We have several lessons that explain how the wrath of God fell on Christ.
Without repeating all of those arguments, we can offer another perspective on what happened at the crucifixion according to the laws of Deuteronomy 28.
Because He volunteered to pay the price of our sins, He must suffer all the curses in this law for this purpose.
Christ Removed the Curses.
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross.
(Colossians 2: 14)
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us ...
(Galatians 3: 13)
- Curses On The Wicked. In this lesson we concentrate on Deuteronomy 28 to show how Christ fulfilled these laws in detail.
Nailed to the Cross.
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days:
Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
(Colossians 2: 16-17)
Because the horrible details of the curse were actually imposed by Satan, we will show how Christ suffered them for us so that Satan cannot require this punishment from us.
- The Curses. In this lesson we trace the origin of the curses to Eden (on the Serpent, Adam and Eve) and show how Leviticus 26 was applied throughout history.
- Jesus Suffers The Seven Last Plagues. In this lesson we show how His punishment also followed the pattern of a defiled temple doomed for destruction. Here we mainly used Leviticus 26 and many other laws to show how He was punished according to the seven last plagues as a substutute for the punishment of the righteous.
- The Wicked Suffer The Seven Last Plagues. The wicked suffer the seven last plagues.
Mount Sinai: The Terms Of The Curse For The First Generation
Leviticus 26: 14-46 outlines the broad scope of the curse and all warnings, showing how God keeps all covenants during the curse.
It was part of the law given on Mount Sinai to the first generation and is based on the curses given in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3).
- The First Curse: Terror and Rule by the Enemy.
We will be driven by the threats of our enemies.
But if you do not obey Me and do not carry out all these commandments,
if, instead, you reject My statutes, and if your soul abhors My ordinances so as not to carry out all My commandments, and so break My covenant,
I, in turn, will do this to you: I will appoint over you a sudden terror, consumption and fever that will waste away the eyes and cause the soul to pine away; also, you will sow your seed uselessly, for your enemies will eat it up.
I will set My face against you so that you will be struck down before your enemies; and those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee when no one is pursuing you.
(Leviticus 26: 14-17)
- The Second Curse: Drought, Exhaustion, Crop Failure and Economic Disaster.
Drought, famine and economic catastrophe. This disaster will occur for seven times.
If also after these things you do not obey Me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.
I will also break down your pride of power; I will also make your sky like iron and your earth like bronze.
Your strength will be spent uselessly, for your land will not yield its produce and the trees of the land will not yield their fruit.
(Leviticus 26: 18-20)
- The Third Curse: Plague and Wild Beasts Cause Loss of Population.
This curse of the wild beasts has been fulfilled by the invasion of other nations.
All these curses result in a reduction of population, particularly the loss of children.
If then, you act with hostility against Me and are unwilling to obey Me, I will increase the plague on you seven times according to your sins.
I will let loose among you the beasts of the field, which will bereave you of your children and destroy your cattle and reduce your number so that your roads lie deserted.
(Leviticus 26: 21-22)
- The Fourth Curse: War, Siege, Plague and Famine.
The start of a religious judgment. This curse is particularly hard on the cities and it is imposed for vengeance on the covenant.
And if by these things you are not turned to Me, but act with hostility against Me,
then I will act with hostility against you; and I, even I, will strike you seven times for your sins.
I will also bring upon you a sword which will execute vengeance for the covenant; and when you gather together into your cities, I will send pestilence among you, so that you shall be delivered into enemy hands.
When I break your staff of bread, ten women will bake your bread in one oven, and they will bring back your bread in rationed amounts, so that you will eat and not be satisfied.
(Leviticus 26: 23-26)
- The Fifth Curse: Total Destruction and Exile.
The final curse brings all the punishment of the previous curses in addition to other punishments which target the objects of your disobedience.
It also brings some justice to the righteous oppressed.
The Fifth Curse: The Wrath of God
The final curse is the most dreadful for those who refuse to be obedient. God returns their hostility seven times over.
This is the basis for the seven last plagues.
Yet if in spite of this you do not obey Me, but act with hostility against Me,
then I will act with wrathful hostility against you, and I, even I, will punish you seven times for your sins.
(Leviticus 26: 27-28)
- Cannibalism. The wicked will be hostile to their own flesh.
Further, you will eat the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters you will eat.
(Leviticus 26: 29)
- The Signs of False Religion. Their useless gods and emblems of worship will be humiliated and destroyed.
I then will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and heap your remains on the remains of your idols, for My soul shall abhor you.
I will lay waste your cities as well and will make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will not smell your soothing aromas.
(Leviticus 26: 30-31)
- Desolation. Everything of value will be destroyed, stolen or annihilated.
I will make the land desolate so that your enemies who settle in it will be appalled over it.
(Leviticus 26: 32)
- Scattered and Exiled. Whatever remains will be exiled and scattered in all directions.
You, however, I will scatter among the nations and will draw out a sword after you, as your land becomes desolate and your cities become waste.
(Leviticus 26: 33)
- Sabbath Kept. God keeps His covenant with the land by removing those who are preventing God from keeping His promises.
Then the land will enjoy its Sabbaths all the days of the desolation, while you are in your enemies' land; then the land will rest and enjoy its Sabbaths.
All the days of its desolation it will observe the rest which it did not observe on your Sabbaths, while you were living on it.
As for those of you who may be left, I will also bring weakness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. And the sound of a driven leaf will chase them, and even when no one is pursuing they will flee as though from the sword, and they will fall.
They will therefore stumble over each other as if running from the sword, although no one is pursuing; and you will have no strength to stand up before your enemies.
But you will perish among the nations, and your enemies' land will consume you.
(Leviticus 26: 34-38)
- The Oppression of The Refugees and The Remnant.
They will remain in despair because they did not learn from their sins or their father's sins.
So those of you who may be left will rot away because of their iniquity in the lands of your enemies; and also because of the iniquities of their forefathers they will rot away with them.
(Leviticus 26: 39)
- Covenant Restoration.
When they remember the covenant and acknowledge their guilt and the guilt of their ancestors and confess and repent, then God will end His hostility.
If they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their forefathers, in their unfaithfulness which they committed against Me, and also in their acting with hostility against Me,
I also was acting with hostility against them, to bring them into the land of their enemies; or if their uncircumcised heart becomes humbled so that they then make amends for their iniquity,
The Covenants. then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and I will remember also My covenant with Isaac, and My covenant with Abraham as well, and I will remember the land.
Land Sabbath in Exile. For the land will be abandoned by them, and will make up for its Sabbaths while it is made desolate without them They, meanwhile, will be making amends for their iniquity, because they rejected My ordinances and their soul abhorred My statutes.
Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, nor will I so abhor them as to destroy them, breaking My covenant with them; for I am the LORD their God.
God Remembers the Covenant. But I will remember for them the covenant with their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God. I am the LORD.'"
These are the statutes and ordinances and laws which the LORD established between Himself and the sons of Israel through Moses at Mount Sinai.
(Leviticus 26: 40-46)
While they were under Roman captivity God remembered the covenant and sent Christ.
Land of Moab: The Curse Falls On Christ And The Final Generation
When the law was repeated at the end of the exodus, these were the terms of the curse repeated in the land of Moab by the final generation.
Deuteronomy 28: 15-68 elaborates on the types of experiences that will happen to the people who are cursed when the fifth and final curse fall on them.
Remember that sin brought both death and a curse.
The original terms of the curse were issued to Satan, Adam and Eve. All three carelessly threw away their birthright when they sinned.
The details of terms of the curse given by Moses are related to the birthright and blessing lost in Eden.
Here we will examine how Christ suffered the curses and death for our sins.
Eden: The Terms Of The Curse for Adam (Land)
The Curse on Adam.
Cursed is the ground because of you. In toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.
Both thorns and thistles will grow for you and you will eat the plants of the field.
By the sweat of your face you will eat bread, till you return to the ground, because from it you were taken. For you are dust and to dust you shall return.
(Genesis 3: 17-19)
When Adam intentionally ate the fruit, he showed disregard for His inheritance. Therefore, he was no longer master of the earth. Dominion was given to Satan who fought for it with trickery.
Adam lost preemenince over the earth and he would be a slave to it and to Satan, not its master.
- General.
This is the general results of all the suffering.
But it shall come about, if you do not obey the LORD your God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes with which I charge you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:
Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country.
Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
Cursed shall be the offspring of your body and the produce of your ground, the increase of your herd and the young of your flock.
Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.
The LORD will send upon you curses, confusion, and rebuke, in all you undertake to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, on account of the evil of your deeds, because you have forsaken Me.
(Deuteronomy 28: 15-20)
- City and Country. Jesus was oppressed in the city of Jerusalem and outside the city (Golgotha).
- Bread. He was from the basket of bread that was broken up and eaten by the enemy.
- Offspring (Jews and Disciples). His children abandoned Him or were taken away.
- Childless (Circumcision). The ultimate method that would guarantee no children is to be castrated.
Circumcision is the closest symbolic representation of that act.
Jesus would be cut off at the cross so that He was childless. So Israel was not supposed to resond to Him before the crucifixion to fulfill this curse.
- Wanderings. He wandered from place to place to be tried and condemned.
- Your Evil Deeds. Jesus never sinned. But many prophecies identify Jesus with our sins so much that He is pictured as a sinful Man. Therefore, Jesus was not just a Man who carried our sins as if He volunteered to clean up a neighborhood and held a bag filled with someone else's rotting garbage at arm's length while holding his nose.
He was identified with our sins and was responsible for them as if the garbage bag of rotting filth broke open and fell all over Him.
- Strength Spent (Exhausted). He was exhausted carrying the cross and breathing on the cross.
- Crop Failure. There was no fruit on the tree of Israel. The fruit was cast off early.
- Disease.
Christ had the signs of disease without defiling Himself.
The LORD will make the pestilence cling to you until He has consumed you from the land where you are entering to possess it.
The LORD will smite you with consumption and with fever and with inflammation and with fiery heat and with the sword and with blight and with mildew, and they will pursue you until you perish.
Your carcasses will be food to all birds of the sky and to the beasts of the earth, and there will be no one to frighten them away.
The LORD will smite you with the boils of Egypt and with tumors and with the scab and with the itch, from which you cannot be healed.
(Deuteronomy 28: 21-22, 26-27)
- Pestilence. Christ was seen as the leper Messiah. People stood far from Him as if He had the plague and no one came to comfort Him.
- Consumption, Fever, Inflammation and Fiery Heat. When He became the burnt offering Who was reduced to ashes, His bruised body showed all the symptoms of the burning.
- Sword. A sword was placed in His side.
- Blight and Mildew. The dark bruising under His skin looked like blight and mildew. He also suffered the remedy of a house whose walls must be torn down because of mildew that cannot be cured.
- Food For the Birds and Beasts.
Crucifixion victims were often left on the cross for days to be eaten and tormented by birds and insects and the hot sun.
Often, insects are attracted to the blood of the victims and they cause misery to the victim who cannot swat them away.
Other symbols describe the angry mob that surrounded Him as a pack of wild animals and a bunch of swarming bees.
- Boils, Tumors, Scabs and Itch. The swellings from the beatings, the scabs formed by the dried blood and the itching caused by insects, pulling of the skin under the dried blood and the itching caused by blood and sweat trickling down His sensitized skin.
None of these sensations could be relieved because His hands were nailed.
- Disease on the Children. Strange, new diseases will appear and they will affect the next generation.
then the LORD will bring extraordinary plagues on you and your descendants, even severe and lasting plagues, and miserable and chronic sicknesses.
He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt of which you were afraid, and they will cling to you.
Also every sickness and every plague which, not written in the book of this law, the LORD will bring on you until you are destroyed.
(Deuteronomy 28: 59-61)
» Crucifixion Diseases: Nature Speaks.
Amazingly, it appears that the design of the universe and nature reflects the Plan of Salvation.
There are several diseases that mimic the physical condition of Jesus on the cross.
The Plague of Sin.
My wounds grow foul and fester because of my folly.
My loved ones and my friends stand aloof from my plague; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
(Psalm 38: 5, 11)
- Sleep Disorder. We are all suffering the effects of death. Sleep is a symbol of death and Jesus exhibited many symptoms of sleep disorder from the time of the Passover supper until His awakening at the resurrection.
- Leprosy. The Messiah would be a social outcast when He had spots all over His body.
Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him a leper [stricken], smitten of God, and afflicted.
(Babylonian Talmud, Sanhedrin 98b on Isaiah 53: 4)
- Familial Mediterranean Fever. A disease that affects Jews and people of semitic descent. Each attack lasts 6 hours to 7 days.
It is characterized by red, swollen and raised skin lesions, pain in the joints (legs, hips, knees and ankles), muscle pain in the evening, chest pain primarily on the left side and sweating blood.
- Helicase Malfunction. A malfunction of DNA replication that causes premature aging and death, light sensitivity, skin lesions and spots.
- Porphyria. It is triggered by stress, excess iron, fasting and exposure to the sun. It causes blisters, swelling, mental changes, cramping, numbness, pain in abdomen, chest, limbs and back.
- Night Blindness. God had to cover His eyes during the three hours of darkness. When He reached the blind spot, He opened one eye to see the sinner before Him, He could not see us or our sins at that point.
- Stricken On the Cross.
You shall be driven mad by the sight of what you see.
The LORD will strike you on the knees and legs with sore boils, from which you cannot be healed, from the sole of your foot to the crown of your head.
(Deuteronomy 28: 34-35)
- Madness. He was driven to despair and fear.
- Knees and Legs. He bent His knees and straightened His legs to assist in His breathing by sitting on the sedulum to relieve pain in His legs and feet and standing up to relieve pain in His arms.
- Sole of His Feet. He had nails in His feet.
- Crown of Thorns His Head. He had a crown of thorns growing out of His head.
The Curse on Adam (Crown of Thorns and Nails).
Both thorns and thistles will grow for you ...
(Genesis 3: 18)
First Plague (Disease). Disease ravages the bodies of the wicked.
- Bronze and Iron.
These symbols act to cause drought, famine and destruction.

