All other end time prophecies in the Old and New Testament that are not in the book of Daniel and Revelation are discussed here and in the lesson on the Old Testament Prophecies. These are prophecies by Jesus and His disciples about the natural, social and spiritual conditions at the end of time.

Failed Prophecy? In particular, we will deal with two prophecies by Jesus himself that seem to have failed.

1. This generation shall not pass till all be fulfilled. Who is this generation?
2. A promise in Mark 9 that some of the disciples would see the kingdom come in power before they died.

Matthew 24: The Prophecies Of Jesus Christ

This Generation
Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. (Matthew 24: 34)
This prophecy is repeated in Mark 13 and in Luke 21.
It is clear by now that Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 A.D. by the Roman General Titus. And, it is clear that Jesus has not come 2000 years later and none of the generation that witnessed the destruction of Jerusalem is still alive.

Did a prophecy by Jesus, Himself, fail?

There are other interpretations that place this prophecy at one generation (40 years) from the rebirth of Israel in the early 1900's but that point in history has passed. Others may pin their hopes on 70 years from this date. Seventy years is the length of life allowed to a man.
As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, or if due to strength, eighty years. Yet their pride is but labor and sorrow; for soon it is gone and we fly away. (Psalm 90: 10)

Before the disciples had asked the question, they had just left the temple and Jesus pointed to the temple and said:
Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down. (Matthew 24: 2)

The key to understanding the mystery of this prophecy is to realize that three questions were asked and three answers given in Matthew 24: 3.

1. Temple Destruction. When shall these things be?
2. Second Coming . What shall be the Sign of your coming?
3. End Of The Age. What is the final sign of the end of the age?

1. These Things (The Fall Of Jerusalem)
The phrase "these things" refers to the destruction of the temple and the fall of Jerusalem.

Luke 21: 20 plainly states that when Jerusalem is surrounded by armies its destruction was near. Josephus records that the Christians were saved because they escaped the city before the siege.
So, in conclusion, the problem with the phrase is that the Second Coming has not occurred. So "this generation" could refer to the following.

• The Current People. The people who were alive at that time.
• The Transfiguration. This event was a fulfillment of the events of the Second Coming.
• This Race. The word that is translated "generation" is sometimes translated as "race". This means that the Jews will exist until the Second Coming.
• These Things. He was teaching that the current generation would only see the events described as "these things" or the destruction of Jerusalem. The Second Coming was not included.
• The Destruction of Jerusalem. Any generation that sees the destruction of Jerusalem will see the Second Coming. This occurred for that generation with the transfiguration. At the Second Coming, the final generation will see Jerusalem besieged and destroyed.

The Abomination Of Desolation
The abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel (9: 27) was connected to the events of the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple by Titus in 70 A.D. Many Christians saw the approaching armies and fled the city before the siege and destruction.

However, prophecy seems to indicate that there were several abominations which would lead to desolation of the land. First, an abomination is an idol or pagan practice or object of worship that is in God's house. It is a time of great national apostasy.

The abomination would trigger the final covenant curse that caused the desolation of the land. While in this state of desolation, the land could keep its Sabbaths. 2 Chronicles 36: 14
There are at least three abominations that lead to desolation.

