Symbols
This section of Revelation introduces God in the Feast of Tabernacles.
While the righteous live with God, Satan and the dead bodies of the wicked are confined to earth.
God forces him to inherit the sanctuary he created.
The Bible says that "the meek shall inherit the earth". Apparently the wicked will also inherit the earth as dust under our feet.
The symbols used are specifically from the fifth curse.
The people will be exiled so that the land can enjoy its Sabbaths.
The righteous are exiled to heaven.
The wicked are exiled to the grave.
The land enjoys the 6000 years of annual Sabbaths that have not been kept.
The people in heaven keep the 6000 years of weekly Sabbaths that have not been kept.
It is Satan who prevented their rest and he is confined on the largest prison planet as a prisoner of war.
Let us review what has happened before the thousand years began.
- Persecution. The church has been persecuted because they would not accept the mark of the beast.
- Armageddon. The wicked surround the saints and try to kill them during the sixth plague.
- Second Coming. Christ rescues them and all the righteous dead in the seventh plague. He kills the wicked and imprisons Satan.
Our study of Revelation 20 and the Millennium can be divided into three main sections:
- Beginning. What takes place at the beginning of the 1000 years?
- During. What takes place during the 1000 years?
- End. What takes place at the end of the 1000 years?

The Beginning Of The 1000 Years
The Return Of Christ As The Conquering Messiah
The 1000 year period begins with the return of Christ. Several scriptures tell us that Christ will return as the conquering Messiah, and that all men alive will see Him when He does. Christ's return will not be something only the few will know about, with the righteous being "secretly raptured". All mankind will know when He returns:
Look, he comes with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
(Revelation 1: 7)
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
(Matthew 24: 30. See also Mark 13: 26, Luke 21: 27)
The First Resurrection
| The Transfiguration |
On the Mount of Transfiguration, Jesus took Peter, James and John up on the mountain to pray, and the disciples saw Moses and Elias (Elijah) talking with Jesus.
This is a symbol of the two classes that will be with Jesus, the resurrected dead, and the translated living:
Moses. He represented the resurrected dead. (Remember in Jude 1: 9, we learn that the Devil disputed about the body of Moses. So Moses was resurrected).
Elijah.
He represented the translated living. (Remember how Elijah was taken up to heaven alive in a chariot of fire. 2 Kings 2: 11)

At Christ's return, the righteous dead will be resurrected from the grave, and gathered by the Angels to meet Him in the air.
This is all those who have died "in Christ" since the beginning, since the Garden of Eden.
Then, the righteous that are living at His return will be "caught up with them". This is called the rapture.
The Coming. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
(1 Thessalonians 4: 16-17)
The Gathering. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
(Matthew 24: 31).
The Change (Rapture). In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
(1 Corinthians 15: 52-53)
Living In Heaven.
Revelation 20: 6 says those who are resurrected will reign with Christ for the 1000 years. They reign with Christ in Heaven, not on earth.
There they will be kings and priests of God.
Christ is already in heaven reigning at the "right hand of God".
Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him."
(1 Peter 3: 22)
(See Acts 7:55-56, Romans 8:34, Hebrews 1:3, Hebrews 8:1, Hebrews 10:12, Hebrews 12:2).
Christ told us that He would come for His followers, that we could be where He is:
In my Father's house are many mansions: if not, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
(John 14: 2-3)
For our citizenship is in Heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
(Philippians 3: 20)
Wicked Dead Remain Dead
That the righteous dead are "raised first" (1 Thessalonians 4: 16) corresponds well with the statement that "the rest of the dead lived not again until the end of the 1000 years" (Revelation 20: 5). As we have already studied, the wicked dead are not part of the "first resurrection" (Revelation 20: 5-6).
Christ also taught that there would be two resurrections:
"Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, to the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, to the resurrection of damnation."
(John 5: 28-29)
The Wicked Living Are Destroyed
We have previously studied that the wicked cannot exist in the "fire of God's glory", and how that at Christ's return, the wicked will be slain by the glory of His presence.
And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming:
(2 Thessalonians 2: 8)
Vengeance. and to grant rest with us to you who are afflicted, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance upon those who do not know God and upon those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
(2 Thessalonians 1: 7-8 )
In Revelation 19: 17-21 we saw that the wicked were slain. This is the seventh plague in Revelation 16: 16-21. Jeremiah refers to the same period:
Unburied. A noise shall come to the ends of the earth; for the Lord has a controversy with the nations, He will plead with all flesh; He will give those that are wicked to the sword, says the Lord. This says the Lord of hosts, Look, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth. And the slain of the Lord shall be at that day from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.
(Jeremiah 25: 31-33)
The Day of the Lord. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
(Revelation 6: 14-17)
The Earth Is Desolated (The Undoing of Creation).
At Christ's return, all human life upon the earth will be eliminated for the 1000 years. The righteous dead have been resurrected, and along with the translated righteous living, will live and reign with Christ in Heaven (Revelation 20: 6). The wicked dead (those already dead, and those destroyed at Christ's Coming) "lived not again until the end of the 1000 years" (Revelation 20: 5).

Darkness.
I saw the earth, and, look, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. I saw the mountains, and, look, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. I looked, and there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. I looked, and the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities there were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce anger. For this has the Lord said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.
(Jeremiah 4: 23-27)
- No Light On The Earth.
There could be several reasons why this could occur. They could happen simultaneously.
- Nuclear Winter.
Jeremiah describes a shaking planet without light.
What he saw was not a time when there is no sun, he probably saw a period of nuclear winter.
This occurs with the eruption of a supervolcano or when an asteroid of half to one kilometer strikes the earth throwing a dust cloud and debris into the atmosphere, blocking sunshine and affecting the global climate.
It is consistent with what happens on the earth at the Second Coming.
Just as water came from within the earth and the sky in the flood, hail and fire can come from within the earth and from the impact of large asteroids.
A continuusly erupting volcano could supply the dust that blots out the sun.
- Black Dwarf.
If the fourth plague is the process of the sun becoming a red giant and then a black dwarf during the fifth plague,
then there would be no light during the millennium.
Both this and the nuclear winter could exist on earth.
The transformation of the sun from a red giant to a black dwarf within months or weeks is possible.
- Polar Shift. The earth could fall down on its axis into a retrograde orbit so that the northern hemisphere is always away from the sun (Isaiah 24: 19-23).
- Yet Will I Not Make A Full End.
Christ did not make the "full end" of the earth at this time, or of the judgments. The earth is desolate, but it is not fully destroyed. The judgments of the wicked remain to be carried out after the 1000 years, after the second resurrection (the resurrection of damnation).
See, the Lord will lay waste the earth and make it desolate, and he will twist its surface and scatter its inhabitants." ... "The earth shall be utterly laid waste and utterly despoiled; for the Lord has spoken this word.
(Isaiah 24: 1, 3)
- The Vengeance Of God. The result is global devastation.
For this the earth shall mourn and the heavens above be dark, because I have spoken, I have purposed, and I will not change My mind, nor will I turn from it.
(Jeremiah 4: 28)
- The Earth Mourns. A mourning earth is covered with sackcloth and ashes. The burnt and smouldering surface of the earth is pure ashes. The black earth above is the veil of sackcloth.
- No More Chances! Many hope that a "loving God" will overlook their sins and save everyone so they can live life on their terms without repenting.
Although God experiences great sorrow at this moment, He will not change His mind. He cannot.
The wicked will never submit and will cause rebellion to plague the universe forever.
Satan Is Chained And Bound
| Bottomless Pit |
The Bottomless Pit is also known as the Abyss. It is the form of the chaotic earth before the creation.
The word translated "bottomless pit" or "pit" in these verses is the Greek word "Abussos", (Abyss). It is the same word used in the Greek translation of the Old Testament (the Septuagint) for "the deep" in Genesis 1: 2.
There, the surface of the earth as it appeared on the first day of creation ( "without form and void") was an abyss.
This is the same description of the earth by Jeremiah. (See Jeremiah 4: 23-27).

| Altar of Sacrifice.
Just as the lamb is bound on the altar. Satan is bound and chained on the earth when the whole earth becomes an altar.

