This story begins on the day they consecrated the sanctuary in the second year on Nisan 1.

The Nation of Priests
The nation of Israel was chosen to demonstrate the Plan of Salvation which shows the mercy of God. They were supposed to be a nation of priests to the world. Within their nation were a tribe of priests and the laws governing the interaction between the priests and the ordinary people is supposed to model the relationship between Israel and the world.
After the Second Coming, we will no longer be a tribe or a nation of priests. We will be a planet of priests, serving God and modeling the goodness of God to an entire universe.

• The Census of Israel (Chapter 1). On the way to the Promised Land we will encounter war. We need a census to evaluate our strength, manage our people and distribute our assets.
  The Number of Names. and they assembled all the congregation together on the first of the second month then they registered by ancestry in their families, by their fathers' households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, head by head. (Numbers 1: 18)
  • Men of War. Every male over twenty was counted.
    The Army of God. Then the LORD spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tent of meeting, on the first of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying, Take a census of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, by their families, by their fathers' households, according to the number of names, every male, head by head from twenty years old and upward, whoever is able to go out to war in Israel, you and Aaron shall number them by their armies. (Numbers 1: 1-3)
  • Heads of Household (Leaders). Moses also chose representatives from each tribe to form a leadership team with him.
    Leaders. With you, moreover, there shall be a man of each tribe, each one head of his father's household. (Numbers 1: 4)
  • Levites. They were not counted among Israel so they could not inherit. However, they were counted for service to God.
    Unnumbered. The Levites, however, were not numbered among them by their fathers' tribe. Only the tribe of Levi you shall not number, nor shall you take their census among the sons of Israel. (Numbers 1: 47, 49)
  • Other People. Women and all children under 20 were not numbered.
  
  » Purpose For A Census. Conducting a census was extremely important and the wrath of God could fall on the nation for an unauthorized census. So a census must be conducted at the right moment because its results are time sensitive and apply specifically to the generation that is being counted. Within one year the results will be invalid.
  » The Census of Israel.
  • Inheritance (20+ Years Old). The primary reason for the census was to distribute an inheritance to families. If this first generation had gone to the Promised Land then this first census would determine their inheritance. However, they sinned and wandered for forty years and the second generation had to be numbered again, because all the people in the first census had died. The only survivors who left Egypt were Joshua and Caleb who were counted in the first census, and those uncounted under twenty.
    » Those Not Numbered. There are certain advantages to being unnumbered. You inherit with the leader.
  • Army (20+ Years Old). The males above twenty automatically formed an army.
  • Judgment. The census numbered tribes and families and households. When the nation sinned, a lottery system was used to determine the guilty by choosing through three layers and then selecting the guilty person (Joshua 7: 14).
  
  » The Census of Levites. The Levites were the slaves of God.
  • Redemption (1+ Month Old). The Levites were counted for redeeming Israel and their animals.
  • Sanctuary Workers (30-50 Years Old). The Levites were counted for service to the sanctuary.
  • Sanctuary. They take care of the sanctuary and service it for its daily use. They also take it down and set it up when it is being carried.
    Service and Carry. But you shall appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all its furnishings and over all that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings, and they shall take care of it; they shall also camp around the tabernacle. So when the tabernacle is to set out, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle encamps, the Levites shall set it up.
    Death For The Unauthorized. But the layman who comes near shall be put to death. (Numbers 1: 50-51)
    Remember that the sanctuary is a symbol for the body of Christ. For the history of the church and for the crucifixion they performed their duties.
    • Carry Sanctuary. The Jews would carry the precious child and give birth to Him.
      » Transport. In Gethsemane, they bound Him and transported Him to the Sanhedrin for trial. This fulfilled the legal obligation to bind it and take the offering made in the field to the temple.
    • Carry Furniture. The Jews would care for and protect the valuables of the sanctuary because the Christians would not respect them.
      Ezekiel has a clear prophecy which shows that when the church was temporarily split into two branches, the Gentiles received the duties of Aaron's priesthood and the Jews received the duties of the Levites.
      • Aaron (Ark of the Covenant). The Gentiles now carried the terms of the New Covenant.
      • Levites (Sanctuary). The Jews maintained an uncorrupted knowledge of the sanctuary, laws and systems to restore to the entire church when the sanctuary is set up again and the furniture is uncovered and put in.
    • Camp Around The Sanctuary. Unwittingly, the Jews would protect uncorrupted knowledge about the Messiah. The prophecies they hold are superior to the ones used by Christians because they are not based on individual texts but on a system of related objects that not only show events in the life of Jesus, but a sequence of cohesive events.
      • The Twelve Tribes. This is the order of events in the last week of Jesus.
      • The Passover Seder. This is a detailed order of events on the last day of His life.
      • The Hebrew IVRI Script. It shows the ox who came from heaven to be crucified on an object shaped like the cross.
      • The Curse Falls On Christ. Jesus stood between God and man as a Priest so that the wrath would fall on Him first.
      • Torah Readings. Their daily readings around the feast times, show a definite link to the events at the crucifixion instead of the feast that they are celebrating. For example, the Passover readings talk about hiring false witnesses, perverting justice and not accepting bribes. This is not related to Passover but to the events that happened on one important Passover. Even though they were to be directly involved in the death of the Lamb of God, the laws of God were warning them to remain pure by giving true justice.
      » Sanhedrin. At the trial by the Sanhedrin they camped around Him. This was legal. It was the false testimony that was illegal.
    • Tear Down The Sanctuary. This prophesies that the Jews would tear down the sanctuary. They were responsible for the death of Christ. However, that was their responsibility under the law. It was the death penalty for the Gentiles and laymen who got involved.
    • Set Up The Sanctuary. This is a prophecy that the Jewish branch of the church would rebuild the sanctuary. They will embrace Christ at the end of time and lead the evangelistic efforts.
      In Ezekiel's prophecy about the fate of the two branches of Israel, the Christians take the duties of the priests and the Jews take the duties of the rest of the tribes of Levi. So even here, they get to reconstruct the sanctuary. However, the Christians portion of this reconstruction relates to duties these Levites could not perform. These are the restoration of the Ark of the Covenant, the inner veil, lighting the candle and setting out the bread and the Most Holy Place.
  • Protection. The Levites stood between God and the people, just like the high priest.
    Barrier. But the Levites shall camp around the tabernacle of the testimony, so that there will be no wrath on the congregation of the sons of Israel So the Levites shall keep charge of the tabernacle of the testimony." (Numbers 1: 53)
  At the end of time a final census of the planet will be taken. There will be 144,000 heads of households among the righteous, 12,000 from each tribe. There will be 666 among the wicked. They will also be counted by the "number of names".
  
  » The Cross: A Bird's Eye View Of The Camp.