2. The Signs Of The Second Coming
The second part of the question related to the signs of His Second Coming.

• False Christs and False Prophets. There are many charismatic personalities who have led believers to follow them. Sadly, some of these have resulted in death through mass suicide and murder. The killing of over 600 at Jonestown by Reverend Jim Jones. The mass suicide of the members of the Heaven's Gate temple. And the needless deaths of many people in Texas when they refused to surrender their leader David Koresh. There are many more with a strong following who also claim to be Christ on earth.
• Great Persecution. The church suffered persecution under the hands of the Roman government and then from the state supported church. Through the inquisition and the crusades approximately 200 million were killed for the faith by people of the faith.
• Nations at War. We had two World Wars between 1917 and 1942 alone. Millions were killed. Hitler tried to wipe out the Jewish nation. 6 million Jews were murdered. War is a constant somewhere around the globe. Nations still harbor centuries old grudges.
• Lawlessness. Unbelievable crimes are being done by the most unlikely criminals. Children as young as eight are gang raping other children. Two children tortured and murdered a 5 year old in Britain.
  In the sixties, people could leave their homes unlocked. In many neighborhoods, the same key fit all doors. That is no more. Now we live behind gated communities with guards. We have alarm systems and alarm companies monitoring the safety of our property 24 hours per day. Many people carry guns for protection. It is no longer safe.
• Earthquakes and Famines. Because the world population is increasing, many natural disasters like earthquakes have become more costly and more deadly. In China alone millions were killed in one earthquake. The great Lisbon earthquake of 1755 affected one third of the globe. This earthquake occurred around the time of the decline of the "Little Horn" power.
  
  The Irish potato famine almost wiped out that population and Africa is constantly plagued by drought and famine. In the 1980's the famine in Biafra stirred us. In these days, it is not just drought alone that causes famines, but wars have led to famine and starvation.

• Signs in the Heavens. In 1833 a major meteor shower occurred. There has never been another storm of this intensity. It jump started the field of astronomy and a great interest in the Second Coming. In May 19, 1780, a mysterious dark day occurred over New England. That night the moon became blood red.
  There has been no explanation for this strange phenomenon.
• The Sign of the Son of man. In Matthew 24:30, this sign could be interpreted as part of the events that occur on the day Jesus comes. However, in looking at the time span between prophecies that are written in one short sentence, it is not unreasonable to assume that it could be a separate event prior to the Second Coming.
  
  "And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." (Matthew 24: 30)

  If it is a separate event, then it is my opinion that it is connected to the seven last plagues and that it could be the event that leads to the fifth plague. It is after the fourth plague that the alliance of the antichrist rapidly loses support. In the fifth plague there is darkness and confusion at the headquarters of the beast. In the sixth plague the alliance falls apart in a violent reaction.
  
  One Adventist prediction is that during the plagues the law of God will appear in the sky with the Sabbath commandment highlighted. The Bible does say that the Sabbath is to be a sign between God and His people. After that point people will realize that they were in error when they deliberately ignored and changed God's laws.
  
  It is equally interesting to note that the Catholic visions of Blessed Faustina teaches that Christ will come as a "King of Mercy" before the Second Coming to convince the world to obey the religious teachings of the Catholic church. This appearance will be accompanied by a cross in the Sky, visible to the whole world.
  Equally significant, is the Adventist prediction made years before the vision of Blessed Faustina that there will be a false coming of Christ engineered by Satan to convince the world to listen to the Catholic Church.

Mark 13 And Luke 21
The prophecies are repeated in two other books. But two other topics are addressed.

Self Defense
During this final persecution, we are not to do anything extraordinary to defend ourselves. God will put in our minds what we should say. Now, this depends on our faithfulness in Bible study. God will bring to mind what we have read and add the wisdom to link it to other concepts. I wrote this page in early 2001. By year 2003 I began to experience this gift of God. It works! God will dump knowledge and concepts into your head in a second.
"When they arrest you and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour; for it is not you who speak, but it is the Holy Spirit. (Mark 13: 11)
Luke even suggests that you should see all arrests as an opportunity to witness for God. So rejoice, do not resist.
"But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for My name's sake. "It will lead to an opportunity for your testimony. "So make up your minds not to prepare beforehand to defend yourselves; for I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute. (Luke 21: 12-15)

Fear Of An Approaching Astronomical Event
men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. (Luke 21: 26)

This fearful event might lead to the world turning to a religious leader because the approaching problem cannot be solved with our technology.

The Planet Killer. One likely event will be a planet killer asteroid that is approaching within a year. Such an event would describe the psychological condition of the world in the text above.

As late as last year I was still speculating about what kind of event would cause the world to quickly come together for a religious reason.