The heaven which is over your head shall be bronze, and the earth which is under you, iron.
The LORD will make the rain of your land powder and dust; from heaven it shall come down on you until you are destroyed.
(Deuteronomy 28: 23-24)
These three disasters remind us of the last three kingdoms of Nebuchadnezzar.
- Bronze Sky. Greece is the belly and thighs of bronze.
- Iron Earth. Rome is the legs of iron.
- Powder and Dust (Rain from Heaven). The feet of iron and clay that will be smashed to dust by the rock from heaven.
The Messiah is seen as standing on the earth between these three judgments until the destruction, just like Israel.
How was this sign fulfilled locally for Jesus?
Other prophecies prove that the hail was the barrage of insults that the people hurled at Him like stones.
The iron earth was the Roman rule under which He lived and which will return at the end of time.
The bronze sky could be that God did not hear His prayers. It could also be the leadership of priests who did not act as advocates on His behalf to God, but took actions to put Him to slaughter on the bronze altar.
The Curse on Adam (Hard Earth).
Cursed is the ground because of you. ...
(Genesis 3: 17)
The Curse on Adam (Return to Dust).
... till you return to the ground, because from it you were taken. For you are dust and to dust you shall return.
(Genesis 3: 19)
The Curse on Adam (Shattered Clay Jar).
His life force was dried up until the clay that made His body was shatterd into a billion pieces of dust.
Shattered Pottery.
My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue cleaves to my jaws; And You lay me in the dust of death.
(Psalm 22: 15)
Jesus was not any common clay jar, He was the jar in the Ark of the covenant that held the Manna.
While metal objects can be purified by fire, some porous vessels cannot be purified by water and must be broken.
Jesus was a porous vessel. He leaked blood in the Garden of Gethsemane. He leaked tears on the cross. So He had to be shattered.
The Curse on Adam (Stillbirth).
Cursed be ... the fruit of the ground ...
(Deuteronomy 28: 18)
The Curse on Adam (Death).
... until He has consumed you from the land where you are entering to possess it.
(Deuteronomy 28: 21)
» Earthquake (The Earth Opens Its Mouth).
Both of these curses are a symbol of the earth swallowing the dead.
In the first case, the earth does not open its mouth to let the fruit out of the earth and the womb becomes the grave.
In the second case, the earth opens its mouth and swallows or consumes the dead fruit.
» Christ Possesses the Land of the Dead.
Interestingly, Christ entered the land of the dead and possessed it. He emerged with the keys of death and Hades.
A curse became a blessing!
Ruler of the Dead.
... I am the first and the last and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.
(Revelation 1: 17-18)
- No Harvest.
You shall bring out much seed to the field but you will gather in little, for the locust will consume it.
You shall plant and cultivate vineyards, but you will neither drink of the wine nor gather the grapes, for the worm will devour them.
You shall have olive trees throughout your territory but you will not anoint yourself with the oil, for your olives will drop off.
You shall have sons and daughters but they will not be yours, for they will go into captivity.
The cricket shall possess all your trees and the produce of your ground.
(Deuteronomy 28: 38-42)
The Garden of Gethsemane was the orchard and cultivated vineyard where the harvest was devoured.
- Locust Consumes Seeds. About 450 soldiers from the Roman army came to arrest Jesus in the garden. Locusts are the symbol of an army and Jesus was the Seed of Israel.
- Worm Devours Vineyard. Jesus was the vine bearing fruit who was eaten up by the greedy mob.
- Olives Fall Off. The Holy Spirit left Him and the disciples scattered.
- Children Captive. Jesus was the Child that was led away captive, bound in ropes.
- Cricket Invades Trees. Jesus was the tree of life who was captured by an angry mob of people, priests and soldiers.
» Eating the Tree of Life. The curse on Him became a blessing for us. God made peace with His enemies at the crucifixion and we are eating the Tree of Life!
The Curse on Adam (Sweat).
By the sweat of your face you will eat bread ...
(Genesis 3: 19)
The Curse on Adam (Animal Food).
... you will eat the plants of the field.
(Genesis 3: 18)
Like the prodigal son, we will be forced to eat the food designated for the animals because they will eat our food.
Fourth Plague (Heat). Famine from many sources causes hard work with no returns.
- Possessions Robbed.
All these images are a picture of the loss of Israel.
You shall betroth a wife, but another man will violate her; you shall build a house, but you will not live in it; you shall plant a vineyard, but you will not use its fruit.
(Deuteronomy 28: 30)
- Wife. Israel was the wife who was taken away by Rome. The priests has an illicit union with the government, resulting in His death.
- House. Israel was the house that was left desolate after He built it for 2000 years, appearing the last 3.5 years to take possession.
- Vineyard. Israel was the vine that was cut off because it bore no fruit.
- Fruit. Jesus was the Son, the fruit of the womb, that they will not use because the Gentiles stole Him.
- Animals.
Your ox shall be slaughtered before your eyes, but you will not eat of it;
your donkey shall be torn away from you, and will not be restored to you;
your sheep shall be given to your enemies, and you will have none to save you.
(Deuteronomy 28: 31)
This is a prophecy about the animals that represented the sacrifice of Jesus.
- Ox ("Peace Offering"). Jesus was the ox slaughtered as a peace offering as they watched. This was the only type of offering eaten by the people. In the curse, they do not get to eat their peace offering.
- Donkey ("Burden Bearer"). Many prophecies symbolized Jesus as the donkey who bore burdens. Now Israel would have no one to bear their burdens.
- Sheep ("Burnt Offering"). This offering saves people from sin was stripped away and given to the Gentiles and there was no one to save them.
Second Plague (Blood in the Sea). Food from the sea is also gone.
- Jews and Gentiles.
Your sons and your daughters shall be given to another people, while your eyes look on and yearn for them continually; but there will be nothing you can do.
A people whom you do not know shall eat up the produce of your ground and all your labors, and you will never be anything but oppressed and crushed continually.
(Deuteronomy 28: 32-33)
- Sons and Daughters ("Jews"). The Jews were scattered throughout the earth for about 1810 years, finally receiving a homeland in 1948. They were nearly massacred by the Germans and were rejected by most of the nations who refused to offer any significant help.
It was possibly this unwillingness to help them that made the world agree to the establishment of a homeland as the solution to the Jewish problem.
The Yearning.
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling.
Behold your house is being left to you desolate.
(Matthew 23: 37-38)
- Unknown People ("Gentiles"). The Gentiles inherited the covenant and are producing the fruits.
- No Sabbath Rest On the Cross.
Among those nations you shall find no rest, and there will be no resting place for the sole of your foot; but there the LORD will give you a trembling heart, failing of eyes, and despair of soul.
So your life shall hang in doubt before you; and you will be in dread night and day, and shall have no assurance of your life.
(Deuteronomy 28: 65-66)
- No Rest For His Feet.
Walking about from one trial to another, Jesus had no rest for the soles of His feet.
While He was on the cross trying to breathe He still had no rest as He used His feet to push His body up and down to breathe and relieve the pain in His arms and legs. Read about the agony here.
» The Feet Of The Messiah. Several symbols portray the feet of the Messiah as being important and being protected.
By examining the animals that represent Him, we conclude that He protects His feet so that we are not harmed.
- Clean Animals. They have split hooves to represent His nailed feet.
- Donkey and Mule. A mule is prized because it has the best features of a donkey and a horse. It has the strength of a horse and the feet of a donkey.
The donkey represents the barefoot Messiah Who carries great burdens but is scorned as a lowly creature.
The feet are designed to live on harder, rockier ground than many horses.
Its feet are harder and more elastic and do not need to be shod.
- Dove. Their feet are specially designed so that they do not damage the tender stalk of the grain.
- Eagle. Their feet are curled up in a ball while they have eggs and young babies so that they do not damage the child.
- The Feet In The Most Holy Place. The sanctuary represents the feet on the cross as being protected in the Most Holy Place.
- The Barefoot Priest. The priests remove their shoes before entering the sanctuary. Taking off the shoe is a sign of redemption.
While God stretches out His hands to welcome those to whom He grants friendship, He uses His feet to stomp on the neck of the wicked and crush out their life.
- Hanging In Doubt. He was hanging from the cross, fighting for His life. Wondering where the Father was.
- Night and Day. He was in dread from Thursday sunset, the night of Passover and all day Friday until just before sunset on Friday when He died.
- Despair And No Assurance.
When Jesus cried, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" He was expressing the loneliness and abandonment of having no assurance that He would survive.
Knowing that He could die forever, Jesus still held fast to the Father in faith and submitted to death.
This portion of the curse proves that Jesus did not know if He would survive and that God experienced this ordeal with all the limitations of a human.
He Will Succeed.
Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.
(Isaiah 42: 1, 4)
Do we think God is so squemish He could not look at Jesus?
Could the sum total of all our sins be so awful that even He could not look at it?
Isn't He all-knowing? These cannot be the reasons.
God did not comfort Jesus because He was forced to abandon Him.
God had to abandon Jesus because that was part of the ransom deal. No support! No assurance!
The Curse on Adam (Hard Work).
... In toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.
(Genesis 3: 17)
Nailed to the Cross: Sabbaths. What sabbaths could be against us or how could a day of rest be against us?
Satan desired that we should have no rest. So with malice he gave Christ no rest during a high Sabbath.
He urged the murder of Christ on that Friday. He contended for the body of Christ during that Sabbath.
But Christ suffered a period of no rest so that we could have eternal rest from sin. So what was nailed to the cross was a Sabbath of no rest in which Satan became our accuser for three days.
The Sabbath will be celebrated for eternity.
Nailed to the Cross: Holy Days. What holy day or feast day could be against us?
Satan used a day set aside for celebration with God to riot, terrorize and destroy the Messiah. On the Passover holy day when Christ was nailed to the cross, He also fulfilled the horrible requirements of all the feast days.
He became the burnt offering, the sin and guilt offering while His blood was scattered around the city.
He was tied up, killed, spit on and eaten while the unruly dinner guests mocked Him.
Because He suffered them, we are not required to suffer them.
The symbols of work, death and slavery have been satisfied. We still have the symbols of rest, freedom and adoption remaining in the sabbaths of the feast days.
So, the feast day sabbaths will remain forever because they are a celebration of what God has done for us.
Then, as grateful dinner guests we will praise God for what He has done while eating an appropriate meal.
Eden: The Terms Of The Curse for The Serpent (Loss of Preeminence)
The Curse on The Serpent (Spectacular Fall).
The Lord God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, cursed are you more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field. On your belly you will go, and dust you will eat all the days of your life.
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. And he shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise him on the heel."
(Genesis 3: 14-15)
Compared to Adam, Satan was a first born among the created beings who was so important he stood next to the throne of God.
When Satan rebelled against God and corrupted the innocent Adam and Eve, he lost preeminence.
Like all the other ill-fated firstborns, his inheritance and blessing will go to another brother and hisfate is described in Ezekiel 28: 12-19.
Christ became the faithful son when He was begotten by God. He will inherit all that Satan and Adam lost. He sits at the right hand of God and Satan will be like dung on the earth.
- Loss of Status.
The alien who is among you shall rise above you higher and higher, but you will go down lower and lower.
He shall lend to you, but you will not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you will be the tail.
So all these curses shall come on you and pursue you and overtake you until you are destroyed, because you would not obey the LORD your God by keeping His commandments and His statutes which He commanded you.
They shall become a sign and a wonder on you and your descendants forever.
(Deuteronomy 28: 43-46)
- Higher or Lower. Christ was the alien from heaven who rose higher when He was lifted up on the cross.
- Head or Tail. On the cross, Christ was their head, because they labeled Him "King of the Jews".
- Lend or Borrow. God gave us the gift of eternal life and paid the price of salvation all at no cost. Although He did not borrow, yet He had to pay the price of our debts.
And, we despised or trampled on His gifts.
... What I did not steal, I then have to restore.
(Psalm 69: 4)
... They repay me evil for good to the bereavement of My soul.
(Psalm 35: 12)
- Curse On The Seed Forever. From the studies on hell fire we know that "forever" means "until the time has expired".
In heaven there will be no more curse. So this curse may last until hell fire ends.
And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him.
(Revelation 22: 3)
We know the curse will be on the earth during the millennium.
So how does the curse remain on the righteous from the crucifixion until the earth is recreated if we are in heaven during the millennium?
- Death, Famine, Disease. 2000 years after the crucifixion the curse still plagues us.
- Cannibalism. Jesus will drink this with us after the Second Coming.
But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.
(Matthew 26: 29)
Everytime we take the communion bread and wine now and during the millennium we are technically in the curse.
This is the only way that the curse follows us through the millennium.
The Curse on The Serpent (Injured).
... And he shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise him on the heel.
(Genesis 3: 15)
Christ was the head Who was crushed by Rome. However, He will crush Satan and trample on his head.
- Serve Enemies.
Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and a glad heart, for the abundance of all things;
therefore you shall serve your enemies whom the LORD will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in the lack of all things; and He will put an iron yoke on your neck until He has destroyed you.
(Deuteronomy 28: 47-48)
- Hunger and Thirst. On the cross He said that He was thirsty and they gave Him vinegar.
- Nakedness. His clothes were taken and they gambled for them.
- Lack of Things. His disciples ran away and it seemed like the Father forsook Him.
The Character of God.
For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, nor has he hidden His face from him; but when he cried to Him for help, He heard.
(Psalm 22: 24)
- Iron Yoke. The cross from the iron kingdom of Rome was the iron yoke that He bore on His shoulders.
The Curse on The Serpent (War).
... And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. ...
(Genesis 3: 15)
Israel rejected Christ and the twelve disciples and the enmity persists for 2000 years.
» Enmity. This enmity is a wonderful promise that we can hate this enemy and reject the temptations of Satan.
Sixth Plague (Dry Rivers). A path is opened for war and the followers of Satan will dry up.
- Stars Fall.
This is a prophecy that their numbers would diminish as stars that fall and are scattered.
Then you shall be left few in number, whereas you were as numerous as the stars of heaven, because you did not obey the LORD your God.
It shall come about that as the LORD delighted over you to prosper you, and multiply you, so the LORD will delight over you to make you perish and destroy you; and you will be torn from the land where you are entering to possess it.
(Deuteronomy 28: 62-63)
- Many Stars ("Israel"). The holy people are symbolized as the stars in heaven (Daniel 12).
- 12 Stars ("Disciples"). The twelve tribes and twelve disciples are symbolized by stars (Revelation 12: 1). Both Israel and the disciples abandoned Jesus.
In this dark period, Jesus is symbolized as an eclipsed sun and moon and now He is seen as a falling star.
Christ gave up preeminence when He volunteered to come to earth in the form of a lower creature. He fell on His belly into the dust of the ground while carrying the cross.
The Curse on The Serpent (Falls to the Earth).
On your belly you will go, and dust you will eat all the days of your life.
(Genesis 3: 14)
Satan was banished to the earth when he lost preeminence and fell from a high position in heaven.
The Disgraced Covering Cherub.
By the abundance of your trade you were internally filled with violence, and you sinned. Therefore I have cast you as profane from the mountain of God. And I have destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
(Ezekiel 28: 16)
Cast to the Ground.
Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty. You corrupted your wisdom by reason of your spleandor, I cast you to the ground. I put you before kings that they may see you.
(Ezekiel 28: 17)
Jesus was cast to the ground and dragged before kings in a sequence of unjust trials.
Evicted.
"How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, you who have weakened the nations!
(Isaiah 14: 12)
Seventh Plague (Destruction from the Air). Hail falls and pulverizes and breaks open the earth.
- Seven Trials in Seven Places.
He went to seven different locations to be tried seven times.
The LORD shall cause you to be defeated before your enemies; you will go out one way against them, but you will flee seven ways before them, and you will be an example of terror to all the kingdoms of the earth.
(Deuteronomy 28: 25)
- God. Luke 22: 41-45. He passed the most important trial by God and submitted to the will of God in Gethsemane. From there He was bound and arrested and led off to a gruesome ending.
- Annas. John 18: 13. His first trial was before the former high priest.
- Caiaphas. Mark 14: 53-59. Then he was tried by the current high priest.
- Sanhedrin. Luke 22: 66-71. At 6.00 AM, He was tried by the Sanhedrin and turned over to the Gentiles.
The Sanhedrin met in the Hall of Hewn Stones, located in the north wall of the sanctuary complex.
- Pilate (Gentile Governor of Judea).Luke 23: 1 John 18: 28-29. He was taken to the Praetorium which may have been located in Herod's palace or the Antonia fortress.
- Herod Antipas of Galilee. Luke 23: 6-7. Hearing that he was from Galilee, Pilate turned him over to the Jewish king.
He was probably taken to the Hasmonean palace.
- Pilate and The People. Matthew 27: 15-31. Herod sent Him back to Pilate, who made the people choose.
He was probably taken to the fortress Antonia, in the north of the sanctuary, where the Roman soldiers mocked Him, placed the crown of thorns on His head then led Him away to be crucified on Golgotha.
Jesus Suffers the Seven Last Plagues.
Since we strongly believe that this particularly refers to the seven last plagues, we show how Jesus fulfilled these plagues for the righteous in another lesson.
On Trial.
... I put you before kings, that they may see you.
(Ezekiel 28: 17)
- Fear and Dread.
In the morning you shall say, 'Would that it were evening!' And at evening you shall say, 'Would that it were morning!' because of the dread of your heart which you dread, and for the sight of your eyes which you will see.
(Deuteronomy 28: 67)
- Waiting For Evening ("Death"). On Friday morning as He was being unjustly tried and tortured, Jesus longed for evening when death would end the pain and suffering. At that moment He said, "It is finished!"
- Waiting For Morning ("Resurrection"). At evening, just before He died He must have longed for Sunday morning when He would be resurrected and vindicated.
Terror, Shock and Awe.
All who know you among the peoples are appalled at you. You have become terrified and you will cease to be forever.
(Ezekiel 28: 19)
- Mocked.
You shall become a horror, a proverb, and a taunt among all the people where the LORD drives you.
(Deuteronomy 28: 37)
Jesus was mocked by the priests, the people the soldiers and the two thieves on the cross.
- Returned to Slavery.
The LORD will bring you back to Egypt in ships, by the way about which I spoke to you, 'You will never see it again!' And there you will offer yourselves for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but there will be no buyer."
(Deuteronomy 28: 68)
- Back to Egypt. How did Christ symbolically return to Egypt and what was "the way" that He spoke about?
When Christ submitted to bend His back like a slave and bear the burdens of sin He was a slave in Egypt, the land of Sin. The "way" He walked was the road to Golgotha which led to His death. He will never see that road again!
» Ships. If you have read the long lesson on the twelve tribes, it shows that beginning with Zebulun who was represented by a ship, He began His suffering by going out from the Passover meal to the Garden of Gethsemane and then to Sheol (grave) where the ship is the coffin in which we travel to the ultimate punishment. In Greek mythology, Charon is the ferryman who takes us to hades on the river Styx in a ship.
- Sold as a Slave. When Judas sold Jesus for thirty pieces of silver, that amount was the price of a slave.
- No Buyer. When Judas tried to return the money, he found that they did not want it and he threw it on the ground. Since nobody wanted to touch the blood money they used it to buy a field to bury the poor.
Corrupt Trade.
By the abundance of your trade you were internally filled with violence, and you sinned ...
Profaned.
By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your trade you profaned your sanctuaries. Therefore I have brought fire from the midst of you. It has consumed you, and I have turned you to ashes on the earth in the eyes of all who see you.
(Ezekiel 28: 16, 18)
Nailed to the Cross: Slavery and Bondage.
Slavery is the most corrupt form of trade. The period of debt bondage slavery is officially over. Christ purchased our freedom with His blood.
- Darkness.
There was darkness at noon during the crucifixion when God came to be with Him.
The LORD will smite you with madness and with blindness and with bewilderment of heart;
and you will grope at noon, as the blind man gropes in darkness, and you will not prosper in your ways; but you shall only be oppressed and robbed continually, with none to save you.
(Deuteronomy 28: 28-29)
Fifth Plague (Darkness on the Throne of the Beast). Bewilderment among the leadership.
Nailed to the Cross: New Moon. How could a new moon be against us when they will be celebrated in the new earth?
The moon is a symbol of the church and a new moon is completely dark, symbolizing a church that is not reflecting the light of God. In fact, the church, led by its priests was on a mission to eclipse the light of God.
Christ was killed during a solar and lunar eclipse. Although it was noon and the moon was full, every source of light was gone.
Therefore, considering the shameful role of the church (Jews and Gentiles) on that day, Satan could argue that we do not deserve salvation.
Yet God is saying, "Do not judge the new moon, because I allowed them to eclipse Me". So if God did not judge us for eclipsing the Sun and the Moon, Satan cannot judge us because he was not wronged.
So in heaven we will celebrate the new moon because it will remind us that when we were in darkness, God stood by us until we reflected the light at the full moon.
This is why the full moon was an important feast day to celebrate with God.
» God Gives the Blessings When He is Blinded (Genesis 26).
The story of the almost blind Isaac giving his blessing to the son with hairy skin at a special meal is the story of God giving the blessing to one of two goats.
Both sons were dressed in hairy skin. Esau was naturally red and hairy but Jacob was smooth and he had to cover himself with a young goat's skin.
Satan is the evil goat Azazel, but Christ is a righteous Man. But to receive the blessing He had to cover Himself in our sins so that when God passed by to select the Lord's goat for the blessing, He could be chosen as the Goat from earth to be examined for sins.
- Touch. Christ had put on the red, hairy garment of sin.
- Taste. At the Passover feast the hungry people were biting, chewing, spitting and swallowing a tasty meal.
- Hearing. The happy dinner guests picked Christ. Christ said that He was the one to examine.
- Sight. In the three hours of darkness at noon and in the darkness of night God was blinded.
- Smell. This is the soothing aroma of the prayer of the penitent.
So he came close and kissed him; and when he smelled the smell of his garments he blessed him and said,
"See, the smell of my son, is the smell of a field which the Lord has blessed."
(Genesis 27: 27)
» The Blessed Field. The Garden of Gethsemane is the field that was blessed. There, atonement was made and we received the blessing instead of the curse.
Satan gave up his glory to give Eve an apple thinking that he could receive something greater.
Idiot!
So, technically, the selection came at the cross, but the examination came at the resurrection. Because justice must be done in the light of day and God must judge not by looking at the outward appearance but at the heart.
So in the time allotted for the selection process, God relied on His sense of smell, hearing, taste and touch to find the most vile of sinners on earth because He was blinded.
At that moment, cloaked in our hairy garments, Christ was presented as that man and He was slaughtered and placed on the fire.
But in the light of day, at the resurrection, God found a righteous man clothed in filthy garments and He plucked Him from the fire.
The Accusation.
Then He showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.
The Lord said to Satan, "The Lord rebuke you Satan! Indeed, the Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?"
Filthy Clothes (Sin).
Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments and standing before the angel.
New Clothes (Righteousness).
He spoke and said to those who were standing before him, saying, "Remove the filthy garments from him".
Again he said to him, "See I have taken your iniquity away from you and will clothe you with festal robes".
Then I said, "Let them put a clean turban on his head." So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments, while the angel of the Lord was standing by.
(Zechariah 3: 1-4)
Like the three righteous Hebrews in the fiery furnace He did not burn up.
As the Branch, and like the burning bush He was on fire but He did not burn up becaue He was righteous.
And like Moses God took a closer look and rescued Him.
» God's Blind Spot. Look at this prophecy from science to get a thorough explanation of what occurred.
God closed one eye and stood in the perfect spot where He could examine the sinner. At the blind spot no sinner appeared, only the righteous High Priest.
Eden: The Terms Of The Curse for Eve (Family)
The Curse On Eve.
To the woman He said, "I will greatly multiply your pain in childbirth, in pain you will bring forth children. Yet your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you."
(Genesis 3: 16)
When Eve listened to Satan and carelessly ate the fruit, she subjected herself to another master and literally cannibalized her children by eating up their future.
She caused all food or fruit to be cursed.
Both Israel and the church are symbolized as women and are subject to this curse.
- Submitting To Unknown Gods.
The LORD will bring you and your king, whom you set over you, to a nation which neither you nor your fathers have known, and there you shall serve other gods, wood and stone.
Moreover, the LORD will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth; and there you shall serve other gods, wood and stone, which you or your fathers have not known.
(Deuteronomy 28: 36, 64)
The concept of submission brings to mind being under something by force, either their control or rule.
Since Jesus could not sin, He was guilty of idolatry or submitting under other gods in a unique way. Jesus, their king, submits to the cross and to death, serving gods of wood and stone when He was nailed to the cross and had the stone rolled over His grave.
- King. Jesus was their king Who was under the Roman occupation with the rest of Israel.
- God of Wood ("Cross"). Jesus carried the cross on his shoulder to Golgotha where He was nailed on it.
- God of Stone ("Grave"). A stone was rolled over His grave and He was stoned by a hail of spit and verbal abuse.
He had the power to take up His life again (John 10: 18), but He submitted to death, submitted to being sealed behind a stone and then sat in the tomb and waited for the angels to remove it after He was raised up even though He could walk through a solid wall (John 20: 19).
- Unknown Gods.
Death, torture and pain were also realities that neither Jesus nor God the Father knew.
However, I believe that this curse was meant to force Christ to submit to the punishment of those who want to be god.
Ancient mythology contains many stories that seem to merge the details of the Plan of Salvation with Satan's own version of the events.
Have you noticed how the curses forced Christ to reenact many of the features of the Pagan gods?
It is as if Satan was boasting for centuries about what he would make Jesus do when he got Him into his clutches.
- Atlas ("The Burden Bearer"). He bore the weight of the sins of the world on His shoulders.
- Hercules ("The Strong One"). The Greek hero who was the son of god and half human. He crushes the dragon with his foot.
He even carried the world for Atlas for a while, mimicking the action of Symon of Cyrene who carried the cross for a while. He was also one of the few heros who went into the underworld and came out.
- Ophiuchus ("The Serpent Holder") He is the serpent holder who crushes the serpent with his foot and holds Cerberus, the three-headed dog who guards Hades.
- Kronos. The evil god who ate His children and the afterbirth.
- Ouranos. Kronos, the son of Ouranos, took a sickle and removed his testicles and it was the first time that one god had done real violence to another. This is almost a reenactment of circumcision.
- Hades. He was ruler of the underworld. After His death Christ became the ruler of the underworld.
- Asclepius. The god of healing who could revive the dead.
We have another amazing lesson that talks about the broad meaning of the signs in the heavens.
- Rome. The Romans were the nation that their fathers did not know.
The LORD will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as the eagle swoops down, a nation whose language you shall not understand,
a nation of fierce countenance who will have no respect for the old, nor show favor to the young.
(Deuteronomy 28: 49-50)
- From the Ends of the Earth. The Romans came from the far west, beyond the land of the Greeks.
They literally came from the ends of the earth or the western border of the Eurasian continent because the Romans had conquered the Spanish peninsula to the Atlantic Ocean in 197 BC before they occupied Judea in 63 BC. No other nations west of this came to conquer Israel.
In fact, the nation that is furthest west or east of Israel that is half way around the world is America.
This may be an indication that the last nation that occupies Israel will be the United States.
- Eagle. The national symbol of Rome was the eagle.
- Language. The Romans spoke Latin, a foreign language. By that time the Jews were subjected to Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek languages.
» Rome Robbed Them of Their Messiah. The Gentiles accepted the Messiah that they rejected and enjoyed the benefits.
"Moreover, it shall eat the offspring of your herd and the produce of your ground until you are destroyed, who also leaves you no grain, new wine, or oil, nor the increase of your herd or the young of your flock until they have caused you to perish.
(Deuteronomy 28: 51)
To understand the concept of eating and cannibalism you must realized that this is something Jews said that we must do to obtain eternal life.
Because, on the day that Jesus was chewed up, spit on and swallowed, we received eternal life.
But in rejecting Jesus they did not eat their salvation meal. And, by accepting Jesus, the Gentiles received that meal.
- Offspring of the Herd Eaten. Jesus Christ was the offspring from the flock of sheep.
- Produce Eaten. The disciples were taken by the Gentiles.
- Grain, New Wine, Oil. As a nation, they lost the benefits of the disciples, His blood, the Holy Spirit.
- You Are Destroyed. Rome destroyed Christ at the cross in 31 AD and the temple in 70 AD and Jerusalem in 136 AD, killing millions of Jews in the process.
The Curse on Eve (Submission).
... and he will rule over you.
(Genesis 3: 16)
When the church (woman) submits to her husband (Christ) and eat His words, then she will defeat the serpent.
The Curse on The Serpent (Low Creature).
... cursed are you more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field ...
(Genesis 3: 14)
Christ was brought down low before the people. He was like a slaughtered animal and a lowly beast of burden.
- Siege.
It shall besiege you in all your towns until your high and fortified walls in which you trusted come down throughout your land, and it shall besiege you in all your towns throughout your land which the LORD your God has given you.
(Deuteronomy 28: 52)
Jesus was surrounded by an angry mob in the garden, at His trials and when He was lifted up high on the cross.
- Cannibalism.
Then you shall eat the offspring of your own body, the flesh of your sons and of your daughters whom the LORD your God has given you, during the siege and the distress by which your enemy will oppress you.
(Deuteronomy 28: 53)
This hostility is presented as cannibalism. This is the worst case of showing no love to your own flesh.
Third Plague (Blood in the Fresh Water). There is no food or water anywhere.
The Curse on Eve (On the Fruit of the Womb).
I will greatly multiply your pain in childbirth ...
(Genesis 3: 16)
She will have pain when the fruit of the womb is plucked. Plucking the forbidden fruit condemned her fruit.
Children will be lost in childbirth, even by cannibalism. Jesus lost mother Israel at this point because the children cannibalized Him.
- Hostility of the Refined Man. God is the tender and refined man who acts with wrath and hostility.
The man who is refined and very delicate among you shall be hostile toward his brother and toward the wife he cherishes and toward the rest of his children who remain,
so that he will not give even one of them any of the flesh of his children which he will eat, since he has nothing else left, during the siege and the distress by which your enemy will oppress you in all your towns.
(Deuteronomy 28: 54-55)
- Brother. Jesus is the brother to whom God and the Holy Spirit acted with hostility when they abandoned Him.
There is another prophecy in the law of the duty of a husband's brother which also portrays the Holy Spirit in the role of the Brother of Christ (Deuteronomy 25: 5-6).
- Wife. Israel is the beloved wife whom God rejected when they besieged Him.
- Children. All the people of Israel were His children.
- "In All Your Towns". Jerusalem is the only town which God chooses to call His home.
The Curse on Eve (Desire Husband's Rule).
... Yet your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.
(Genesis 3: 16)
Israel will desire Christ and He will become her ruler.
- Hostility of the Refined Woman (Israel). Israel is the refined and delicate woman who acts with hostility.
The refined and delicate woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground for delicateness and refinement, shall be hostile toward the husband she cherishes and toward her son and daughter,
and toward her afterbirth which issues from between her legs and toward her children whom she bears; for she will eat them secretly for lack of anything else, during the siege and the distress by which your enemy will oppress you in your towns.
If you are not careful to observe all the words of this law which are written in this book, to fear this honored and awesome name, the LORD your God.
(Deuteronomy 28: 56-58)
- Husband. Israel was hostile to Christ at the crucifixion.
- Son and Daughter. Christ was their son whom they swallowed up in the grave. The Gentile church was probably their daughter.
- New Born. Israel was hostile to the newly formed Christian church which came out of the Jews.
- Pregnancy ("Child She Bears"). Israel ate the Child named Christ who was now in the womb.
- Birth. Christ was born in the resurrection.
- Afterbirth. When they stoned Stephen, they ate the afterbirth and cut the umbilical cord, severing them from the covenant.