  This was actually noticed by the rabbis and it is one of several examples of the shape of a cross associated with the sanctuary and its rituals. Since the census of the tribes were different, it meant that certain tribes could intrude on the space of the tribes in another direction if they spread out from side to side instead of from front (closer to the sanctuary) to back.
  At the beginning of the exodus, the total on the north and south are fairly equal and represent the arms of the cross. The total in the east is almost twice as much as the west (the top of the cross).
  There are other pictures of the shape of a cross in Judaism.
  • Tau (Sign, Seal, Covenant). The final letter tau.
  • Tefillin. The construction of the tefillin.
  • Sanctuary. The intersection of the carrying poles of the Ark and the incense altar.
  Others try to show the shape of the cross in the sanctuary by showing the three pieces of furniture in the Holy Place side by side. However the width of the sanctuary is the same in both rooms and with the dimensions of the furniture and their poles this arrangement may be impossible.
  
  
• Camping Arrangement (Chapter 2). This seemingly unimportant little chapter is a very detailed prophecy about the order of events in the final week in the life of Jesus Christ. When we combine the blessings of Jacob and Moses and the meaning of the names of each son, we get a prophecy about events that will happen to Jesus. However, these events are not in the order of birth. They are in the order of the camping arrangements and the marching order of the tribes.
  • Birth Order. The camping order is not related to birth.
  • The Final Week Of Jesus. The arrangement only finds meaning in the events of the last week in the life of Jesus.
  • Mothers. The order does not seem to be related to the mothers until you examine the real meaning of the prophecy specified in the order. The order is based on the children of the hated wife, then the concubines and then the beloved wife. This fact is not obvious in the graphical display, but the prophecy shows that the children of Rachel in the west were robbed of their blessings, like Joseph was robbed. So justice demanded that they receive it.
    So, the prophetic marching order is the same as their actual wanderings when they left Egypt. They started in the east and went south to Sinai, then went north west to Kadesh-Barnea where they were rejected then wandered north and went west to cross over the Jordan river into Jericho.

    This order also demonstrates what will happen to the covenant as it passes from the Jews to the Gentiles.
    • Judah and Benjamin. The two tribes that comprise the Jews are the first and last.
    • Jews and Gentiles. The priesthood passes from the rejected Israel to the Gentiles and back to a beloved Israel who are now a combination of Jews and Gentiles in the second generation.
    This pattern only emerges when you understand the prophecy about the twelve tribes as the final week in the life of Jesus.
  
  The Tribes Besiege The Sanctuary. The sons of Israel shall camp, each by his own standard, with the banners of their fathers' households; they shall camp around the tent of meeting at a distance. (Numbers 2: 2)
  • East. These are the events from His triumphal entry into Jerusalem until the Passover Seder.
  • South. These tribes show the affliction in the garden of Gethsemane.
  • West. These show the reproach He endured in an unjust trial and the blessings that He finally received.
  • North. These prophesy about the wrath of God falling on Jesus at His crucifixion, death and resurrection.

• Census and Duties of Priests (Chapter 3-4). The Levites were given to God in exchange for the people.
  Gifts For God. You shall thus give the Levites to Aaron and to his sons; they are wholly given to him from among the sons of Israel. Now, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the sons of Israel instead of every firstborn, the first issue of the womb among the sons of Israel. So the Levites shall be Mine. For all the firstborn are Mine; on the day that I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I sanctified to Myself all the firstborn in Israel, from man to beast. They shall be Mine; I am the LORD. (Numbers 3: 9, 12, 13)
  Adam and Eve were firstborn and the consequences of their sins were unfortunately inherited by their seed. So, the Plan of Salvation seems to be based on the redemption of firstborns. The redemption of individuals is based on the children who are born again through the Seed of the perfect firstborn.
  
  » Census For Redemption of the Firstborn. Two counts of males from one month old were taken. One count was of the firstborn males of Israel and one for the Levites and their cattle.
  Census: All Levite Males 1+ Month. Number the sons of Levi by their fathers' households, by their families; every male from a month old and upward you shall number. (Numbers 3: 15)
  Census: Firstborn Males of Israel 1+ Month. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Number every firstborn male of the sons of Israel from a month old and upward, and make a list of their names. (Numbers 3: 40)
  • Substitution. Jesus Christ was the priest who was substituted for Adam. Adam was the only firstborn male on this planet and he was the head of the household of all the nations on earth.
    Substitute. You shall take the Levites for Me, I am the LORD, instead of all the firstborn among the sons of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the cattle of the sons of Israel." Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the sons of Israel and the cattle of the Levites. And the Levites shall be Mine; I am the LORD. (Numbers 3: 41,45)
    » Substituted in Gethsemane. Jesus Christ was substituted for our sins. The exchange was made in Gethsemane when He stood between us and God by offering Himself to atone for us.
  • Ransom. If there were not enough Levites to substitute for Israel, the remaining must be ransomed for five shekels each.
    Ransom. For the ransom of the 273 of the firstborn of the sons of Israel who are in excess beyond the Levites, you shall take five shekels apiece, per head; you shall take them in terms of the shekel of the sanctuary (the shekel is twenty gerahs), and give the money, the ransom of those who are in excess among them, to Aaron and to his sons. (Numbers 3: 46-48)
    When Judas threw thirty shekels of silver on the ground for the priests, he was returning the bribe money. Since he illegally kidnapped Jesus, the money most likely belongs to Jesus who was sold into slavery for our sins. This is the ransom for six sons.
    » Ransomed On Calvary. Jesus Christ was ransomed for our sins. Since it is illogical for God to kidnap us, then hold us for ransom and then pay Himself, then the ransom was probably paid to the original kidnapper, Satan. If there is any excess, then how are they counted? In the design of the sanctuary six sons said the blessings and six said the curses. The thirty shekels may be the ransom for six sons who were cursed. So Jesus paid the ransom and took the curses.
  » Israel Ransomed A King. Jesus made the substitute for everyone in the Garden of Gethsemane with His blood. The sacrificial laws required the priests to offer sacrifices for themselves. Here, He even substituted Himself for us at the cross by submitting to Satan, giving His life as the price for our release from bondage. However, there was no substitute for Him. He must be bought with a price. The Passover Seder ritual includes a phase where the children hunt for the hidden Afikoman and then a king's ransom is paid for it. Jesus must be bought for a king's ransom and they undervalued Him. Since He was now Israel of the promise, the price was enough to pay for twelve sons, including one firstborn (Adam) and including Himself, a man from the tribe of Judah. Even as God and being perfect there could not possibly be a substitute for Him. He must be ransomed by money.