Possible Global Crisis

A week after September 11, I was skeptical about the ability of people to focus on God. I thought that they will essentially forget in a month and focus on science, technology and military strength. I was right. I speculated that maybe Osama Bin Laden might sustain a campaign of small weekly random attacks in our subways and public sporting events and schools. But he proved to be impotent. Besides, this response would be met with joy in the Arab world and would not cause the global fear envisioned in the prophecy.

So I wondered if a series of natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, volcanoes) on a global scale every month might do this - it might.

I had forgotten about asteroids until news of asteroid 2002NT7 came just as I was finishing a section on unfulfilled prophecy. This section included the "major crisis" to come. Even if this asteroid would not miss, 19 years would probably give us time to indulge in optimism and get rid of the threat, or at least make us hope that we can solve it. But an imminent threat within less than three years for which we cannot prepare would get global attention.
This event might not be an asteroid, but an asteroid certainly fits the prophecy. It would cause everything that we expect psychologically and globally.

• 1.5 mile asteroid would destroy an area 300 miles wide. This is the distance between New York and Washington D.C.
• A ten mile asteroid would destroy the planet.

Other Social Signs
"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God." (2 Timothy 3:1-4)

Mockers
2 Peter 3: 3-9 says that in the last days mockers will come saying "where is He? Nothing has changed since the beginning". The Bible says that they are willingly ignorant of these things:

• The Creator. (verse 5) They reject the creator in favor of evolution, when there is more than enough evidence for creation.
• The Flood. (verse 6) They reject the story of the flood
• The Judgment. (verse 7) they either reject the fact that the world will be judged, or they claim that if God exists He will not punish the wicked.

Social Behavior
Romans 1: 18-32 and the book of Jude describes a long list of behaviors that will not only occur but be acceptable. Homosexuality, wickedness, greed, evil, envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice, gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, unloving, unmerciful and untrustworthy. These are the characteristics of the final generation.

Galatians also says that ... the deeds of the flesh are immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissentions, factions, envying, drunkenness and carousing. (Galatians 5: 19-22)

One look at the menu Hollywood and all the entertainment business serves, one gets the picture that being good is a thing to be avoided, but being evil and controversial are the norm. They are peddlers of the deeds of the flesh. They are at enmity with God.

Entertainers crave controversial roles that will boost their careers. One actress recently declared that she was tired of the burden of being a role model for little girls. It was ruining her career. Everyone praised her for this bold move and her new "raw" performances.

Britney Spears was promoted as the role model for little girls - even with her half naked costumes. Look at her now. Now a prominent manufacturer is marketing thongs for 7 year old girls with phrases such as "eye candy". Do you see a problem?

Previous generations had Madonna, who produced a coffee table book with sexual poses with anything that breathed. The lyrics of her songs promoted everything vile and violent. She refuses to let her children watch television. Do you see a problem?

The television industry hates God, but they love homosexuality, infidelity, multiple partners, witchcraft and humanism. If you declare yourself to be God then you are enlightened. If you do not, then you are ignorant and narrow minded. Some of the topics the entertainment industry is trying to introduce is just too much to even mention here. Sooner or later, exploring your sexual options may not be as tame as visiting the Mustang Ranch in Nevada. We are headed towards the ultimate moral depravity of the dragon and Hollywood is leading us there in a flurry of awards and limousines and fancy beaded dresses.

Let us look at each charge given by God and see how the society and Hollywood views them.

1. Haters of God. God is not popular. At least not the Christian or Jewish God. But if He would change His rules a lot or at least allow us to decide what is best then He would be worth our attention. Christian values of morality, purity, chastity are tossed out the window - even in our own churches. Even Christians deny the power of God to keep them pure. I have heard it many times. The truth of what we are and how we are supposed to feel is more believed when science declares it. Because science tells us what our bodies want to hear. But God tells us something more. What we think or can perceive is less than second best.
2. Greed, envy, deceit, malice. Possibly due to the Darwinian philosophy of the survival of the fittest, our financial and business values seem to be centered around being the richest, the fastest at whatever cost. One's success at achieving this goal is all that qualifies him or her to be among the envied powerful. The ruin left behind and ruin being currently perpetrated are of no consequence. Greed is good. We exhibit this need to be ahead of everybody in all facets of life. It is fondly called taking your opportunity, being one step ahead. Everything is about being number one. Being the ruler. Giving the orders. These are valued.
   