- Hostility of the Refined Woman (Christ). At the time the new covenant was made with Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane, He was the only faithful Jew making Him the only member of the tribe of Israel.
Remember, that some offerings were female, symbolizing the moment when Christ submitted. He submitted totally in Gethsemane when the Father denied His request to make this ordeal end.
From that moment on He was symbolically the woman named Israel who was suffering the pains of child birth.
- Pregnancy. Christ was pregnant for forty months as He labored for 3½ years.
- Sole of Her Foot. Christ could not set His foot on the ground because it was nailed to the cross.
- Husband. The only hostility He showed was to say that God had forsaken Him.
- Son and Daughter. Israel and the church are the two children of God. At this point the church is now the female and Israel is the male.
At the end of time their reunion is seen as a marriage.
- Pregnancy ("Child She Bears"). The church of the new covenant was the child.
- New Born. The church was born during this agonizing period.
Like Abraham and Sarah, He would give birth when He was almost dead.
Therefore there was born even of one man, and him as good as dead at that, as many descendants as the stars of heaven in number, and innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.
(Hebrews 11: 12)
» Giving Birth. Women used to give birth in the sitting or squatting position. Christ was forced into that position on the cross. It was there that He gave birth to the church.
» Torn Clothes. This represents His torn body. But for the birthing process it represents the tearing of the hymen at moment He gave birth - a virgin birth by a male! His child was a miracle birth from God through the Holy Spirit.
» Swaddling Clothes. His child was wrapped in the four strips of cloths torn from His robe of righteousness.
» Virgin Birth Science Mystery. If it were possible that a seed (sperm or egg) could grow without fertilization then a woman could only give birth to a female because she only has XX chromosome.
However, a sperm could develop into a male or female because it is XY chromosome. Therefore, Jesus was a miracle child because He was the son of a virgin female.
And, only a male could give birth to both sexes of the human race. So the redeemer through Whom the world is born again has to be male.
Since God made all children of His promise miracles, the Messiah must be born from a virgin female and the world must be born of a virgin male - just like Adam.
» Male Birthing Process. How does a male give birth? How and where does the child come out.
Looking back at Adam and Christ we see that the children of this man come pouring out of his heart through a breach that God places in his side.
- Afterbirth (Placenta). This is the placenta. Blood vessels from the mother and baby interlock to create a structure that provides nourishment for the baby through the umbilical cord. After the baby is born, the umbilical cord is cut and the placenta and cord is expelled.
Based on other symbols of the crucifixion, the umbilical cord was cut when Jesus separated from Mary.
So, the eating of the afterbirth occurred in the events after this.
» Sponge of Stale Blood.
Someone ran and filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on a reed, and gave Him a drink ...
(Mark 15: 36)
They gave Him sour wine to drink from a sponge on a reed. This is very symbolic of the spongy, stale, bloody placenta which is the unwanted old blood supply (stale wine). Even the hollow reed is the umbilical cord.
» Between Her Legs. When they offered Him the sponge on a reed, the route of the sponge on the reed could have been between His legs as He slumped down on the sedulum with His legs apart and head bowed. He was exhausted at this point and it is the only position in which He could have died.
He died immediately after drinking the sour wine. Essentially, Jesus died in child birth giving birth to the Son of the right hand.
» Spiritual Afterbirth (Blood and Water). When He died life poured out of Him in the form of blood and water from His lungs. The lungs are a spongy organ and also symbolize the sponge of stale blood and water. Water represents the Spirit. He drank from the Spirit (His afterbirth) to be resurrected.
The Forbidden Fruit. In a way Jesus took on the first sin of Adam and Eve by eating the ultimate forbidden fruit. He symbolically ate the fruit of the womb by cannibalism.
That one sin caused our death and His one meal will cause our righteousness. He defeated Satan with his own tactics. He hid us in Himself to shield us.
» Natural Behavior. Let us summarize the characteristics of the clean animal.
They have split hooves, representing the hands and feet split by nails.
They chew the cud, representing the fact that they vomit up the seed or can resurrect the seed in the bowels.
They are strict vegetarians who give birth quickly and eat their afterbirth.
Scientists claim that they do this to hide any signs of birth from a predator.
Assuming that this is correct, it is a continuation of the need to hide us until the wrath has passed.
In summary, this is the symbol. Israel gave birth to Him and He gave birth to the church.
All things are possible with God. In this picture several impossible things happened. God died. A man gave birth and God gave birth to Himself because Jesus was Israel to whom the promise was made.
Sin began with a misplaced appetite. If only Eve had known that Satan's intention was not to share knowledge over a nice chat and a friendly cup of fruit, but to watch her cannibalize her children because he hated the potential that she represented.
Eaten Secretly: The Mysterious Meal in the Darkness.