Revelation describes the final event associated with Christ's return at the beginning of the 1000 years. Satan is bound in the "bottomless pit".
"And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
And threw him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
(Revelation 20: 1-3 )
Some people try to apply this literally, saying that Satan is literally placed in a bottomless pit
and bound with a literal chain and lock?
It is possible that when the earth is split, Satan could be trapped in the channel created between the two halves of the earth.
However, Revelation is a symbolic book and this symbol means much more.
Whatever this place is, he cannot leave it.
He has been effectively told to put on a dunce cap and "go sit in the corner" for one thousand years.
Sealed in a Tomb.
Just as Jesus was placed in a tomb with a seal over it, Satan is now sealed alive in his tomb.
The symbolism here is that, at the beginning of the Millennium, Satan is "bound" to the "Abyss", the void and formless, lifeless earth, for 1000 years. With no living human upon it, Satan has no one to tempt or lead into sin for the 1000 years. He can only wander about the "abyss" and see the outcome of his rebellion against God, and ponder God's final judgment upon him (Satan) for all the destruction and death he has created. Satan is "chained" by circumstances.
According to Isaiah 14, he will be stuck in a place with a lot of rotting corpses and maggots and worms will cover him.
Instead of walking among the stones of fire, he will be walking among corpses who will be on fire.
» The Wicked Angels.
It is unclear if he is alone or if the other evil angels are with him. They probably are.
I think that they should be stripped of their ability to travel and then be scattered around the earth.
Satan should be trapped alone for a part of the time. The wind should bring the sounds of his angels cursing him.
Then he should be forced to live with a group of cranky and disobedient angels.
But God has better plans.
Based on the fact that Jesus cast out demons who possessed humans we assume that there are devils free to roam around and cause evil just like Satan.
However, these verses seem to suggest that there are now angels chained in darkness, waiting for the judgment.
Pits of Darkness.
For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment.
(2 Peter 2: 4)
Chained in Darkness.
And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day.
(Jude 1: 6)
All these angels will eventually be destroyed by fire.
Eternal Fire.
Then He will also say to those on His left, "Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels."
(Matthew 25: 41)
- Cast In Darkness. So the angels who have already been cast into darkness may be those that freely roam the earth, but are now unable be righteous because the influence of the Spirit of God is missing in them.
The earth is the prison where they have been thrown down.
- Chained In Prison Now. Some angels might have chosen to go to prison so that they are not responsible for any more evil.
- Chained In Prison In The Millennium. Some angels might be roaming free and constantly plotting evil like Satan and it is now their turn to be imprisoned.
So this is now Satan's turn and they might not be very kind to him
The Scapegoat In The Wilderness
This is when the scapegoat is banished to the wilderness. This is the same serpent who is chained in the abyss.
On the day of atonement (judgment) the sins of Israel were finally removed.
In this ceremony two goats were used.
- The Lord's Goat. It was sacrificed.
- The Scape Goat. It was released alive into the wilderness.
The scapegoat did not represent Christ because it was not sacrificed for sin.
It does not represent us because, although we were also set free He removed our sins and does not remind us of our sins any more.
But he represents Satan during the millennium.
At the end of the day of atonement judgment, Satan will be released alive into the wilderness (the destroyed earth) and he is thrown off a cliff.
There he will be left to think about the sins that he has inspired.
He is the ultimate cause of all sin and he must die in the wilderness because of sin but not for sin.
Then Aaron shall lay both of his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over it all the iniquities of the sons of Israel
and all their transgressions in regard to all their sins;
and he shall lay them on the head of the goat and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who stands in readiness.
(Leviticus 16: 21)
Notice that the goat is not sacrificed for the sins of Israel.
But, it hears all the sins for which it is responsible and it must go into the wilderness to think about the destruction that he has caused.
» The Strong Man. The man who carries the goat into the wilderness is the angel who binds Satan.
And I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand.
And he took hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and satan, and bound him for a thousand years.
(Revelation 20: 1-2)
Satan Bites The Dust.
He eats the bread of his altar. This is the dust of the dead bodies. He cannot turn dust or stone to bread as he tempted Jesus to do.
This is his time of famine and cannibalism of the dead.
At this point Genesis 3: 14 is totally fulfilled.
The Lord God said to the serpent, Because you have done this, cursed are you more than all cattle,
And more than every beast of the field.
On your belly you will go, and dust you will eat all the days of your life.
(Genesis 3: 14)
Satan was cursed from the moment he tempted Eve. He would crawl around in the dust.
This confinement to the earth was in several stages.
He gradually loses access to heaven, then the sea (people) and finally the earth.
- No Access To Heaven. Revelation 12: 7-9 describes a war which caused Satan's removal from heaven and confinement to earth.
He can no longer tempt heaven or make accusations against us.
Banished! Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world will be thrown out. (John 12: 31)
Evicted! Now the salvation, and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before God day and night. (Revelation 12: 10)
» Scapegoat Thrown Off A Cliff. The cliff that Satan is thrown off is Mount Zion that He aspired to take by force.
- No Access To The Sea (People). This confinement increases when the people are removed. He can no longer tempt the people of the earth.
The sea is dried up and now Satan is confined to a barren earth. Here he will learn to crawl.
- No Access To The Earth.
After the judgment he will be thrown out of the earth and there will be no place left from him except eternal death.
Binding Leviathan
God takes vengeance because He is the only one with the power to overcome Leviathan.
- Leviathan Is Captured! No one in heaven or earth could capture this beast. Jesus conquered Him without force. Now Jesus will bind him with force.
Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?
Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn?
None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me?
Vengeance. Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine.
The Father Of The Proud. He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.
(Job 41: 1-2,10-11,34)
- The Many-Headed Dragon Named Leviathan.
Satan is the monster symbolized in Daniel and Revelation which has seven heads. He will be broken by God.
He will be food for the wicked who are stranded in the wilderness at the second resurrection.
Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.
Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.
(Psalm 74: 13-14)
- Punishing Leviathan. Jesus returns with a sword in His mouth to wage war. He will punish Leviathan for 1000 years and then exterminate him at the end.
In that day the Lord with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.
(Isaiah 27: 1)
- Binding The Strong Man. He is bound so that God can reclaim the property he has stolen.
Taking Away The Dominion Of Satan.
No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
(Mark 3: 27)
Leviathan Tested In The Wilderness
At the heart of Satan's rebellion is the claim and desire to be God.
Now that he is in his wilderness experience it is time for him to be tested just as he tested Jesus at the beginning of His public ministry (Matthew 4: 3-9).
At the Second Coming Satan gets his chance to prove that he is God.
- Stone To Bread (Resurrect Me!). Bread is a symbol of the broken body.
Life From Death.
And the tempter came and said to Him, "If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread".
(Matthew 4: 3)
So Satan, If you are God, then turn these broken, scattered, hard, dead bones into life.
Less Than A Second.
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
(1 Corinthians 15:52)
God raises us up in less than a second, "in the twinkling of an eye". Satan is banished with his dead and he is given 1000 years to try to raise his dead. Dr Frankenstupid fails miserably!
After the 1000 years it is God who raises the wicked.
- Jump Off The Mountain (Rescue Me!). "Throw yourself from the cliff called Mount Zion and see if God catches you".
Better yet, if you are God then try to reclaim Mount Zion.
Kill Yourself. God Will Save You.
Then the devil took Him to the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw yourself down" ...
(Matthew 4: 5-6)
In fact even death will flee from Satan (Revelation 9: 6). He will want to die but finds it impossible to kill himself. He does not get to check out on his own terms. He will have no rest.
God does not catch him in his fall. It is God who binds Satan and throws Him off Mount Zion into the great abyss.
When Satan tries to capture Mount Zion at the end God destroys Him with fire.
- Worship Me (Give Me The World!). Satan's world is death. "I can give you the world if you worship me".
The Tomb.
And the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, "All these things I will give You if You fall down and worship me".
(Matthew 4:8-9)
God gives Satan the world for 1000 years.
Sadly, the wicked find that Satan is a squatter. He has nothing. He can build nothing. All he can give them is the grave and Jesus is even now the ruler of the dead.
They worshipped Satan and have now received an eviction notice.
The righteous receive the world as their inheritance.
Leviathan On Display In Disgrace
At the end of His ministry, Jesus was assaulted by Satan again.
Look at the contrast between Jesus on the cross and Satan in Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28.
- Perfection And Iniquity. No sin was found in the perfect Jesus. Satan was found to be the source of sin.
Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
(Ezekiel 28: 15)
- Bound. Jesus was bound and led to his trial. Satan was chained and bound on earth to be tried by humans.
Bound In The Abyss.
Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
(Isaiah 14: 15)
- Lifted Up. Whenever Satan lifts up anything he brings disgrace.
Satan lifted himself up and brought disgrace to himself and his followers. He was full of ugliness and stupidity.
Jesus was lifted up on the cross to be disgraced.
In His wisdom, God allowed this to show the contrast between the ugly and the beautiful, between light and darkness.
Lifted Up In Disgrace.
Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness ...
(Ezekiel 28: 17)
- Sanctuary Defiled. Jesus' sanctuary was treated as defiled and defaced and destroyed, but it was rebuilt in three days because he was found to be without sin.
While the wicked will be raised to life for the judgment, Satan's body will never, ever be raised because he is the source and cesspool of sin.
Terminally Defiled By Sin.
Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick ...
(Ezekiel 28: 18)
- Burnt Offering. Jesus was the burnt offering, yet He was not burned up. Why? This is because He was the indestructible offering who could stand in the middle of the fires of God without being burnt?
He can survive in the presence of God the Father. Satan cannot. He will be burnt to ashes.
.
... therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
(Ezekiel 28: 18)
- Cast Down. Jesus came to the earth in the form of a Man - dust of the earth. When He suffered as the "Son of man" he fell to the ground with His burden.
Satan was cast to the ground and chained to it in the millennium.
Tossed Out Like Garbage.
... I will cast thee to the ground ...
(Ezekiel 28: 17)
- A Shameful Universal Spectacle. Satan arranged this shameful spectacle at the crucifixion. What WAS he thinking!
His hatred was so strong he abandoned all sound judgment. While Jesus was held up to shame before the world, Satan was held in contempt by the universe. So they threw the bastard out!
He Did What!
All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee ...
(Ezekiel 28: 19)
- Terror. Jesus was in terror in Gethsemane and on Calvary, but He lives forever! Satan will be terrified.
Satan Terrified? Sound Of Music!
... thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.
(Ezekiel 28: 19)
- Trial Before Kings. Jesus had an unjust trial before the rulers. He came before the priests, Herod, Pilate and the Sanhedrin which were from the tribe of Judah. All judged Him.
Disgraced Before Kings.
... I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
(Ezekiel 28: 17)
Satan is tried by the entire human race, both the righteous who have been made kings and the wicked who followed him. He is found guilty by a jury of his peers.
All sinners, repentant or not, will condemn him.
- The Branch. Satan is not allowed to die like the rest of the wicked. He must live with the results of death before he dies the first death.
He will seek death and not find it during the millennium. How abominable must one be if even death flees from him?
Rejected By The Grave.
But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch ...
(Isaiah 14: 19)
- Clothed In Disgrace.
Jesus was clothed like a king so that He could be mocked. Then He was stripped naked and treated with contempt, but in His death He was treated like royalty.
Satan is clothed in the stench and covering of the dead. He will probably feel the suffering he inflicted on Job.
Clothed With Maggots And Rotting Flesh. ... and as the raiment of those that are slain ...
(Isaiah 14: 19)
- Pierced With A Sword. Jesus was pierced with a Roman sword after His death.

... thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.
(Isaiah 14: 19)
- Behold The Man (Ecce Homo). Innocent! Beaten, bloody, crowned with thorns, dressed for ridicule Jesus was presented to the crowd.
Behold the Man who IS God!
Who Is guilty?
Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.
Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!
When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.
Behold The Real King.
And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!
(John 19: 4-6, 14)

Now, in the millennium, we can contrast Jesus with Satan. Who is the scapegoat? Who is the destroyer?
Jesus is the innocent Lord's Goat. Now it is time for the scapegoat to be exposed.
- The Earth Trembles. When the earth trembled Jesus freed the dead from their graves and brought them to life. When the earth trembles after Satan's appearance it causes destruction and death.
Is This The man.
They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
(Isaiah 14: 16)
- Destroyed The Earth. While Jesus is the creator and will recreate the earth, Satan destroyed everything.
Is This The man.
... that made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof ...?
(Isaiah 14: 17)
- Unable To Free His Prisoners. Jesus freed some of the dead at His death and more at His resurrection and took possession of the keys of death and hell to free all the righteous at the Second Coming.
Satan cannot free the dead in 1000 years.
The Man Without The Keys.
Is this the man ... that opened not the house of his prisoners?
(Isaiah 14:17)
The Possessor Of The Keys.
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
(Revelation 1: 18)
Satan cannot open the house of the dead because Jesus has the keys.
- Worms And Maggots. Jesus was guaranteed that the worms would not defile His body in death. However, while he is still alive Satan cannot escape the maggots of the dead and decaying that cover the entire earth.
Maggots are the bed that he lies in and maggots are his covering. The stench of death constantly surrounds Him, while Jesus was bathed in perfume and sweet spices in His death.

Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.
(Isaiah 14: 11)
- The Plagues. The seven last plagues occur in the year preceding the Second Coming. This sequence and pattern suggests that Satan may be responsible, at least for the first four plagues.
He pours out his contempt on the human race, rejoicing over those he is able to trap in his snare.
This is the law he designed in the curses. Now those instructions are being carried out.
The Wrath Of Satan.
He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth.
(Isaiah 14: 6)
Now that Satan is suffering under his own rules nobody cares. Nobody tries to stop it because he never stopped beating us. He inspired pedophiles, sexual slavery of newborns, rapists, serial killers, torture, murder and slavery. We can only hope that the angels bound with him will subject him to the same humiliation.
Drink your own cup, you filthy dog!
- Sabbath Rest. Jesus rested in the grave. The earth and the wicked rest for 1000 years. Satan has no rest.
The Earth Rests.
The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.
(Isaiah 14: 7)
- The Seed.
While the seed of Jesus lives forever, Satan's seed are destroyed.
Infertile. Stillborn. Aborted.
Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.
Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.
For I will rise up against them, saith the Lord of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the Lord.
(Isaiah 14: 20-22)
During The 1000 Years
Satan wanted the throne of God so that he could rule the universe.
Now he gets to rule the dead because all he ever produced was death.
For 1000 years he gets to face the fact that he is not God. All his human followers are dead. He cannot raise the dead. He cannot make life. He cannot recreate the planet.
He probably cannot even build a sturdy house to live in during those years.
He has to face the fact that his own pride and rebellion caused the ruin of the earth and the loss of one third of the angels.
During the 1000 years these same angels will make his life miserable.
You wanted the earth, now you got it, brother! Enjoy!
Real justice would demand that he live with all the limitations of a human for at least as long as the oldest living human.
He will feel hatred, hunger, pain, disease, heat and cold. Maggots and flies will feed on his putrid sores.
He will suffer the terms of the curse that he imposed on us.
On his throne of death he will have fallen angels constantly threatening, cursing and blaming him.
He will serve out his sentence in fear and trembling with no assurance of his life and he will go mad. I think that they should crucify him over and over again and make malicious sport of him just as he did the humans.
He should flee in fear of violent pedophiles, rapists and torturers. When he is "restored" to power by the second resurrection, he should suffer these indignities at the hand of lost men.
He will work hard to feed himself and to stay secure.
He will long for death, but even death will flee far from him.
He will constantly be assaulted with the stench of the flesh of his dead children, and in hunger he will be forced to cannibalize them.
Ironically, it is only the mercy of God that will free him from his torment by putting an end to his miserable life.
Judgment By The Righteous In Heaven With Christ
Beheaded For The Gospel.
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given to them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
(Revelation 20: 4)

Since 2004, in the war in Iraq Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi has used publicized beheadings as a way to terrorize victims.
By 2007, Mexican drug cartels were using this tactic to inflict terror and to publicize it on the internet.
So it will probably be used against the church during the persecution.