  » Mathematically. Jesus Christ was the only priest and could only substitute for one man. So He substituted for Adam and became the new Adam. Then He became Israel through whom the woman is born, the new Eve. This is why all who are saved will be born again and why the church has the female gender.
  Adam was probably the focus of the exchange because he sinned intentionally.
  So there was no need for a ransom because nothing was left over. So the ransom paid on calvary was because God was fulfilling every possible law to counter every possible spurious and desperate claim by Satan. So He needed to purchase us back from Satan for God with His life.
  Purchased For God. And they sang a new song saying "worthy are you to take the book and break the seals; for you were slain and purchased for God with your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation." (Revelation 5: 9)
  Purchased With Blood. ... the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. (Acts 20: 8)
  
  » Census For Duties. These duties predict how the priests would treat Jesus as He went from place to place around the city.
  Serving or Carrying. from thirty years and upward, even to fifty years old, all who enter the service to do the work in the tent of meeting. According to the commandment of the LORD through Moses, they were numbered, everyone by his serving or carrying; thus these were his numbered men, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. (Numbers 4: 3, 49)
  • Moses and Aaron (East). On the east, He was in the garden of Gethsemane acting as our High Priest and performing the duties related to the giving of the offering to God. So Jesus was the High Priest and the offering. Jerusalem was the sanctuary and the altar.
    Serving. Now those who were to camp before the tabernacle eastward, before the tent of meeting toward the sunrise, are Moses and Aaron and his sons, performing the duties of the sanctuary for the obligation of the sons of Israel; but the layman coming near was to be put to death. (Numbers 3: 38)
  • Kohath (South). When they arrested Jesus, the priests were taking the holy objects.
    Carrying Furniture. Now their duties involved the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, and the utensils of the sanctuary with which they minister, and the screen, and all the service concerning them; (Numbers 3: 31)
    He was the menorah and the light of the world. He was the broken bread and wine on the table of Shewbread. He was the Bread of the Presence, the Manna from heavn sent down to earth with the dew. He was the altar of incense, praying for the eradication of our sins. He was the laver of blood and water which washed away our sins and impurities. He was the altar of sacrifice and the Lamb who was sacrificed. He was the Ark of God, the bearer of the covenant of life between God and earth.
  • Gershon (West). His body is the veil between God and mankind.
    Carrying Fabrics. Now the duties of the sons of Gershon in the tent of meeting involved the tabernacle and the tent, its covering, and the screen for the doorway of the tent of meeting, and the hangings of the court, and the screen for the doorway of the court which is around the tabernacle and the altar, and its cords, according to all the service concerning them. (Numbers 3: 25-26)
  • Merari (North). He was the carcass that was thrown outside the city and burned in the north.
    Carrying Structure. Now the appointed duties of the sons of Merari involved the frames of the tabernacle, its bars, its pillars, its sockets, all its equipment, and the service concerning them, and the pillars around the court with their sockets and their pegs and their cords. (Numbers 3: 36-37)
• Various Laws Governing The Unfaithful (Chapter 5).
  • Defiled Person. After Jesus confirmed that Judas was the one to betray Him, He sent him away.
    Banish the Unclean. Command the sons of Israel that they send away from the camp every leper and everyone having a discharge and everyone who is unclean because of a dead person. (Numbers 5: 2)
    Possessed By An Unclean Spirit. After the morsel, Satan then entered into him, therefore Jesus said to him, "What you do, do quickly." So after receiving the morsel he went out immediately, and it was night. (John 13: 27, 30)
    
    The Sinner Is Unclean. Jesus said to him, "He who has bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean, and you are clean but not all of you/" For He knew the one who was betraying Him, for this reason He said, "Not all of you are clean". (John 13: 10-11)
    According to Jesus sin makes us unclean and Satan makes us unclean.
    
    Defiled From Evil Desires. Why do Your disciples break the traditions of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread. It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth that defiles the man. But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornicatioins, false witnesses, slanders. These are the things which defile the man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man. (Matthew 15: 2, 11, 18-20)
  • Sin And Restitution. Those who act unfaithfully against the Lord shall make restitution and add 20% to the original value.
    Judas acted unfaithfully to Jesus and realized that He was wrong. So he returned the thirty shekels of silver that he was paid for a bribe and threw it on the floor of the sanctuary.
    The Unfaithful Friend. Speak to the sons of Israel, when a man or a woman commits any of the sins of mankind, acting unfaithfully against the Lord, and that person is guilty, then he shall confess his sins which he has committed, and he shall make restitution in full for his wrong and add to it one-fifth of it, and give it to him whom he has wronged. (Numbers 5: 6-7)
    However, he did not make full restitution. He should have added one-fifth and returned 36 shekels. He should have returned the money to Jesus or Mary, not to the priests. By the time remorse took over, the trouble he had caused was far beyond the bribe. Jesus was sentenced to death on a series of actions of men willing to commit sin for personal gain. He could not undo what was done. It was virtually impossible to pay restitution.
    Instead of publicly confessing what He had done and what the priests were doing, he privately tried to undo the damage without tarnishing his reputation. When that failed, the coward killed himself, without making a real attempt to mitigate the damage and free Jesus.
  • Gifts For The Priest. All contributions and gifts for God belong to the priest.
    Judas sold Jesus to the priests and returned the bribe to the priests.
  • Unfaithful Woman and The Spirit of Jealousy. Israel was the wife who went astray.
    When a man suspects a woman of unfaithfulness, this is the procedure to determine her guilt.
    The Curse For Adultery. then the priest shall have the woman swear with the oath of the curse, and the priest shall say to the woman), "the LORD make you a curse and an oath among your people by the LORD'S making your thigh waste away and your abdomen swell; and this water that brings a curse shall go into your stomach, and make your abdomen swell and your thigh waste away." And the woman shall say, "Amen. Amen." The priest shall then write these curses on a scroll, and he shall wash them off into the water of bitterness. Then he shall make the woman drink the water of bitterness that brings a curse, so that the water which brings a curse will go into her and cause bitterness. (Numbers 5: 21-24)
    This strange law reaches back to Adam and Eve, even though it could be applied to Israel and to Jesus.
    • Unfaithful Woman. Eve was the unfaithful woman who listened to the serpent.
      Israel was the unfaithful nation who committed adultery with Rome.
    • Woman Agrees to The Curses. In Genesis 3, God announced the curses and they agreed to it.
    • Curses Written on A Scroll. The curses were written on a scroll at Mount Sinai.
    • Bitter Waters. The words were washed into the waters of bitterness that drowned Christ.
    • Grain Offering of Jealousy. The woman brought a wave offering when Jesus was lifted up on Mount Calvary with His arms stretched like wings.
      The Woman Brings Her Offering. The priest shall take the grain offering of jealousy from the woman's hand, and he shall wave the grain offering before the LORD and bring it to the altar; and the priest shall take a handful of the grain offering as its memorial offering and offer it up in smoke on the altar, and afterward he shall make the woman drink the water. When he has made her drink the water, then it shall come about, if she has defiled herself and has been unfaithful to her husband, that the water which brings a curse will go into her and cause bitterness, and her abdomen will swell and her thigh will waste away, and the woman will become a curse among her people. But if the woman has not defiled herself and is clean, she will then be free and conceive children. (Numbers 5: 25-28)
    • The Woman Drinks the Bitter Water. Israel drank the curse and the bitter waters in 70 AD with the destruction of the temple and in 136 AD with their banishment from Jerusalem.
      Jesus drank the bitter waters when He suffered all the curses written in the scroll.
    • Guilty: Abdomen Swells and Thigh Wastes Away. His chest swelled with a pool of blood and water and His thighs became weary from the sitting and standing required to get air into His lungs while He was nailed.
      Israel kept giving birth to the wind. For the next 2000 years every hope of a Messiah failed.
    • Guilty: Woman Becomes A Curse. Israel became a curse to the world, and the Christians made sure that enough of Israel survived as a people to show their cursed state.
    • Innocent: Woman Can Conceive. At some point in the future, a generation of Israel can say that they were innocent of killing Jesus and then Israel can conceive again.
    