Deeds done secretly are sometimes described as deeds done in the darkness. This might be related to the events that occurred when it was dark for three hours.
During this time something incredible happened. We were being eaten by God! Why?
To reverse the curse of Adam and inherit the righteousness of Christ, we had to be IN Christ when He was declared righteous just as we all were IN Adam when He sinned.
» God Turns Off the Light to Hide from Our Sins and to Hide Our Sins.
God was hiding our sins by hiding us in Himself as He was being judged. As a consequence we became part of Him.
Let us look at the symbols and language that describe this union in the darkness.
These symbols describe us as cannibalizing Christ and Him cannibalizing us and God calls it His goodness because it was His greatest act of love!
» God Turns His Back and Saves the World.
Then Moses said, "I pray You, show me Your glory!"
And He said, "I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the LORD before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show compassion on whom I will show compassion."
But He said, "You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!"
Then the LORD said, "Behold, there is a place by Me, and you shall stand there on the rock;
and it will come about, while My glory is passing by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by.
Then I will take My hand away and you shall see My back, but My face shall not be seen."
(Exodus 33: 18-23)
It was during the darkness that God judged Christ and judged us. To turn away from our sins many symbols describe God as closing His eyes, turning off the lights, covering us with His hands so that He cannot see our sins as He "Passed Over". Now we find that Christ puts us in Himself to Hide us.
So when God passed by in the darkness to make the judgment, we were not simply hiding behind Christ, we were hiding IN Christ.
The cleft in the Rock was His mouth.
The only language that could accommodate this picture is swallowing us.
Christ hid all his children. According to this curse He must eat his children, the pregnancy and the afterbirth. He symbolically did all of this on the cross.
» The Just King Is A Hiding Place.
So Christ literally said to Satan, "you are forcing Me to eat My children. Well, I will become their hiding place until I defeat you!"
Isaiah also prophecies that a righteous king would be a hiding place.
Behold a king will reign righteously and princes will rule justly.
Each will be a refuge from the wind and a shelter from the storm, like streams of water in a dry country, like the shade of a huge rock in a parched land.
(Isaiah 32: 1-2)
Notice that this prophecy echoes what Jesus says about the church or the princes. We will also have streams of living water pouring out of us (John 7: 37-39). So we will also be a refuge like Christ.
» God Swallows Us to Hide Us in His Bosom.
Being In Christ. Abide in Me and I in you ...
Being In His Love. Just as the Father has loved Me, I have loved you; abide in My love.
(John 15: 4, 9)
When we are swallowed up in Christ we are safely in the arms of love, hidden in the darkness until the wrath passes over.
Christ in You.
Even the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Knitting Together. That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ.
(Colossians 1: 26-27; 2: 2)
After swallowing us, God describes the process of being assimilated in the body of Christ as being "knit together".
When Christ swallowed sinners to hide them, He also swallowed death. Now that everything was in Him, He could extract the good to "knit together" in His body and excrete the bad as dung.
» Eating the Word of God.
We can mock Satan's attempt to dehumanize us with his own weapons by cannibalizing Christ? How do we do this?
His words must abide in us and we must love Him totally and absorb His words completely.
Christ is the Word of God.
In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us ...
(John 1: 1, 14)
The Word is Food.
I have not departed from the command of His lips. I have treasured the words of His mouth more than necessary food.
(Job 23: 12)
Eat My Words.
If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish and it, and it will be done for you.
If you keep My commandments you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.
(John 15: 7, 10)
Eat My Life.
So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves.
"He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.
(John 6: 53-54)
» The Bread and Wine Goes In The Sanctuary.
Cannibalism is pictured in the sanctuary by the High Priest who walks into the temple with the blood to get atonement for sin.
We are the temple of God that must be cleansed of sin.
We do this by allowing the bread and wine or the body of the High Priest with His blood to enter inside us and make atonement.
Then the Spirit inside us prays with us as we offer genuine prayers of repentance through purified lips and a contrite heart, praising the merciful and holy God who made this possible.
» Vegetarians or Cannibals?
As Noah stepped out of the ark and surveyed the devastated planet, meat eating was allowed because the vegetation had been wiped out.
When Christ came, He stepped on to a dying planet where the worms and locusts had eaten everything and the fig tree was dried up and we were hungry for manna. So God planted Him as a vine and a stalk of grain in the parched earth which gave its first fruits at the crucifixion.
Before He was given to God, Christ celebrated the victory with the meal that God had prepared in the upper room where He expressed God's love and desire for us to be a family.
There we exchanged flesh and blood, the symbols of death, for bread and wine, the symbols of our adoption by God.
Given the Name of God.
You shall eat in the presence of the Lord your God at the place where He chooses to establish His name.
(Deuteronomy 14: 23)

Why did God use such a terrible picture of cannibalism to describe His work?
There are similar images in mythology and now we see them in the Bible.
This punishment, deal or arrangement was known by the ancients as Satan looked forward to subjecting God to such horrors.
As we shall see, they are allowed because of the terms of the curse as recorded in Numbers 3.
Before the substitution, first a census is taken of all the Levite males over one month old.
Then a census is taken of all the firstborn males over one month old in all twelve tribes (Numbers 3: 40).
- Substitution (Covering). One Levite could substitute for one firstborn.
Why would Satan agree to this? He had the first opportunity to corrupt the whole planet by corrupting one perfect and strong firstborn man, Adam.
When Christ exercised His option to win us back, Satan also had the same opportunity to corrupt a perfect but severely weakened Christ, the firstborn and only Son of God.
Either way, he wins everything by corrupting only one person. He won the planet by corrupting Adam. But the law says that at the jubilee the land will go back to the original owners and slaves must be freed. So his victory was partial and short lived.
So he got the opportunity to win everything for all time by corrupting Jesus Christ. He took the lazy way out. He desperately wanted to humiliate God and this seemed so easy.
» Substitution by Symbols (Salvation Money). Substitution also allowed Christ to use a symbol in place of a curse and to be the one Man who would take our place. So bread and wine could be used for flesh and blood.
However, this is not a meaningless gesture. Substitution is like a monetary system. Gold and the USA dollar are trusted legal tender in any financial transaction.
The object used as a substitute must have intrinsic value (gold) or be backed by something of equal or greater value. The USA dollar is backed by the assets, full faith and credit of the people of the United States.
Similarly, the bread and wine is backed by the real flesh and blood of the innocent Christ and the trust and assets of the government of heaven.
» The Firstborn Plan. At first this plan seems unfair. Why should I be saddled with a debt of sin and a body that is not immune to sin if I never had a vote when the choice was made 6000 years ago in Eden?
But this is the most brilliant and efficient plan. It allowed one perfect Man to substitute for all, instead of dealing with 12 billion individual sinners battling Satan on their own.
A Fair Plan.
So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men.
For as through the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.
(Romans 5: 18, 19)
The area of contract law has a concept that explains the rationale for making a contract without consent.
- Consent Based Obligation. Adam and Eve were obligated because they consented.
- Benefits Based Obligation. The rest of the world is obligated because we will receive a great benefit.
The "unfair" contract contained a bonanza of blessings and benefits.
If you do not want the benefit you can choose to opt out of eternal life. This is what the judgment will decide.
The benefits are that one person was selected to pay the penalty and this planet will be rewarded with the prestige and honor of being the universal priests of God.
Ironically, we are better representatives because of our brutal experience.
Benefits based obligation is a legitimate and moral concept that becomes clear in emergency services. It makes the greatest good as cheap and efficient as possible.
A painter cannot paint my house and charge me without my consent.
However, we pay taxes to maintain a police, fire and army which responds to all people without charge.
If not, then we would have to pay whenever we needed their service.
» Blessings. God's gift was to forgive and rehabilitate.
The unfallen universe and God knew that the law could not be violated without consequence.
So God would bear the cost Himself to the law and to any other created being who had a claim. He would take the punishment required by His law that was not due to Satan's curses.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.
(Romans 6: 23)
Then He would prove that it was possible to rehabilitate humans so that they could be trusted again. He become a frail human and died or rather "give His life".
» Covered by a Blood Transfusion.
This is also not a meaningless formality. Understand the difference between "dying" and "giving your life".
Christ was able to give His life in the garden of Gethsemane by simply bleeding as He expressed great sorrow and repentance for sin. He begged for mercy and He received it.
He substituted again. How does that change us?
Blood Cleanses.
And according to the Law almost all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness (remission).
(Hebrews 9: 22)
Under the law an innocent person died for sins that He did not commit. So we have a conundrum.
However, having been exposed to sin in the form of a weakened human, He was now immune. This immunity could be transferred by a blood transfusion according to biological laws.
This makes it a valuable and meaningful exchange. If we come to Him to innoculate us, He can cure us!
» Substitution in Gethsemane. Jesus Christ was exchanged for us in Gethsemane. Then a value was placed on Him and He was sent to Calvary as the ransom.
- Ransom (Money for Sin). We are being held hostage in a slave labor camp. God could pay Satan a ransom for us. However, the ransom was not just money, it was total humiliation.
God was rich, so money would not be a painful price. So he agreed that Christ would be the ransom that was the substitution token for our sins and he outlined the requirements in a document called the curses.
For you have been bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your body.
(1 Corinthians 6: 20)
- The Wages of Sin.This ransom is money paid for sin or as the wages of and for sin.
- Mohar (Bride Price). It is the money required by law that is paid by the father of the groom to reflect the value of the bride. We are the children of Satan, so he receives the payment.
- Mattan (Love Gifts). These are the gifts given freely by the groom as an expression of love.
- The Gift of God. We can also see the blood of the eternal God shed on the grounds of Gethsemane as the eternal life given as a gift to the earth.
» Satan's Money.
What does Satan value as a substitute to risk rulership of this planet and his eternal life?
What Satan valued was written in the curses. He wanted death and humiliation of the children of men.
He particularly valued the death and suffering of one Man, Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the special issue, one of a kind, pure gold piece minted from the treasures of God.
» Curses. Colossians teaches that God was not the author of the curses. It was the sick work of an enemy that God agreed to honor.
Christ Removed the Curses.
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross.
(Colossians 2: 14)
Christ used the law of substitution to take the penalty of the curses on Himself.
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us ...
(Galatians 3: 13)
» The Burden of Long Suffering.
The terms of the curse are extremely gruesome. Generally they involve severe torture and humiliation, from which God cannot rescue us.
They involve deprivation, beatings, unjust accusations, disease, slavery, submission to enemies, no rest, bankruptcy, desolation, nothingness, loneliness and abandonment.
All of these were personal physical, emotional insults and spiritual suffering. But they were not sin on your part if you could endure them. Since they were so severe they were designed to cause you to sin, especially against God Who was forced to abandon you.
Would Jesus curse God and die?
» The Sin of Cannibalism.
However, the curse had one more feature that involved sin against your own body.
The curse required cannibalism. You must eat your own flesh and blood, your own children and afterbirth.
Why did Satan attack the children?
Remember that the substitution was applicable to all children of the head of a household.
This is staggering! Satan not only wanted to humiliate the Messiah, He wanted to destroy His house and force Him to do the dirty work in the most heinous way possible.
If he had gotten Jesus to sin we would have been his property. But he never wanted us. He wanted to destroy God and He wanted to watch God destroy us.
In the end God will not even allow Satan to force Him to destroy us. The fire that kindles hell fire comes out of the body of Satan. He is therefore responsible for destroying the wicked.
Satan destroys his own children.
Since God cannot sin or command people to sin, substitution was allowed for this portion of the curse.
But it must have been allowed on the condition that if Christ sinned He had to submit to this indignity.
Therefore, Satan had to use every means possible to make Christ sin. He had thirty three years. What a horrible life this child must have had!
Since the crucifixion was his final opportunity, you can imagine the great suffering that occurred.
Cannibalism In The Animal Kingdom.