What will we be doing for 1000 years?
- Judgment.
As we already noted in the previous section, the righteous will live and reign with Christ in Heaven for the 1000 years. During this time "judgment was given to them". The saints will be shown the "records of heaven". They will be able to see why those that are in Heaven are there, and why
others are not in Heaven. God will give them the 1000 years to see that "His judgments are righteous and just".
Do you not know that the saints shall judge the world? And if the world shall be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know you not that we shall judge angels? How much more things that pertain to this life?
(1 Corinthians 6: 2-3)
The saints in Heaven will even have the opportunity to "judge angels". These are those fallen angels who followed Satan in starting the Great Controversy that has plagued the earth and man for so long.
- Questions Answered. One consequence of the judgment is that we will have all our questions answered about the origin of sin and the acts of God and why some we admired are lost and others we did not expect were saved.
- Reign. We will be "kings and priests" and we will reign with Christ. So we will not be kings over each other, instead we will be like ambassadors to the rest of the creation.
- Living. While we have much to teach the rest of the universe about faith and trust, we also have much to learn and unlearn.
- Preparing For the Third Coming. We will be preparing for the final judgment and for eternal life on the new planet earth.
- Builders. While we all have an apartment, townhouse or condominium prepared for us in heaven, they are only our temporary and vacation homes. On earth we will have the pleasure of designing and building our own homes. That is more fun and more creative than having one given to us.
- Farming and Gardening. We will learn the principles of farming and outdoor design. Remember that God commanded Adam to dress up the garden of Eden.
- Science. We will learn science and technology.
- Travel. We will travel across the universe to meet the rest of the creation.
- Rest. We will be having a long sabbath rest and a well-deserved vacation.
In Prison! Satan During The 1000 Years
In our discussion so far, we have seen that Satan (and most likely his evil angels) are bound upon the desolate earth for the 1000 years, with no one to tempt, and nothing to do but to consider the "fruits" of their rebellion.
This is the description of that time in Isaiah 24: 19-23.

What would make the earth "reel like a drunkard" like a spinning top at the end of its rotation?
- Asteriod Strike. If it is struck by a massive asteroid that knocks it off its axis, then it wobbles like a falling top.
- Reduced Speed. The rotation of the earth is slowing down at the rate of 0.83 seconds per year. Like a spinning top, when the reduced rotation reaches a certain speed, it becomes unstable and "reels around" like a drunkard.

King of Babylon. Disgraced king of the wicked.

At the Second Coming, the wicked who are alive will be killed, but not buried.
The wicked who are dead will remain dead, unaware of what has just happened.
And much as is it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment.
so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without sin to those who eagerly await Him.
(Hebrews 9: 27, 28)
So all the wicked receive the first death and they remain dead during the 1000 years (Revelation 20: 5).
Their bodies are not buried and they will be eaten by birds and animals.
The Feast of Birds.

"Assemble and come, gather from every side to My sacrifice which I am going to sacrifice for you,
as a great sacrifice on the mountains of Israel, that you may eat flesh and drink blood.

After the Second Coming the birds will eat all the rotting, dead bodies that litter the surface of the earth.
Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice,
saying to all the birds which fly in mid-heaven, "Come, assemble for the great supper of God,
so that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of commanders and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of horses
and of those who sit on them and the flesh of all men, both free men and slaves, and small and great."
(Revelation 19: 17-18)
During the millennium, we can see the earth with the decaying dead as Satan is being punished.
No one will extinguish the fires and whatever the birds do not eat, the worms will eat the remains of the corpses until they are consumed.

Then they will go forth and look on the corpses of the men who have transgressed against Me. For their worm will not die, and their fire will not be quenched, and they will be an abhorrence to all mankind.
(Isaiah 66: 24)
Jeremiah and Isaiah describe prophetically the condition of the world during this time. It is desolate.
But even the grave rejects Satan so that he can see the results of his rebellion.
He walks among rotting corpses instead of among the stones of fire at the Throne of God as he contemplates the fact that Christ is the selected Branch.
The Rejected Branch (Destined to be Firewood).
All the kings of the earth lie in glory, each in his own tomb.
But you have been thrown out of your tomb like a rejected branch, clothed with the slain who are pierced with a sword,
who go down to the stones of the pit like a trampled corpse.
(Isaiah 14: 18-19)
At The End Of The 1000 Years
The Third Coming: The New Jerusalem Comes To Earth
A City From Heaven.
At the end of the 1000 years, Christ will return to earth, with His saints and with the New Jerusalem. These are the righteous that have been with Him in Heaven since the first resurrection.
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away; and there is no longer any sea.
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. ... And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.
(Revelation 21: 1-2, 10)
The Third Coming is to all the wicked what the Second Coming is to all the righteous.
The wicked will also have their chance to see Jesus Christ coming in power and great glory.
A City Located in the Old Jerusalem.
Zechariah predicted the same event and he identifies the exact location where the city will descend.
The Heavenly Jerusalem comes down in the valley cleaved out of the Mount of Olives.
And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the middle of it toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. And you shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach to Azal: yes, you shall flee, like as you fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah:
Christ Comes with the Saints. and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with you.
(Zechariah 14: 4-5)
A City Made by God.
This is the city where Christ had gone "to prepare a place". We could not go there after the resurrection of Christ. But we could go there after the Second Coming when
He "comes again" to receive us.
Do not let your heart be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in Me. In my Father's house are many dwelling places.
If it were not so I would have told you, for I go to prepare a place for you.
If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.
(John 14: 1-3)

This is where the saints had lived for the 1000 years.
This is the heavenly city that Abraham was looking for.
By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing where he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God." ... "But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he has prepared for them a city.
(Hebrews 11: 8-10, 16)

The Righteous.
This is why the sacrificial animal must be one that chews the cud.
He must be able to bring up the seed from the bowels of his stomach.
This is why Christ compares His experience to that of Jonah who was vomited out of the belly of the fish.

The Wicked. Now we find that the earth has a covenant with God to vomit up the dead.
The question is, which vomit will you be in?

The Second Resurrection
At the end of the 1000 years, the Wicked Dead are resurrected. (Revelation 20: 5, John 5: 28-29.)
Christ is the one who causes the resurrections, by calling the dead out of their graves. This suggests that Christ must be present when the dead are resurrected.
It is interesting to note that the 1000 years both begins with a resurrection (of the righteous) and ends with a resurrection (of the wicked).
It also begins and ends with a Coming of Christ.
While Chapter 20-21 discusses the events around the 1000 years, it does not specifically tell us that Christ returns at the end of the millennium.
It does teach about the coming of the Heavenly Jerusalem to earth at the Third Coming and that the wicked will surround it after the judgment.
We conclude that the rest of the dead are raised at the time the city descends.
The Land and Sea Vomit up the Wicked.
For the land has become defiled; Therefore I brought its punishment upon it,
so the land has vomited out all its inhabitants.
(Leviticus 18: 25)
The land gives up the dead so that they can be punished. That is the law.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades [the grave] gave up the dead which were in them;
and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds.
(Revelation 20: 13)
Satan Is Released And Deceives The Resurrected Wicked.
The resurrection of the wicked snaps Satan out of his long depression and he quickly moves to begin a life of
crime and deception and mischief.
This renewed activity will last for only a short time.
And threw him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
(Revelation 20: 3)
And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city,
and fire came down from heaven and devoured them.
(Revelation 20: 7-9)
In verse 3, Satan was bound so that he could not deceive the nations any more.
This was because all the wicked are dead. So notice what happens when they are resurrected. Satan is released again.
Therefore, the presence of absence of a group of wicked are the conditions that bind or release him.
Satan is "Released" from the Pit (the Abyss) because now that the wicked dead have been resurrected and are on the earth, he (Satan) once again has someone to tempt and deceive. And, as noted in Verse 8, Satan immediately sets out to "deceive the nations".
All the wicked, from all of earth's history, are resurrected. Satan gathers them together in preparation for one "last ditch" effort to overthrow Christ and the saints, to attack the New Jerusalem.
The Great White Throne Judgment (The Last Judgment).
It is at this time that the final Court is convened to judge the wicked. This shows them the judgments by which they were judged unworthy to enter Christ's holy City.
It is called the white throne judgment because of this text.
I kept looking until thrones were set up, and the Ancient of Days took His seat;
His vesture was like white snow and the hair of His head like pure wool.
His throne was ablaze with flames, its wheels like a burning fire.
A river of fire was flowing and coming out from before Him;
thousands and thousands were attending Him, and myriads upon myriads were standing before Him.
The court sat and the books were opened.
(Daniel 7: 9-10)
Three Phases Of Judgment.
There are three phases of judgment.
I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
(Daniel 7: 21-22, 26)
The little horn prevailed against the saints until the Ancient of Days sat for the judgment where the books were opened.
Notice verse 22 shows the sequence of three events for the saints. First the Ancient of Days sat for judgment. Next, judgment was given to the saints (millennium). Finally, the saints possessed the kingdom (after the third coming).
- The Ancient Of Days Judges ("The Investigative Judgment"). (From 1844 to the Second Advent):
This is the Great Day of Atonement. When Christ is judging the righteous and the heavenly beings are given the opportunity to see that God's judgments are righteous and just.
They decide who will be rewarded with eternal life from among the living and the dead and taken to heaven at the Second Coming.
This phase also takes away the dominion of the beast. The Papacy fell in 1798 and the books were opened in 1844.
- Yom Kippur. This ceremony teaches that there is a formal time set aside to clear the righteous and wipe away their sins and cleanse the temple.
It is clear that in selecting Jesus to be killed that the Lord's Goat was chosen by the priests at the crucifixion.
It is equally clear that when Satan is bound and cast into the wilderness (desolated earth) at the Second Coming that he is the scapegoat who is being bound and exiled on Yom Kippur.
On that day the sins of Israel, which had been accumulating in the temple since the last Yom Kippur, are formally removed permanently by the high priest.
According to the prophecy of Daniel 8: 14, we believe that this investigative judgment is the formal process which cleanses the sanctuary. The righteous people of earth are formally set right with the people of heaven.
- Sequence. The proof of this phase of judgment is also in the sequence of events presented here.
- Logic. Since Christ brings His reward with Him at the Second Coming then He must have gone through a decision-making process to determine the sheep and the goats and who will be saved and who will be lost.
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
(Revelation 22: 12) (See also Matthew 16: 27)
» Witnesses For The Prosecution. Now that preliminary administrative proceedings are over, a recess in proceedings is called to bring in new witnesses.
The Second Coming brings another group of witnesses and their testimony to the judgment.
In earthly trials there is wisdom in excluding witnesses who have not yet testified, from the on-going trial proceedings so that they do not change their testimony to fit new information revealed during the trial.
Except for Jesus, Enoch, Moses and probably as much as 24 "elders", the people of earth have been excluded from the proceedings now occurring in heaven.
- Judgment Given To The Saints ("The Jury of Their Peers"). (During the 1000 Years Millennium):
This judgment decides why the wicked were lost.
The resurrected righteous dead and the translated righteous living spend this time in Heaven.
During this period, the righteous are allowed to judge so that they can see that God is just. They serve as both jury and witnesses who will base their decisions on experience.
Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
(1 Corinthians 6: 2-3)
Earthly juries are required to know nothing about the alleged facts of the case and are swayed by the most persuasive arguments brought by each side. This jury gets it wrong sometimes. We need a jury that will get it right every time.
Like, their Lord this jury does not judge only by what it sees and hears but by what it knows.
God HAD to become a human. Only humans on this broken earth could judge other broken humans. It is a jury of peers and a righteous judge-prosecutor who was also one of us.
And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
(Isaiah 11: 2-3)
None of our sins are brought out because they have been removed.
... for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
(Romans 14: 10-11).
Technically, the righteous have already stood before God when Christ represented them in the investigative phase.
So Heaven pronounced that we are pardoned through Christ.
- The White Throne Judgment ("The Trial"). (At the End of the 1000 Years):
So far, the judgment has rejected the wicked as a group. But they have not been able to defend themselves individually before God.
This is their chance. They will be judged out of the books of their life.
And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Look, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
(Jude 1: 14-15)
» Witnesses For The Defense.
The Third Coming brings the final group of witnesses and their testimony to the judgment.
The wicked defend themselves in this judgment.
Satan and the resurrected wicked are judged and they also see that God's judgments have been righteous.
The earth is recreated after this phase and the saints possess the kingdom created on a new earth.
During each phase, each group gets to review the judgments and justice of God and they all conclude that God is righteous.
So, at the end of this third phase, all of the universe has seen that God has been righteous.
And every knee will bow in acknowledgment of that.
Therefore God also has highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
(Philippians 2: 9-11)
Sadly, the result will be that they will admit that they were wrong and God was right.
The Battle Of Armageddon
On the edge of the Promised Land a final rebellion occurs.
While they agree with the decisions of God, the wicked cannot resist one last chance to have their own way. Do or die!
They try to take the Promised Land by force. But this was not the first time.
Ancient Israel And The Amalekites.
Ancient Israel also rebelled on the borders of the Promised Land and tried to take it by themselves.
According to Numbers 14: 39-45, after Moses spoke to them about their sin and the judgment of God, the people wept. They admitted that they had sinned but they decided to take the land. In vain Moses said, "Why are you transgressing the commandment of the Lord when it will not succeed?"
Both groups had this in common.

