What Color Is God? The Use Of Color In Bible Symbolism
The law of color combination of pigments states the following: There are three primary colors from which all other colors can be made.

• The primary colors are red, blue and yellow.
• Purple is a combination of red and blue.
• Green is a combination of yellow and blue.
• Orange is a combination of yellow and red.
• White is a combination of all colors - red, blue and yellow.
• Black is the absence of any color.

So we will look at how God uses color in the sanctuary and we will also look at the science of color in nature to demonstrate the attributes of God. Here is a summary.

Subtractive color systems start with light. It explains the mixing of natural colorants (dyes, paints and inks). Color is perceived by subtracting some colors and reflecting others. Sin is not reflecting all the light.	White	Righteousness	Love. Perfection of all characters and principles before God. Knowledge of God.
	Black	Sin, evil	The absence of the light of God. Separation from God.

The primary colors appear to represent the core attributes or character of God.
The secondary colors appear to represent the roles of God as He seeks to reconcile one character to another within us.
The colors black and white, represent the status of man as we reject or accept the colors of God.
Just as He uses numbers prophetically and symbolically, God uses colors symbolically in the sanctuary, its services and in the prophecies.
By looking at the colors and combinations and their symbols a pattern emerges. By examining the roles assigned to the members of the Trinity and the use of color in the bible, one can speculate about the meanings of the secondary colors and how the combination of primary colors interact to demonstrate a truth.
The Bible teaches that it is valid to look at nature to learn about God. And it also teaches that everyone has some internal knowledge of God that is convincing and they also have "a measure of faith" (Romans 12: 3).
Because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. (Romans 1: 19-20)

And according to the Psalms. The heavens are telling the Glory of God and their expanse shows the work of His handiwork. Day to day they speak and night to night reveals knowledge. (Psalm 19: 1-2)
We will examine nature and the science of color combination to learn about God.

Substitute

Red
For the life of the flesh is in the blood. (Leviticus 17: 11)
Red is the sacrifice. It means life. When life is taken, red can appear to mean death. It is the blood of Christ which cleanses us and covers us from the penalty of sin. The sanctuary had a covering of red. This symbolizes the protection the blood of Christ offers us. This covering is the mercy seat over us.
This dimension points out a characteristic of heaven. We are connected. If one suffers all suffer. We bear each other's burdens. We give, no matter the cost. Receiving is just a bonus. What we are about is the welfare of others. We are a sacrificial people.

Yellow
I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich. (Revelation 3: 18)
Yellow or gold signifies character. Our character is the 'gold tried in fire'. It is achieved through receiving the Holy Spirit as He writes the law in our hearts. It is what makes all we do 'spiritual'. It is the motives and intentions behind all our actions. It is rooted in the law and acted out in love. We are good people.

Orange
I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich. (Revelation 3: 18)

Pentecost

The only orange color or symbolism we can see are the flames of the Holy Spirit. Gold tends to be part of this color scheme. God wants our characters to come out 'like Gold tried in the fire'. Orange combines red and yellow. As Witness and Comforter on earth, the Holy Spirit has the task of making us perfect. Because of the sacrifice of Christ, he can now change our character and reconcile us to God. He sustains or comforts the saints as we wait for our deliverance.
He provides the daily link we need to heaven. Because of this role in daily leading us to God, He can switch to being a witness for or against us in the future - because everyone will be given the chance to accept or reject His call. So he is also a judge at this time. Judging between good and evil, searching our hearts, cutting away the evil, repairing the damage of sin, placing us in the fiery furnace until we emerge perfect.
Our court systems pretend to rehabilitate us. God actually does it through the Holy Spirit. Instead of immediate punishment, God has a plan of rehabilitation. We have a comforting Judge who now dispenses mercy instead of justice. We are a persevering and patient people.

Blue
And they saw the God of Israel and under His feet there appeared to be a pavement of sapphire, as clear as the sky itself. (Exodus 24: 10)
Now above the expanse that was above their heads there was something resembling a throne, like lapis lazuli (sapphire) in appearance; on that which resembled a throne, high up, was a figure with the appearance of a man. (Ezekiel 1: 26)

The Blue Throne

Speak to the sons of Israel, and tell them that they shall make for themselves tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and that they shall put on the tassel of each corner a cord of blue. "It shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the LORD, so as to do them and not follow after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you played the harlot, so that you may remember to do all My commandments and be holy to your God. "I am the LORD your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt to be your God; I am the LORD your God. (Numbers 15: 38-41)
Blue is the law. The ten Commandments were carved from a blue stone which was a part of the throne of God. The Israelites wore a blue tassel to remind them of the Law (Numbers 15: 38-41). The priest's garment had gold, red, blue and purple. The whore of revelation was adorned in everything except blue - she violates the law, yet she wants riches, priesthood and sacrifice. She just did not like the rules. But we are a people of the law.

Purple
Covered The Altar. Then they shall take away the ashes from the altar, and spread a purple cloth over it. (Numbers 4: 13)
Purple has become the symbol of royalty, but it clearly was a symbol that was related to the priesthood and sacrifice when God used it. This color was in the priest's garments and the coverings of the sanctuary and the doorways. Significantly, the altar of sacrifice was covered in purple when the sanctuary was moved. (Numbers 4: 13). This prophecy was fulfilled when he was dressed in purple at the trial.

Covered The Priest-King. And the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and put a purple robe on Him; (John 19: 2; Mark 15: 17)

The Priest Purple Covering

The priest is the lawyer for the government and law of God. He studies this law and teaches it to the people and administers justice. Therefore, Christ becomes our priest and defender before God. The color purple is in the doors to the sanctuary because the sanctuary is the place where we go to get justice from God. Purple is the color of the royal priesthood. One is priest first and king also.

» The Secular Use. Since purple was expensive to produce, it became associated with wealth. The emperors of Rome eventually used this color for royalty. So at the time of His trial, the soldiers intended to mock Jesus as the king of the Jews and they dressed Him in purple and placed a crown of thorns on His head. When they did this, they inadvertently dressed Him up as the altar of sacrifice! So, although they intended to mock Him, they unknowingly fulfilled a prophecy as they dressed the altar for transportation.
Purple is a combination of red and blue. The priest fulfilled the demands of the law by becoming the sacrifice. He atoned for the broken law (blue) with His red blood. Therefore, when the law and sacrifice combined it formed purple. No wonder the place of sacrifice was covered in purple. We are also destined to be priest-kings of God. We die daily to sin.

Green
Green is the symbol of royalty and eternal life. It is a combination of blue and yellow. A good king has laws and he does his duties in love. And his people keep the law because they are of good character. The blue combines with the gold to produce one harmonious society.
We see the green color in at least four places in the Bible, three having to do with happy times spent with the king.

The Feast of Tabernacles

1. The Throne Of God.
   And He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance. (Revelation 4: 3)
   Both jasper and emerald are green stones. Sardius is red. Jasper can also be red or blue.
   
   God is described as sitting on a throne with an emerald (green) rainbow over him. The rainbow was always a covenant symbol. It is the King who makes the covenant to combine the law with love, in our hearts. The covenant says that he will be our God and king and we will be His people. To do that he will write the law in our hearts. He combines the blue and the yellow.
2. Jesus The King. When Christ came to Jerusalem on that last Sunday before his crucifixion, he was greeted as the king with green palm branches.
3. The Feast Of Tabernacles. the feast that celebrates living with God.
   Now on the first day you shall take for yourselves, the foliage of beautiful trees, palm branches and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days. (Leviticus 23: 40)
   The feast of tabernacles is adorned with green branches. It is the time when we lived with the king. Green is clearly the symbol of royalty and being in the presence of the king. We are from an ancient royal family. We will continue to reign and rule in the new earth.
4. The People Of God. Revelation 7: 1,3 commands the angel not to hurt the trees. And Revelation 9: 4 suggests that all green things belong to God because those who are not green do not have the seal of God.
   They were told not to hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but only the men who do not have the seal of God in their foreheads.