Christ as a righteous Man was represented by clean animals and the unclean donkey.
The sinners are represented as the swarming creatures from the animal kingdom that could not be used as an offering.
The people who surrounded Him on the cross are represented as a swarm of biting insects because of their behavior.
As a Man Who represented sinners, Christ is also symbolized as a serpent.
The fallen creatures from heaven are represented as the formerly clean goat and as crawling creatures who have been "thrown down to the earth".
The creation is symbolized by the behavior of a variety of animals.
Their eating habits show how Christ treats them.
- Afterbirth.
When animals clean up their young after birth, the literally eat the afterbirth.
Although they are strict vegetarians, clean animals will cannibalize their afterbirth to remove all evidence of young ones from predators.
» The Ravenous Wolf.
The blessing of Benjamin says that the son of the right hand is a ravenous wolf who devours the prey in the morning and divides the spoil in the evening.
- Vomit and Carrion. Scavengers will eat the dead, including their own. Wolves and birds will regurgitate food to feed their young and clean animals will regurgitate food to swallow in the third stomach without spitting it out.
But dogs will eat their own vomit. Gentiles are described as dogs.
- Land of Honey. Honey is basically bee vomit. Psalm 118: 10-12 prophecies that the people will swarm around Him like bees.
» The Sweet Life (Eternal Life).
According to the prophecy in Samson's riddle, when He dies this swarm of people will find a home in Him and begin to produce honey in His dead carcass.
... out of the eater came something to eat,
And out of the strong came something sweet.
But they could not tell the riddle in three days.
(Judges 14: 14)
Jesus is the strong lion who is the eater. But out of Him came eternal life.
Eternal life is pictured as the fruits from the Tree of Life and as honey from a slaughtered young lion.
Christ is that young lion who was torn apart and He is the Tree of Life who was cut down.
In the final three days of His life nobody could solve the riddle that we now know is also called the Mystery of God.
That puzzling mystery says that eternal life will come when we kill God and eat Him in a feast.
So the image of cannibalism is multiplied. Bee vomit is produced in a dead carcass.
God turns these swarming enemies into loyal workers who produce the fruits of the eternal life (the sweet life).
Out of the former enemies will flow sweet waters of eternal life.
» Land of Milk. Mammals give milk from their body, and in some way this is a mild form of cannibalism.
The irony of Satan's wrath is that in trying to make us cannibals, God turned the foods that are symbolic of our ordeal into bread and wine and milk and honey.
We eat flesh and blood, body fluids and vomit (regurgitated food), yet we are not cannibals.
These foods are a testimony to the great love and care of God during the harshest conditions when Satan starved us so much that God had to feed us with His own body.
» Eating the Potential Child.
In the insect world of bees and ants, the unfertilized egg becomes a male (Parthenogenesis).
Harvester Worker ants lay unfertilized eggs that are fed to the queen and larvae.
Jesus is the unfertilized egg that was eaten by Israel (queen) and the tribes (larvae).
- Maternal Cannibalism (Matriphagous).
Offspring of the species Stegodyphus lineatus of spiders eats unhatched eggs and then eat their mother.
The mother allows herself to be cannibalized by her newly hatched children to ensure that her children will have food to live. This is a picture of the swarm beseiging and eating Him.
- Male Sacrifice and Sexual Cannibalism.
The male of the Tidarren sisyphoides species of spider dies during mating but is not eaten by the female.
The male redback spider (Latrodectus hasselti)
sacrifices himself by leaping into the jaws of the female, twisting its abdomen directly onto her fangs and allows himself to be cannibalized by her while they are mating. This ensures that he has more time to transfer more sperm to produce more children.
This is a picture of plunging into the jaws of death to give us life.
- False Cannibalism.
A mouth brooder fish sucks in or swallows her young to protect them from danger and spits them out when it is safe.
This is actually what God did to hide us when we faced the judgment and accusations of Satan.
- Swallows Death. The King of serpents swallows up the serpents of death and the grave.
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory?
(1 Corinthians 15: 54-55)
According to Job we were like a serpent's venom in His belly that He had to vomit up (Job 20: 14-19).
- Swallows the Serpent. The great Shepherd's iron Rod of God in the hand of Moses is the Serpent of God Who holds the other serpents in the abyss of His stomach (Revelation 20: 1-2).
» The King Snake and the Rattle Snake.
The king snake can wrap itself around a longer venomous rattle snake and swallow it by folding it in its stomach.
Snakes can swallow larger creatures because their flexible rib cage is only attached to the backbone.
In the lesson on the offering we show that being attached to the sternum is being attached to the mother.
At the moment Jesus separated from His mother and became the sin offering, He swallowed and defeated Satan.
This snake is also the ravenous wolf who devoured the prey in the morning.
» Unclean Spirit (Spiritual Cannibalism).
This analysis gives some information about the nature of possession and unclean spirits.
Spiritual possession is a form of cannibalism, but who is swallowed? We eat Satan or ourself or he eats us.
I conclude that an unhealthy form of self absorbtion is mental cannibalism which causes a spiritual deficit which will lead to demonic possession.
Self absorbtion will lead to emptiness and perpetual dissatisfaction which will be filled by Satan.
First, we will be attracted to his ideas and be filled by them. Then, in this weakened state, he comes in and swallows us whole. We are captured inside and outside by Satan.
Most of the world is absorbed by Satan's ideals.
» Snake Births.
Even when snake eggs are laid at different times, their births are coordinated and synchronized so that they all emerge at the same time.
This amazing fact of nature also reflects a spiritual reality.
When Satan emerges in public, he and his nest of vipers must emerge at the same time.
They must have emerged at the crucifixion and they will emerge again at the end of time.
» Snake Bitten.
Snake venom prevents the blood from clotting.
So a snake bite can cause you to bleed to death.
This is the symptom of Jesus bleeding though His pores because His blood would not clot.
So the snake was in this garden also.
- Uncleanness.
There are many indignities that Satan wanted Christ to endure but God forbid. Unlike the heroic actions symbolized by circumcision, the bread and wine, these are degrading actions that can never be memorialized or symbolized in heaven.
If He remained faithful despite all the painful, unjust suffering, then this would have been a viscious attack on a brave and innocent Man and the universe would have been guilty of allowing such atrocities to continue by someone who by now should have shown that he was a coward and a liar and a murderer.
This far and no further could the raging seas engulf Him. He would not put the unclean in His body.
- Eating Dung.
Many insects such as the dung beetle provide a valuable service by getting rid of harmful waste matter.
Eating our own dung was apparently what Satan also wanted as expressed by their enemies.
The Assyrians sent an envoy to taunt the southern tribes who were beseiged in Jerusalem.
But Rabshakeh said, "Has my master sent me only to your master and to speak to you these words, and not to men who who sit on the wall, doomed to eat their own dung and drink their own urine with you?
(Isaiah 36: 12)
God spared them from Assyrian captivity, but years later they were given over to the Babylonians.
God predicted that they would cook food over their own dung by telling Ezekiel to cook his food over dung (Ezekiel 4: 11).
Ezekiel protested and God allowed him to use cow's dung to cook his food.
» Dung Disposal.
Since it is not formally written in the curses we assume that God rejected the idea and Christ was spared from even symbolically eating dung or drinking urine.
I am sure that when Jesus thirsted Satan would have wanted to soak the sponge offered to Him with urine instead of vinegar if he could.
The carcass and dung from the sacrifice were taken to a place in the north outside the city to be burned, not to the garbage dump in the south.
Satan and the wicked will also be taken outside the city and burned and I guarantee that they will eat their own dung because they humiliated humans in this manner.
» The Valuable Pearl. Shell fish like oysters feed on the dung in the sea. Yet the oyster produces waste that is prized as a valuable gem. This dung eater produces pearls.
Christ is the pearl of great price Who was treated like dung and discarded with the garbage.
- Shattered Bones and Eaten by Worms.
Even in death it appeared that Satan wanted to dishonor the body of Christ by allowing it to decay.
This is also where God drew the line. Jesus would have rest when He was dead. Mutilating His body in death served no purpose except to satisfy the blood thirsty desires of Satan.
On the cross scavengers were not allowed to eat His body.
Jesus was promised that His dead body would not see decay, neither would the bones of His suffering body be smashed after He died. The joints were pulled out of place but His bones were not broken as was the Roman custom.
- Rape or Sodomy.
Satan would have wanted to tarnish the symbol of the covenant by putting the Prince of the Covenant under his submission and raping Him.
Pedophelia and homosexuality were rampant in the Roman empire. Sodomy could be symbolized as cannibalizing the symbol of the covenant by eating or excreting that body part.
This is one other indignity that Satan would have imposed if he could. But this was another ordeal that God could not let Him suffer in reality or in symbols.
This was a sacred symbol, protected just like His body. If He had even suffered this symbolically it was not possible to memorialize this positively like other symbols.
It was forbidden.
- Demon Possession. Satan wanted to cannibalize His mind from the inside and drive Him insane so that He would do degrading things to His own body. It was forbidden.
Instead, Satan possessed some of the priests and the crowd, stirring up the mob to a frenzy at crucial moments to urge the people to administer the curses which is justice as defined by the enemies of God.
The Power and Influence of Mob Rule.
You shall not follow the masses in doing evil, nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after a multitude in order to pervert justice.
(Exodus 23: 2)
God was not responsible for the events of Calvary and humans may be only partly responsible.
Satan had to possess humans to force them to do his will. His angels may also have taken human voice or human form to shout down voices of reason and create a frenzy by stirring the people to turn against Jesus.
Satan possessed Judas so that he could go to the priests and offer to betray Jesus and he possessed him again on Passover night so that he handed Jesus over to the priests.
Jesus testified at the Seder that Satan had even asked for permission to possess Peter.
Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat; but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail. And you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.
(Luke 22: 31-32)
So He would not be raped or sodomized, nor eat dung, nor have His bones broken, nor be eaten by worms, nor be possessed to act against His will.
He would symbolically eat His young, but just like the fish He would not ingest them like a cannibal, He would hold us in His mouth by continual prayer and then spit us out when the danger has passed.
He would never sin or have His body defiled.
Cannibalism In The Church
I am not trying to be spiritually correct.
We should be thankful and amazed at what Jesus Christ did in order to obtain our freedom. He submitted to a cruel death, filled with unspeakable horrors.
But let us never think that God did anything more than agree to some of the terms. God did not set the price of this penalty.
God had no pleasure in watching innocent lambs slaughtered for thousands of years. He was forced to accept because our actions bound Him to the malevolent Satan.
He rejoiced that it would never, ever be done in His name again after the crucifixion.
God recommends fasting to remind us that it will take personal sacrifices and inconveniences to accomplish the will of God.
He instituted the Passover bread and wine to remind us how He died for our sins.
Yet many religious practices commemmorate the plan of Satan, not the loving actions of God.
We should never deliberately inflict pain or torture ourselves or each other.
We should never reenact the crucifixion and the whipping by nailing or beating any human.
We should never memorialize the curses as Satan wanted us to experience them.
- Dying More Than Once (Torture). Moses was kept out of the Promised Land because he made a grave error in distorting a crucial symbol.
He was supposed to strike the Rock one time to receive the water of life, then speak to the rock the second time.
However, Moses struck the Rock twice.
He was symbolizing Christ dying more than one, which was forbidden.
After the crucifixion, we only need to go to God in repentance and prayer to obtain forgiveness forever.
First Plan (Old Covenant): Sacrifices are the Curse. Above when He said, "sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin you would not, neither have pleasure in them which are offered by law.
Second Plan (New Covenant): Obedience is the Blessing. Then said He, "Lo, I come to do Thy will, O God".
The Preferred Plan.
He takes away the first, that He may establish the second.
(Hebrews 10: 8-9)
Hebrews points to the two plans, one engineered by the curse and one by the blessings.
God wanted obedience not sacrifices. He did not engineer either cannibalism or animal sacrifices as a remedy for sin.
Sacrificed Once. By which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God.
For by one offering He has perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
Obedient Forever.
This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord, I will put My laws into their hearts and in their minds I will write them.
And their sins and iniquities I will remember no more.
(Hebrews 10: 10, 12, 14, 16-17)
So Christ submitted to the terms of the curse only one time and freed us from ever having to humiliate ourselves again. Then He provides a friendly method for us to be obedient forever by providing us with a constant companion in the form of the Holy Spirit Who will give us life.
One Substitution.
For Christ has also once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.
(1 Peter 3: 18)
- Transsubstantiation (Memorializing Cannibalism). This doctrine teaches that at the command of the priest through the words "Hoc est Corpus Meum" (this is My body), the bread (Eucharist) and wine are changed into the actual blood and body of Jesus Christ which is then eaten by the people.
Even teaching that we must believe that this is not a symbol, but the real blood and body of Christ. At the command of the priest, Jesus literally comes to die over and over and over again to be cannibalized by His people.
Christ allowed Himself to be cannibalized once by Satan, He never intended for us to cannibalize Him.
The symbol of the bread and wine is for us to remember the atrocities that He endured and we escaped.
This doctrine is wrong on two levels.
- Drinking Blood. It is against the law to drink any blood because it is the death penalty.
So although the curse required drinking real blood, God had to require a substitute.
We in turn must remember that this substitute pointed to the real blood and broken body of Jesus, taken with much cruelty by Satan.
No Blood.
Whatsoever soul it be that eateth any manner of blood, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.
(Leviticus 7: 27) Also Leviticus 17: 10, 14.
- Cannibalism. It violates the rules about eating unclean meat.
Humans do not chew the cud or part the hoof. Therefore, they are unclean for food.
No Unclean Meat.
Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.
(Leviticus 11: 3)
Humans cannot be killed for food. This is murder.
You cannot eat anything that dies on its own or anything torn by beasts.
No Road Kill.
That which dieth of itself, or is torn with beasts, he shall not eat to defile himself therewith; I am the Lord.
(Leviticus 22: 8)
Jesus was torn by the Roman dragon - a beast, then He died alone on the cross.
- Gossip, Rumors and Slandering (The Fiery Tongue). When we gossip and carry malicious stories that hurt, even if they are true, it is a form of cannibalism.
Even the guilty need to feel that they can overcome their mistakes.
God was the first victim of this crime. The Bible views gossip as a form of cannibalism.
But if you bite and devour one another, take heed that you are not consumed one of another.
(Galatians 5: 15)
Nailed to the Cross: Meat and Drink. What meat and drink could be against us? Satan wanted to turn us into cannibals. But God substituted Himself and gave us bread and wine instead.
So a meal for cannibals was nailed to the cross and God gave us back the Passover meal. Passover will be celebrated for eternity as we remember the indignities that were planned for us.
The Sacrificial System
According to Hebrews 10 God had no pleasure in the sacrifice of animals and He did not want these to atone for sin.
So they must be part of the system of laws nailed to the cross.
However, unlike the curses, these laws actually had very humane conditions written in them.
Therefore, having agreed to the curses but being unable to agree to sin, these laws were God's attempt to accept the conditions of the curse without condoning sin.
This is a process that is similar to a law being passed by both houses of congress, but their difference have to be reconciled in a committee before it officially becomes the law.
This is why they were not God's ideal way of atoning for sin but they were still not as despicable as the terms of the curses.
- Blood. Since life will be a gift, blood is the atonement, not death. Even in heaven this essential part of the offering is pictured as a Lamb bleeding and weeping, not a dead Lamb.
- Bones. Although His bones can be dislocated, they were not to be broken. This provision protected His ribcage where the cistern of blood and water must be kept pure.
It allowed the blood to be still clean and with enough pressure to be a spring after Satan was done with his handling of the offering.
Liquid from a spring or cistern is always pure even if a dead animal falls in it (Leviticus 11: 33-36).
So even His death did not corrupt the pure springs of blood and water that poured out of His dead body.
- Eating. By eating the roasted animal, the people were fulfilling many objectionable parts of the curses in a civilized manner. They were spitting, chewing and swallowing in the bowels.
- Cannibalism. By eating bread and wine, they had a substitute for cannibalism which still fulfilled the symbols of pounding, baking and poking holes.
How did we symbolically cannibalize Jesus so that He felt the physical pain and process of being eaten while we did not technically eat His flesh?
- Flesh Torn (Teeth). The wipping with the flagellum, an instrument with several straps tied to sharp objects tore through His skin like sharp teeth. We have 32 teeth. The Hebrew was supposed to be whipped with no more than 40 lashes. The Roman flagellum had various numbers of whips.
- Cursed And Mocked (Gnashing With Teeth). They cursed at Him, chewing Him up. Job 16: 9. Psalm 35: 16; 37: 12
- Spit On Him (Saliva). In the mouth saliva mixes with the food before it is swallowed.
- Burial (Swallow). They buried Him.
- In The Bowels (Custody Of The Wicked). He suffered this indignity for three days and nights.
- Resurrection (Regurgitate). Satan was forced to give Him back (Jeremiah 51: 44).
- No Prolonged Torture. Satan broke every other rule.
God did not let this nightmare continue for days. He died quickly of a ruptured heart.