When Moses spoke these words to all the sons of Israel, the people mourned greatly,
In the morning however, they rose up early and went up to the ridge of the hill country, saying,
"Here we are, we have indeed sinned, but we will go to the place which the Lord has promised."
But Moses said, "Why are you transgressing the commandment of the Lord, when it will not succeed?
Do not go up, or you will be struck down before your enemies, for the Lord is not among you."
For the Amalekites and the Canaanites will be there in front of you, and you will fall by the sword ...

- They were on the borders of the Promised Land.
- They were denied access because of sin.
- They agreed that God's judgment was correct.
- They tried to take the land by force on their own.
- They knew that God was not with them.
- They were slaughtered from above.
- The wicked are killed by fire coming down from heaven.
- Ancient Israel was killed by the Amalekites and the Caananites who came down from the hill country.
The Champions Of Ancient Israel.
The battle is patterned after many battles where God fights for His people by bringing confusion in the enemy's camp and allowing the enemy to turn on each other in panic and destroy themselves.
- Moses Defeats Pharaoh. In the Battle of Armageddon God miraculously prepares a dry land as a safe passage for His people to escape the advancing forces of the enemy.
Those who lose the battle will be returned to the Abyss.
Those who win will cross over on dry land to the Promised land.
The Creation of Dry Land.
He established the earth upon its foundations, so that it will not totter for ever and ever.
You covered it with the deep as with a garment. The waters were standing above the mountains.
At your rebuke they fled, at the sound of your thunder they hurried away.
(Psalm 104: 5-7)
- Deborah [Word, Bee]. On the plains of Megiddo God fights for us from heaven and a woman is victorious in battle.
The church is the woman who will defeat Satan at the end of time with the Word of God.
- Gideon [A Destroyer, He That Bruises or Breaks]. In the Battle of Armageddon God defeats Satan in the resurrection.
- Josiah [The Lord Burns, The Fire of The Lord]. In the Battle of Armageddon the beloved King dies in a battle between the king of the south and the king of the north.
The king of the north wins but will eventually fall.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the burnt offering who was killed in the battle and Rome flourished until the end of time when it will fall like Babylon.
- Joshua [Savior]. In the Battle of Armageddon God defeats all the enemies at the Second Coming.
- Valley of Jehoshaphat [The Lord Is Judge]. In the Battle of Armageddon after the final judgment, God will destroy the wicked.
In The Valley of Decision.
Proclaim this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
Assemble yourselves, and come, all you heathen, and gather yourselves together round about there. Cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.
Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the vats overflow; for their wickedness is great.
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
(Joel 3: 9-14)
Armageddon: Gog and Magog
There are only two nations remaining on the earth at this time.
Israel, and the wicked who are known as the nation of Gog and Magog.
These are the humans and the angels who will be destroyed. Their leader is Satan.
This draws our reference back to Ezekiel 38, which gives a literal account of Gog and Magog attacking God's literal Israel, and of God's wrath and intervention on their behalf. This is prophetic of the end time final attack upon God's people at this end time.
This war and the millennium are two of the most popular symbols from Revelation although they are not mentioned as often as other symbols in the Bible.
Most people believe that it is a battle in the middle east between the United States and Israel against Russia, China and the Muslims.
The recent change of the political landscape has not really changed this interpretation.
But Revelation 20 shows something completely different. God fights this war after the resurrection and the rapture and the judgment.
That is the time sequence.
However, Revelation 16 suggests that only the preparation for the war begins before the Second Coming.
Satan recognizes that this is the end. The saints are suffering under the final horrible persecution and
God has responded with wrath. He has unleashed the seven last plagues.

- Preparation. During the sixth plague Satan tries to recruit the wicked. The army of Armageddon.
for they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them together for the war of the great day of God, the Almighty.
And they gathered them together to the place which in Hebrew is called Har- Magedon.
(Revelation 16: 14, 16)
Revelation 19 also suggests that at this point Satan knows that it is God that he will have to fight
so he and his angels try to recruit an army of the wicked.
He tries to defeat God at the Second Coming.
Earth Vs God. And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.
(Revelation 19: 19)
This is not a description of an internation war between superpowers, it is a description of an intergalactic war.
- Rescued By The Second Coming. God comes prepared for war with an army dressed in righteousness. Right makes might.
He rescues His persecuted people during the seventh plague.
They escape the cosmic war that Satan has been preparing and God gives them a new heart and a new body.
Perfection.
Thus saith the Lord God; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.
(Ezekiel 36: 33)
On this day God makes the earth desolate and takes us to heaven to live in the city that He has built - the New Jerusalem.
So, the earth remains desolate and waste until it will be rebuilt after the millennium.
- Revenge On The Wicked.
All their arrogance and plotting have amounted to a wasted and worthless life.
Wealth Gone.
And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The Lord will not do good, neither will he do evil.
Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.
The Day Of The Lord (Weeping And Wailing).
The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
Revenge.
That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
Shock And Awe.
A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.
Bewildered.
And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.
Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
(Zephaniah 1: 12-18)
- Millennium Incarceration. Technically, war preparations are interrupted.
All the wicked are killed and Satan is restricted to the earth. The war criminal is imprisoned, but he is alive.
While he has one thousand years of incarceration to contemplate his bad behavior, he can also plan a resistance.
He can also create or salvage weapons left over. He knows his future. He will have one more opportunity.
- The Great Supper.
The perspective of Revelation 19: 17-18 and the old testament is that at this point God invites the
birds to eat the flesh of unburied kings and people. Why?
They lay dead on the surface of the earth because there is no one to bury them.
- The Stones Of Fire.
Isaiah 14: 19-20 indicates that Satan will be walking among the dead and decaying bodies of the wicked. The bodies prepared for fire.
He used to walk among the precious stones of fire at the throne of God. How the mighty has fallen!
- The New Jerusalem. A beautiful city, 375 miles (603 km) high descends on the earth.
The wicked are resurrected. Satan starts lobbying.
- Judgment. After the second resurrection, Satan and the wicked are judged and they are pronounced guilty. And they agree with this judgment.
- Final War (Attack On God). This is when the plans, prepared for over one thousand years are put into action. The battle of Armageddon begins.
Satan persuades them that they can be cowards and accept death or be heroic and fight back and have a chance.
There is nothing to lose and everything to gain. It is a powerful argument.
Hitler, Gengis Khan, Atilla and many other infamous leaders and men of war and powerful angels
lead a sickly, diseased and motley crew of humans who surround the city with their weapons. Sticks and stones.
Destined to fail. Stupid plans. Stupid Satan. Rebellious people. Destined to fail.
- Destruction.
The wicked are outside the camp surrounding the city while the righteous are watching from within the city, but the gates are open.
For some strange reason God does not close them.
I think a better plan would have been to rely on the mercy of God.
There are many stories in the past where people have been able to persuade God to change His mind, because
they thought that they could convince Him to have mercy.
A better plan would have been to walk to the open gates, unarmed and submit to God.
But they do not want heaven with all those boring rules.
So God Himself kindles a fire with his breath.
For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the Lord, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.
(Isaiah 30: 33)
God sends both fire from heaven and also kindles it within Satan's body and destroys them instantly.
... Therefore I have brought fire from the midst of you; It has consumed you And I have turned you to ashes on the earth, in the eyes of all who see you. All who know you among the peoples are appalled at you; you have become terrified and you will cease to be forever.
(Ezekiel 28: 18-19)
In this way their punishment is seen both as a judgment from God and caused by Satan.
During the great flood, the waters came from the "windows of heaven" above and from the "fountains of the deep" below (Genesis 7:11 and 8:2).
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
(Genesis 7: 11)
In the same way, the fire will come from God above in the city and from within Satan.
As the earth is burning, the New Jerusalem sits in the middle, untouched.
So it will apppear that the whole congregation in the city is stoning the earth.
Stoned Outside The City.
Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.
(Leviticus 24:14)
» The Eighth Plague.
Zechariah 14: 12-15 suggests that the wicked will rot while they are still standing.
They are probably burned up afterwards. Only Satan and the beast will be thrown alive in the lake of fire.
But they will also be burned up.
» Land Ploughed. The desolate earth will be exposed for all to see for 1000 years until it is ploughed up.
And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.
Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the Lord build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the Lord have spoken it, and I will do it.
(Ezekiel 36: 34, 36)
» All Passers By.
During the millennium all the righteous in the entire universe will observe the destruction.
Even Satan and his angels will see the catastrophe as they are forced to walk through the earth.
At the Second resurrection the wicked will also get a chance to see this great catastrophe.
They will not see the rebuilt earth, but they will see the New Jerusalem.
- The New Earth. God restores the new earth like the Garden of Eden from the ashes of the desolated old earth.
Eden Restored.
And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.
(Ezekiel 36: 35)
» A Fenced City.
The New Jerusalem has four walls with three gates on each wall that are never closed.
» A Righteous People. Jerusalem will be filled with the righteous.
Thus saith the Lord God; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.
As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the Lord.
(Ezekiel 36: 37-38)
The Battle Tactics For The Throne Of God.
The battle began in heaven with mutiny when Satan rebelled and took one third of the angels with him. Then he was thrown to the ground (earth) where the warfare will conclude.
An analysis of the warfare shows that God always took the defensive position. He never attacked.
- Ground Warfare. When the battle moved to the earth each side chose a specific tactic.
- Defensive Warfare (Fortification). God's initial tactic was to hold the ground in the land of Canaan.
Our method of self preservation is to build fortifications. We have superior over head protection and a munition of rocks.
The Jews were told not to get involved with the people around because they would be corrupted.
Instead they were to remain in isolation in a high fortress and shine a light to those in darkness.
» Maintenance of Reserves. A small force is kept in reserve to react to unexpected developments or new opportunities.
God always has a faithful remnant.
- War Of Attrition (Capture). Satan's overall strategy is to capture, destroy and hold ground.
- Deception. The war came to earth when Satan deceived Eve and captured the human race, held them hostage for ransom as prisoners of war and enslaved them. He now had possession of the earth.
- Interdiction. The enemy disrupts and severs lines of communication and supply. He has successfully intercepted the ministry of the High Priest by convincing us to ignore God or to go through human mediators.
- Penetration. Satan routinely infiltrates the church disguised as priests or pastors and even as Christ.
He lures us in by raising false flags after deploying decoys and booby traps and laying a minefield.
Disguised as priest, teacher and pastor with a bible and the corrupted law of God, he even wears enemy uniforms and uses enemy equipment to infiltrate and surprise.
When Paganism realized that Christianity was winning, Satan used perfidy.
He lured the enemy in the open by pretending to surrender as unarmed non-combatants.
He made the Christian leaders incorporate Paganism into the religion, supposedly to lure the Pagans, but in reality it corrupted the Christians.
In the process, we destroyed our Jewish assets.
- Artillery Barrage. He uses a war of words to stifle our message and aquires the secular media assets to help him in this endeavour.
- Disinformation. He poisoned the name and reputation of God, even in the churches. He labelled obedience as old fashioned legalism and made heaven seem joyless and unattractive.
He labelled submission to God as slavery and promiscuity as freedom. So our attention was directed away from God and towards the traditions and lusts of men.
- Guerrilla Warfare.
While we appeared to be destitute and defenceless in the open wilderness or trapped in our fortresses, Satan could raid and attack us repeatedly from his strong fortress and high ground.
He had control of the people, governments and armies of the world.
Knowing that he had to face Christ, Satan worked for 500 years to subdue the Jews through a series of foreign occupations.
Then, at the crucifixion, he rallied all his forces to attack the defenceless Christ, who had been abandoned by His troops and was incapacitated because He was carrying a heavy burden of sins. He ambushed Him as He came out of the garden of Gethsemane and terrorized Him and made Him submit like a woman.
» Hand to Hand Combat.
Then in a hand to hand combat between the generals of both forces, Satan first weighed Jesus down with His burden then he had Jesus' hands and feet nailed before he murdered Him. He is a bully and a coward and extremely stupid.
We will mock him throughout eternity because even with such an unfair advantage he was soundly beaten by one who was forced be as helpless as a little girl.
- Pincer Movement (The Mystery of God).
After generations of practicing defensive warfare, God unveiled another plan.
The pincer formation is the mystery of God and His secret plans to launch the final offensive with rapid dominance.
The pincer movement involves encircling the enemy with simultaneous flank movements then applying a concentration of force at a specific point when the forces are in position. The battle usually ends in a battle of annhilation.