Pure Woman

We are destined to have eternal life in the presence of God, and reflect the glory of God to the entire universe.

White
Come now let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool. (Isaiah 1: 18)
It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. (Revelation 19: 8)
White is the perfect balance of all three - in love. Love causes us to sacrifice, to obey, to have good characters. So love is the greatest. God is also love because when the three (red, blue, yellow) become one it produces white (love). God is not just any one of these colors. These distinctions merely define the different things God is doing to reconcile us to himself.
It is the covenant that joins the law and the love.
It is grace that combines a sacrifice with love to give us pardon.
It is love that causes mercy to be patient while our characters develop.
We are a perfect people.
The Glory of God. The evidence suggests that when we obtain this perfect balance of colors in our perfect characters, it will also appear in a physical form. The glory of God appears as a white, shining light which radiates from the body as the spiritual and physical unite completely. Goodness is glory and goodness can be seen and put on like clothes.
Then Moses said, "I pray You, show me Your glory!". And He said, "I Myself will make all my goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the Lord before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show compassion on whom I will show compassion". (Exodus 33: 18-19)

Black
But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out in the outer darkness; in that place where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Matthew 8: 12)

The Shadow of Death

To shine upon those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death. (Luke 1: 79)
Notice that black is not the mixture of any color. It is the total absence of all colors.
It is now easy to understand why the image of darkness and black represents evil. It is the absence of law, love and good motives. There is no connection to God.
If black were a combination of colors then we would have to argue that if it represents sin, then sin would be an unbalanced combination of the attributes of God. But this is not the case. Evil is the total absence of the attributes of God. In sin, people live in hatred, lawlessness and selfishness. They do not have a single drop of the colors of God.
If you examine any crime or any evil, at the root of them is the presence of all of these character flaws. And it all starts with a twisted love of self only. The philosophy of the 'me' generation is evil. The principle of evolution contained in the notion of 'the survival of the fittest' is an unnatural law. They all shut out any responsibility to others that is inherent in the concept of mercy, being law abiding and having a conscience.
Christ became sin for us when He was on the cross in the darkness and God turned away from Him. He continued to be sin while He was dead in the grave.
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Corinthians 5: 21)
The sting of sin is death, and the power of sin is the law. (1 Corinthians 15: 56)
We do not walk in darkness any longer. We are a people of the light.

The Metal Colors
There are three other colors mentioned in the sanctuary that are actually descriptions of the metals. So we will not find their meaning by an analysis of color combinations. While the colors represent characteristics, the metals represent people in various stages of perfection for those crafted by God to undergo severe trials.

• Iron. This metal was not used in the sanctuary. It seems to represent harsh treatment when used.
• Bronze ("Outer Court"). Bronze is a mixture of copper and tin. Brass is a mixture of copper and Zinc. The furniture in the outer court and the base of the poles were made of bronze. This is not a pure metal. It represents our mixed state on earth as we are joined to God through the Holy Spirit. It is the metal that is used for fiery trials and to represent the cleansing that the righteous must go through on the earth. We will all be washed by water, but some must pass through the fire.
  everything that can stand the fire, you shall pass through the fire, and it shall be clean, but it shall be purified with water for impurity. But whatever cannot stand the fire you shall pass through the water. (Numbers 31: 23)
  » Bronze Snake and Bronze Altar. Christ, suffering as a wicked man in the outer court was represented as a bronze snake and as the sin offering on the bronze altar and as a bronze laver holding the water of cleansing.
• Silver. The utensils, curtain hooks and the base of the columns and poles are made from silver. Silver tarnishes easily and was not suitable for making furniture. It represents an intermediate stage for those still on earth and may represent a vulnerable stage in our trials.
• Gold ("Most Holy Place"). It represents the one with the most perfect character. All furniture in the Holy Place and Most Holy Place and the walls of the sanctuary were gold. Everything represents the recognition of the perfection of Christ after He had left the earth (outer court). While He was on earth, He was treated as a man of common metal and even as Satan himself.
  » Yellow Gold. Although it is the perfect metal, it also has the color of the perfect work of the Holy Spirit. The golden metal and the yellow character tried in the fiery orange are fitting symbols of the process of perfection as the Holy Spirit tries us and cleanses us in water and fire until we stand up in the furnace as pure gold.

The Definition Of Sin

Definition of Sin Sin has a component that is both genetic and willful (nature and nuture). » Sin. Missing the mark. » Iniquity. Twisted or crookedness in our nature. » Transgression. Breaking the law deliberately. » Trespass. Unintentionally breaking law.

But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear. (Isaiah 59: 2)
The definition of sin becomes clearer as you look at it through the colors. Sin is separation from God. At a minimum it starts with and causes separation from God. If we look at various extremes of righteousness, we realize that separation from any member of the Trinity leads to sin. In the worst case, it leads to total darkness because we have separated ourselves from all members of the Trinity.

Sin Is Missing The Mark.
Sin is being deficient in one or more areas of each of the members of the trinity. So we cannot reach the state of perfection where we perfectly blend all the attributes of God.
For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. (Romans 3: 23)
What is this glory according to the Bible?