   But God values giving, service and sacrifice.
3. Gossip, Slanderers. The news industry has already cloaked itself as a respectable scandal industry. What is valued is gore and controversy because it is supposedly what the public wants and what advertisers will pay for. Gossip columnists and intrusion into other people's private affairs are rigorously supported as a moral right. God forbid that they would defend the right of creationists to tell God's side of our story.
4. Homosexuality. You cannot turn the television knob without seeing someone who is not trying to be trendy. And being homosexual is trendy. We have almost surpassed the people of Sodom and Gomorrah.    Author Steve Warren told Christians what gays expect of them. In The Advocate, the nation's largest and most mainstream homosexual publication, he says: "Here are some of the things you will be expected to affirm. ...

   • Henceforth, homosexuality will be spoken of in your churches and synagogues as an 'honorable estate.'
   • You can either let us marry people of the same sex, or better yet abolish marriage altogether. ...
   • You will be expected to offer ceremonies that bless our sexual arrangements. ... You will also instruct your people in homosexual as well as heterosexual behavior, and you will go out of your way to make certain that homosexual youths are allowed to date, attend religious functions together, openly display affection, and enjoy each other's sexuality without embarrassment or guilt.
   • If any of the older people in your midst object, you will deal with them sternly, making certain they renounce their ugly and ignorant homophobia or suffer public humiliation.
   • You will also make certain that ... laws are passed forbidding discrimination against homosexuals and heavy punishments are assessed. ...
   • Finally, we will in all likelihood want to expunge a number of passages from your Scriptures and rewrite others, eliminating preferential treatment of marriage and using words that will allow for homosexual interpretations of passages describing biblical lovers such as Ruth and Boaz or Solomon and the Queen of Sheba.

   Warning: If all these things do not come to pass quickly, we will subject Orthodox Jews and Christians to the most sustained hatred and vilification in recent memory. We have captured the liberal establishment and the press. We have already beaten you on a number of battlefields. ... You have neither the faith nor the strength to fight us, so you might as well surrender now."

5. Bestiality and Other Sexual Perversions. I hesitate to put this in. This is my fifth editing of this section and I am alarmed at this trend. It is following the same strategy that was used to popularize homosexuality, fornication, adultery and abortion. I mentioned the trend because of the constant repetition of this theme on the Television show Saturday Night Live. But, I am seeing more introduction of this on other extremely popular prime time Television. While other extreme perversions are explored as the crime to be solved, bestiality is being slowly introduced in short phrases and in 2 second snapshots of pornographic pictures. It reminds me of the steps taken in our indoctrination into homosexuality by Hollywood. This is frightening. These are the most popular shows.
6. Insolent, arrogant, boastful. These are seen as confidence and strength, traits worthy to obtain. Our competitive sports mentality fits these traits.
7. Disobedient to parents. The popular cartoon show called The Simpsons glorifies disobedience to God and parents.
8. Murder, strife, evil. We are constantly trying to be number one and to drag our children along. As a result, innocent child's play have become settings for quarreling and murder. Abortion is the best way out of an unexpected pregnancy. The little one will ruin our future - so we give them no future. Serial killing, especially in North America has become a new sort of crime unique to our times. Pedophiles can openly organize and charter airplanes and go on vacations to engage in their favorite activity - with the welcome of the host country. Pornographic sites target our children on the Internet. They also target religion in particular. I never came across one of these sites until I started research on religious words. Even pressing the button on their initial screen that says "No, I do not want to go any further" got me further in. Evil.
   