It began at the crucifixion when Christ feigned defeat and submitted to Satan.
Then the church was split into two groups who were sent into the harsh wilderness.
- Feint (Crucifixion Submission). The center feigns a retreat as the attacking force moves forward.
God begins the offensive strategy with His preferred defensive tactic. He built a fortification on Calvary and allowed His General to be deserted and beseiged.
While the enemy concentrated on capturing the leader, they did not notice what was happenning to the flanks.
» "Empty City Ploy".
In the "Art of War", Sun Tzu recommends that when we are in a desperate situation, we confuse the enemy by appearing weak and defenseless.
This occurred when the disciples abandoned Him.
As the scattered foundation stones in the wall of the city of God, they had made the city empty and defenceless (Revelation 21:14).
The parable of the tiny mustard seed shows God's strategy (Mark 4: 26-32).
We appear to be weak and dead for 2000 years, like a seed dying underneath the ground. Then suddenly the kingdom develops and grows, but the workers do not know how. It is a mystery.
When the two seed leaves emerge, God will finish the work Himself.
And He was saying, "The kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the soil
and he goes to bed at night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts and grows - how, he himself does not know.
The soil produces crops by itself, first the blade, then the head, then the mature grain in the head.
But when the crop permits, he immediately puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come"
(Mark 4: 26-29)
- Divide And Conquer (Jews And Gentiles). The forces are divided into two on either flank (side).
- Seige Formation. The flanks move forward and then hook inward at the rear to encircle the enemy.
» Surprise (Unity). The success of a flanking movement depends on catching the enemy by surprise especially by using areas that have been neglected by the enemy.
The world believed that the Jews and Christians could not unite and they believed that Passover and the feasts were unimportant.
» Camouflage. While the flanking movement was in operation, God had to disguise the assets so that they seemed unimportant.
Every measure was taken to make sure that the Jewish assets seemed unimportant and the two forces are irreconcilable.
- Light. Reflective surfaces were dulled. The Jews were no longer a light.
- Textures. Textures were disguised. The importance of the feasts were forgotten.
- Distinctive Patterns. Outlines were broken up. The law was disregarded.
» The Lion of Judah Strikes.
God reunites the Jews and Gentiles, then they close in and pinch the forces of Satan in the strong vice of the mouth of the Lion.
- Terrain.
The terrain is the same as the exodus. Blocked by an approaching army, God built fortifications on either side to allow His people to pass through.
We were protected on each side by a great wall of water surging from the former and latter rain.
» Engineering the Battlefield.
In the beginning, the former rain was the wall of water that kept them away.
At the end, the forces of evil will be blocked by a huge mountain called the Rock and a great wall of water called the Latter Rain.
These assets create an impassable terrain that is used to assist the smaller forces to complete the encirclement and work swiftly in the final efforts of evangelism.
» Shock and Awe (The Latter Rain).
In one year God unleashes the gifts of the Holy Spirit showing overwhelming power and spectacular displays of force.
God will reestablish dominance by showing superiority in science and religion and dominating the battlefield of the mind.
There is a paradigm shift that paralyzes our adversary's perception of reality and morality and suspends their will to fight.
The forces of good will have to attack on these major fronts to complete the first angel's message.
- Evolution or Myths and Fables. God will confront the false assumptions and arrogance of faulty scientific reasoning.
The Bible is a book of science, not myths and fables or science fiction.
» Miracles. The reenactment of the great miracles of the Bible and even greater miracles will show that these events were possible.
» The Bible as a Book of Science. Our proof, given by God in December 2008 positively shows that the Bible has a model of the Periodic Table of Chemistry, particle physics and the human genes.
These are discoveries made after 1850 and physics is still in its infancy.
How could Moses introduce a model that is better than the Standard Model of particle physics 3500 years ago?
A new respect must be given to to Torah, even if it is grudgingly.
The Bible will no longer be summarily dismissed as foolish myths.
- Secularism or Outdated Morality. Once science has released its stranglehold, people will be compelled to reconsider the claims of absolute morality and the consequences.
- My Personal Beliefs Not YHWH. The display of power will glorify Jesus and the God of the Jews.
» Ambush.
In our fight against Babylon we must maintain our standards, lift them up, keep watch for enemy infiltration and set ambushes for the enemy.
Lift up a signal against the walls of Babylon; Post a strong guard, Station sentries, Place men in ambush! For the Lord has both purposed and performed What He spoke concerning the inhabitants of Babylon.
(Jeremiah 51: 12)
An ambush is a tactic, in which the ambushing force uses concealment to launch a surprise attack on the unsuspecting enemy at a point where they are most vulnerable.
God set an ambush in the last days by carefully placing Bible science in the Torah, waiting for the time when scientists would mock the Bible as unscientific myth before revealing superior models of their own scientific discovery.
It proves the source of the Bible is far superior to man so that the Torah must be seen as the words of a superior being, not myth.
» Blitzkrieg (Final Evangelism). Rapid, mobile, armoured attacks supported by air defence.
This characterizes the final movements as the forces of God sweep across the globe dressed in the armor of God to proclaim the Good News of salvation and rescue our prisoners of war and convince the enemy troops to defect.
» Propaganda Warfare.
Satan will counterattack with black and grey propaganda, lies and half truths.
At this point in history when the pincer is about to close, Satan now realizes that he has been caught in the vices of a pincer.
He cannot reorganize his troops for an attack to break out.
Satan would have been better off leaving the world with an appreciation of God. Then he could use religious bullying and superstition to rally the world.
However, he could not resist flooding the world with atheism and secularism. His strong defence suddenly becomes a huge weakness as useless as the Maginot Line.
They are drunk and too unruly and disorganized as a result of his misguided tactics to infiltrate and corrupt.
So the best that he can do is to tarnish the reputation of the forces closing in on him.
He will make the world hate the Jews and the Christians.
- Force Concentration (Sword).
The Second Coming is an airborne operation which exploits night and prevailing weather.
When the world is at its darkest moment, Jesus comes in the clouds weilding a sword and accompanied by a great army hurling fiery hail stones.
Scorched Earth. This is the tactic used in the millennium when the earth is only occupied by Satan and his angels. The army is dead, all support, supplies and comfort are wiped out, leaving them demoralized.
Engineering The Battlefield. At the third Coming God again returns to a fortification defense as His preferred battle strategy.
First He creates the final battlefield by placing us in a walled, fortified city and building mountains in the north and south, then placing seas in the east and west.
Then He releases the wicked from prison for the final judgment.
Siege. After the judgment, Satan's forces beseige the city that seems vulnerable with its gates open.
Turkey Shoot. Unfortunately, thinking that there is a good chance of success they do not employ economy of forces tactics.
Their tired, ill equipped and undernourished army is in a vulnerable position, as their forces are concentrated in a doomed siege around the New Jerusalem.
They are cut off by the mountains in the north and the south and by the eastern and western sea. They are both evil and stupid. It is like shooting fish in a barrel.
- Rapid Dominance.
God annhilates them with fire from above, ending the war of annhilation.
Satan And The Wicked Sinners Destroyed
After the judgment at the end of the 1000 years, Satan, death and the wicked are thrown into the lake of fire.
where they suffer the second and final death.

This curse is finally fulfilled. Satan gave Christ a non-fatal wound, but Satan receives a fatal head wound at this time.
The Devil, the Beast and the False Prophet (Leaders).
And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city,
and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
(Revelation 20: 9-10)
Death.
"And death and hell were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whoever was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire."
(Revelation 20: 14-15)
The People.
Now this is the plague with which the Lord will strike all the peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem,
their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, and their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongue will rot in their mouth.
(Zechariah 14: 12)
This is either the description of the wicked at the Second Coming or after their destruction at the Battle of Armageddon.
It seems as if the people will be instantly destroyed and then their carcasses are thrown into the fire.
But the Devil is thrown alive into the fire.