• Great Honor. Fame, wealth, honor, prestige, greatness, halo and a brilliant display are the images that come to mind when one thinks of the concept of glory.
  Brilliant And Spectacular Attire. Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. (Luke 12: 27)
  Prestige. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (2 Peter 1: 17)
  Unparalleled Greatness. To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. (Jude 1: 25)
• Character. In this exchange with Moses we see that glory is character that can be seen. When Moses asked God to show him His glory, God responded by letting His goodness pass before him. This was apparently not a movie sequence of His great works but His physical body from the rear view became visible.
  The Visible Goodness Of God. And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen. (Exodus 33: 18-23)
  Apparently a facial view was so glorious it would be deadly to Moses. It destroys the wicked at the end.
  Goodness Is Lethal To The Wicked. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: (2 Thessalonians 2: 8)
• A Visible Covering Of Light. In perfection we have a covering of light like clothes.
  • God. God is covered in light. This is why the sun is used as a symbol of God.
    God. Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: (Psalm 104: 2)
  • Adam And Eve. The moment Adam and Eve sinned they immediately noticed that they were naked.
    Adam And Eve. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. (Genesis 3: 6-7)
    Sin had removed their covering. If this covering was light, then sin turned off their light.
• Clothed By Light (Generated Or Reflected). The bible symbolizes the heavenly bodies as representing the relationship between God and His faithful followers, each differing in the intensity of glory.
  Multiple Glories. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. (1 Corinthians 15: 41)
  • Sun. It generates its own light, representing God who is the source of goodness.
    » Shekinah Glory. When God appeared on Sinai and at the tabernacle, a spectacular fire and light accompanied Him and concealed Him from the people.
    Sinai Glory. And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel. (Exodus 24: 17)
    Temple Glory. And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever. (2 Chronicles 7: 3)
    Notice that when the people saw this they praised God for His goodness.
  • Moon. It reflects the sunlight, representing the church reflecting the character of God. The full moon represents the greatest light shining from the church. However, at this stage, the goodness of man is still a reflection of God's righteousness. This is why the church can only be covered by the righteousness given by God. We cannot generate righteousness yet.
    » Moses' Face. As Moses talked to God His face absorbed and reflected the light from God.
    The Unveiled Face. And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. (Exodus 34: 29)
  • Stars. They are also suns, but from the perspective of the earth they are tiny suns. They represent the righteous who are not God but in perfection we not only reflect the image of God but the goodness of God now emerges internally like a well of light and becomes a self-generated covering.
    A Well Spring Of Water. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (John 7: 38)
• Reflected Character. Now we can deal with these strange references to glory. We have learned that glory is a visible covering for nakedness and that it can be generated out of one body and dimly reflected from another. Our greatest glory is in reflecting the character of the one out of whom we have come.
  • Man: The Image And Glory Of God. Man was made from out of God, but unlike the animals He was also made in the "image and likeness of God" and is the glory of God.
    Uncovered. For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. (1 Corinthians 11: 7)
  • Woman: The Glory Of Man. God made woman "out of man" so in a sense she was made in the image of man and is the glory of man. However, because man is made in the image of God, woman is also made in the image of God but she has this secondary source of reflected glory. An analysis of our sex genes shows this difference. It illustrates how the process goes only one way.
    • God (XY?). As the creator, God has the tools to make all genders and more.
    • Male (XY). He has the capacity to determine both male and female genders.
    • Female (XX). She can only produce females. She has no "Y" chromosome and he has no womb. In His wisdom God designed the pair with systems that complement each other so that in producing another out of them it requires the design of both. They must be one.
    So, although one comes out of another, it is a diminished glory. Even combined as one, the couple cannot reflect the total glory of God.
  • Hair As A Covering. Hair is the only other natural rays that come out of our body. Yet the Bible says that long hair is glory for a woman while covering his head and long hair is a disgrace for males.
    Visible righteousness is a combination of a natural veil for the body to cover our nakedness and unveiled faces to reflect the transformed mind of God.
    • Veiled Body. After sin removed their natural covering of light, God supplied Adam and Eve with an artificial covering, replacing their man-made covering of fig leaves with one made of animal skin and hair. Only God can provide a righteous covering.
      Mad-Made Fig Leaf. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
      Skin. Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them. (Genesis 3: 21)
      The important attribute is that because natural long hair can be a covering for our nakedness this is why it is a source of glory.
      The Natural Glory Of Woman. Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering. (1 Corinthians 11: 14-15)
      In nature, it is typically the male who has a glorious display as seen in the lion's mane and the peacock's feathers. So Paul must be looking specifically at the human customs. Long hair plus long facial hair would be terrible to look at.
    • Unveiled Faces. It was only after Adam deliberately sinned that the penalty applied to humans. Eve's unintentional sin was not the trigger. Therefore, man (humans) cannot make their own covering of righteousness by either natural or artificial means. Our covering must be made by God. Since our new character is a transformation of the mind, our heads cannot be covered.
• The New Creature. Like Moses, the saints can reflect this glory of God by looking into His face and being transformed. Like Adam, this glory will be a mirror image reflection of God as we are born again and transformed into the perfect image and character of God through the work of the Holy Spirit.
  Increasing In Perfection. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. (2 Corinthians 3: 18)

Sin Is The Absence Of One Or More Attributes of God
This is a better definition. It is also called "falling short of the glory of God". (Romans 3: 23)
If you reject one of these attributes, you are rejecting the God who is introducing it to us. Eventually, the rejection of one aspect of righteousness will lead to the rejection or modification of the others, since the concepts are tightly linked.
You cannot be completely lawful if you reject the Holy Spirit. Sooner or later you will change or reject some part of the law of God and you will come to accept the belief that change is impossible.

• Lawless. Sin is breaking the law and rejecting the Father.
  Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. (1 John 3: 4)
  In the extreme, the lawless live by their own code of law. The righteous who are lawless, choose the laws they want to obey or choose how they want to obey it. They see no problem in changing or substituting the law of God.
• Unbelief. The sin of unbelief is the rejection of Christ. (John 16: 9)
  ... For whatever is not from faith is sin. (Romans 14: 23)
  These people see no purpose for the death of Christ and many do not believe in or care about the truth of the resurrection.
• Stubbornness. This is resisting the Holy Spirit and the word of God.
  For rebellion is as the sin of divination and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. (1 Samuel 15: 23)
  Stubbornness is like idolatry because you have chosen to make yourself and your opinions god.
  A stubborn person chooses to disobey after the Holy Spirit has convinced them of the truth. Or they neglect to investigate truth, choosing to live as they always have in the past. The Holy Spirit only works with the obedient.
  ... And so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him. (Acts 5: 32)
  
  The Holy Spirit has the task of convincing us of these three dimensions of sin.
  And He when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see me; and concerning judgment because the ruler of this world has been judged. (John 16: 8-11)
  Again we have the three colors. The work of the Holy Spirit is to convince us of these three important areas.
  • Red (Sin). He teaches us what is wrong. Rejecting faith in Christ is sin. Unbelief is a sin.
  • Yellow (Righteous). He teaches us what is right. The Holy Spirit could only come when Christ leaves. We no longer have Christ in the flesh as the model of righteousness, so the Holy Spirit now does this work. He is our example of the righteousness of God.
    But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. (John 16: 7)
  • Blue (Judgment). The law will be used for judgment. Satan and his rule of lawlessness are now under judgment.

What Is The Unpardonable Sin?
Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come. (Matthew 12: 31-32)
The unpardonable sin is the rejection of the work of the Holy Spirit through continual disobedience. It is His job to lead each person from sin to righteousness. In this process He keeps revealing sin. That is why Romans says that the Holy Spirit is given to those who obey Him. Those who reject His counsel do not want to be convinced of sin. Therefore, those sins remain with them. They are unpardonable because we refuse to let them go and God has no other option to free us.

And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him. (Luke 12: 10)
Why is blasphemy against Christ forgivable but not the Holy Spirit, especially if Christ is our only hope of Salvation?
And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4: 12)

• Blasphemy Against Christ. Whether or not you are a Christian, Jew, Atheist, Muslim or Hindu it is only through Christ that you will be saved. This includes those who never heard about Christ or those who heard about Him but could not believe in Him because of the actions of His representatives on earth or because it stretches your sense of logic.
  The people among these groups who are saved will be saved because of the law about sin done in ignorance. However, they are still saved because the Christ who they never knew or could never reasonably believe in provided a way for their salvation. Within this group of good people who are blasphemers are two types of people.
  • Never Heard about Christ. Their blasphemy against Christ is forgivable because they could not possibly be expected to know about Christ and what He has done and respond to this knowledge.
    So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. (Romans 10: 17)
  • Hated Christians. They hate Christ because what they know of Him is tarnished by His followers. In their view, whatever they believe in is far more superior and moral. So their intention is not to do the works of evil, or to be rebellious but to do the best good that they know. This good way is usually based on their culture and what they have been taught. They follow the god or the good that they grew up to know.
  So blasphemy against Christ is forgivable because the only way to know about Christ is through external knowledge. So a reasonable excuse for resistance to this external knowledge is easier to understand. In this case, ignorance is a reasonable excuse. This blasphemy can be forgiven.