    Israel Stands Before The Lord. This is the law of jealousy: when a wife, being under the authority of her husband, goes astray and defiles herself, or when a spirit of jealousy comes over a man and he is jealous of his wife, he shall then make the woman stand before the LORD, and the priest shall apply all this law to her. Moreover, the man will be free from guilt, but that woman shall bear her guilt.' (Numbers 5: 29-31)
• Nazarite Vow (Chapter 6). He made the very special vow of separation during the Passover meal and He dedicated Himself to God. The period of separation would last between Gethsemane and the resurrection. The height of this separation would be felt during the three hours of darkness on the cross. This would be the last and best opportunity for Satan to make Him sin and derail the Plan of Salvation. So, to keep Himself totally from sin, He must completely dedicate Himself to God.
  A Difficult Vow. Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, 'When a man or woman makes a special vow, the vow of a Nazarite, to dedicate himself to the LORD, He shall not make himself unclean for his father or for his mother, for his brother or for his sister, when they die, because his separation to God is on his head. (Numbers 6: 2, 7)
  • No Wine or Grape Products. After drinking the second cup of the Passover, He did not drink any more and will not drink it again until the Second Coming.
    No Grape Products. he shall abstain from wine and strong drink; he shall drink no vinegar, whether made from wine or strong drink, nor shall he drink any grape juice nor eat fresh or dried grapes. All the days of his separation he shall not eat anything that is produced by the grape vine, from the seeds even to the skin. (Numbers 6: 3-4)
    So Jesus made the Nazarite vow during Passover and He went to Gethsemane to keep the vow. He must keep away from strong drink so that He will not be deceived through the lowering of His inhibitions. He must not drink blood so that He will not be cut off.
    Before they nailed Him, they tried to give Him wine mixed with myrrh but He did not drink it (Mark 15: 23-24). Then He drank sour wine just before He died, so the vow must have been completed by then (John 19: 28-30).
  • No Razor. He did not shave as far as we know, but He had the symbol of a bald spot. The crown of thorns on His head looks like frizzy hair with a bald spot.
    Long Hair. All the days of his vow of separation no razor shall pass over his head. He shall be holy until the days are fulfilled for which he separated himself to the LORD; he shall let the locks of hair on his head grow long. (Numbers 6: 5)
  • No Dead. He died and He was among at least two crucified men who also died, but He did not touch them as far as we know. But since He died and was buried with the dead He might have been defiled by the dead, except for the fact that we know He was buried in a new grave where no dead person had never been before.
    Dead. All the days of his separation to the LORD he shall not go near to a dead person. (Numbers 6: 6)
  • Sudden Death. He died before the thieves on either side, so nobody died suddenly beside Him.
    Accidentally Defiled by The Dead. But if a man dies very suddenly beside him and he defiles his dedicated head of hair, then he shall shave his head on the day when he becomes clean; he shall shave it on the seventh day. Then on the eighth day he shall bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest, to the doorway of the tent of meeting. The priest shall offer one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering, and make atonement for him concerning his sin because of the dead person.
    Consecrated Head. And that same day he shall consecrate his head. and shall dedicate to the Lord his days as a Nazarite, and shall bring a male lamb a year old for a guilt offering; but the former days will be void because his separation was defiled. (Numbers 6: 9-12)
  
  » The Separation is Complete. When the period of separation is complete then he does the following which seems to be fulfilled by Jesus on three occasions. The period of separation ended after leaving Gethsemane and after the resurrection and then at the Second Coming.
  The Offerings. Now this is the law of the Nazarite when the days of his separation are fulfilled, he shall bring the offering to the doorway of the tent of meeting. He shall present his offering to the LORD: one male lamb a year old without defect for a burnt offering and one ewe-lamb a year old without defect for a sin offering and one ram without defect for a peace offering. (Numbers 6: 13-14)
  He made a difficult vow of separation between Gethsemane and His death.
  • Doorway of the Tent of Meeting. The priests took Him from Gethsemane and brought Him to the door of the Sanhedrin.
  • Basket of Unleavened Cakes. He was the bread with oil in a basket full of Jews who had prepared for the Passover by removing leaven from their houses. Since leaven represents sin and pride in particular, He was the only sinless one among the basket full of bread in Jerusalem.
  • Peace Offering. His offering made peace between God and man.
  • Shave His Head. The crown of thorns made Him look like a man with the top of His head shaved.
  • Wave Offering. The shoulder, breast and thigh offering lifted up and waving was His body on the cross with His arms stretched out like wings and lifted up like a bird.
  • The Blessing. We received the blessing when He completed His difficult vow.
    Israel is Blessed. Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, "Thus you shall bless the sons of Israel. You shall say to them:"
    The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious yo you. The Lord lift up His countenance on you and give you peace."
    So you shall invoke My name on the sons of Israel, and I will bless them. (Numbers 6: 23-27)
  After the resurrection, He went to heaven for seven days and probably completed the vow of separation in that week. He went to the doorway of heaven, bringing the offerings with a basket full of people who were raised from the dead.
  After the Second Coming, He will present a planet full of people, some raised from the dead, to the gates of heaven. There we will be a wave offering with palm branches in our hands. Then He will eat the fruit of the vine and complete the Passover with us.
  