Although the curse of Adam fell on Christ, God seemed to protect man after the great flood.
God ceased the full global application of the curses because man's heart was so wicked He would have to constantly destroy mankind.
So God demonstrated another way. He would call a truce and take the curses on Himself until the wicked separated themselves from God.
Cease Fire.
The Lord smelled the soothing aroma and the Lord said to Himself, "I will never again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man's heart is evil from his youth, and I will never again destroy every living thing as I have done.
While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease".
(Genesis 8: 21)
When the wicked are separated they immediately fall under the curse by aligning with Satan, the author of the curse.
- The Curse on The Man and the Land (Outer Court). The land and sea are full of sickness, blood and violence.
- The Curse on The Woman and the Body (Holy Place). The evil church is full of blood. It is forced to cannibalize and cook its own children and drink their blood because of famine.
- The Curse on The Serpent and the Mind (Most Holy Place). The emptiness of the serpent is exposed as he is placed on trial.
While the seven last plagues show all the curses falling on the wicked, it is the curse on the serpent that defines the characteristics of the last three plagues.
» The Blessings in The Curses.
Satan wanted us to suffer the indignities and desolation of the curses.
So it is amazing how God took the curses and used them as the blessings that won our salvation.
You get the sense that He defeated Satan with his own plans, rubbing salt in the wounds.
- Cannibalism. The High Priest goes into the temple. As the temple of God, God made the process through which we receive life the same as eating food. He would be our food and drink but we must choose to let Him come in as the High Priest bringing the blood for atonement, the oil for lighting the lamp, the inscence for prayer and the bread and wine for food and fellowship.
- Serpent. Forced to look like an evil man by carrying our sins, Christ healed us when He became the serpent on the cross because He defeated the serpent, the virus that was killing us.
- Submission. Forced to submit to His enemy, Christ won the greatest battle though submission on the cross.
Jesus followed His own advice on dealing with an evil person when Satan took Him.
- Do Not Resist.
. But I say to you do not resist an evil person ...
(Matthew 5: 39)
He submitted. If you are not being forced to sin, then submission is the right thing to do.
- Walk The Second Mile. He went willingly out of Gethsemane and then He carried the cross.
The Road To Golgotha.
Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two.
(Matthew 5: 41)
He was taken by force to be tried by the Sanhedrin and He went willingly because the law said that He must appear at the door of the tent of the meeting with the offering.
However, when He walked the second mile with the cross to Golgotha it was completely His own choice because it did not satisfy a law of God but the curses.
- Taking Your Possessions. They took both His inner and outer garment.
Naked.
If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also.
(Matthew 5: 40)
It is interesting that Jesus pictured this as a legal action, not as a theft by criminal activity.
Satan took the clothes of Adam and Eve, leaving them naked.
It seems that now Satan has brought a legal action against Christ to take away His clothes.
Satan was accusing Him of unrighteousness.
Jesus' response was submission. He gave Him all His clothes or His life both as the human and the divine.
By doing this Satan was breaking a law. You cannot keep the clothes of a debtor after sunset because he will need it to keep warm (Exodus 22: 26).
- Turning The Other Cheek. He allowed Himself to be beaten and slapped.
.
... but whoever slaps you on the right cheek turn to him the other also.
(Matthew 5: 39)
- Death. By imposing a form of death through sleep and darkness, God rejuvinates with rest.
- Loss of Children. By losing Israel He was able to save both Israel and the Gentiles.
» Satan's Sacrificial Plan.
Although the law allowed sacrifices and offerings, God had no pleasure in them nor require them!
This is because they were Satan's requirements!
First Plan (Old Covenant): Sacrifices are the Curse. Above when He said, "sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin you would not, neither have pleasure in them which are offered by law.

God's plan was to change our minds and hearts and then forget our sins.
Obedient Forever.

Forgiven Forever. And their sins and iniquities I will remember no more.
(Hebrews 10: 16-17)
Calvary was necessary because it was the only way Satan would free us earlier than the law allowed. It was the price of redeeming the earth and the slaves as quickly as possible from Satan.
If Jesus did not submit to Calvary, we would be legally in the hands of Satan for a much longer time.
» God's Sacrificial Plan.
The sanctuary demonstrates the plans of Satan in the Outer Court and the plans of God for His people.
We are the true temple of God in which the High Priest must take His body and blood as He ministers for us and cleanses us and makes atonement for our sins.
Body Temple.
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?
(1 Corinthians 6: 19)
A Measure of Faith.
... think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.
(Romans 12: 3)
The design of the body shows how every human being has been given a measure of faith.
We all have the internal ability to understand the Plan of Salvation.
» Choosing God.
We simply need to choose to accept what was done in the outer court and allow the High Priest to come in and minister to us.
We signal this choice with two symbolic actions by which we show that we accept Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
We eat the bread and wine to remember the death of Jesus Christ for us on the altar of sacrifice.
We are baptized to symbolize the washing in the laver by the Holy Spirit.
- Altar of Sacrifice (Body and Blood).
We must fall on Jesus Christ and be broken. Repentance is the only death required.

The Broken and Repentant Man.
... But to this one I will look, to him who is humble and contrite in spirit, and who trembles at My word.
(Isaiah 66: 2)
The blood of Christ is the only object from the sacrificial death that is actually used in the Plan of God and the blood was actually poured out in Gethsemane.
The Bleeding Lamb.
And I saw between the throne (with the four living creatures) and the elders a Lamb standing as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out to all the earth.
(Revelation 5: 6)
The offering must be salted and we have been commissioned to tell the Good News to the world.
Salt.
You are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost its savor, how shall it be salted? It is therefore good for nothing, but to be cast out.
(Matthew 5: 13)
God does not require the death of animals to forgive our sins.
No Dead Animals.
For You do not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it; You are not pleased with burnt offering.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.
(Psalm 51: 16-17)
» Water From The Rock. When we struck the rock the first time this was the crucifixion.
- Laver (Baptism). The Holy Spirit is the Laver who washes away our desire to sin and cleanses our mind.
Washing Away Sin.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
Purify me with hyssop and I shall be clean, wash me and I shall be whiter than snow.
(Psalm 51: 2, 7)
» Memorial Cleansing. His work is so important that it is symbolized in baptism.

Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.
(Acts 22: 16)
» Water From The Rock.
When we strike the rock the first time water in the laver is poured out.
» Renewed by God.
The high priest enters the sanctuary daily with the blood to make atonement and he lights the lamp, brings the oil, replaces the bread and wine, brings the incense and removes the waste.
Now that we have chosen God, He must daily enter the sanctuary of our body to begin the cleansing and renewal of our heart and mind.
So the sanctuary probably represents our brain, because God will reason with us through our conscience as we are given wisdom and knowledge.
Obedient Mind and Heart.
But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord,
I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God and they will be My people.
(Jeremiah 31: 33 and Hebrews 10: 16)
Jesus atones for our continual sins while the Holy Spirit transforms our thinking and then our behavior.
New Mind.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
(Romans 12: 2)
Within our brain is an important structure that is modeled after each piece of furniture.
- Table of Shewbread (Bread and Wine) [Tongue-Taste]. We must eat the flesh and drink the blood of Jesus Christ to have life.
Since drinking blood and cannibalism is against the law, it means that we must take advantage of the price He paid for our sins and acknowledge that we are responsible for His death.
We are the temple into which the body and blood of Jesus Christ must enter, just as the high priest took the blood into the temple to minister on behalf of the people.
» The Taste of The Sanctuary. We must taste and see that the Lord is good (Psalm 34: 8).
» Memorial Offering. The communion bread and wine is the memorial of what Christ did for us.
This is so important that it is memorialized in this ritual.
We have the capacity within us to understand this sacrificial offering if we would only meditate on the cross and the events on the crucifixion.
The High Priest's Gift (Life). He brings fresh bread and wine daily for the altar. As often as you eat this bread and wine and meditate on them, you remember the death of Christ for your sins and the cost of your salvation.
In daily nurturing this relationship you will learn why man does not live by bread alone, but by the words from the mouth of God and the body and blood that gave us life.
- Menorah [Eyes]. We are the light of the world reflecting the light of Christ in the darkness.
We are a bright example of goodness that will attract the world.
Light.
for you were formerly darkness, but now you are light in the Lord, walk as children of light,
for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth,
trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.
Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them.
(Ephesians 5: 8-11)
» The Eyes of The Sanctuary. The menorah is designed like a tree with almond eyes. We must read the Word of God.
» The Word of God Is A Light.
We have the internal capacity to understand the things of God if we would only study the scriptures and let the Holy Spirit teach us.
The High Priest's Gift (Wisdom). He brings the oil and lights the lamp. The oil is the Holy Spirit who teaches us, giving us wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
- Incense [Voice]. The sweet smelling cloud ascending to heaven is the prayers of the saints.
A Cloud of Prayers.
Another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a golden censor, and much incense was given to him, so that he might add it to the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar which was before the throne.
And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, went up before God out of the angel's hand.
(Revelation 8: 4)
» The Mouth of The Sanctuary. With our mouth we pray and confess.
» Speaking to The Rock. When we need water for cleansing in the future we must speak to the Rock.
Then the curtain will open and water from the Most Holy Place will pour our for us.
The High Priest's Gift (Intercession). He brings incense for the offering and prays for us. The Holy Spirit also intercedes for us.
» Priest [Ears]. We are the new nation of priests dressed in the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
Wedding Robes.
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decorates himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
(Isaiah 61: 10)
» The Ears of The Sanctuary (SHEMA). We must hear about the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to accept Him as God and to follow His guidance.
Since we cannot see God face to face, the most important structure for us in our fallen state are the ears to listen to God.
The High Priest's Gift (Advocate). He constantly represents our interests.
- Ark of the Covenant [Conscience]. We are the creatures made from a nation of priests surrounding the throne of God who will forever sing about the goodness of God.
Sounds of Praise.
O Lord, open my lips, that my mouth may declare Your praise.
(Psalm 51: 15)
» Speaking to The Rock. Water comes out of the river which flows from the throne of God.
» Eternal Life. Life comes from the fruit on the Tree of Life given by The Bread of Life.
Rivers of Living Water.
Now the feast of the Jews, the Feast of Booths, was near.
Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.
"He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, "From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water."
But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
(John 7: 2,37-39)
Fruit From The Tree of Life.
the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, self control; against such things there is no law.
(Galatians 5: 22 - 23)
» Two Angels. Within our conscience are two voices seeking control, if we learn about God and seek a daily relationship with Him then the voice of the rebellious covering cherub will grow dim and we will live and become more like God.
» The Conscience of The Sanctuary. Between the eyes near the pitutiary gland is a set of structures that are the moral guidance system of the brain.
The High Priest's Gift (Atonement). He makes atonement for our sins with His blood and removes our sins.
This entire process are the steps of sanctification, which means cleansing us to make us perfect but in this illustration it actually means cleansing our body sanctuary and restoring it for service to God.
The Curse Falls On Israel
Forty years after the crucifixion, after wandering in the wilderness of stubbornness, the generation that personally destroyed the Messiah was punished for still denying Him.
The faithful remnant who accepted Him were given a chance to escape during the siege of Jerusalem.
This ended any legal or formal wrath against the Jews.
- Their King. The people claimed that Caesar was their king, not Jesus.
- Iron Yoke. Rome was the iron kingdom who placed a heavy burden on the people through excessive taxes, robbing the temple treasuries and determining who should be high priest.
- No Fruit. They lost their Messiah and their mission.
When they rejected Christ, the Gentiles gained the higher status as the Jews were rejected. The Christian church became the head or the leading church at the beginning but the Jews will be the tail, or the significant part of the body of Christ at the end of time.
At the end the Gentiles will also give them back their Messiah. Opposite the tail are the genitals which has consistently been used as a symbol of the Messiah.
The genitals are like a tail, but it gives life. The regular tail is a useless fly swatter.