  The Unpardonable Sin Why are some sins unpardonable? In the plan of salvation Jesus has bought the ticket to heaven and He has made it available at no cost to us. All we have to do is accept the ticket and get on the air plane. The Holy Spirit is like the airplane and the pilot. He will guide us to Heaven. But if we refuse to get on board we cannot get to our destination. That is why it is a sin against the Holy Spirit. We refuse His leadership. Our sins are unpardonable because we refuse to leave them behind. Our sins are unpardonable because we refuse to take the only transportation that will lead us away from them. It is not God's actions that make our sins unpardonable. It is ours.

• Blasphemy Against The Holy Spirit. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is quite different because this is based on resisting internal knowledge and inner reasoning and common sense that even you are convinced is right. Blasphemy against Christ must first involve a refusal to believe His claims and then to reject His commandments and way of life about what is right and wrong. But blasphemy against the Holy Spirit always includes first resisting what your conscience convinces you is right or wrong or worthy of attention in many areas of life.
  » Reveals Christ. Since He can convince you about robbery or murder, He can also try to convince you about Christ when you come in contact with information about Christ. His major mission is to teach about Christ. And only in the cases where the Holy Spirit convinces you to consider Christianity will this resistance become sin. He can only do this if there is a reasonable chance that you can know about Christ or believe in Him above anything else that you have been taught. In this case, you are blaspheming both Christ and the Holy Spirit because of stubborn resistance.
• Blasphemy Against The Father. Although the Bible speaks about blasphemy against God in general, it does not specifically address the consequence of blasphemy against the Father in particular. This is probably because of the assumption that, if it is not stated explicitly, blasphemy is assumed to be against the one Supreme Being. But general blasphemy is also described as resisting internal evidence.
  Resisting The Evidence Within. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (Romans 1: 18-21)
  So blasphemy against God in general may be on par with blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Here is why.
  • A Measure Of Faith ("Internal Evidence"). God testifies that He has given everyone the capacity to reasonably believe that there is a greater intelligence without any external intervention.
    Enough To Believe. For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith. (Romans 12: 3)
    We also have a longing for God inside us.
    God Set Eternity In The Heart Of Man. He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end. (Ecclesiastes 3: 11)
  • A Faith That Is Reasonable ("External Evidence"). Even for those who resist "myths and fables", God has prepared evidence that should convince the most rational and scientific mind that there is an external force or greater intelligence out there who is responsible for the order that we see and that it is foolishness to believe that mere chance could have created what we see.
    How you respond to this evidence is a different matter. That is called religion. But that you should respond is not open to debate.
  The implications are stunning. Pure atheism is irrational because it resists inner evidence. So can it be forgiven?
  The good news is that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit can be forgiven when you stop resisting Him. So as long as you are alive, your continued resistance is not an unpardonable sin because He will keep trying to convince you until it is no longer possible. Until then, you cannot hide behind agnostic arguments such as "I do not know" and do nothing except support the atheistic view of life. You must seek God. It is your duty as a rational being.
• Reject Proof Of God (Eligible For The Wrath of God). They show signs of destruction within them. God's formal response is a recognition of their degenerate state. They refuse to be pruned and dressed. They hate discipline.
  Blessed. For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
  Wrath of God. But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned. (Hebrews 6: 7-8)
  Reserved For Hell Fire. But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. (2 Peter 3: 7)

Sin, Trespasses And Iniquity
Three different words are used to describe sin. They correspond to the three dimensions in which man is structured.

Spirit, Soul And Body. Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5: 22-23)

All dimensions must be made perfect or blameless and the Word of God can help us to discern the depths of our corruption.
Spirit, Soul And Bones. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4: 12)

• Iniquity (Root). This goes to the core of the character in the innermost man. All three show a progression from the outward appearance to the root cause. Sin begins with the secret intentions of the heart.
  The Fruit Of Temptation. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. (James 1: 14-15)
  Satan's sin started from within.
  Rotten To The Core. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. (Ezekiel 28: 15-16)
  Temptation only works on what we desire. This is the expansion of the definition of sin that Jesus described. Hate, pride, lust, greed and rebellion all create an attitude that is called wickedness. However, some of these emotions are valid under certain conditions. You can hate if there is a cause. God Himself promises to put enmity between us and Satan. You can lust, but only for your lawfully wedded spouse. You can rebel against evil.
  Cleansing iniquity is the work of the Holy Spirit. He washes us clean and sanctifies us.
  Renewing The Inner Man. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. (Psalm 51: 7, 10-11)
• Trespass Or Transgression (Branch). Stepping out of the boundaries set by law and breaking the law by acting on out intentions. Leviticus 5 also defines trespasses as unintentional acts revealed to us. Iniquity is good that we failed to do. Guilt is being in a state of sin even if we are aware of it or not.
  Pardoning our transgressions is the work of the Father.
  Mercy. And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation (Exodus 34: 6-7)
  . And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me. (Jeremiah 33: 8)
  . Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. (Psalm 51: 1)
• Sin (Fruit). All acts that fall short of perfection are sin, whether it is intentional, unintentional or by ignorance.
  Healing sin and rescuing us from slavery to sin is the work of Jesus Christ obtained through sacrifice.
  • Curing Sinners. Daniel prophesied that Jesus would solve the entire spectrum of our sin problem.
    Crucifixion. Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. (Daniel 9: 24)
  • Redeeming Sinners. His sacrifice made a substitution for our punishment.
    The Lord's Goat. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. (Isaiah 53: 5, 10)
  • Punishing The Source. In the end, Satan will justifiably be blamed for all our sins.
    The Scapegoat. And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: (Leviticus 16:21)
  The only sacrifice acceptable to God is the one that allows Him to fix our dysfunctional being.
  We must be broken and humbled and become like little children so that our minds are willing to learn and be reshaped by the Holy Spirit. Then God will cleanse and pardon us so that our deeds reflect true righteousness.
  True Sacrifice. For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. (Psalm 51: 16-17)

A State Of Perdition (The Rebellious Who Were Hated By God).
If we cannot define the unpardonable sin by definitions related to God, perhaps we can describe people who have reached this condition.
Committing the unpardonable sin gets one in the state of perdition. Where is that?
Perdition is not a place. It is not hell fire. But those who are destined for hell fire are in a state of perdition.
When God gives a person the full measure of proof and he rejects it, then the result is that they will be rejected.
Only a certain type of person can reach this point. It is very specific and most people are not in jeopardy of reaching it.
Impossible To Reform. For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. (Hebrews 6: 4-6)
They must be enlightnened, have experienced the gifts or seen it first hand by the great power of God.

A Sign Of Perdition. They hated God and He hated them. In their sin these all sold their birthright and have entered the category of "hated" by God like Esau. Judas, Lucifer and the fallen angels are in this state. Lucifer was a covering cherub, honored. The angels had lived perfection. Pharoah and Judas saw great miracles, Judas had the powers and experienced the favor of God. Like Lucifer, Judas and Balaam, they sold out God for money for greed.
Greed. Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; (2 Peter 2: 15)
Money And Murder. Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. (Jude 1: 11)
They mutinied, enticed rebellion and assassinated the character or the Person of God. They murdered God.

