and share it with the world that is in darkness.
- Gold Altar (Prayer). The altar of incense was placed in front of the veil and incense was burned on it. We must pray continually.
- Outer Veil. Like the covenant, we must also protect the duties we have behind this veil. They require daily attention.
- Altar of sacrifice. A burnt offering and meal offering were made on the altar at the crucifixion.
- Laver (Baptism). The Holy Spirit washes our sins away. We indicate this choice by baptism.
Holy Spirit.
He placed the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in for washing.
From it Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet.
(Exodus 40: 30-31)
We submit to baptism to symbolize the work of the Holy Spirit. One day we will be thoroughly clean when His work is done.
We accept moral failure too easily, constantly saying, "we are only human, nobody is perfect" as if this is our destiny.
Well God has provided a way to perfection that can be achieved in the Outer Court.
- Court. A fence was erected around the Outer Court with a veil for a gate. This represents the church that is set apart in the world.
When we signal our adoption into this community by baptism, we enter into these courts.
- Anoint Tabernacle. When the structure was finished, the tabernacle was consecrated with oil, representing the Holy Spirit.
We are anointed in oil because we have been cleaned with water.
- Priests are Consecrated.
This process takes seven days, then the Lord appears on the eighth day.
Wash Priests With Water.
Then you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the doorway of the tent of meeting and wash them with water.
You shall put the holy garments on Aaron and anoint them and consecrate them that he may minister as a priest to me.
(Exodus 40: 12-13)
Jesus washes the feet of the disciples to anoint the first priests of the New Covenant.
» Dress and Anoint High Priest. Christ is anointed as the High Priest.
» Dress and Anoint His Sons. The nation of priests put on the righteousness of Christ.
The Children of the High Priest.
You shall bring his sons and put tunics on them.
And you shall anoint them even as you have anointed their father, that they may minister as priests to Me; and their anointing will qualify them for a perpetual priesthood throughout their generations.
(Exodus 40: 14-15)
» Latter Rain. The Anointing that qualifies the chidren is the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the final generation.
- Cloud.
The sequence of events are the same as the Second Coming.
The Lord appears after the priests are consecrated.
When this happens there is no more intercession in the temple because there is no access and it starts at the beginning of the 7 last plagues.
Then Jesus appears in a cloud to see His priests and we are taken up into the clouds with Him in the rapture on our journey to heaven.
It is Finished!
He erected the court all around the tabernacle and the altar, and hung up the veil for the gateway of the court. Thus Moses finished the work.
(Exodus 40: 33)
God Comes In The Cloud (Latter Rain).
Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
No More Access.
Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
(Exodus 40: 34-35)
Rapture (Taken Up In The Clouds).
Throughout all their journeys whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the sons of Israel would set out.
But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out until the day when it was taken up.
(Exodus 40: 36-37)
The Cloud Rests Over Us.
For throughout all their journeys, the cloud of the Lord was on the tabernacle by day, and there was fire in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel.
(Exodus 40: 38)
So the Plan of salvation, took a nation and made them priests to the world.
Then He takes the world and makes them priests to the universe.
Since no other nation or planet or creature knows from experience the depth of the love of God, His mercy and character as we do, we deserve to be a planet of priests to the universe, representing the evidence of the merciful character of God.