Satan broke many laws that made him eligible for the death penalty.
In many of these, the condemned is taken outside the camp and stoned to death by his accusers.
- Dishonor Parents. Satan dishonored God by forming a band of mutineers to take the throne of God by force. His crimes culminated in the murder of his Creator during the crucifixion.
He instigated this brutality against God with the aid of many human agencies through possession, temptation or bribery.
- Striking Parents. The priests slapped Jesus and the brutal Romans whipped Him.
And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.
(Exodus 21: 15)
- Cursing Parents. The people cursed Jesus and spit on Him under the influence of Satan.
And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
(Exodus 21: 17)
- Uncovering The Nakedness Of Parents. The Romans crucified Jesus naked, exposing Him publicly.
The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
... For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.
(Leviticus 18: 7, 29)
- Rebellious Child. Jesus is the obedient Son. Satan is the rebellious son who will be brought before the people of the world at the gates of the New Jerusalem to be sentenced to death by stoning with fire and brimstone.
If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:
Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;
Drunk And Glutton. And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.
Stoned To Death. And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.
(Deuteronomy 21: 18-21)
Satan is a drunkard who made the nations drunk with the wine of Babylon (Revelation 14: 8).
He is a glutton who caused sin by luring Eve with fruit (Genesis 3: 1-7) and Jesus with bread (Luke 4: 3).
- Stealing And Slavery. He tricked Adam and Eve into slavery to sin, kidnapped them and stole their birthright.
Kidnapping Free Men For Slaves.
And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
(Exodus 21: 16)
- Fornication And Bestiality.
Satan used a series of political and religious powers to carry out his will.
In Daniel 7-8 God refers to these forces as beasts and to the Antichrist force as a man and a false prophet.
In contrast, Israel is a woman whom God marries and uses her to do His will.
- Bestiality.
Satan went into the snake and possessed it. The snake submitted and helped him to tempt Eve.
Then he was intimately involved with the lion, bear, leopard and dragon (Babylon, Persia, Greece and Rome) (Daniel 7 and 8, Revelation 13 and 17).
Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.
(Exodus 22: 19)
And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast.
(Leviticus 20: 15)
The beast and the false prophet will be killed.
And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone.
(Revelation 19: 20)
- Homosexuality. Satan used the "man of sin" to persecute (2 Thessalonians 2: 3-4).
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
(Leviticus 20: 13)
- Rape, Prostitution And Seduction. Anyone who seduces us into idolatry should be stoned.
So you shall stone him to death because he has sought to seduce you from the Lord your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
(Deuteronomy 13: 10)
Satan probably uses possession (spiritual rape) as his primary method of coercion at the end of time.
- Witchcraft. Satan is the deceitful spirit behind all the witches and mediums who communicate with the dead.
A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.
(Leviticus 20: 27)
- Blasphemy. The Antichrist and the prostitute were filled with the names of blasphemy.
And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the Lord, shall be put to death.
(Leviticus 24: 16)
- Murder. He brought death to the planet and instigated the murder of his God by possessing people during the time of the crucifixion.
Murderer And Liar.
You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
(John 8: 44)
Humans will have an active role in his punishment when all the congregation stones him.
Whoso sheds man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
(Genesis 9: 6)
And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death.
(Leviticus 24: 17)
- Intentional Sin. The New Jerusalem is the city of refuge for all those who commit unintentional murder. Satan will be banned from this city.
He intentionally murdered Adam and Eve and their children.
The Cities Of Refuge
These six cities shall be a refuge, both for the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them: that every one that killeth any person unawares may flee thither.
Murder With An Iron Instrument. And if he smite him with an instrument of iron, so that he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
Murder With A Stone. And if he smite him with throwing a stone, wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
(Numbers 35: 15-17)
He murdered Jesus Christ with the iron kingdom (Rome) and they rolled a stone and sealed His grave.
- Child Sacrifice. Jesus was the child who was sacrificed.
Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.
(Leviticus 20: 2)
- Liar. A false witness should get the same punishment that his wicked testimony would have caused on the innocent.
Everything that was done to Jesus will be done to Satan. All people will turn against him and abandon him. They will mock, torture and terrorize him until he is dead.
If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong;
Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the Lord, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;
And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother;
Same Punishment. Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.
(Deuteronomy 19: 16-19)
- Sabbath Breaking. He influenced the powers to "change times and laws" (Daniel 7: 25) and at the end Sabbath breaking will be the principal test for those who do not want to receive "the mark of the beast".
Ye shall keep the Sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
(Exodus 31: 14)
The Murderer Is Punished
And you shall not pollute the land in which you are; for blood pollutes the land and no expiation can be made for the land for the blood that is shed
on it, except by the blood of him who shed it.
(Numbers 35: 33)
Before this time all blood has been poured out into the land.
- The Blood Of Food (Ground).
Only be sure not to eat the blood, for the blood is the life, and you shall not eat the life with the flesh.
You shall not eat it, you shall pour it out on the ground like water.
(Deuteronomy 12: 23-24)
- The Blood Of The Dead (Ground).
... for you are dust and to dust you shall return.
(Genesis 3: 19)
Vengeance is taken at one time. Then the land vomits up all the people who are guilty. This is Satan and the wicked.
- The Blood Of Sacrifices (Base Of The Altar).
The priest is to take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering.
And all the rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar.
(Leviticus 4: 34)
» Justice Delayed But Not Denied.
- The Blood Of Martyrs Cries out For Justice.
When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and because of the testimony which they had maintained.
And they cried out with a loud voice saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, will you refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?"
(Revelation 6: 9-10)
Notice that their blood is symbolically at the altar, a sacred ground, just like the blood of the sacrifices.
- The Blood Of The Innocent Cries Out For Justice.
God said, "What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood is crying to Me from the ground.
(Genesis 4: 10)
» Our Blood Avenger.
The Bible has a concept of a blood avenger that is always a relative of the murder victim.
So in a sense the land or the dirt is our relative because we were made from it.
The blood of all offerings and all food was poured into the ground from which we came.
As our blood relative, the land will cry our because of all the blood of death of all its children that it had to receive and absorb for burial.
So the land needs rest from burying its dead.
This is the time when the architect of death will face his own guilt.
Then, even the land will turn against him.
So Satan has no other place to go. He was thrown out of Heaven at the crucifixion.
He will be vomited out of the earth. He has no physical place left that will take him. Therefore, he will be burned up.
» Our Revenge
The righteous will execute judgment on the wicked in the same pattern that God will take revenge.
When we are raptured into the heavens at the Second Coming, God will then stone the earth with huge hailstones.
It will then seem as if the congregation is stoning the wicked. That is the law.
However, Psalm also says that we will have a more active role in the vengeance thrown on the wicked.
Two-Edged Sword. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword be in their hand,
Revenge. to execute vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,
Chained. to bind their kings with chains and their nobles with fetters of iron,
A Legal Punishment. to execute on them the judgment written. This is an honor for all the godly ones. Praise the Lord!
(Psalm 149: 6-9)
At this point it can be said that we will "rule over our enemies" (Isaiah 14: 2).
It is difficult to say when this will occur.
- Second Coming. It mimics the actions of Jesus as He executes this pattern of revenge for us.
- Sixth Plague. During the sixth plague, just before the Second Coming we will fight back and overpower the leaders and God will come in time to save us.
- Final Judgment. We could possibly bind the leaders for punishment after the final judgment after Armageddon.
Falling In Their Own Trap
Why would the wicked agree with God's judgment and punishment?
In their judgment and punishment the wicked actually write their own punishment and fall into their own trap.
God judges them by their own standards and they fail. He punishes them according to their own requirements.
So their own words condemn them and God punishes them by their own methods which they devised against us.
God does not sit on His throne devising ways to hurt and punish even wicked people.
Such schemes and foul thoughts are from the mind of the enemy.
In God there is no fear of judgment or punishment because of love.
By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment [fear has torment], and the one who fears is not perfected in love.
We love, because He first loved us.
(1 John 4: 17-19 NASB)
All the wicked and the rebellious and those who want life on their own terms have at least one thing in common - they hate or resent the laws of God if not the concept of God.
A perfect love and admiration of God requires love of His character, which the law describes.
- Cursed.
Satan dictated the terms of the curse. God enforces them in the judgment and then removes them.
- Birds Of A Feather. The punishment was made for the devil and his gang, yet we chose to share their fate.
Punished Together.
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
(Matthew 25: 41)
- Trapped. Their own traps ensnare them. This is how God executes judgment. Whatever the wicked thought was just and fair for the righteous will be how God will treat them.
I'm Falling And I Can't Get Out!
The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.
The Lord is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands.
(Psalm 9: 15-16)
Oops!
Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.
Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.
(Psalm 141: 9-10)
Failed Plots
The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.
The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
(Psalm 37: 12-15)
- Failing The Lowest Standards.
When we choose to live by what is right in our own eyes, God reveals our hypocrisy by judging us according to our own standards.
In fact, the wicked will fail to meet even their own low standards of decency in their own wretched code of conduct.
So having failed their own ethical codes, they have already found themselves guilty even before they are found guilty of breaking God's high standards.
Judgment And Punishment Of The Hypocrites.
Judge not, that ye be not judged.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
(Matthew 7: 1-2)
Actor Robin Williams said, "I violated my own standards faster than I could lower them".
- Judge Me. Their own words condemn them.
In this parable, the wicked servant tries to blame his master for his actions and his punishment is crafted from his own hypocritical mouth
Your Fault.
For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.
And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
(Luke 19: 21-22)
In defense of God, this parable is not teaching that God is an austere man who takes whatever he wants from others.
It shows that since this man believed this of his master then his lazy actions were foolish and illogical.
For if his boss was willing to reap the rewards of other's works then he would surely want to reap the rewards from his own property.
- Stoned.
Yes, God throws rocks on them but they asked for it. They will beg for it.
Hide Me Under The Rocks.
And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
(Revelation 6: 15-17)
The Earth Is Cleansed And Renewed
The wicked will be completely burned up outside the city of the New Jerusalem. They will not be tortured forever.
Reduced to Ashes. For, see, the day comes, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yes, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that comes shall burn them up, says the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
...
And you shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, says the LORD of hosts.
(Malachi 4: 1-3)
This also fulfills the prophecy of the continual burnt offering.
The fire was continual. It was not to be extinguished. But the animal was burned up and the ashes placed outside the city.
Christ became the continual burned offering so that we could avoid this punishment of being burned with the continual fire.

The Old Heaven And Earth Melts.
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved for fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men."
"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with intense heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting to the coming of the day of God, in which the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat.
(2 Peter 3: 7, 10-12)
For, look, the Lord comes forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth. And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place.
(Micah 1: 3-4)
A New Heaven And Earth Created.
Along with the sinners, the fire that comes down from God will cleanse the earth, and Christ will make a new earth.
The city will survive the ocean of flames and the righteous will not be burned up.
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
(Revelation 21: 1)
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
(Matthew 5: 5)
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, in which lives righteousness.
(2 Peter 3: 13)
A New Kind Of Time
| The Promise Of Seed Time |
As scientists create "suicide seeds" such as the terminator and traitor seeds and big farm conglomerates squeeze out family farms all over the world,
they are directly causing a promise of God to fail.
Just as He promises day and night to continue until the end of the earth,
He promises that seed time and harvest will remain. (Genesis 8: 22)
Businessmen are trying to patent seeds and stop the natural harvesting of seeds for planting.
Terminator and traitor seeds are sterile seeds that will grow for only one season.
The crop that they produce does not create seeds that will grow again.
The farmer is forced to buy seeds every season.
One more reason for God to return.