- No Harvest. One consequence of high Roman taxation was the loss of trees. Because land was taxed by the number of trees on the property, they were chopped down leaving the land as a desolate place.
- Eaten by Worms. King Agrippa was eaten by worms (Acts 12: 23).
- Loss of Status. The covenant was given to the Gentiles and the Jews were exiled from Jerusalem.
- Higher and Lower. The Romans supported the foreign population whose status had declined during the Hasmonean dynasty.
The Greeks and Syrians were now increasing in power at the expense of the Jews, becoming a privileged class as the Jews sank into poverty.
- Aliens. A foreign army occupied Jewish soil and imposed their rulership and taxation on them.
- Siege. Rome besieged the Jews at Masada and in Jerusalem, destroying that city in 70 AD.
- Cannibalism. During the siege of Jerusalem cannibalism occurred.
- Robbed. The Jews lost their heritage in two revolts which each lasted 3.5 years. The first in 66-70 AD destroyed the temple. The second in 132-135 AD resulted in their exile.
- Jerusalem Lost.
In 130 AD emperor Hadrian issued a decree banning circumcision and announced construction of a tomb to Pompey, the general who had desecrated the Temple in Jerusalem in 63 BC by entering the Most Holy Place.
He also announced that he would rebuild Jerusalem as the Roman city Aelia Capitolina, and the construction of a temple to Jupiter Capitolinus on the site of Herod's temple.
In 135 AD, after rebuilding and renaming Jerusalem, he banished all Jews from the Holy City, forbid them to even set eyes on it.
- Cities Lost. In the three and a half year Bar Kokhba revolution 50 forts, 985 villages were destroyed and 580,000 Jews were killed.
- Priesthood Lost.
All the Jewish records in the Temple were destroyed. This included family genealogies which were necessary for establishing the legitimate line of priests through the house of Levi.
- Temple Treasures Stolen.
Jesus the son of Thebuthus, who was a priest, took several solid gold vessels and gave them to Titus.
These included two candlesticks, tables, cisterns, vials and other precious vessels.
In addition, he gave them the veils and the garments, with the precious stones.
Phineas, the treasurer of the temple, gave Titus the coats and girdles of the priests, with a great quantity of expensive purple and scarlet material used for the veil. A large quantity of cinnamon and cassia, and other sweet spices used as incense to God and a great many other treasures were also taken.
- Sanhedrin Massacred.
Ananus (Annas), the elder, was High Priest from 6 to 15 AD and the family dominated the priesthood with eight high priests in sixty years.
He was the father-in-law of Joseph Caiaphas, high priest from 18-36 AD.
and the father of five other high priest (Eleazar, Jonathan, Theophilus, Matthias, and Ananus the Younger) and the grandfather of Matthias, high priest in 65 AD.
During the siege, the high priest Matthias, the third generation from Annas, was wrongly accused of treason by his own people.
Three of Matthias' sons were killed before him. Then he and 16 other members of the sanhedrin were executed.
- Signs Lost.
In 70 AD, Roman soldiers celebrated their victory by raising their standards, bearing the image of the emperor, on the holy place near the eastern gates.
After 135 AD, other temples were built to house the Roman gods and the image of a boar (pig) adorned the gates. The pig was the emblem of the legion which occupied the city.
Turn Your footsteps toward the perpetual ruins. The enemy has damaged everything within the sanctuary.
Your adversaries have roared in the midst of Your meeting place; They have set up their own standards for signs.
It seems as if one had lifted up his axe in a forest of trees.
And now all its carved work they smash with hatchet and hammers.
They have burned Your sanctuary to the ground, they have defiled the dwelling place of Your name.
We do not see our signs; There is no longer any prophet, nor is there any among us who knows how long.
(Psalm 74: 3-7,9)
- Temple Burned. The forces of general Titus breached the northern walls, entered the city and burned the temple in 70 AD.
- Gods of Wood. So many people were crucified, that the Romans ran out of wood to make crosses.
- Gods of Stone.
Between 37-41 AD, the foreign minority set up an altar to emperor Gaius Caligula who believed that he was god. The Jews smashed this symbol of idolatry.
The emperor retaliated by ordering the erection of an enormous golden image in the Jerusalem Temple.
In 129-130 AD, emperor Hadrian rebuilt the city and set up a temple to Jupiter, king of the Roman gods.
- You Are Destroyed. The temple was burned down, the northern walls of the city were breached and over one million were killed and many enslaved.
» Flee Seven Ways (Diaspora).
These were the major locations of the Jewish diaspora before Rome exiled them.
Babylon, Syria (Antioch, Damascus), Egypt, Mesopotamia, Cyrenaica, Cyprus and Asia Minor.
At Pentecost (34 AD), Jews were scattered over sixteen cities and regions in the Roman and Parthian empires (Acts 2: 9-11).
Parthia, Media, Elam, Mesopotamia, Judea, Asia Minor (Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, Phrygia, Pamphylia), Egypt, Lybia, Rome, Cyrene, Crete and Arabia.
After they were exiled in 135 AD, they probably fled to seven major centers in these Jewish settlements in fulfillment of this prophecy.
(Babylon, Egypt and North Africa, Parthia, Asia Minor, Mesopotamia and Crete).
The Curse Falls On The Final Generation
We explored the curse applied to the wicked in the lesson on the seven last plagues.
Here we will add more images from this curse to understand what else the wicked might be facing at the end of time.
- Unknown Gods.
Then the king will do as he pleases, and he will exalt and magnify himself above every god and will speak monstrous things against the God of gods; and he will prosper until the indignation is finished, for that which is decreed will be done.
He will show no regard for the gods of his fathers or for the desire of women, nor will he show regard for any other god; for he will magnify himself above them all.
But instead he will honor a god of fortresses, a god whom his fathers did not know; he will honor him with gold, silver, costly stones and treasures.
He will take action against the strongest of fortresses with the help of a foreign god; he will give great honor to those who acknowledge him and will cause them to rule over the many, and will parcel out land for a price.
(Daniel 11: 36-39)
» Image to the Beast. Revelation 13 and other Old Testament prophecies predict the erection of an image in the Holy Land.
According to this curse, the image or objects we will worship by choice or force must somehow be associated with wood and stone.
- Gods of Stone. The wicked will ask the rocks to fall on them and hide them from the wrath of God. Therefore they are willing to be put under the subjection of rocks. We may be brought back to the primitive conditions of the stone age.
- Gods of Wood. This may predict a return to nature worship through witchcraft and even to primitive conditions of coal fire in a stone fire ring.
- Back to Egypt.
At the end time the king of the South will collide with him, and the king of the North will storm against him with chariots, with horsemen and with many ships; and he will enter countries, overflow them and pass through.
He will also enter the Beautiful Land, and many countries will fall; but these will be rescued out of his hand: Edom, Moab and the foremost of the sons of Ammon.
Then he will stretch out his hand against other countries, and the land of Egypt will not escape.
But he will gain control over the hidden treasures of gold and silver and over all the precious things of Egypt; and Libyans and Ethiopians will follow at his heels.
But rumors from the East and from the North will disturb him, and he will go out with great wrath to destroy and annihilate many.
He will pitch the tents of his royal pavilion between the seas and the beautiful Holy Mountain; yet he will come to his end, and no one will help him.
(Daniel 11: 40-45)
The symbols discussed in Ezekiel depict the church fleeing north after the crucifixion and then fleeing south out of Babylon at the end of time. In the south (Egypt) we wait for the Second Coming.
As we leave Babylon, the Antichrist will pursue us like Pharaoh and go into the south where they will meet their end.
Like Sennacherib, the Antichrist will hear rumors from his homeland in the north that Babylon is falling.
He will also hear rumors from the east that Christ, the king, is coming like lightning from the east.
So he takes up position in the middle ground, at the holy land. Here he takes his last stand in Jerusalem or in the symbolic temple of God.
- No Fruit. The seven last plagues occur over one year and during that time the decision as to who is righteous and wicked are sealed. This curse suggests that the wicked will not have any people joining their ranks.
In fact, many will leave and make an exodus with the righteous. But what about innocent children?
» No Children for the Wicked.
I have often wondered what will happen to the wicked who are pregnant during this period.
This curse seems to suggest that they will be barren or have no successful pregnancies for a year.
Another event shows the same curse. After Isaac was promised and a definite time was set for the next year, Abraham journeyed south to the Negev.
There, Abimelech took her in his harem when Abraham said that she was his sister.
But God came to Abimelech in a dream of the night, and said to him, "Behold, you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is married."
(Genesis 20: 3)
No New Babies.
For the Lord has closed fast all the wombs of the household of Abimelech because of Sarah, Abraham's wife.
(Genesis 20: 18)
At the end of time, the woman (the church) who is married will have a definite appointed time to give birth to the final church.
Then she will be captured by the evil king. God prevents the evil empire from growing any more until His bride is released.
But the wicked at the end will be more like Pharaoh than Abimelech, they will not release the beloved bride.
So God destroys them, their firstborn and the fruit of the womb.
Since the firstborn child is a sign of the source of one's strength, destroying the first born of Egypt was a sign of castration and closing the womb is the same sign.
Based on the purpose of the plagues we know that God will also associate with this event some cause that is a source of condemnation to humans.
What genetic or environmental disaster could cause such conditions?
- Genetic Disaster (Genetic Engineering). Once again I have to believe that the science behind the terminator and traitor seeds which accomplishes this same scenario in plants will somehow infect humans. Our science gods will cause our ruin.
» What are You Eating? Almost all the major grain are GMO (genetically modified organisms) since big agricultural conglomerates have taken over farming.
These grains like corn, soybean and wheat are found in thousands of products.
Over 51 genetically engineered foods make about 30,000 supermaket products.
- Environmental Disaster (Chemical Pollution). Male fish in all waters of the United States are developing female characteristics. In the Potomac River 100% of the fish are affected. This could lead to collapse of breeding.
Scientists believe that the cause may be pollution by drugs, but they are uncertain.
They believe that the culprit is bisphenol-A (BPA), a chemical which leeches from plastic. It disrupts the endocrine system by producing estrogen, a female hormone.
BPA is found in baby bottles.
» What are You Drinking?
A study released on December 20, 2005 showed that over 260 unregulated chemicals were found in the United States drinking water.
Do you know that bottled water is not tested as often as tap water? Neither are screened for drugs, so both are just as likely to contain chemical pollution.
BPA leeches into water after only a few hours, and gets worse if heat is applied to the plastic.
Bottled water is dangerous and may be affecting our perception of gender and self.
- Bronze and Iron. This law is the legal basis behind the image of Daniel. Punishment starts with the bronze empire because the gold and silver must represent the righteous who have been separated from the wicked.
- Bronze Sky (Verse 23). No answers from heaven.
- Iron Earth (Verse 23). The revival of the Roman empire and Babylon the Great.
- Powder and Dust (Rain from Heaven) (Verse 24). This is the rain of hail at the Second Coming and could include signs such as a dust bowl and falling asteroids in the years before.
- Flee Seven Ways (Verse 25). The seven last plagues.
- Carcass as Food For the Birds (Verse 26). The wicked will not be buried in the millennium and they will be eaten by the scavengers and eventually become dung and dust and ashes.
- Cannibalism. We expect this behavior and possession to be rampant during the fall of Babylon the Great.
During the French Revolution, Napoleon's soldiers used to dig up the bodies of Egyptian mummies and eat them!
In our days vampirism is becoming popular and meeting at parties to suck each other's blood is now a fad.
Nailed to the Cross: The Curse is Lifted From the Righteous.
In contrast to the wicked, the righteous shine like the stars forever. They have a meal, a name, an inheritance and are safe and healthy. They are praised and celebrated with great honor.
They are fruitful, living in peace and rest in the eternal light of the presence of a God they know, love and trust.
The Source Of The Curse
In all lessons that deal with the curses we used the images provided by those prophecies.
We will show that Satan is the source of the terms of these curses and the "Wrath of God" is imposed when God gives us over to Satan according to this legal agreement.
- Angels As Law Givers. Angels were involved in giving the laws.
This [Moses] is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness together with the angel who was speaking to him on
Mount Sinai, and who was with our fathers; and he received living oracles to pass on to you.
you who received the law as ordained by angels, and did not keep it.
(Acts 7: 38, 53)
I used to interpret this as angels being glorified personal assistants at Sinai, not as contributing to the content of the law.
In this incidence it appears that a good angel gave good laws. Christ was possibly this Angel who accompanied them on the exodus.
- Unfavorable Laws. There are laws that were against us (Colossians 2: 14). These are the curses.
So, evil angels could also have given some of these laws as terms of ruling the empire which Adam lost to them.
Also, since the price of salvation is characterized as the payment of a ransom, we have to conclude that God did not hold us as hostages and slaves and demanded a ransom that He would pay to Himself.
It is most likely that Satan held us as hostages and slaves and demanded this cruel ransom. This agreement to pay the ransom became incorporated in the covenant.
» Defeating The Powers.
Colossians goes on to say that when Christ nailed these laws to the cross He triumphed over certain powers.
He took the spoils of war, the human race, by defeating them with their own rules.
These powers must have been the authors or supporters of the curses.
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
(Colossians 2: 14-15)
» A God of Law and Order.
The land Sabbath is a consequence of God's covenant with the land. We must keep it in order for God to keep His agreement with the land.
So just as God's covenant with the planet also appears in laws that we have to keep, His agreement with Satan is reflected in the curses.
- Unpleasant Laws. God neither desired nor required sacrifice. He desires willing obedience.
Obedience.
Sacrifice and meal offering You have not desired. My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You have not required.
Then I said, "Behold I come. In the scroll of the book it is written of Me.
I delight to do Your will, O my God. Your law is written in My heart."
(Psalm 40: 6-8)
» The Effects Of Sin.
This knowledge helps us to understand many things that seem like compromises on the part of God in order to restore life and peace.
Sin not only forced God to suffer unlawful punishment and live with many unclean practices, it also leaves us with horrific choices.
Christ suffered the punishment of all three, indicating that He also made an offering for angels who rebelled and repented.
He became the second Adam and the church is the second Eve. Notice that the compromises appear to affect the punishment on Eve the most.
- Carnivores (Cannibalism). Certain meat eating was allowed to preserve life, but not cannibalism.
This requirement proves that a righteous God did not craft this law.
- Divorce (Submission).
Part of Satan's plan was to attack and destroy the family.
In reluctantly allowing divorce, God is acknowledging that the choices we make are just as much slavery to the system designed by Satan as is cannibalism and the suffering of His Son.
Given that the ultimate attack planned on the family by Satan is the destruction of our children at our own hands, God would rather allow a divorce rather than have children born into or continue living in such a poisoned atmosphere.
» Unilateral Submission. Men cherish this perk, but submission by women is not God's idea it is a curse designed by Satan. It is wrong to submit to a despot. Some polygamous societies use this to force women into prostitution and slavery. This is not God's plan.
However, Jesus conquered Satan because He submitted like a woman to the crucifixion, not because He fought a physical battle by an heroic male.
God used unjust submission to defeat Satan.
He beat Satan with his own weapons.
» Polygamy and Polyandry. Death, divorce and remarriage created this state of affairs by default.
This is why God annuls all marriages at the resurrection and allows us to start over after the millennium.
- Christ (Desire Husband). Satan hoped that women would continually submit to an abusive husband.
So he not only designed submission, he designed a pathological link to our abuser.
But in making Christ the husband of the church, God guaranteed an amazing reversal of fortune not forseen by Satan.
In the end, when Satan's abuse is so rampant and the righteous nation is forced to submit to the rule of sinners, we will desire our true husband and He will come for us.
- Slaves Of A Malevolent Stranger. The experience of Job shows us that Satan has the right to test us. This lesson shows that what happened on the cross was not engineered by God and it could not pay for our sins to put us right with God. It was a payment to Satan.
Jesus had already reconciled us to God in the Garden of Gethsemane.
The cruelty on the cross did not pay for sin. It paid the ransom for our slavery to Satan. So it was also necessary for our salvation.
- Slavery. Satan is the stranger who came to live with us when he was cast out of heaven.
Sold to Satan.
Now if the means of a stranger or sojourner with you becomes sufficient, and a countryman of yours becomes so poor with regard to him as to sell himself to a stranger who is sojourning with you, or to the descendants of a stranger's family,
then he shall have redemption right after he has been sold. One of his brothers may redeem him.
(Leviticus 25: 47)
Adam sold his birthright to Satan. Christ is the brother who came to redeem us immediately.
- Jubilee. Satan could never hold us forever, because the land always goes back to the original owners at the Jubilee.
It seems that the rest of the creation is automatically freed at the Jubilee, but the blood relatives can be redeemed immediately.
Automatic Freedom.
Even if he is not redeemed by these means, he shall still go out in the year of jubilee, he and his sons with him.
(Leviticus 25: 54)
- Ransom. So, to free us as quickly as possible before the Jubilee, God paid a ransom with His life. He submitted to become a slave and He submitted to death.
Christ was born from the tribes of Israel and became our blood relative.
We were redeemed right after we were sold, because God immediately promised the Son and Brother and Blood Relative Who would redeem us.
The evidence from Genesis is that this agreement was made in Eden because the blood sacrifice was introduced to Adam.