• Lucifer (The Beast). He goes into perdition. He coveted the throne of God, lied and murdered and blamed the innocent.
  Beast. The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. (Revelation 17: 8)
  Eighth Head (Dragon). And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. (Revelation 17: 11)
• Fallen Angels. Taking sides with Lucifer, it is impossible to restore them. The angels spurned God's attempts and now salvation is only for humans.
• The Antichrist (Papacy). The son of perdition, he sits in the house of God, acting as God. This is Lucifer's dream.
  Son Of Perdition. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (2 Thessalonians 2: 3)
  This is why he comes to the earth as the eighth head to take over from the papal god.
• Judas (Son Of Perdition). A thief, jockeying for power, he risked the life of Christ to force Him to take power and rule his way on his schedule.
  Lost. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. (John 17: 12)
• Pharoah. He hardened his heart after ignoring great signs and dire warnings ten times.
• The Rebellion of Korah (Core) (Numbers 16). A Levite, already blessed and honored, he despised the gift and coveted the position of the priests and rebelled. They thought the service of God was a small thing, not worthy of them. Like Esau they despised the honor God gave them and hungered for the priesthood. He accused Moses and God and defiantly rebelled.
  Lucifer wanted God's throne. Korah wanted Moses' position. He did not understand that only Christ will be the Priest of God, able to offer incense (prayer). Only Moses and Aaron could be the model. Accusing Moses and God, for greed, they committed the unpardonable sin.
  The papacy thinks they can offer incense and replace God and have entered the same state of perdition.
• Cain. He murdered his brother because he was jealous and angry with God's decision.
• Balaam. For money he sold his gift from God, attempting to use it to curse God's people.
• Saul. He rebelled and offered incense and ignored the instructions of Samel from God. He was rejected and fell into witchcraft and murder. He had a reprobate mind.
• The Ungodly. An assortment of humans who tasted God will fall into this category. There are clear signs of this.
  • Those Who Looked Back. There is a class who escaped wrath and turned back with proof of God. God compares this as swine wallowing in mud and a dog returning to his own vomit.
    Not Worthy. For some this is an invitation to become priests of God, laborers in His vineyard. Get your priorities straight. As such we should not be worried about dead bodies or saying goodbye to parents.
    Immediate Obedience Required. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. (Matthew 10: 37)
    A Laborer For God. Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. (Luke 9: 60-61)
    Answer The Call. And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. (Luke 9: 62)
    This is meant to show the urgency. There is nothing you can do for the dead and God must be more important than fraternizing with your family.
    Lot's Wife. Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven; And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. (Genesis 9: 24-26)
  • Unbelief (Those Who Draw Back). Exodus 19-20 describes a nation that drew back in fear and did not become a nation of priests. They had seen the great power of God in the exodus and experienced God's great love and three days later they almost stoned moses and accused God and Moses of trying to kill them of thirst. So He gave them water and when the moment came for the marriage they drew back and sent Moses to listen to God calling Him "scary" and accused Him of trying to kill them (Exodus 20: 18-19).
    . But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul. (Hebrews 10: 39)
    Moses did not treat God as holy. He showed unbelief in striking the rock twice. In his actions he did not give glory to God to sanctify His name. In this case "believe" was similar to "obey".
    Disobedient. And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the Lord, and he was sanctified in them. (Numbers 20: 11-13)
    Only two people entered the Promised Land. The rest died in the wilderness and their children went to Canaan.
  • Pursue Lust. Demas, a former evangelist, may have fallen under this temptation.
    Demas Loved The World. For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia. (2 Timothy 4: 10)
    Tempted By Riches. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. (1 Timothy 6: 9)
  • Terrorists (Bullies). Their token of perdition is that they terrify people.
    Fearless Righteous. And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God. (Philippians 1: 28)
    However, a sign of righteousness is those who refuse to wilt and cave under pressure.
  • Stubborn (Hardened Hearts). Stubborn and stiffnecked, they refuse to be changed and wilfully resist the thought of conforming, just for the purpose of resisting.
  • Attribute The Works Of God To Satan (Blaspheme). They lacked common-sense and sound reasoning.
  • Unstable. They will get no reward at the end of the day.
    Two-Faced and Double-Minded. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. (James 1: 6-8)
• Esau. He despised his birthright and traded it for food for one meal. He did not see signs.
• The First Generation Of The Exodus. They saw great signs. They complained, threatened Moses, accused God of trying to kill them, worshipped idols in the presence of God, refused to do what God asked and caused Moses to sin by showing unbelief. Only Joshua and Caleb entered the Promised Land only the children of the first generation entered, Yet, by Jesus declaring that only one man was lost (Judas), and only Korah was indicated it could mean that they were saved like Moses and Aaron but were punished.
  Those who were greedy and lusted for the throne of God enough to commit murder deserved perdition.

Impossible to change, they must be destroyed, root, branches and fruit.
This declaration of rejection and affirmation by the universe means that they will be cast into hell fire.
They have been given the best. They are taking up valuable space, consuming precious resources and producing more evil.

• Black: Pure Evil. Those in total darkness who have separated themselves from all members of the Trinity. They see no need for righteousness. At best, some will have some moral code that will respect the rights of others as long as it does not interfere with their best interests. Situation ethics is their rule of life. Their personal pleasure and profit is their goal.
• Blue: Legalist. A legalist attempts to reconcile to the Father only. The sign of this reconciliation is their perfection. They minimize or do not understand the work of Christ and the Holy Spirit. They achieve righteousness by works.
  Many religions have this dimension only. A code of law and a personal attempt to obey these laws. Letting the Holy Spirit do His work is a foreign concept. They cannot understand Him and do not fully cooperate with Him because there is no equivalent in the human experience.

• Yellow: Spiritualism. These emphasize the work of the Holy Spirit or a Spirit. The modern counterfeit movement of Satan is the New Age and occult systems. They rely heavily on the superior intelligence and power of the spirits, ascended masters and other intelligent life out there, somewhere.
  One occult version of Christianity is the Charismatic movement. They confirm their righteousness through signs or controlling the power of God. The sign of this reconciliation is their ability to control the gifts of God, especially the gift of tongues.
  Another is the practice of praying to intermediaries instead of directly to God. Through the use of charms, emblems and other tokens people appeal to the saint in charge of their specific need. This replaces God and faith and is indistinguishable from the practice of praying to ascended masters.
• Red: Karma (Once Punished, Always Punished). The sacrificial system was introduced to the entire world with Adam and Eve to teach that an innocent God will pay the price for the guilty. It has been transformed to many abominable practices.
  Karma is based on some sort of rough justice legal system that will perpetually punish a physical victim for the crimes of the past spirit until they learn their lesson. These are crimes of which they are not aware in the current incarnation. It is the belief that one suffers justly because of sins done in a previous life. It is the source of abandonment for many of the untouchable people. They are getting what they deserve. Therefore, helping them is frustrating the cosmic justice system. In Karma, one takes on the role of the Son on himself. Other extremes include human sacrifices and self mutilation, to appease God.

Eventually, when we reject God we will substitute our own human theories for what we reject. Eventually, we will even make substitutions for what we initially accept about God because disobedience always completes the separation from God.

Christian Extremes
Christianity includes the concepts of righteousness by faith and the assistance of the Holy Spirit in leading the sinner back to God. We are not left alone to worry about our sins. Our past has been forgiven. We have assistance for the future. We are freed from the past and from the power of sins. Most Christian errors involve the rejection or ignorance of one of these powers of God, but they all acknowledge them.