After sin and death has been destroyed, there will be a new heaven and earth.
But Revelation 20: 10 seems to suggest that the devil will be tortured forever. Where will they be?
Let us take a look at this by looking at the Greek language and at the creation of the old earth.
- The Greek language has three different case endings for time.
- Locative. Describes a point in time or an instant of time.
- Accusative. Describes the limit of time.
- Genative. Describes the kind of time. This is the case ending used in Revelation 20: 10.
- Creation. The covenant states that while the earth remains seed time and harvest and cold and heat and summer and winter and day and night shall not cease. (Genesis 8: 22)
So we find in Revelation 21: 1, 22-25 that the new heavens and earth have no sun or moon or day or night. It is a different kind of time. A new time frame.
So, as long as the old earth or day and night kind of time exists, the devil will be tormented forever.
But when the new heavens and earth are created, the old one will go away, and with it will go the day and night kind of time, the devil and the wicked.
They will no longer exist because the old earth will no longer exist.
The devil can only exist in the time frame that has darkness.
According to Isaiah 60: 11- 20, the day will last forever in the new earth because the sun will never set because the Lord will be a constant light.
The old testament made reference to this kind of time.
According to Jeremiah, when the covenant with the day and night is broken (that day will always follow night Genesis 8: 22)
then God can break His covenant with David and the priests of Levi.
If you can break my covenant with the night, so that day and night not come at their appointed time, then also my covenant with David my servant may be broken, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne, and my covenant with the Levitical priests my ministers.
(Jeremiah 33: 20-21)
The covenant with the priests of Levi can formally be broken at this time.
This is because God intends to make kings and priests of all the families of the earth not just
Levi and Judah. (Revelation 20: 6).
Under The Old Sun
The wisdom of Solomon in Ecclesiastes now makes sense under this current Sun.
When God recreates the heavens and the earth there will be a new earth and a new sun.
However, under this old Sun certain things will be done.
- Judgment.
Under this Sun, all the wicked will be at the final judgment. The righteous will also be there and they will be accused of sin by the wicked to make a claim of unfairness against God.
And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
(Ecclesiastes 3: 16)
- Oppression. The wicked are in power while the righteous were in tears, under oppression without a comforter.
So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.
(Ecclesiastes 4: 1)
- Retribution. Under this Sun, sinners will be destroyed by their own sins. James 5: 1-8 concurs.
Riches Corrupt.
There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt.
Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion.
(Ecclesiastes 5: 13, 18)
Rulers Overbearing.
All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: there is a time wherein one man ruleth over another to his own hurt.
(Ecclesiastes 8: 9)
- Nothing New. It is only after this old earth and sun is gone will there be new things.
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
(Ecclesiastes 1: 9)
The Leper Planet
The cleansing of the leper resembles the ceremony on the day of atonement, when two animals were used.
One was killed and the other was set free in the open land.
The leper ceremony shows this atoning work and it also shows how the cleansed leper must still wait
outside his tent before he can join the rest of the people.
The Leper People
In Leviticus 14, the procedure to cleanse a leper included the following:
- The leper lives outside the camp separate from the clean people.
- The priest comes to visit the leper and if the leper is clean then he should perform the following ceremony
- Two living clean birds, cedar wood, scarlet string and hyssop.

- The crucifixion
- The judgment
- The Mark of the beast
- The Righteous waiting after the cleansing
- Satan and the Millennium
- The exile

- One bird is killed in an earthenware vessel over running water.
This symbolizes the altar of sacrifice which is made of earth and the laver.
- The living bird, the wood, scarlet string and hyssop are dipped in the blood of the dead bird.
The wood represents the cross, the scarlet string is the blood of Christ, the dead bird is Christ and the living bird is the Holy Spirit.
- The leper is sprinkled seven times.
- The living bird is set free over the open land.
Set free by the death of Christ, the Holy Spirit came to be our constant companion. This is the anti-type of the scapegoat.
- The leper washed his clothes, shaves his hair and bathes
- He can enter the camp but he must remain outside his tent for seven days.
Even after he has been cleansed, the leper still waits outside his house. He still does not physically join with the rest of the camp.
- Nation Of Priests. The priest waits seven days outside the sanctuary during his inauguration.
- The Lamb. Even though Christ was really killed from the foundation of the world, we must wait 7000 years for the new earth.
It is during the seventh millennium that we enter heaven. On the eighth day when the Holy city comes to earth we are presented at the doorway of the earth for the final judgment of the wicked.
- Jesus Rides A Donkey. Jesus was declared King of the Jews by the people but He was resurrected seven days later and then presented Himself to God in heaven on the eighth day.
- Sanctuary Cleansed. There is still a waiting time before we go to heaven after 1844.
- Sinai. Israel waited six days at the base of Sinai before Moses ascended (Exodus 24: 16).
- Ark Closed. Noah waited seven days before the rain began after the ark was shut (Genesis 7:4).
- Plagues. After the righteous are sealed they have to wait through the seven last plagues.
- Second Coming. After seven days of cataclysm we enter heaven. (See the Seventh Seal.)
- It is on the seventh day, the leper washed his clothes, shaves his hair and bathes.
- On the eighth day, the priest who pronounced him clean shall present the leper,
two male lambs, one ewe, oil and grain offering before the Lord at the doorway of the tent.
- Declared Clean. Jesus was the priest who left heaven to live on the quarantined earth. Only when we are clean does the priest perform this ritual. So we must have been declared clean before He was killed the cross.
We were cleansed in Gethsemane.
The Leper House.
When they entered the Promised Land,
they could find a mark of leprosy on a house.
The house would be quarantined for seven days and the infected stones torn out and thrown in an unclean place outside the city.
The priest returns on the seventh day to make an inspection.
- Quarantine. The earth is quarantined for 7000 years.
- Inspection. A final inspection or judgment is made on the seventh day.
- Clean. The house is cleansed with the same ceremony used to clean the people.
The house of Israel will be cleansed and saved.
- Unclean Mark. The whole house is torn down and thrown in an unclean place outside the city.
The people with the mark of the beast will be destroyed outside the New Jerusalem. The whole earth is destroyed in the lake of fire.

Heaven is the camp of the clean, unfallen people. Earth is the location of the lepers outside this camp.
They are waiting to be cleansed so that they can enter the tent prepared for them in Heaven.
The Exile
The millennium is mentioned in only one place in the bible. It seems clear that the wicked are killed and go to live and reign with Christ for one thousand years. Yet, some believe that Jesus will come back to earth to reign with the Jews and to give a second chance and try to convert people for the next one thousand years while the rest of the church is in heaven.
They are wrong legally because the purpose of the 1000 years is for God to keep His covenants.
- Land Sabbath. The final curses in Leviticus 26 require the exile of the people so that the land could enjoy its Sabbaths.
The period of global exile is the one thousand years of the millennium.
The land will be empty of the human race because the wicked will be dead and the righteous are in heaven.
If the land rests for a thousand years then there were 6000 years of Sabbaths violated.
This is the origin of the theory that this earth will last for 6000 years before the Second Coming.
The unknown question is when will this occur?
- Israel Exiled. According to the covenant, God promised that they would remain on the land until the heavens disappear.
So that your days and the days of your sons may be multiplied on the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give them as long as the heavens remain above the earth.
(Deuteronomy 11: 21)
At the Second Coming the skies will be torn away. This ends the covenant with Israel.
All the host of heaven shall rot away, and the skies roll up like a scroll. All their host shall wither like a leaf withering on a vine, or fruit withering on a fig tree.
(Isaiah 34: 4)
Israel cannot remain on the land.
At the Third Coming, when new heavens and earth are created, Israel can be placed on the land again (Revelation 21: 1-2).
Six Thousand Years
The millennium begins at the end of a specified period of time.
It is the Sabbath millennium of rest after six thousand years of slavery to sin.
There are several laws and prophecies that suggest that the earth will last for six thousand years before the righteous are taken.

- Covenant. If the earth has been unfaithful in keeping the land Sabbaths and the weekly Sabbaths for 6000 years
then God can still keep His covenant with the earth by giving it 1000 years of rest and giving the people 1000 years of rest.
Then the land will enjoy its Sabbaths all the days of the desolation while you are in your enemies' land;
Then the land will rest and enjoy its Sabbaths.
All the days of its desolation it will observe the rest which it did not observe on your Sabbaths, while you were living on it.
(Leviticus 26: 34-35).
- The Fruit Harvest. The fruit harvest during the feast of Tabernacles represents the perfect church that is ready to go and live with God as a holy nation.
The following verse points to the fourth year of the harvest as being the time when it is ready to be given to God.
Therefore that year is the millennium when the fruit harvest is taken to the sanctuary.
Forbidden Fruit. When you enter the land and plant all kinds of trees for food, then you shall count their fruit as forbidden.
Three years it shall be forbidden to you; it shall not be eaten.
Harvest Belongs to the God. But in the fourth year all its fruit shall be holy, an offering of praise to the Lord.
Harvest Belongs to the People. In the fifth year you are to eat of its fruit, that its yield may increase for you, I am the Lord your God.
(Leviticus 19: 23-25)

Christ is described as the first fruits from the dead earth although He was not the first person to be resurrected.
Now we see that for three periods of time, that the fruit from the earth is forbidden as an offering to God.
It is only at a certain point in time that the fruit can be brought to the sanctuary.
Christ died and was resurrected at that time. And He became the first Person who was resurrected when God began to accept the offering.

So the fifth year is the jubilee on earth when the land will be given back to us as an inheritance.
This also fits the symbolism. So the question is when did the first 3000 years begin?
Around 1015 BC, the permanent temple was completed by Solomon and the Jews finally had a place to offer sacrifices.
God began this count when the sanctuary system was in a permanent place and the land was at peace. Although they had entered the land 490 years before, that was the time God considered them planted in Israel.
God destroyed the earthly sanctuary after the death of Christ because we should be looking to the sanctuary in heaven.
- Forbidden Fruit. In the first three years the fruit is still not ready for use. Humans cannot enter heaven for the first three centuries after the tree is planted.
If you consider several important stages in the Plan of Salvation you will see that this rule has been kept in regards to the sanctuary.
- The Building of the Sanctuary. Israel, Jews and Christians, are taken to heaven three thousand years after the sanctuary. The sanctuary in heaven can accept the holy worshippers after 3000 years.
- Living with Christ (The Sanctuary of God). The new world comes back to earth during the Jubilee year, three thousand years after the death of Christ. It is still another millennium in which they are at rest with God.
So Christ returns to live on the earth 3000 years after He first lived here.
So we have 3000 years of the old sanctuary on earth and 3000 years between Christ's living on the earth.
- Holy Fruit. In the fourth year, according to Jewish custom, this holy fruit belongs to God and it must be eaten in Jerusalem.
Christ was killed in Jerusalem, then eaten and swallowed up by the grave.
But the Church will be taken into the New Jerusalem in Heaven alive 4000 years after Israel entered the Promised Land.
- Common Use. In the fifth year, the fruit can be used by the people. We inherit the earth after the millennium.
- Revival and Resurrection. There is a scheduled time for our revival and resurrection after being punished.
Come, let us return to the Lord. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us.
He will revive us after two days. He will raise us up on the third day, that we may live before Him.
(Hosea 6: 1-2)
According to Hosea, revival and resurrection are two separate processes.
The same time table that was applied to the church can be applied to Christ. If we substitute ten years for each day then the same pattern emerges in His life.
If we look at the last three days of His life the pattern emerges again.
- Torn. Christ was torn or killed for us at the crucifixion. The torn curtain before the Most Holy Place was a symbol of His death.
- Revived. The second day of His three day ordeal ended when the Sabbath ended. So Christ must have been brought back to life immediately after the Sabbath was over.
Then He stayed in that tomb to complete the number of hours in the darkness.
Here we have a paradox. He is dead because He has still been swallowed up by the grave. But He is alive, waiting for God to call Him.
Noah also waited in the Ark after the doors were closed.
- Raised. Then Christ was raised from the dead at dawn on the third day when the tomb was opened.
Just as Christ was resurrected on the third day, the church may be resurrected on the third millennium after the first faithful Israelite was torn at the crucifixion.
The revival at the end of the second millennium must be the latter rain.