» Quick Death.
By God's own rules about killing the sacrificial animal lovingly, quickly and painlessly, the torture and slow death of Christ made this an unacceptable sacrifice to God.
It was the voluntary submission and sweating of blood in the Garden of Gethsemane that God accepted as the true blood offering.
Blood Cleansing.
And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
(Hebrews 9: 22)
Blood caused cleansing and forgiveness, not death. Christ poured out this blood in Gethsemane.
» The Lamb Without Spot or Blemish. Jesus was this Lamb in Gethsemane, but after the horrible beating and nailing on this cross, this was not the Lamb of the sacrifice. It was something else.
- God's Righteous Laws. All laws that come from God are righteous.
- Permanet Laws. God's laws are permanent and upright and He never changes.
Commandments.
The works of his hands are truth and judgment; all his commandments are sure.
They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.
(Psalm 111: 7-8)
For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
(Malachi 3: 6)
- Temporary Laws. The curses will not exist in the new earth and they are not righteous.
Curses.
And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
(Revelation 22: 3)
No More Curse.
People will live in it and there will no longer be a curse for Jerusalem will dwell in security.
(Zechariah 14: 11)
Since God's laws are permanent and the curses will cease to exist, then these are not God's laws.
- Wrath Of God. God takes ownership of these laws because He allowed them to be implemented.
However, when you see the term "wrath of God" just remember that He could have claimed ownership in the same way He "hardened Pharaoh's heart".
So, when this wrath is unleashed, it is fair to understand that Satan is involved just as we learned that it was actually Pharaoh who hardened his own heart.
» The Seven Last Plagues.
Therefore, the first four plagues could definitely be caused by Satan and his people as they get to manage a world without the merciful intervention of God.
The last three plagues are caused by God's attempt to rescue the righteous from the fury of the wicked.
Disassembling The Sanctuary
The disassembly of the sanctuary and the order of the tribes and objects from the sanctuary on the exodus proves that Christ gave the offering when He began the final exodus and before the wrath on the cross.

- Angel Of The Lord. One angel came to comfort Him and encourage Him to continue His mission.
- Ark of the Covenant (Blue Veil Cover). He went out from the Passover Seder to the Garden of Gethsemane as the God Who would be the sacrifice.
Now, He shields His divinity in blue as He submits to the laws of the Plan of Salvation.
- Moses and Aaron. He was the High Priest leading out on a mission to protect Israel from the wrath.
- Judah. He was the King of the Jews Who paid the price, bore the burden and provided shelter from sin.
- Gershon (Disassembled Roof and Fence). His skin opened and bled as He prayed.
- Merari (Broken Building). He was broken as He contemplated the awful suffering ahead.
» Restored Spiritual Temple. After Gethsemane and before His arrest, He was spiritually restored.
- Reuben. He was the disgraced and abandoned first born. All the disciples and support were now gone.
- Kohath (Holy Objects). He was arrested and taken away in chains to a series of fiery trials through which His body was covered in red blood or blue and purple bruises. The twelve disciples ran away.
- Table of Shewbread (Red Cover). The broken bread and wine of His beaten and bleeding body.
- Altar of Incense (Blue Cover). By law, He prayed for sinners as their High Priest.
- Menorah (Blue Cover). By law, He remained the light of God even in the darkness.
- Altar of Sacrifice (Purple Cover). The bruised body of the High Priest is now a purple color.
Jesus caused sacrifice and grain offering to cease at this point, disassembling the sanctuary system.
End of the Sacrificial System.
... And He will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering ...
(Daniel 9: 27)
We have always thought that the sacrificial system ended only because Jesus became the perfect sacrifice once and for all.
However, the system also ended because this was part of Satan's ransom, not God's design.
» Rebuilt Physical Temple and Restored Sacrifices?
Therefore, the popular interpretation that God will allow the sanctuary to be rebuilt so that the Jews can restart animal sacrifices, is illogical and immoral.
It is illogical because Jesus already made the perfect sacrifice, why would he revert to a system that has never worked and will never work?
It is immoral because God has done away with it because His own testimony says that He hates the system (Hebrews 10: 8-9).
He hates the system because it was Satan's design to torture and kill and cannibalize the righteous.
God has abolished cannibalism and animal sacrifices forever.
The only temple that will be rebuilt is the spiritual house, with our bodies as the building block.
The only sacrifice that will be brought is a pure and contrite spirit and a thankful heart.
- Joseph. Imprisoned, He determined to be faithful to God like Joseph.
- Dan (Serpent). He was now on the cross dying as a wicked Man.

There is a season for the migration of the righteous.
Disassembling the sanctuary is in preparation for a migration.

We have three great migrations to Jerusalem for Passover, Pentecost and Yom Kippur.
Perhaps there are other natural phenomenon that symbolize these movements.
» Passover. Egypt to Jerusalem
» Pentecost. Dove Migration
» Yom Kippur.
The Monarch Migration in North America precisely mimics all the symbols and time prophecies for the migration of the end time church out of Babylon at Yom Kippur.

At certain times the righteous must recognize that they must begin the journey away from the land of sin and towards the Promised Land.
The annual pilgrimages to Jerusalem also prophesy about this migration.
Repentance.
Why then has this people, Jerusalem turned away in continual apostasy? They hold fast to deceit, they refuse to return.
Exodus. Even the stork in the sky knows her seasons; and the turtledove and the swift and the thrush observe the time of their migration; But my people do not know the ordinance of the Lord.
(Jeremiah 8: 5, 7)
When we begin the migration from wickedness God opens up a path on dry ground through the raging sea for us.
As the towering walls of waves stand on either side we pass through safely because God says they can go no further.
However, the wicked try to cross this boundary in order to swallow us up in the waves or slaughter us on the narrow path.
God curses their actions.
We began the exodus at the crucifixion and we will end it at the Second Coming. The first generation has died out, the second generation will finish the journey.
- Exodus Begins. The exodus began when Christ died as the Passover Lamb and His body was torn down.
- Red Sea. Our progress is stopped by the sea of wicked.
- Wind Blows. The Holy Spirit came at Pentecost. He is the wind that blows on the wicked, changing us.
- Fire Wall. The Holy Spirit prevents the full wrath of the wicked from consuming the righteous.
- Dry Land Opens. Eventually, dry land opens in the United States and the persecuted church flees.
It is interesting to note that the great civilizations in the American continent appeared mostly after the crucifixion.
- Persecution. Babylon the Great pursues the church into the raging sea when the restraints are removed.
- Sabbath. God reintroduces us to His Sabbath through the falling of the manna.
- Seven Last Plagues (Sea Wall Falls). They are engulfed by the plagues as the walls of the sea fall.
- Laws On Sinai. God will introduce us to His laws again as He comes in fire and earthquake.
- Sea of Glass. We cross over into heaven at the Second Coming.
The Curse Ends
The curse ends in stages when God tabernacles with us permanently.
- First Coming (Passover Crucifixion). Jesus nailed the curses to te cross. Humans are legally released from the curse because Jesus Christ endured it wrath for those who have faith in God, causing death to pass over us.
- Jesus Christ (Passover). He came to tabernacle with us for 33 years before dying on Passover.
It ended sacrifices of animals, circumcision, the Levitical priesthood and the legal rule of Satan. It inaugurated Jesus Christ as the permanent High Priest.
Satan loses his access to heaven as the curses are turned against him.
- Holy Spirit (Pentecost). 50 days after Jesus was resurrected, He came to tabernacle with us at Pentecost (Shavu'ot).
The people are now being perfected as the Holy Spirit tabernacles in their heart to write the law in our hearts.
» The Wicked. No separation occurs. God only seeks unity.
All are invited to escape the wrath coming on the earth.
- Second Coming (Rapture). In our new tabernacles (bodies) we go to tabernacle with God in heaven.
Humans are now God's ambassadors. The old order is removed from heaven and a new order is instituted.
We are physically released from the curse.
» The Wicked. They are separated from the righteous and killed.
The curse imprisons Satan and consumes the unrighteous and the planet for 1000 years.
- Third Coming (Tabernacles And A New Earth). The curse ends everywhere. The planet is released from the curse and the righteous inherit the earth. God restores all the blessings as we return to the original plans in Eden.
» The Wicked. They are resurrected for final judgment and destroyed forever.
Then the earth and their works will be burned up.
The earth will withstand the cleansing fire so that it can be renewed.
Deuteronomy 27: The Worst Sins
Specific behaviors are linked to the curse. Although all sins are condemned by the curse, yet God singles out specific actions that are designed to corrupt the innocent, the helpless and those in covenant and trust relationships.
This is what Satan did in Eden. He dishonored the name of God and corrupted Adam and Eve.
Rebellion Against Authority And Covenant Relationships.
Satan betrayed his position of trust at the side of God and rebelled against His kingdom, spreading lies and destroying the relationships between God and His other creatures.
- Idolatry (verse 15). Babylon the great forces idolatry on the world (Revelation 13: 14-15).
- Dishonors Parents (verse 16). Rebellion against a legitimate authority. Babylon the great blasphemes God.
- Incest or Sexual Perversion (verse 20-23). Babylon is the unrepentant prodigal son who is trying to take his father's kingdom by force, deflowering every virgin, prostitute, married woman and even the males in the kingdom. He uncovers the nakedness of Laodicea, rapes the virgin church and has an illicit affair with the whore church.
- Mother or Step-Mother (verse 20). The church is the bride of Christ, Babylon the great sins when it either rapes the church or has an illicit union with it.
- Animal (verse 21). Babylon rides a beast or joins itself to the beast with seven heads (Revelation 17: 1-3)
- Sister (verse 22). The daughters of the harlot church have an illicit union with Babylon.
- Mother-in-Law (verse 23).
Babylon commits adultery with the daughters of the harlot and with the harlot herself.
Babylon even tries to corrupt end time Israel. Israel is the mother of the final church. Babylon commits adultery with the church and then Israel, even sitting in Jerusalem at the end of time.
Satan is gathering ammunition with which he can accuse us. He is exposing our sin (nakedness) by exposing us to sin. On the great Day of Atonement, God warns us to be covered and do not remove the covering of others.
Abuse Of Trust And Authority: Corrupting The Innocent And Helpless.
Satan disguised himself so that he could trespass into the Garden of Eden.
In secret, he assaulted Eve with lies so that he could mislead and corrupt both Adam and Eve with lies to kidnap them and take away their inheritance.
- Misleads The Blind (verse 18). Babylon misleads Laodicea, the blind church, so they can be turned from the paths of righteousness.
- Injustice to the Alien, Fatherless and Widow (verse 19). Babylon misleads the church who is living as aliens and wanderers on the earth.
They are fatherless because they have been separated from God and they are widows because their husband was crucified.
- Assaults Neighbor In Secret (verse 24). The sin is hypocrisy and to strike at a friend from a position of trust while pretending to be a friend. They taunted and slapped Jesus asking Him to prophecy who had done it.
- Accepts A Bribe As A False Witness Against The Innocent (verse 25). Judas betrayed Christ for a bribe and Satan acts as our accusers.
- Disobedient Law Breakers (verse 26). This includes all who break the commandments and all sins. Babylon breaks and changes the laws.
Notice that the other sins that were emphasized centered around corrupting the innocent and stealth attacks and abuse of trust.
So it condemns pedophelia, rape, adultery, cruelty, ignoring parental authority, slavery by kidnapping, hypocrisy, betrayal and slander.
The curse did not emphasize murder or homosexuality or sins between consenting adults, although those sins are included in this provision.
- Trespasses Beyond The Boundary (verse 17). The beast was confined to the wicked in the sea but at the end of time it came on the land and stood on the seashore in pursuit of the righteous (Revelation 13: 1).
Through the church and state Babylon the great abused their position of authority.
It is also quite obvious that modern business practices, particularly those of financial institutions come under the condemnation of this abuse of trust and explains why the curse falls heavily on this class of sin at the end of time in Revelation 18.
Repetition and Enlargement: The Curse In Prophecy And History
The curses which originated in Eden and written in Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28 are the source of most of the images from prophecy.
So both prophecy and religious history can be seen as fulfillment of laws about the curses.
While both follow this pattern of curses, prophecy may simply focus on specific phases of history.
So all history is a fulfillment of the law and serve as warnings, but not all historical events are a prophecy.
- The Covenant With Israel (Daniel). The historical application of the curse on Israel. It ends with the death of their firstborn Messiah and His exodus and covenant with the Gentiles.
- The Image of Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 2). Israel served foreign gods of wood, stone and metal.
- Unclean Animals (Daniel 7). Israel is attacked and became food for wild beasts.
- Yom Kippur (Daniel 8). Their animals were taken away and the scapegoat escaped.
- The Prince of the Covenant (Daniel 9). Their children were taken away.
- War and Temple Desecrated (Daniel 11). It ends with the Antichrist occupying the temple.
For the Jews the incorruptible Christ Temple and the corrupted temple in Jerusalem were destroyed. For the Christians, the corrupt temple of the Antichrist is destroyed and the incorruptible church is rescued.
- The Covenant With the Gentiles (Revelation).
Christ died to reconcile the Jews and the Gentiles and He redeemed us from the curse of the law. So why are the prophecies about the church filled with the application of the curses?
Christ died to reconcile those who want reconciliation. When we disobey we are removing ourselves from His camp to the camp of the wicked where we immediately fall under the bondage of the curse.
- Seven Churches (Revelation 1-3). The church falls into apostasy and are cursed.
- Seven Seals (Revelation 4-6). The historical application of the curse on the church after Christ.
- Seven Trumpets (Revelation 7-9). Warning that the curses are being applied.
- The Remnant (Revelation 10-15). The faithful remnant are attacked.
- Seven Last Plagues (Revelation 16). The image of a corrupt sanctuary are combined with the curses to create a picture of judgment on the attempt to usurp the throne of God by establishing a false religious government. The wrath of God is applied.
- Desolation of the Wicked (Revelation 17-20). The wrath of the wicked is stopped by the final curse.
- Blessings (Revelation 21). God blesses the righteous and restores them.