• Red: Once Saved, Always Saved. They emphasize only the freedom obtained by the work of Christ and reject the law and the work of the Holy Spirit. In the extreme, these people believe that there is no sin that will keep them out of heaven after they have accepted Christ. So they continue to sin or believe that victory over sin is impossible or irrelevant and they obey some comandments sometimes.
  » Making Up the Spirit. However, one tends to find a large emphasis on the signs of the spirit in this group. Lacking the real influence of the Spirit they fill their services with signs of the spirit. So there is a lot of babbling in unknown tongues but no real tongues, heavy reliance on the spontaneous insights of individuals but no prophet, lots of dancing, rolling down the aisle and emotion. But there is no repentance and obedience.
• Orange: Reject The Law. Most people fall into this category or the next. They love Jesus and the Holy Spirit (the red and the yellow). But they hate the law. These claim that all the law was nailed to the cross and Jesus lived a life of perfection for them so they do not have to be perfect. God will make them perfect after the resurrection but now it is impossible.
  » Selective Obedience. However, many accept most of the law except those with which they do not agree. This is usually the Saturday Sabbath. Young people tend to openly have a problem with the seventh commandment.
  Their position is illogical. If the law has been nailed to the cross and there is no need to keep it, then they cannot turn around and argue for the wisdom of nine of the ten or demand that the secular world enforce moral law. They cannot ignore other people's claim that their uncontrollable and natural desires lead them to commit acts of sin. They should then stop condemning pedophelia, kleptomania, drunkenness, gambling, drug addiction, greed, homosexuality, and uncontrollable anger leading to brutal violence and murder.
• Purple: Resist The Holy Spirit. These people have no problem with the law or the atoning sacrifice of Christ. And they believe in the concept of the Holy Spirit. The problem with this group is that they rely on themselves to do the work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a mystery to them. Relying on the Spirit seems to require submission of their will and common sense.
  » Self Reliance. Therefore, they carry on the work of the church through theories derived from education and science. They assess their perfection by looking at the law. After a while most realize that perfection is elusive. Therefore, they live with guilt or the realization that it is impossible to overcome some sins. They do not realize that it is impossible because they will not allow the Holy Spirit to work in them. It is His job to put enmity between our sins and us. Our own will power, wishing and fasting can not do this. Eventually, they give in to popular sins under the assumption that if Christ was sinless then He had special help which is inaccessible to them.
• Green: Reject Jesus. It seems impossible, but there are Christians who reject Christ! This appears to be a new phenomenon that is called the "Moral Influence Theory". According to this thinking, there was no purpose for the death of Jesus. They see no reason for His blood and why He had to die. These facts are irrelevant and embarrassing. It is probably due to the fact that they are trying to reconcile all religions and the blood of Christ is a stumbling block.
  » Accepting a Jesus Model. Their concerns are developing a moral and ethics code that has evolved with the times and diminishes the idea of a separate God.
  In the days of the disciples a similar apostasy appears to have happened. Some people did not believe in the resurrection. Now there appears to be a movement that rejects the atonement of Christ. He now becomes one of many enlightened teachers who were a source of moral influence like Buddha, Muhammad, Krishna and all the other religious figures in history. Eventually, they see no problem with changing the law or relying on their own inner spirit or the powerful supernatural spirits that are attempting to control the human race.

• White: Perfect. There is no separation from God. This person has perfectly blended the work of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They are aware of their proper role in the Plan of Salvation. We actively take steps to learn about God. Then we decide to follow God. Then we submit to the Spirit.
  Somehow, we emerge changed. We see issues in a different way. We hate the things God hates and we love the things He loves. We recognize that there is no light in things that we thought were harmless. Suddenly religion is not boring. Suddenly there is a deep longing for God.

Sets Of Three
There are many divisions based on this idea of three and they can all be traced back to the same type of function being performed by the members of the trinity.
There are three colors, three baptisms or cleansings - (water, blood, fire), three sections of the sanctuary, three sacraments which arise from the three baptisms, three gifts of God to us in reconciling each of his characters, three temples of God which arise from the three areas of work of the members of the Trinity. As you look at the items in the table, think of their primary or secondary colors. Water is blue, fire is orange.
The theme of this section is that the colors represent the activity of each member of the trinity. All three participate in all activities necessary for the restoration of mankind, but they concentrate on different aspects of the problem. Christ is concerned with reconciling actions from the past. The Holy Spirit is concerned with the growth of the Christian in the present. The Father is concerned with the events of the future at the final reconciliation. All three reach into time to carry out the plans that will lead to our final future victory.

God The Father
The Father first makes the eternal covenant with man that he will reconcile man to God and give us rest from sin despite the fact that we had broken the law. He covers or shields us with His mercy while He reconciles us to himself and the law.
In the new earth He is the King, and rivers of life giving waters flow from His throne.
He is regarded as the one who sits in the Most Holy Place, on His throne, over the law carved from the blue stone. So technically, He is in charge of the ministry in this part of the sanctuary.
We respond to Him by surrendering ourselves.

God The Son
The Son keeps God's promise in the covenant by becoming the Lamb who would be sacrificed for our sins. Now, the reconciliation is no longer a promise, it has become reality because God acted to keep His part of the covenant. At His death, Christ also had a Sabbath day rest from sin, and obeyed the law because He was reconciled to the Father. His blood shields and cleanses us from the penalty of sin by becoming a substitute. Life flows from His blood to us. He is the High Priest who serves in all areas of the sanctuary and approaches the Father in the Most Holy Place for us.
We respond to Christ by faith, believing that He has reconciled us to God by His death.

God The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit works in the outer court on earth with the church that has moved into the Holy Place. He helps us to keep our part of the covenant. His job is to work on the human heart, reconciling us to God by changing our hearts - writing the broken law in our hearts. He changes us into new creatures who will keep the law because they have become a part of us. In this change, He baptizes us with fire - removing imperfections and turning out pure Gold. He works on the individual temple. We respond to Him by obedience. He now acts as witness, teacher and judge. He woos. He searches the heart.
At the end, the members of the Trinity will hand over all their roles to the Son as a reward. He will become the Judge, He will become the King and He is already the Priest.

In Perspective: What Is God Doing For Me?
God is working for your salvation at three different levels.
Outer Court: Justification (Past). The Son justified us by His death in the outer court as the Lamb of God, one time on the cross. He set us right with God and bridged the gap between heaven and earth. We only have to believe it. He reaches us at the mental level with His physical act of sacrifice and wipes away the past.

Holy Place: Sanctification (Present). The Holy Spirit sanctifies us daily. His task is to make us perfect by removing the love of sin and the acts of sin from our lives and replacing it with the love and knowledge of God as He writes the law into our hearts. He transforms the most important part of mankind - the spiritual by pleading with us on the mental level through our conscience. He can do this because we now know about Christ. He uses this mental knowledge of the sacrifice of God to plead to us on a spiritual level.
So faith comes by hearing. And hearing by the word of Christ. (Romans 10: 17)
The process of sanctification and the sanctuary system is a method of transferring knowledge and truth about God.
Sanctify them in the truth, Your word is truth. (John 17: 17)
He writes on our hearts through objects in the Holy Place.

• Altar of Incense. He assists our prayers.
  In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. (Romans 8: 26)
• Table of Shewbread. He teaches us about the sacrifice of Christ, His blood and broken body. (John 16: 8-11)
• Menorah. He helps us to understand the word of God, the law and the covenant. (John 16: 8-11)
  Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path. (Psalm 119: 105)

Most Holy Place: Glorification (Future). The Father will make the transformation complete by glorifying us. He will change our dead bodies to the perfect beings He wants us to be so that we can have eternal life with Him in the Most Holy Place. He transforms the last component of mankind. He transforms the physical with His spiritual powers.

An imbalance of righteousness brings a corresponding wrath from the member of the Godhead in charge of that color. Each member oversees a particular document or system in the Plan of Salvation. The primary colors are the system of salvation. The secondary colors are the colors of the people to whom the wrath is applied.