The Destructions Of The Earth
The sanctuary predicts the order and types of destructions on the earth.
- Outer Court (All Earth Destroyed).
- Altar Of Sacrifice (Death). The whole earth and the future children were destroyed by death when Adam and Eve sinned. Jesus was also the Lamb who was slain "at the foundation of the earth".
- Laver (Waters Of The Flood). The whole earth was destroyed by water at the great flood of Noah.
- Sanctuary (Wicked Destroyed). As we enter the sanctuary the destruction is isolated to the wicked.
- Table Of Shewbread (Broken Body And Blood). All the righteous died the second death in Jesus Christ at the crucifixion and Satan's rule as our advocate was terminated and he was tossed out of heaven.
» Altar Of Incense (Cloud And Prayers). Jesus returns with clouds to heaven to be our High Priest.
- Menorah (Light And Fire).
Jesus Christ returns to earth in a cloud to receive the righteous and the wicked are destroyed by the brightness of His coming.
- River (Lake Of Fire At The Third Coming). This is a river that is not dried up.
- Ark Of The Covenant (Destruction And Recreation).
After facing the judgment, based on the Ten Commandments under the mercy seat, at the throne of God (Ark Of The Covenant), the wicked receive no more mercy.
All the destructions are rolled into one.
They are killed in a lake of fire in the presence of the glorious light of God.
Eight were saved alive at the flood in the ark which survived in the flood. All who will be saved forever will be alive in the city of the New Jerusalem as it survives in the midst of the lake of fire.
Not Left Behind
There is one major Christian interpretation that rivals this view.
The major problem with their view is the idea that there is a second chance.
- Seven Year Tribulation. During this final time of persecution, the Second Coming occurs either before in the middle or at the end of the persecution.
Post-Tribulation Rapture.
We believe that the church will be raptured after the tribulation.
We do not know how long the tribulation will last. However, the plagues will last one year and the law of God requires some action by God some time in the third to fourth period of time, probably three and a half years.
- Two Stage Second Coming. The Second Coming is two separate events,either 3.5 or 7 years apart.
- Invisible Coming. God returns invisibly and raises the righteous dead and secretly takes away the living righteous who disappear.
- Left Behind (Tribulation). The remaining unsaved are left behind to endure the rest of the tribulation with the Antichrist.
At the end of the tribulation, are the unsaved survivors of the Tribulation who refused to worship the Antichrist.
They resist the evil government but they may not have faith in God.
- Visible Coming. At the end of the Tribulation Jesus returns with the saints to set up a millennial kingdom on earth.
One Visible Second Coming.
We believe that there is one visible, spectacular Second Coming event in which all the righteous living and dead are rescued and given their new bodies before they go to heaven.
At this time He also gives them a resurrected body.
3.5 Year Prophecies (42 Months Or 1260 Days). All of these prophecies refer to the same 1260 year period of papal domination from 538-1798.
Seven Year Error (Gap Thoory).
There are no prophetic time periods of seven years. It is taken from the prophecy in Daniel 9 that is part of the 490 years (70 weeks of years) given to the Jews after inserting a 2000 years gap or suspension of prophetic time.
- Millennial Reign.
Generally, all texts that we apply to the perfect new earth are applied to a "millennium reign" on earth.
The difference is that the wicked are still alive and still get a chance to be taught and to repent.
The thousand years is mentioned only once in scripture. All it describes is two resurrections on either side of the time and Satan being cast into the abyss for the time.
It also teaches that the saints will live and reign with Christ for 1000 years. We conclude that the 1000 years is in heaven and in this view the 1000 years is on earth.
The major difference is that we show that the wicked are all killed but they teach that the wicked living survive.
Natural processes continue and even death will occur. Wild animals will be tame and people will have the life span before the flood, living 500 years or more.
In this time 144,000 virgin Jews work with Jesus to preach to the world and they get a second chance.
Millennium Abyss.
We believe that the earth is empty and desolate in this time and the saints with their new bodies are in heaven with Jesus Christ while all the wicked are dead.
» Contradictions.
This confusion about the millennium events possibly arose because of the descriptions of an ideal life under the direct rulership of God which seems to be accompanied with the possibility of death, the opportunity to have children and the existance of the living wicked.
- No Second Chance.
We all get one chance to die and then after this the judgment (Hebrews 9: 27-28). Therefore their second chance scenario cannot include the dead.
This raises an issue of fairness. Why does the last generation which received the most evidence, get another chance when all the wicked dead do not receive this chance?
A fair system would also allow the wicked dead to be raised for a second chance to be taught by God Himself.
A better system would be to skip the 6000 years of drama and have God teach us from the beginning.
- Death. If there is no more death, then how can a child "die at 100" (Isaiah 65: 20). An alternate reading would be "For the youth will die [cease to be] at the age of one hundred ...", meaning that a 100 year old person would be still considered a youth, after this age they "cease to be youth" and officially become the equivalent of teenagers or young adults.
- Children. If Jesus says that there are no more marriages in heaven, then how can we grow into bigger clans?
In our next lesson on heaven, we show that there will be no marriages or new children in heaven during the millennium.
However, when we return to earth, then the original plans will be in effect and we can marry and have children in the new earth.
- Jews Left Behind.
This view seems to create an Apartheid system in heaven. There are the saints versus those who needed a second chance.
Then there are the Jews who have been assigned a leadership role among those who need a second chance, and who will themselves be thrown in the lake of fire if they do not accept Jesus Christ.
This second chance scenario absolves the urgency of our responsibility to reach the world before the Second Coming.
It also allow some to work with the Jews to produce certain end time events they perceive as necessary before the rapture, while not caring about what happens when they are secretly raptured.
- The Two Jerusalems.
This view has two spheres of existance and Jesus Christ occupies both spheres.
There will be people with resurrected bodies and some with natural bodies.
There are two Jerusalems. The first is the supernatural Jerusalem where the saints in their resurrected bodies exist.
The second is the millennial Jerusalem which is the old city where the people with natural bodies go during the millennial reign.
New Jerusalem.
The 375 mile wide Holy City comes from heaven and settles over the place where the current Jerusalem is located.
The old city is destroyed with the earth.
- White Throne Judgment. The wicked face their final judgment.
- Hell Fire. We all agree that the wicked of all time will be cast into the lake of fire after this final judgment.
Where we disagree is that we believe that this is when hell fire begins and that it will go out after the wicked and their works are burned up. Then the earth is recreated.
In the other view hell fire is now burning and will burn forever.
What is illogical about this view is that the wicked are now burning in hell fire before the judgment.
When is it fair or logical for execution or punishment to precede the trial?
The same view also has God hauling the wicked out of their punishment to be judged and then thrown back into hell fire.
If they are already being punished by the sovereign will of God why go through this moot trial?
It is a level of barbarity unbecoming the professed character of God.
God is not so "good" and loving that He will let rebellious people live forever and save anyone who rejects Him. However, He is a God of justice, truth and mercy.
Eternal Fire.
The wicked are burned up in hell fire on the old earth. Hell is not burning forever, torturing the wicked. The results of the judgment and fire are eternal. Death! When the fire goes out the new earth will be recreated on it.
- New Earth. Jesus prepares the world for the coming of the Father.
New Creation. The Father already came with the Son at the Second Coming.
Together they recreate the earth at the Third Coming.
Repetition and Enlargement
The events of this period are mentioned in many old testament prophecies.
Many prophecies blended the Second Coming and the destruction of the wicked in a simple statement.
This is because the righteous will suffer no more after this event and all that remains is the
destruction of the wicked.
Revelation 20 gives more details about these events that are connected to that time:
- Millennium.
- Isaiah 13: 20-22 The earth will not be inhabited from generation to generation
and only the shaggy goat will be there. The shaggy goat is the scapegoat, Satan.
- Isaiah 14 describes the millennium in detail.
- Isaiah 24 and 25 described the earth as destroyed and abandoned.
- Isaiah 26: 14, 19, 20 describes separate resurrections for the wicked and the righteous.
It says that the righteous as being hidden for a little while. They will be in heaven during the millennium.
- Resurrection.
The doctrine of the resurrection is clearly explained in Revelation 20, for the first time
we know that there are two resurrections separated by 1000 years.
- The Binding of Satan. The old testament gives the most detail about this time.
Isaiah refers to this punishment of Satan.
Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol, to the recesses of the pit.
Those who see you will gaze at you, they will ponder over you saying,
"Is this the man who made the earth tremble,
who shook kingdoms, who made the world like a wilderness and overthrew the cities,
who did not allow his prisoners to go home?"
All the kings of the earth lie in glory, each in his own tomb.
But you have been thrown out of your tomb like a rejected branch, clothed with the slain who are pierced with a sword,
who go down to the stones of the pit like a trampled corpse.
You will not be united with them in burial, because you have ruined your country, you have slain your people.
May the offspring of evildoers not be mentioned forever.
(Isaiah 14: 15-20)
- The Judgment of the Wicked. They will be able to start a war after the decisions of the judgment has been made.
A decision that they agree with but are too stubborn to accept.
- Battle of Armageddon. It is actively fought after the millennium and after the final judgment before God.
- Hell. the righteous will be in the middle of it but we will not be touched by it.
- New earth and a new time. We will start a new time frame.
Many of these old testament prophecies were given in the context of the fall of Babylon.
Aside from the prophecies of Daniel, the destiny of Babylon is the only old testament prophecy that is picked up
by Revelation as being future.

The events of the millennium in order are as follows:
- The Second Coming and the First Resurrection.
The Millennium starts with the Second Coming of Christ. This is a visible event. At that time
the righteous dead are raised and the righteous living a changed and together they rise in the air to meet God.
Simultaneously, the earth is devastated with hail about 100 pounds each and the wicked living are killed. The wicked dead remain dead.
- The Millennium on Earth (The Largest Prison).
At this point the earth is devastated, smashed and burned. The Bible describes it as an abyss, similar to its state before creation.
No one is alive except for Satan. He is restricted to this planet and cannot leave. In this environment he is forced to roam the earth and view the
devastation that he has caused.
- The Millennium in Heaven (The Longest Party).
Meanwhile, the saints are in heaven with Christ for a Sabbath rest from evil. During this time they get to know God
more fully. They also get an opportunity to judge by reviewing all the decisions that God has made.
They get a chance to affirm why this or that seemingly good person did not make it to heaven.
Why God was patient with sinners even as terrible crimes were being committed on Earth.
- The Third Coming and the Second Resurrection.
At the end of the millennium God comes back to the earth with the saints and city, the New Jerusalem.
The city is placed on the former geographical location of the Mount of Olives. It is 1500 miles square and 1500 miles high.
The resurrection of the wicked (second resurrection) occurs.
God pronounces final judgment on the wicked. At the end of the process, even the wicked admit that
God has been fair and just and bow down to Him.
Soon afterwards Satan convinces them that their only options are to wait for death or to try to take the city by force.
They have nothing to lose since they are already under a death sentence. Apparently, enough time is given for him to make this argument,
work with all the military geniuses and make weapons.
God will demonstrate that even after they admit to their errors
they still have not changed. Not one of them is salvageable because they will always use their free will to rebel and cause disruption.
- The Battle of Armageddon.
They encircle the city of God that has been transported to the Earth, ready to attack.
The battle is short lived. It started at the time they martyred the final saints and it was interrupted by the Second coming and resumes now.
- Hell Fire.
God sends fire to destroy them. This is the hell fire. This causes the second and permanent death.
The fire eventually goes out because the righteous will walk on the ashes of the wicked (Satan and humans).
- The New Heaven and New Earth
God creates new heavens and earth with the New Jerusalem at the center. The great controversy is over.