   The false argument is made that prostitutes and magazines and movies and these web sites provide a service and keep the deviants away from the innocent. But statistics should show that we are in more danger because more people are exposed to this behavior and want to try it "at least one time". So, we have developed new types of crimes (serial killing), more social problems (divorce, abortions, teenage pregnancy, venereal diseases, drugs and immorality) at younger ages all because of the business of immorality. It is pure evil.
9. Lovers of money. Just mention Enron and all the other corporate geniuses who lined their pockets, threatened countries to buy their overpriced services, bribed politicians, raided retirement funds, held the funds of their stock holders and employees hostage while they quietly bailed out, changed rules so that people could not save their limited funds and lied - all for the sake of more money.
   
   Look at the conveniently blind eyes of stockholders and investors who refuse to see the slave wages that are behind the huge corporate profits - all for the sake of more money.

Punishment Of The Rich
Come now you rich, weep and howl for the miseries which are coming upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments have been eaten by moths. Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure!
Look, the pay of the laborers who mowed your fields which you withheld, cries out against you; and the cries of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.
You have lived luxuriously on the earth and led a life of wanton pleasure; you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. You have condemned and put to death the righteous; he does not resist you. (James 5: 1-6)
James declares that the rich have hoarded wealth at the expense of, and through open theft from the poor. It is estimated that 2% of the population holds 80% of the wealth of the world. In our skewed sense of what is right we assume that this is right if everyone is given an equal chance. Or we assume it is acceptable because "we are giving them jobs".
Well, that equality will not occur. People pay the cheapest wages and expect you to be grateful or they will export another batch of desperate souls to do the same dirty work. This happens while the profits from your labor, and their sacred investments go to support lifestyles that are grossly out of proportion with those of the workers. No wonder many of them are on drugs and are self destructive. They have too much money.

It is wrong. In some places slavery has returned as organized criminals and legitimate stockholders try to maximize profits and turn their eyes away from the truth. They do not ask how so much goods can be produced at so cheap a cost. They throw around business concepts such as "volume discounts", "automation" and "cheap labor" as if that alone can account for the extremely low prices.

It is wrong. God has heard them and He has written it down. He is being merciful to the rich as He waits. It is wrong for you to invest in these companies - to not ask questions.

Your money is rotten and corrupt. God condemns such one-sided accumulation of wealth.

The Sign Of The End
The final sign of the end is the preaching of the Gospel to the world. Christ clearly said that "wars and earthquakes" are not the final sign. The signs of the Second Coming point to a span of time after Christ formally takes action to claim the world. These occurred in 1844 after the papacy had fallen in 1798. This event heralded the time of the end.

But the sign of the end is the final message preached to the world. It is the message of the Three Angels.
Currently we are reaching nearly the whole world by radio. The current difficulties we face are the secularism in the free world and the difficulties of spreading the gospel in the 10/40 window where the largest population of non-Christians reside. But great missionary efforts are being made.

Gospel To The World
Jesus said in verse 6 that all these things must take place but the end is not yet. Therefore, when people panic about the end of the world every time there is a global conflict, the Bible clearly indicates that this is not a sign of the end.

What is a clear sign of the end is the spread of the gospel to all nations. When this is done - then the end will come.
As of 2000 it is estimated that 99% is being reached by radio. Are they listening? About 75%-85% have heard the gospel. Christian missionaries from all denominations are dedicated to having 100% penetration by 2001.

With the proliferation of television and closer global connection, it is very possible that in a single night, with the right event, the world will be forced to face the truth. We have the technology and we have the Holy Spirit.

Other Prophecies
The New Testament also discusses these prophecies.

• Resurrection and Rapture. The righteous dead and living are given eternal life (1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18).
• Antichrists. The appearance of false Christs and the Antichrist (1 Thessalonians 2: 1-12).
• Revelation. The complete prophecies from Jesus to the new earth.

Mark 9: The Transfiguration Of Jesus Christ
And Jesus was saying to them, Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power. (Mark 9: 1)

In many places Jesus clearly states that the Kingdom of God was already here because He was here. He used phrases such as the kingdom of God "in you" and "among you". Why?
He is the King of this kingdom. And wherever the King is, His kingdom is also there.