• The Father (The Ten Commandments). The basis of the covenant. The legal punishment for breaking the law brings death. The death of the wicked at the end of time is described as "burning the green grass". This punishment is from the Father. The green grass is burned up by the yellow flames for breaking the blue law.
  Bundles of Weed. ... and all the green grass was burned up. (Revelation 8: 7)
  So just as the weeds are gathered up and burned with fire, so shall it be at the end of the age. (Matthew 13: 40)
  While the good people grow up to be "trees of righteousness" with deep roots, the wicked never seem to grow beyond the status of grass and weeds with shallow roots.
  The Verdict: Sentenced to death for sin.
• Holy Spirit (The Sanctuary). The sanctuary and furnishings were covered in gold. Through this system of knowledge about God, He visibly teaches us about the law and the covenant and the Plan of Salvation. The Spirit Himself, is God's perfect substitute for the Law and the covenant. Ignoring the Spirit is the double sin of rejecting both the law and the covenant. The legal punishment for rejection is specified in the fifth curse because blasphemy against the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven. The false sanctuary and people are rejected. At the end of time the wicked will be bombarded with fire and brimstone. This punishment is from the Holy Spirit.
  Firewood. ... these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone. (Revelation 19: 20)
  The orange rocks of brimstone are thrown at the wicked, spilling their red blood for ignoring the gold of the Holy Spirit. They did not buy gold tried in the fire. So they are crushed to death by the fiery rocks of brimstone.
  Even when people do not have the law, they have their conscience influenced by the Holy Spirit who guides them to a sense of right and wrong. So eventually, all people, those who have the law and those who are without the law are condemned for rejecting the Holy Spirit.
  The Execution Method: Sentenced to death by a fire that destroys.
• Jesus Christ (The Covenant). As the "Prince of the Covenant", He is God's promise of salvation. This covenant is ratified with blood. The legal punishment for breaking the covenant is the curses. Punishing the wicked at the end of time is described as "treading the winepress of wrath". This punishment is from the Son.
  Grapes of Wrath. ... and He treads the winepress of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. (Revelation 19: 15)
  The red blood of the purple grapes are smashed for breaking the blue law.
  The Executioner: Sentenced to death by fire that destroys through a Rock that crushes and burns.

Eternal darkness comes to the wicked from a combination of actions by the Father, Son and Holy Spirit for rejecting God. It is interesting to note that the same attributes of God that brings death to the wicked brings life to the righteous. This proves that God did not set up a system designed to destroy the wicked. It proves that the wicked cannot live in His presence.

• The Father (The Ten Commandments). The righteous delight in the law. The wicked are offended. The Father sends the Son to reconcile us to the law.
• The Son (The Blood of the Covenant). The righteous accept it and are blessed. The wicked reject it and are cursed. The Son sends the Spirit to permanently implement the covenant in our hearts.
• The Holy Spirit (Fire). The righteous can live in the fiery presence of God (Isaiah 33: 14 -17). It destroys the wicked. The Spirit transforms us into new creatures of righteousness who can stand tall in the eternal fire.

God performs the plan of salvation in the order of the colors, and it begins with the sacrifice of Christ for sin and ends with the separation of the righteous and the wicked. All these works of God are occurring in parallel. But the diagram shows the final event or period that completes the physical fulfillment of each color with events that are visible and open and no longer hidden from the human race.

• Red. Christ was crucified for the sins of the world and freed us from death and the curse.
• Orange. The Holy Spirit comes to write the law in our hearts and deliver us from daily bondage to sin.
• Yellow. The fruit of the Holy Spirit grows in the righteous as we become gold.
• Green. The fruit ripens. The people of God are ready and God comes to redeem them.

  The Coat of Many Colors Joseph was a type of Christ. He was the firstborn son of the beloved wife and the favorite son of his father. When they plotted to sell him as a slave, they gave the coat of many colors dipped in the blood of a goat to his father. This action executed a plan to deliver his brothers from death. Christ was the favorite Son of God from His beloved wife Israel. He executed a plan of many colors by giving us a robe of righteousness dipped in His own blood. The white robe of righteousness is the coat of many colors. A gift from our Father in heaven.

• Blue. The wrath of God starts from the plagues to the millennium when the judgment by the righteous begins. It ends with the white throne judgment. The blue part of a flame is the hottest part where there are no impurities. The impurities cause the orange and red colors. In this judgment, the righteous shine blue under the heat of the law.
• Purple. Christ has always lived to make intercession for us (Hebrews 7: 25). But now the wicked see that they cannot defend themselves with their works in the judgment. Any accusations against the righteous are answered by Christ, but He abandons the wicked. Christ comes to get us like a bridegroom and take us to heaven. He leaves the wicked.
• Black. The wicked goats are separated and go to hell fire and darkness where they are destroyed forever.
• White. The righteous sheep are separated and live forever in the eternal light of God.

The Colors In The Breastplate Of The High Priest
The breastplate was worn over the heart. It had twelve different stones which were set in gold, representing each tribe and two stones called the urim and thummim (Exodus 39: 8-14; 28: 30). Information about the exact characteristics of some of the stones is lost but still a pattern emerges when stones are arranged in the order of their camping positions. It shows that the color of the stone is related to the role of each tribe in the final week of Jesus' life.

• Blue Stones. They represent the law and judgment. Jesus came to Jerusalem as Judah, the prince who would keep the law and the covenant. Dan is represented by the Lapis Lazuli, the stone used to make the ten commandments. He would become the symbol of the serpent and law breaker
  Both Dan and Gad represent the period when Jesus was under an unjust trial or judgment.
• Agate (Asher). This is a striped stone of various colors in blues and earth tones. It represents Christ buried.
• Diamond (Naphtali). Christ emerged from the darkness of death in victory because He was judged righteous.
• Purple (Issachar). The priestly role of Christ. He would bend down to bear burdens and pay the wages of sin.
• Ruby Red (Reuben). The Jews caused the death of Christ.
• Gold and Fire (Zebulun and Simeon). The church is represented by colors that symbolize the work of the Holy Spirit.
• Rainbow and Black: Onyx (Joseph). This color seems at odds with the events that represent Joseph and his two sons. But the onyx was also the two stones used to communicate with God (the urim and thummin). Joseph represents the one whose reproach was removed and now has direct communication with God with a double inheritance. The urim means "lights or stars" and the thummim means "perfect ones". The perfect nation will be as lights and stars against the black sky. This shows that the church will be symbolically in the tabernacle of God as they are being persecuted. But they will shine as stars during the darkest era of sin before they actually enter the physical Promised Land. This is also a banded stone having the colors of the rainbow - a symbol of the covenant.
• Green (Benjamin and Levi). He represents the color of the kingdom of God in the new earth. Levi is a nation of priests and emerald is the color of the rainbow above the throne of God.

Additive Primaries: The RGB Colors of the New Earth
As I researched this information, I was confronted with the overwhelming sensation that green was acting like a primary color. Then I remembered that there is another color combination scheme. This is based on the combination of light.
Additive color systems start without light (black) and add light. This was the system used by God at creation. In this, the primary colors are red, blue and green. Yellow is no longer a primary color.
These primary colors are the throne of God.
And He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance. (Revelation 4: 3)
Sardius is a red stone, emerald is green and jasper can be red, blue or green.

1. Blue. The floor and the throne were blue according to Ezekiel and Moses. (Ezekiel 1: 26 and Exodus 24: 10) The foundation of the kingdom is the law.