  » The Vow That Separated Him From Heaven. We know that He actually made the difficult vow of separation when He became incarnated and was born as a baby and this vow will continue until after the Second Coming. The problem is that as an observant Jew He would have participated in about 33 Passovers and would have eaten grape products, ending the vow. So if we look at this from a spiritual and cosmic level, we can see the defilement that He must avoid was the curse. He must carry our sins and take our curses without being defiled by them.
  • No Wine (No Blood). He was not a cannibal who drank blood as Satan wanted. He gave blood.
  • No Dead (Life). He came in contact with those who were asleep, not those who had the second death. He resurrected the sleeping dead when He came near them.
  • Separation On His Head. Like the scapegoat who has the sins said over his head, Jesus had the world set on His heart and head. So He set His mind like a flint and did the will of God. At the very core of His sufferring was this mental torture that could have easily defeated Him.
  • No Razor, Long Hair (No Reaping). Hair growing on the head is like grass or trees growing on the bald earth. So the hair from a righteous head are the people born of righteous throughts and motives. He will not cut His hair or reap the field of righteous until the days of separation are over. So when the hairs on His head are numbered, it is the number of the righteous. Everyone who turns to Him and comes out of Him will be saved.
  • Shave His Head. This is the reaping of the righteous.
  • The Dedicated Hair. This is the nation of priests who are the glory of God.
  • The Glory of The Man. Now we see a direct connection between hair and the glory of God. Since the righteous are symbolized as female, the hair of the woman is seen as the glory of the Man.
• Leaders Consecrate Sanctuary (Chapter 7). On the day the sanctuary was consecrated, the leaders of the twelve tribes brought an offering to dedicate the altar. It took twelve days to bring the dedication offerings.
  • The Leaders of Israel. Jesus was the High Priest who had finished setting up the tabernacle and reading the covenant. He had been anointed by the Holy Spirit and dedicated to God through an unbreakable vow. The priests and the Sanhedrin examined Jesus and sent Him to death. This is the jobs they were required by law to do to the offering.
    Setting Up The Tabernacle. Now on the day that Moses had finished setting up the tabernacle, he anointed it and consecrated it with all its furnishings and the altar and all its utensils; he anointed them and consecrated them also. Then the leaders of Israel, the heads of their fathers' households, made an offering (they were the leaders of the tribes; they were the ones who were over the numbered men). (Numbers 7: 1-2)
  • The Offerings. The leaders brought animals for sacrificing and vehicles to carry the load.
    Carts and Oxen. When they brought their offering before the LORD, six covered carts and twelve oxen, a cart for every two of the leaders and an ox for each one, then they presented them before the tabernacle. The leaders offered the dedication offering for the altar when it was anointed, so the leaders offered their offering before the altar. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Let them present their offering, one leader each day, for the dedication of the altar." (Numbers 7: 3, 10, 11)
  • Gifts for Carrying The Sanctuary. The offerings were given as a gift to the Levites who carried the tabernacle.
    Gershon (2 Carts and 4 Oxen). Two carts and four oxen he gave to the sons of Gershon, according to their service,
    Merari (4 Carts and 8 Oxen). and four carts and eight oxen he gave to the sons of Merari, according to their service, under the direction of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
    Kohath (Shoulders). But he did not give any to the sons of Kohath because theirs was the service of the holy objects, which they carried on the shoulder. (Numbers 7: 7-9)
    Simon of Cyrene was the ox given to Jesus to help Him carry His load.
    Jesus was also Kohath, carrying the load on His shoulders. He was also symbolized as a donkey carrying the load on His back. So He was also the vehicles carrying the load on His back, His head and His heart.
  • The Dedication Offering For the Altar. The leaders presented the same offerings each one in the order that the tribes camped around the sanctuary.
    Total Contributions. This was the dedication offering for the altar from the leaders of Israel when it was anointed: twelve silver dishes, twelve silver bowls, twelve gold pans, each silver dish weighing one hundred and thirty shekels and each bowl seventy; all the silver of the utensils was 2,400 shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary; the twelve gold pans, full of incense, weighing ten shekels apiece, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, all the gold of the pans 120 shekels; all the oxen for the burnt offering twelve bulls, all the rams twelve, the male lambs one year old with their grain offering twelve, and the male goats for a sin offering twelve; and all the oxen for the sacrifice of peace offerings 24 bulls, all the rams 60, the male goats 60, the male lambs one year old 60. This was the dedication offering for the altar after it was anointed. (Numbers 7: 84-88)
• The Priest is A Lamp (Chapter 8). The High Priest is a light that will be hammered and forged in a crucible, then given to God as a gift to substitute for our sins.
  • Hammered Gold. Jesus is the lamp and the light, severely beaten by the Romans. He was forged from beaten gold, mounted high on a cross and filled with the oil of the Holy Spirit.
    The Light Of The World. Speak to Aaron and say to him, 'When you mount the lamps, the seven lamps will give light in the front of the lampstand.'
    Beaten Work. Now this was the workmanship of the lampstand, hammered work of gold; from its base to its flowers it was hammered work; according to the pattern which the LORD had shown Moses, so he made the lampstand. (Numbers 8: 2, 4)
    The menorah is designed like a burning almond tree. Nailed on the cross, Jesus was that burning Branch from the Tree of Life.
  • Offered to God. The priests must be cleansed and then presented to God.
    Cleansing. Thus you shall do to them, for their cleansing: sprinkle purifying water on them, and let them use a razor over their whole body and wash their clothes, and they will be clean. Aaron then shall present the Levites before the LORD as a wave offering from the sons of Israel, that they may qualify to perform the service of the LORD. (Numbers 8: 7, 11)
    • Purifying Water. He was washed with the Holy Spirit.
    • Razor (Shaved Clean). He was naked and alone. His clothes were taken and His loved ones ran away.
    • Wash Clothes. He was clean or righteous.
    • Wave Offering. Displayed lifted up with His arms stretched out, He was the High Priest who was the wave offering.
  • Substitute. God will accept the priest instead of the sinner.
    Priest. But I have taken the Levites instead of every firstborn among the sons of Israel. (Numbers 8: 18)
  • Gift. God gave the priest as the gift that we give back to Him. This is why a proper understanding of tithing is important. The Gift to God is a Gift from God.
    Gift of God. I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the sons of Israel, to perform the service of the sons of Israel at the tent of meeting and to make atonement on behalf of the sons of Israel, so that there will be no plague among the sons of Israel by their coming near to the sanctuary." (Numbers 8: 19)
• The Second Passover (Chapter 9). The New Testament says that Jesus is the Lamb who was slain from the foundation of the earth. So, when He died on the cross, this was essentially His second Passover and the rules in this chapter apply to His unique status.
  • The Weary Traveler. These laws allow a certain amount of unavoidable uncleanness that is not related to the righteousness or devout nature of the person who wants to participate in the Passover.
    Keeping Passover. Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, 'If any one of you or of your generations becomes unclean because of a dead person, or is on a distant journey, he may, however, observe the Passover to the LORD. (Numbers 9: 10)
    • Unclean by the Dead. We are the planet of walking dead who made Him unclean with our sins.
    • On A Distant Journey. He is on a far journey from heaven.
    Even if His own dead body symbolically made Him unclean, this law allows Him to participate in the Passover. Otherwise, the Passover Lamb would be automatically disqualified by the nature of the task He had to perform.
  • The Passover Guest. He was the special meal at this final Passover.
    Passover. In the second month on the fourteenth day at twilight, they shall observe it; they shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. (Numbers 9: 11)
    • Unleavened Bread. He ate the Passover without any sin in His body.
    • Bitter Herbs. He observed the Passover under the most cruelest of conditions.
  • No Broken Bones. He was not left on the cross until the next day because He died that day. None of His bones were broken as was the custom to hasten death.
    Not Broken. They shall leave none of it until morning, nor break a bone of it; according to all the statute of the Passover they shall observe it. (Numbers 9: 12)
  • The Cloud Over the People. He left the earth in a cloud and the disciples followed with a new church.
    Cloud Lifted Up. Whether it was two days or a month or a year that the cloud lingered over the tabernacle, staying above it, the sons of Israel remained camped and did not set out; but when it was lifted, they did set out. (Numbers 9: 22)