Mark 9 And Jesus was saying to them, Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power. The White Robes. Six days later Jesus took with Him Peter and James and John, and brought them up on a high mountain by themselves. And He was transfigured before them. and His garments became radiant and exceedingly white, as no launderer on earth can whiten them. The Resurrected. Elijah appeared to them along with Moses; and they were talking with Jesus. Peter said to Jesus, "Rabbi, is it good for us to be here; let us make three tabernacles, one for You, one for Moses and one for Elijah". For he did not know what to answer; for they became terrified. God in the Cloud. Then a cloud formed, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, "This is My beloved Son, listen to Him" All at once they looked around and saw no one with them anymore, except Jesus alone. (Mark 9: 1-8)

However, in this prophecy, he uses one additional description - the kingdom of God with power. We expect that when the kingdom of God comes with power, it would be at the Second Coming and the following events will occur:

1. The righteous dead will be raised and their bodies will be changed.
2. The righteous living will be changed - receiving new bodies.
3. All the saints will receive white robes.
4. They will be taken into the clouds to meet God in the air.

What does this mean? The disciples have all died and the Second Coming has not occurred. Did Jesus lie?

Six days later the prophecy was fulfilled. Before their eyes, three of the disciples saw a small representation of the events of the Second Coming.

1. Jesus transfigured. Just like the righteous, Jesus had a new, glorious body.
2. Moses. He represented the righteous dead who will be raised to life at the Second Coming.
3. Elijah. He represented the righteous living, those who will be taken to heaven without seeing death.
4. Cloud. God was in the cloud just as He will be in the Second Coming.
5. Pentecost. Eleven disciples saw the kingdom come in power.

No Failure Of Prophecy
So we see that the two prophecies that seemed to fail did not.
The disciples saw a miniature representation of the Second coming within a week after the prophecy was made.

Some of the disciples experienced the destruction of Jerusalem before they died. They would live to see these things - the destruction of the city and the temple but not the signs of the Second Coming.

The Parables Of Jesus
The mystery of the kingdom of God is hidden in the parables.
Mystery. And He was saying to them, "To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God, but those who are outside get everything in parables." (Mark 4: 11)
A parable is a story with a spiritual truth. The parables of Jesus are generally about the kingdom of God. Their symbols are also taken from prophecy and the sanctuary and feast system.

Christ did many mighty works that appear to be based on what He would accomplish with the crucifixion.

• The Gospel of John. He only lists a few miracles. These seem to be in order of the crucifixion events.
  • Water to Wine. Turns sweat to blood in the Garden of Gethsemane.
  • Nobleman's Son Cured of Fever from a Distance. Jesus was the Son of the nobleman (God) who lives a far distance. He was treated as diseased at the crucifixion where He became the burnt offering.
  • Lame Man at Bethesda (House of Mercy). Jesus was the lame Man carrying the cross, falling and eventually nailed to the cross.
  • Feed 5000 (12 Basket of Crumbs). He was the bread of life who was about to be eaten by the twelve tribes. Israel became the twelve baskets of leftovers whom the disciples must search for and gather up.
  • Walks on Water. On the cross, He was lifted above the raging sea of humanity who demanded His death. He could look down at them beneath His feet.
  • Passed Through a Murderous Crowd. He was surrounded by a mob on the road to Golgotha.
  • Spit on the Clay Cures Blind Man. Jesus was the Son of Man, made of clay who was spit on. While on the cross, God blinded Himself so that He could pass over us in the darkness and complete the cure for sin.
  • Lazarus Resurrected After 4 Days. Jesus was in the bowels for 3.5 days and raised on the fourth day.
  • Catches 153 Fish. This is a symbol of their mission. On the right side of the boat there are still fish to be caught. The disciples ministered to the Jews for another 3.5 years before the Gospel went to the Gentiles.
• Casting Out Satan. Christ took back dominion from Satan.
• Conquer the Sea. He calmed the raging sea and trampled it down. The sea is a symbol of death and the wicked.
• Women. He would cleanse the unclean woman with an issue of blood. The church is the woman in the process of childbirth and He was the child born to the woman and circumcised (crucified).
  » Lepers. He would cure us from the disease of sin by becoming like a despised leper. The healing of the ten lepers seems to be a type of a prophecy that would be fulfilled in His final week. Only one returned to thank Him and He was the only foreigner, a Samaritan.
  » The Twelve Tribes. Nine of the ten sons were prophesied as being responsible for treating Him as a leper. The tenth son was Joseph, who would become the type of the Messiah for eternity. Joseph was also the son whose two half Egyptian sons became part of the inheritance of the tribes. This foretold of the Gentile inheritance. One arranged for His death (The Priests of Levi). One was too young to be responsible (Benjamin).
• Cure Deaf, Blind, Dumb and Lame. He would open the eyes of the Gentiles to God.
  Israel. He will cure the blindness of Israel in a two step process.
• Gospel to Israel. He sent the disciples as fishermen from the house of God to feed Israel. In the end He had to reject them because they did not respond to the teaching.
• Raise the Dead. He would become the resurrection.
• Exodus. In His final week Jesus made His exodus from slavery to the Promised Land of heaven.
  