2. Red. Sardius was the other color of the person sitting on the throne. He is pure mercy in living color.
   Ezekiel had a more detailed description of the glory of God.
   Now above the expanse that was over their heads there was something resembling a throne, like lapis lazuli in appearance; and on that which resembled a throne, high up, was a figure with the appearance of a man. Then I noticed from the appearance of His loins and upward something like glowing metal that looked like fire all around within it, and from the appearance of His loins and downward I saw something like fire; and there was a radiance around Him. As the appearance of the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day so was the appearance of the surrounding radiance. Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. (Ezekiel 1: 26-28)
3. Green. Emerald is the rainbow above the throne and the Man sitting on the throne was like Jasper. This represents the glory of the kingdom. (Revelation 21: 11). Ultimately, it is the righteous who will be the evidence of the glory of God. That is why we are green. For the rest of eternity, we will be living examples of the mercy and power of God to create, to forgive and to transform darkness into light.

If the primary colors are the throne of God, then the secondary colors are the things that come from the throne of God that represent the role of God in the new earth. All the symbols speak about life. God is the source of a wonderful eternal life.
Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. (Revelation 22: 1-2)

There will be no more darkness in the new earth.

In the new earth the primary colors appear to represent the attributes and foundation of the government of God. These are law, mercy or loving kindness and eternal life as children of God.

The secondary colors are harder to determine. But we can guess at what they are by looking at the primary colors that create them. They appear to be related to the benefits we receive from this government of God.

1. Cyan. This is symbolized by the river of life, clear as crystal.
   Cyan is a combination of blue and green. Law and eternal life. Truly the wages of sin is death, but life comes to people who have been separated from sin. At the core of this is righteousness or being law abiding.
2. Yellow. The streets of gold. Yellow is a combination of red and green. Loving kindness and eternal life of the nations. This seems to represent the people and their characters which will be as common as gold on the street.
3. Magenta. The fruits from the tree of life and the colors of the nation of priests of God. It is a combination of red and blue, or loving kindness and righteousness. This color combination appears to come solely from God. Every month God will distribute the fruit from the tree of life to the people. Perhaps He will dispense wisdom. This might represent the education and healing of the nations who are His priests.

The Colors In The Sanctuary.
The color roles of the Trinity can be seen in the afflictions of the righteous described by the arrangement of the 12 tribes around the sanctuary.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. (1 Corinthians 13: 14)

• Most Holy Place (Heaven). This is the status of the saints when God rules the earth with pure love.
  • Red (North Wall). The place of sacrifice, affliction and death by the enemy.
  • Green (West Wall). The home of the blessed children of God living in the house of God.
  • Blue (South Wall). The place of godly affliction and obedience to the law of God.
• Holy Place (Earth in Light). This is the status of the church after the crucifixion when light came to the world in the form of the work of the Holy Spirit who fellowships with us. He is our constant companion as an assurance that God will live with us when heaven consumes the world with love.
  • Yellow (East Wall and Holy Place). While the people wait they enter the Most Holy Place where the Holy Spirit refines their characters.
• Outer Court (Earth in Darkness). This is the status of the church before the crucifixion when there was darkness. In this darkness of sin and condemnation ,Jesus Christ offered grace. This is the mercy and forgiveness and reconciliation of God extended to us because of His great love for us.
  » Erasing the Debt Bondage. Forgiveness is the currency in which the debt of sin is traded and erased. Through forgiveness I lay aside my bitterness and pain to substitute my good will and blessing for your guilt and shame. Therefore, we should not forgive out of self-preservation because God will not forgive us (Matthew 6: 14-15). We should forgive out of love because the repentant sinner needs the burden of his sin lifted by our genuine offer of reconciliation.
  Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. (1 Peter 4: 8)

A Kingdom of Eternal Light.
And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever. (Revelation 22: 5)
And the city had no need of the sun, or of the moon to shine on it; for the glory of God has illumined it, and the Lamb is the light. (Revelation 21: 23)
The new kingdom is based on light and there will be no darkness or night or death. So this must be the color scheme that will be natural to us. Why does green replace yellow as a primary color?
At that point, we will already have perfect characters. Behavior is no longer an issue. On earth, this work of the Holy Spirit was a very important life time task. It was of primary importance. In the new earth, this will be as natural to us as breathing. Even the streets are made of gold. This is how common gold will be. This is how common righteousness will be.
The color green was not in the sanctuary, it was in the feasts. The kingdom of God was not natural to us on earth. God could only show us glimpses of it in the feast of tabernacles. During the time it operated on earth, the kingdom of God has only been a marvelous promise, not a reality. The sanctuary is the promise. The feasts are the reality.
Now, in the new earth, green takes its rightful place as one of the primary colors because God Himself comes to physically live with us. The emerald and blue throne of God will be moved to the earth. It is all about living in the kingdom of God.

True Colors In the end, God demonstrates the true colors of the wicked by showing their primary colors. » Lawless. The last generation is unwilling to even obey a commandment that simply asks them to rest. » Rebellious. They obey Satan, but not God. » Murderers. The wicked will attack a peaceful, unarmed city which has its gates open in a gesture of invitation.

The Duty Of Man.
The Golden Man. He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6: 8)

Jesus mentions the same three characteristics.
The Perfect Man. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others. (Matthew 23: 23)
This sums up the requirement to accept the primary colors:

• Blue (Justice). This is our response to others keeping the Law. Do justly by making sound judgment.
• Red (Mercy). This is our response to those who break the law. Love mercy or loving kindness and forgiveness.
• Yellow (Walk Humbly With God). This is our personal response to God. What does this mean?
  This means humbling ourselves and submitting to God. It is surrendering in total faith and trust, waiting for God.
  Wait. Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment and wait on thy God continually. (Hosea 12: 6)
  Wait. And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the Lord is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him. (Isaiah 30: 18)
  
  » The Faithful Walk With God.
  • Adam And Eve. They could not walk with God because they were guilty and ashamed by their sin.
    Hiding In Shame. And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. (Genesis 3: 8)
  • Enoch. Those who walk with God will be raptured.
    Taken To Live With God. And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. (Genesis 5:24)
  • Noah. He received mercy from God because He was just, perfect (law abiding) and he walked with God.
    Mercy (Grace). But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. (Genesis 6: 8-9)
  • Abraham. Walking with God implied perfection.
    . And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. (Genesis 17: 1)
  • Israel. All the texts consistently support the fact that walking with God involves keeping His laws and loving Him with all our heart.
    Required. And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, To keep the commandments of the Lord, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good? (Deuteronomy 10: 12-13)
    » Life. Walking with God means life.
    Live. Ye shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess. (Deuteronomy 5: 33)
  
  » Faith Is Patient Humility. Speaking of the endurance of the church during the final persecution, John links the concepts of faith and waiting patiently for those who are being shown neither mercy nor justice.
  In this final test they are walking with God.
  Patient, Law Abiding And Faithful. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. (Revelation 14: 12)
  Patience And Faith. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. (Revelation 13: 10)
  Righteousness By Faith. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. (Galatians 3: 11)
  If you had to chose one attribute that sums up a child of God it is faith. The commandments are relevant, but people can keep the law for various reasons and still hate God. However, faith is superior because it signals one who is lovingly devoted to God. This attitude already implies being perfect and law-abiding.
  Therefore, only patiently walking with God (faith) can justify a person.

So, what color is God? He is the perfect combination of all colors.