Traitors Among Us
On the way to the Promised Land many people arise to challenge the authority of Moses while the whole congregation grumbled and complained at every little inconvenience.

• Dismantling the Sanctuary (Chapter 10). The rules about the dismantling and moving of the sanctuary applied to Jesus, because He was the sanctuary that would be torn down and raised up in three days.
  • Cloud. When the cloud moved it was a signal to the people that they should start walking to a new location
    20 Iyar Year 2. Now in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth of the month, the cloud was lifted from over the tabernacle of the testimony. (Numbers 10: 11)
  • Two Silver Trumpets. Two trumpets were used to signal the transition from one phase to another. When Jesus was on trial, the crowing cocks were the trumpets.
    Church Bells. Make yourself two trumpets of silver, of hammered work you shall make them; and you shall use them for summoning the congregation and for having the camps set out. (Numbers 10: 2)
    • One Trumpet. It summons the leaders of the heads of households to gather with Moses.
    • Two Trumpets. It summons the congregation to gather at the tent of the meeting. So when the people gathered at the Sanhedrin for the trial, Peter had betrayed Him three times.
    • Alarm. The camps of Judah and then Reuben set out with each alarm.
  • Judah (First Alarm). Jesus was the leader from the tribe of Judah who set out on a journey to bear the burdens of our sins in the tent of a human. He began His journey in the east in the garden of Gethsemane.
    . But when you blow an alarm, the camps that are pitched on the east side shall set out. (Numbers 10: 5)
  • Gershon and Merari Carry the Tabernacle. The fabric was a symbol of His skin or outer covering. The boards and columns were the structure of His body, the bones and internal framework.
    The Cock Crows. Then the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, who were carrying the tabernacle, set out. (Numbers 10: 17)
    The priests and leaders took Jesus and carried His body tied with ropes to the Sanhedrin which acted like the tent of meeting.
  • Reuben (Second Alarm). Peter was the first disciple who lost preeminence. He denied Jesus three times by the time the second alarm sounded (Mark 14: 72).
    The Cock Crows Again. When you blow an alarm the second time, the camps that are pitched on the south side shall set out; an alarm is to be blown for them to set out. (Numbers 10: 6)
  • Kohath Carries the Furniture. Removing the furniture from the sanctuary is similar to disemboweling the offering. The priests disemboweled Jesus during the heart breaking trial when they all turned on Him and lied to get the results that they wanted.
    The Furniture. Then the Kohathites set out, carrying the holy objects; and the tabernacle was set up before their arrival. (Numbers 10: 21)
    The tabernacle was set up by the time the people came to Calvary. Jesus was nailed to the cross and lifted up.
  • Ephraim (Blessings Denied). He was fruitless, forgotten and the son of sorrows after the trials were over.
  • Dan. He suffered the wrath, enduring crucifixion, death and resurrection.
  • Invitation to The Midianite. The Gentiles who were part of a priesthood were invited to assist the Jews during the mission in the wilderness. They have the experience and they could be additional watchmen. They would receive the blessings with Israel.
    Gentile Partners. Then he said, "Please do not leave us, inasmuch as you know where we should camp in the wilderness, and you will be as eyes for us. So it will be, if you go with us, that whatever good the LORD does for us, we will do for you. (Numbers 10: 31-32)
    The Romans were invited to participate and help them.
  • Three Days In The Bowels. When Jesus said that He was the sanctuary that would be torn down and rebuilt in three days, He was referring to this event. During these three days, Jesus found a place and time when we could rest from sin forever. He was the High Priest and the ark and the covenant.
    Three Days. Thus they set out from the mount of the LORD three days' journey, with the ark of the covenant of the LORD journeying in front of them for the three days, to seek out a resting place for them. (Numbers 10: 33)
    They set out from the upper room and three days later He had given us rest from sin.
  • The Cloud Rises. He was raised up.
    Rise Up!. Then it came about when the ark set out that Moses said, Rise up, O LORD! And let Your enemies be scattered, And let those who hate You flee before You. (Numbers 10: 35)
    Everybody scattered! His friends left and His enemies came near after He got up for the seder and came to Gethsemane. However, at the resurrection, the Roman guards fell like dead men before Him.
  • The Cloud Rests. At the Second Coming, Jesus will return in a cloud to rescue all of Israel, the living and the dead to give us rest forever.
    Rest. When it came to rest, he said, Return, O LORD, To the myriad thousands of Israel. (Numbers 10: 36)
• The Greedy People (Chapter 11). It never ceases to amaze me how the people could show such disrespect for God while He was visibly showing His awesome presence and care for them. This time they were complaining about the food prepared by God just for them. They were tired of manna. They wanted meat. They longed for the french fries, hydrogenated fats, cola, hamburgers and pizza in Egypt.
  Jesus Christ said that we must "eat His body and drink His blood" to have eternal life. However, He gave us bread and wine instead of meat and blood to fulfill this requirement. When the people rejected the manna and begged for meat they were choosing the cannibalism that Satan hoped would really happen to Jesus. In the lesson on the Psalms, we showed how the people acted like greedy beasts at the feasts. They tore into the flesh of the Messiah by spitting, biting, snapping and chewing on Him as He suffered.
  • Fire. God had tried Him in Gethsemane on the outskirts of Jerusalem. Then, they roasted Him in a fiery trial.
    Fire on the Edges of Jerusalem. Now the people became like those who complain of adversity in the hearing of the LORD; and when the LORD heard it, His anger was kindled, and the fire of the LORD burned among them and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp. So the name of that place was called Taberah, because the fire of the LORD burned among them. (Numbers 11: 1,3)
  • Meat. Then they asked for the roasted meat. In the offerings, only the blood was taken inside the tent to atone for sin. The priests and the people ate the meat. That part of the offering is symbolized by what happened at the crucifixion. At the cross they were symbolically eating raw meat like wild beasts.
    Unhealthy Desires. The rabble who were among them had greedy desires; and also the sons of Israel wept again and said, "Who will give us meat to eat? We remember the fish which we used to eat free in Egypt, the cucumbers and the melons and the leeks and the onions and the garlic. (Numbers 11: 4-5)
  • The Bread of Heaven. Jesus was the Manna from heaven that they rejected as they looked up at Him on the cross. They did not want Him.
    Looking at The Manna. but now our appetite is gone. There is nothing at all to look at except this manna." (Numbers 11: 6)
  • Two Days. They had this meat for two days. On the day of the crucifixion they spit on Him and chewed on Him with foul insults. Then on the next day He was swallowed up into the grave and into their belly.
    Eating Meat. Now there went forth a wind from the LORD and it brought quail from the sea, and let them fall beside the camp, about a day's journey on this side and a day's journey on the other side, all around the camp and about two cubits deep on the surface of the ground. (Numbers 11: 31)
  • Severe Plague. While they were insulting Him and gnashing at Him with their teeth, the plagues came.
    Punished. While the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD struck the people with a very severe plague. (Numbers 11: 33)
    However, something marvelous happened. As the priest, lifted up and standing between the people and God, He took the plagues that they deserved. Jesus suffered all the plagues written in the curses and He endured the seven last plagues reserved for the wicked. He took their plagues in the past and He took our plagues in the future.
• Miriam's Leprosy (Chapter 12). Miriam and Aaron were jealous of Moses although they were also exalted in the eyes of the people. Although Aaron was just as guilty, he was not punished. This is because the priesthood is still active while the Jews are in exile and the Christians are in the dominant position. According to Ezekiel's prophecy, the Jews and the Gentiles still have a branch of the priesthood with them just as the Levites were scattered throughout the tribes.
  • Miriam. This woman is a symbol of Israel, banished for a period for disrespecting the Lord and criticizing His "wife". She was the sister who cared for her baby brother while he was set adrift on the Nile. Israel also cared for Jesus while He was adrift among humanity.
  • Criticizing the Gentiles. Moses had married a Gentile woman just as Jesus was now married to the Gentiles.
    Criticism. Then Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married (for he had married a Cushite woman); and they said, "Has the LORD indeed spoken only through Moses? Has He not spoken through us as well?" And the LORD heard it. (Numbers 12: 1-2)
  • Leprosy. She was separated from the rest of the camp. This symbol accurately reflects the relationship between the Jews and Gentiles for the last 2000 years.
    White All Over. So the anger of the LORD burned against them and He departed. But when the cloud had withdrawn from over the tent, behold, Miriam was leprous, as white as snow. As Aaron turned toward Miriam, behold, she was leprous. (Numbers 12: 9-10)
    According to the rules of leprosy, she was in the final stages that required only seven more days of quarantine and she would be clean after this.
  • Seven Days. Israel will be banished for seven periods of time and be returned at the end of time when the two branches of the church are reunited.
    Banished. But the LORD said to Moses, "If her father had but spit in her face, would she not bear her shame for seven days? Let her be shut up for seven days outside the camp, and afterward she may be received again." So Miriam was shut up outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on until Miriam was received again. (Numbers 12: 14-15)
• Twelve Spies (Chapter 13-14). The twelve disciples that Jesus worked with are like the twelve spies sent out to survey the land and report to the people. Their sin was that they discouraged the people and did not trust the Lord who had been accompanying them with huge signs and wonders.
  The Spies. Send out for yourself men so that they may spy out the land of Canaan, which I am going to give to the sons of Israel; you shall send a man from each of their fathers' tribes, every one a leader among them."
  A Bad Report. So they gave out to the sons of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, "The land through which we have gone, in spying it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants; and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great size. (Numbers 13: 2, 32)
  All the disciples and the priests made the same mistake at the ten unfaithful spies. They saw the difficulty of the situation and acted like cowards.
  • Land Devours Inhabitants. The land swallowed up Jesus into the grave.
  • Giants. They were more afraid of the reaction of the Romans than they were impressed by the miracles.
  