  The Miracle Of Salvation
  He fulfilled all the prophecies, prophetic dreams and the ten plagues of Egypt which were miracles.
  • Rod Becomes A Snake. Judas and the priests executed their plans to have Him arrested. At this point they were trying to convince the Romans to come and arrest Him.
    He was the Branch, the Vine who would be seen as a serpent lifted up to cure the people. From the moment they sought to take His life and the people did not resist or defend Him, He had become a snake, a wicked Man, in their eyes.
  • Water Became Blood. His sweat became blood in the Garden of Gethsemane.
  • Frogs from the Nile. The mob of priests and soldiers came to arrest Him.
    This is even a picture of the disciples scattering and running away from Him.
  • Gnats. This miracle could not be copied by the magicians and served as a warning that these actions are the Finger of God. These are the trials and array of false witnesses. After this point, the Romans were completely in charge. During the trial, Pilate's wife warned him about the dream she had that this was the Son of God.
  • Sores. He was punched and slapped with fists causing black and blue wounds.
  • Boils. He was beaten severely with a rod and flagellum causing striped wounds. He was nailed.
  • Thunder, Rain, Hail. The shouts of the crowd, the spit raining on Him as they mocked Him.
  • Locusts. The army of at least 400 Roman soldiers.
  • Darkness. There was darkness for three hours from noon to 3:00 PM.
  • Firstborn Son Dead. Jesus, the first born and only Son of God was crucified.

  Miracle
  The provisions of the first three plagues are what God provided to atone for our sins.
  The provisions of the seven last plagues are what Satan demands to punish us. Using mob justice he will try to humiliate, torture and kill us. God will save us from Satan's malice, but the wicked will feel his wrath.
  • First Three Plagues. These fell on all people, including Israel. He paid this penalty for all.
    1. Blood (River of Life). Christ gave His blood as an atonement for sin.
    2. Frogs. Christ chased away the unclean spirits. They no longer have dominion in the earth.
       And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. (Revelation 16: 13)
       At the end of time, these unclean spirits that Jesus had cast out will find a home among the leadership of the world and the church.
    3. Gnats From the Earth. He and the Holy Spirit became the two righteous witnesses that God sent for our trial. He came to live on earth as a man for 33 years. Then the Holy Spirit came to live with man on earth at Pentecost.
  • Seven Last Plagues. He suffered the penalty of the curses for the righteous in the seven last plagues.
  