Throughout our history the covenant of life has been delivered in a vessel by an appointed messenger.
- Covenant. The system was designed to deliver the covenant of life.
The covenant was the promise to a tiny nation on the verge of death, of a permanent method to restore righteousness and life, giving the ability to become a great nation who live in the fiery presence of God without being consumed.
- Protected The Messenger Of The Covenant. A messenger was given the covenant and the ark protected the covenant and the messenger.
- Adam And Eve. The covenant began when Eve was promised a son through her seed who would defeat the forces of darkness and deliver us back to Eden.
- Noah's Ark. When evil engulfed the world God saved eight people and renewed the covenant with them.
- Ark Of The Covenant. The formal, written covenant was placed in a gold box.
- Priest And Sanctuary. The covenant was placed in a house, attended to by priests.
- Tefillin. Worn by the people, it is a sign or demonstration of how the law will be written into our minds.
- Jesus. He is the Messenger and Promised Seed and Saviour who would protect us from the wrath of sin and demonstrate that the law can be written into the minds and hearts of the children of men.
- The Human Mind. This is the ark that must be transformed if we are to achieve righteousness from within.
The tefillin demonstrates how the Holy Spirit changes the frontal lobe where we make moral decisions.
- The New Jerusalem. It is a city populated by righteous people.
- Sign Of The Covenant. Each renewal of the covenant came with a sign of what righteousness will accomplish.
- Circumcision. The sign is cut in the flesh showing that we would be cut off from sin by writing the law in the flesh.
That power is somehow written into the frontal lobes and the hormonal systems near the region of the pituitary so that we can conquer our hunger, thirst, greed, risk taking and passions.
- Hand Tefillin. Doing righteousness is a sign that we are thinking righteously.
SHEMA.
Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one!
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart.
...
You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead.
(Deuteronomy 6: 4-6, 8)
- Miracles. The power of God guarantees that the covenant will be fulfilled.
- Rainbow. This sign is a promise that the wrath of God will never overflow like a flood again.
- Stars. The sign to a childless and aging Abraham was a promise of countless children from his body.
- Coffin (Enclosed Box). The ark was an enclosed box like a coffin, protecting its precious cargo.
- Jesus. He was given a weakened human body, the place where the covenant will ultimately be written to produce a nation of righteous people.
Human Body.
Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
(Hebrews 10: 5)
- Head Tefillin. It visibly demonstrates the scientific process through which we will be mentally changed.
God will write His law in our minds just as the new covenant promises.
- Sella Turcica. The bone box at the base of the skull which protects the master gland - pituitary.
- The Human Mind. This is the ultimate goal of the process of salvation - changing the human mind so that only righteousness flows out.
- Covered In Black/pitch. The ark was covered in black or surrounded by darkness which acted as a shield against the advancing waters.
- Moses And Noah. Both used pitch as waterproofing.
Noah.
Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
(Genesis 6: 14)
Moses.
And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink.
(Exodus 2: 3)
- Levites. Although the verb "pitch" is different from the noun, yet the act of surrounding the sanctuary like a covering describes the work of the Levites who shielded the people from wrath.
God will control His anger against sin through the intercession of the priest.
Human Shield.
But the Levites shall pitch round about the tabernacle of testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of testimony.
(Numbers 1: 53)
- Jesus Christ.
When Jesus was fulfilling the covenant darkness surrounded Him everywhere.
There were the sinners, like a ferocious mob surrounding Him, the darkness of loneliness in His inability to sense the Father and then there was physical darkness.
Wrath was being poured out on Him as a consequence of sin.
And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
(Mark 15: 33)
- Abraham.
Many symbols of darkness are here - setting sun, deep sleep, terror and great darkness.
Deep Darkness.
Now when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold, terror and great darkness fell upon him.
(Genesis 15: 12)
- Internal Law. The ark contained the covenant which was the perfect will and law of God that sustains life. This is either a copy of the law or the people who keep the law from the righteousness within.
An Eternal Covenant.
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Covenant Cut In Stone. Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:
Covenant Cut In The Flesh. But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
(Jeremiah 31: 31-34)
Abraham's internal righteousness would become important.
Righteousness By Faith.
Then he believed in the Lord; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness.
(Genesis 15: 6)
- Water. The ark protected it contents while passing through waters.
Waters are good if they do not overflow their boundaries.
So the waters are not necessarily evil, but can cause harm if they overflow. God's rising anger at sin is like a rising flood. When it erupts He protects His righteous from His own wrath.
- Fire.
If the righteous survive the rising tide of wrath then they are ready for the ultimate test by fire when they see Him face to face.
The have an ordeal by fire when they approach the presence of God. Only they can live in the consuming fire.
In the end the wicked experience it as hell fire.
Fire Proof.
The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;
(Isaiah 33: 14-15)
Oven And Torch.
It came about when the sun had set, that it was very dark, and behold, there appeared a smoking oven and a flaming torch which passed between these pieces.
(Genesis 15: 17)
- Mountain. The ark found a resting place on a mountain.
Abraham's covenant was broad. It covered his inheritance of land between the waters and it promised children as numerous as the stars.
So his mountain was the heavens and his waters were from the Nile to the Euphrates.
The Dry Land Between The Rivers.
On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying,
"To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates:"

The instructions end with the Sabbath and the construction begins with the Sabbath.
The dedication is on the new moon (Nisan 1). We do not know if this is a Sabbath but new moons and Sabbath days are the time to come to worship God

The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law.