  Spurned. The LORD said to Moses, "How long will this people spurn Me? And how long will they not believe in Me, despite all the signs which I have performed in their midst? (Numbers 14: 11)
  In the end, they all spurned Jesus and nobody displayed any courage.
  • Spurned The Lord. Israel spurned Jesus despite all the signs.
  • Unbelief. They did not believe Him even though He proved His case form the word of God and from the signs He was able to perform.
  • All The Signs. For three years He worked miracles among them. Then they had evidence of the resurrection on the day of the crucifixion and on the day of His resurrection.
  
  » The Wrath of God. God punished them.
  • A New Start. God made an offer to Moses that He did with Noah. He will reject these people and start over again with the children of Moses. But Moses rejected the offer and defended them by appealing to the damage this action would do to the reputation of God..
    Reject Israel. I will smite them with pestilence and dispossess them,
    Start Over. and I will make you into a nation greater and mightier than they. (Numbers 14: 12)
    
    Damaged Reputation. Now if You slay this people as one man, then the nations who have heard of Your fame will say, because the Lord could not bring this people into the land which He promised them by oath, therefore He slaughtered them in the wilderness. (Numbers 14: 15-16)
    In a sense Jesus did what Moses did by standing between God and the people to advocate for them.
    Yet God also did what He said.
    God waited for them to repent and then He made them perish on schedule at the hands of the Romans.
    He also started over with Christ. He will save those who are born again through the seed of Jesus Christ.
  • Between the Third and Fourth Generation. He did not slaughter them immediately. The first generation over twenty years old perished in the wilderness after forty years.
    Mercy and Judgment. The LORD is slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generations. (Numbers 14: 18)
    After forty years, God destroyed His enemies who crucified Christ during the third and fourth generation in 70 AD. The Roman legion, the Sanhedrin and the family of the high priest and many people were destroyed in 70 AD. They went into bed with Rome and Rome destroyed them. Then God destroyed the Roman legion in 79 AD and burned Rome a few years later.
  