  Copied By The Magicians
  The first three events were copied by the magicians. The Romans and the priests became like Pharaoh and the magicians.
  1. Snake (Wicked Man). Jesus fulfilled several signs that pointed to the wicked being punished. He is seen as a snake that was lifted up and as a goat. Others symbolically became the snake and the scape goat.
     • Judas (Snake). He was the wicked disciple who betrayed his Master and died hung up on a tree.
     • Barabbas (Scapegoat). The people chose him and killed Jesus as the Lord's goat.
  2. Blood. The Roman beating and sword caused blood and water to pour out of His side. But God had already accepted the offering of blood in the garden, not through torture and slow death. Judas also had his blood and insides spilled out in the garbage dump.
  3. Frogs. The scattering of the unclean spirits to the earth.
     • Dragon (Satan). In the unseen world, the horde of demons must have been let loose. This shedding of His blood to atone for our sins had wrested dominion from Satan and cast them to the earth. Satan fell like lightning from heaven in utter disgrace in the eyes of all those in heaven.
     • Beast (Rome). Roman soldiers arrested Jesus and dragged Him from one place to another for several trials.
     • False Prophet (Judas and the Priests). After Judas realized that he had spilled innocent blood, he scattered the bribe money on the floor of the temple when the priests refused to stop their plans.
     This group caused the righteous witnesses for Christ to scatter, leaving them to perpetrate an injustice.

The Miracles Of The Last Days
Greater works will be done at the end of time by a church who must accomplish many things in a short period of time.
Truly, truly I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do because I go to the Father. (John 14: 12)
The miracles of the greater works must be related to the tasks that must be accomplished.

• Casting out the Antichrist. Satan returns with all the forces of evil to gather one final army. We must confront the Antichrist and his idolatry in the same way that Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal at Mount Carmel. In the process we will turn the hearts of the world back to God. However, we cannot use the sign of bringing fire from heaven as proof of God, because the Antichrist will be able to duplicate that miracle just as the magicians of Egypt duplicated the miracle of the rod turning into a snake. (Revelation 13: 13 and Exodus 7: 8-12)
  The greater works might include shaking the powers of heaven.
  » God-Men. In ancient times, rulers like Pharaoh and Caesar were also worshipped as God. Until the French Revolution in the 1790's and the end of monarchies in 1918, such ideas still existed in the idea of "the divine right to rule". Today, the general population is more likely to see themselves as gods who are a law accountable to themselves.
  God sent His Son in the form of a man and Caesar and the population murdered Him. We were not really looking for a God Who understands us, we were looking for permission to be the sole masters of our own actions with no accountability to any external force.
  In the last days, a god-man will sit in the temple of God again and the modern world, even today's demi-gods, will worship him.
• Conquer the Sea. We will walk on the Sea of Glass after we conquer the wicked.
• The Blind Church of Laodicea. God will open the eyes of the blind and naked church.
• Gospel to the World. The gift of tongues which was given to the disciples after the resurrection.
• Recreation and Resurrection. God will recreate us. The greater works must include creative miracles. It is possible to recreate many of the works of Genesis and demonstrate that the rest are possible.
• Exodus. We will be part of a final exodus like Moses. As Moses confronted Pharaoh with miracles, we must confront the Antichrist and his forces in a contest that is a battle between gods. Which god is stronger?
  • Magicians. Our ministry must address the deceptions of Satan, especially involving his speaking through the dead.
  • Scientists. Our miracles must strike at the theory of evolution.
  • Advisors of the King. Our ministry must point people to God as King and away from the corruption and power struggles that are common to our political and economic systems.
  • Demonic Forces. Our ministry must beat back Satan and take possession of his strong holds.
  • False Priests. Our miracles must establish the Bible as a book of facts, not fables and lessons. We may demonstrate all the great miracles of the Bible including the parting of the Red Sea.
    And the Lord shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with His mighty wind shall shake His hand over the river, and shall smite it in seven streams, and make men go over dryshod. (Isaiah 11: 15)
    Ask ye of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain; so the Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field. And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away. (Zechariah 10: 1,11)
    According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous things. The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf. They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be afraid of the Lord our God, and shall fear because of thee. (Micah 7: 15-17)
  • Secular-Immoral. By lifting up God's standards and making a sound case for God, we will force an immoral generation to consider their ways. Choose! You will be accountable to God.