  » The Stubborn People Rebel. While admitting that they had sinned, the people could not accept the fact that they were being punished by God, so they rebelled on top of the rebellion that caused this.
  • Self Help. They try to take the land by themselves, thoroughly spurning God again.
    We Know That We Are Wrong! In the morning, however, they rose up early and went up to the ridge of the hill country, saying, "Here we are; we have indeed sinned, but we will go up to the place which the LORD has promised." (Numbers 14: 40)
  • Warning. Moses warned them about being rebellious again.
    Are You That Stupid?. But Moses said, "Why then are you transgressing the commandment of the LORD, when it will not succeed? Do not go up, or you will be struck down before your enemies, for the LORD is not among you. (Numbers 14: 41-42)
  • Destruction From Above. They were destroyed from above just as the wicked will be destroyed by hail.
    From the Hill Country. Then the Amalekites and the Canaanites who lived in that hill country came down, and struck them and beat them down as far as Hormah. (Numbers 14: 45)
  Their punishment is a prophecy about how the wicked will respond when they learn that they will not enter the Promised Land. Feeling invincible with Satan and all the military geniuses and all their modern weapons, they will try to take heaven by force and fire and brimstone will destroy them.
• Offerings on the Day We Possess The Land (Chapter 15). As soon as He went to Gethsemane, He had officially entered the land to possess it.
  • The Offerings in The Land. He made the offerings in Gethsemane in the appointed time at Passover.
    Several Offerings. Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, 'When you enter the land where you are to live, which I am giving you, then make an offering by fire to the LORD, a burnt offering or a sacrifice to fulfill a special vow, or as a freewill offering or in your appointed times, to make a soothing aroma to the LORD, from the herd or from the flock. The one who presents his offering shall present to the LORD a grain offering of one-tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with one-fourth of a hin of oil, and you shall prepare wine for the drink offering, one-fourth of a hin, with the burnt offering or for the sacrifice, for each lamb. (Numbers 15: 2-5)
    • Burnt Offering. He was the burnt offering from the herd and the flock.
    • A Special Vow. He completed a very special and difficult vow to pay for our sins.
    • A Freewill Offering. He gave Himself freely and willingly.
    • A Grain Offering. He was the Seed mixed with oil that was planted which now bears fruit.
    • Wine. Blood poured out on the ground from His pores.
  • The Food of The Land. He was the Passover food they ate and the offering they lifted up.
    The Bread From Israel. Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, 'When you enter the land where I bring you, then it shall be, that when you eat of the food of the land, you shall lift up an offering to the LORD. (Numbers 15: 18-19)
  • Gathering Wood On The Day of Rest. Jesus gathered wood on the preparation day when He carried the cross. Although it was the preparation day, it was the day He began to give us rest from sin. However, He was taken outside the city and stoned with insults as if He was a Sabbath breaker.
    Sabbath Breaking. Now while the sons of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day. Then the LORD said to Moses, "The man shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp." (Numbers 15: 32, 35)
  • Faithfulness in The Land. The final verses are part of the SHEMA said by Jews as a daily prayer. The four corners of the garment is a symbol of the four corners of the land. We promise to be faithful in the land by remembering the law so that we do not become adulterers and make our garments of righteousness unclean.
    A Memory Aid. Speak to the sons of Israel, and tell them that they shall make for themselves tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and that they shall put on the tassel of each corner a cord of blue.
    Remember the Law. It shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the LORD, so as to do them and not follow after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you played the harlot, so that you may remember to do all My commandments and be holy to your God.
    Taken Out of Bondage. I am the LORD your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt to be your God; I am the LORD your God." (Numbers 15: 38-41)
    • Scarlet Cord. A scarlet cord is seen in several symbols that suggest the blood of Christ.
    • Blue Cord. For the first and only time we see a blue cord. Blue is the color of the stone on which the Ten Commandments were written. This is why it reminds them of the laws.
      So, if scarlet is a stream of blood, then a blue cord must be a stream of water.
      So there are four streams of water, one at each corner surrounding us like the Red Sea, the Jordan river, baptism and the Sea of Glass. These are all the bodies of water we must pass through to be clean. This water will wash us clean so that we can keep the law.
    • Eternal Life. The key to eternity is to remember the law and escape the bondage of sin.
      The Key to Long Life. So you shall keep His statutes and His commandments which I am giving you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may live long on the land which the LORD your God is giving you for all time. (Deuteronomy 4: 40)
      A Genetic Memory Aid. God will help us to remember and love His commandments by changing our damaged genes. The repaired genes will have a memory aid that will also help us to live a long life.
• Korah Complains (Chapter 16). Some of the sons of Reuben and Levi complain about Moses' authority. Once again, jealousy made them criticize Moses and they rebelled against his authority even while the magnificent physical presence of God was in the camp and visibly affirmed Moses.
  Who Made You Lord and Master? Is it not enough that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey to have us die in the wilderness, but you would also lord it over us? (Numbers 16: 13)
  Jealousy also prompted the actions of the priests. They also asked Jesus where He got His authority.
  • Censers and Incense. They all came with the equipment of the high priest in a test to see who God would answer.
    Petition the Lord. Do this: take censers for yourselves, Korah and all your company, and put fire in them, and lay incense upon them in the presence of the LORD tomorrow; and the man whom the LORD chooses shall be the one who is holy. You have gone far enough, you sons of Levi!" (Numbers 16: 6-7)
  • The Test of The High Priest. The test of the true high priest is that God answers him, even working miracles on his behalf.
    A New Thing. Moses said, "By this you shall know that the LORD has sent me to do all these deeds; for this is not my doing. If these men die the death of all men or if they suffer the fate of all men, then the LORD has not sent me. But if the LORD brings about an entirely new thing and the ground opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that is theirs, and they descend alive into Sheol, then you will understand that these men have spurned the LORD." (Numbers 16: 28-30)
  • Swallowed by the Earth. They were swallowed by the first earthquake on the planet.
    Earthquake. As he finished speaking all these words, the ground that was under them split open; and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men who belonged to Korah with their possessions. So they and all that belonged to them went down alive to Sheol; and the earth closed over them, and they perished from the midst of the assembly. All Israel who were around them fled at their outcry, for they said, "The earth may swallow us up!" (Numbers 16: 31-34)
    
  • Fire From Heaven. They suffer the same fate as Sodom. He destroyed those whom He rejects.
    Burning the Wicked. Fire also came forth from the LORD and consumed the two hundred and fifty men who were offering the incense. (Numbers 16: 35)
  • Hammered. The offerings made to the Lord, our works, will be beaten and put in the fire and only the best will survive. The works of these unfaithful men were placed on the altar of sacrifice as a sign. It is the efforts of jealous priests that created the conditions for the sacrifice.
    Beaten Work. So Eleazar the priest took the bronze censers which the men who were burned had offered, and they hammered them out as a plating for the altar, as a reminder to the sons of Israel that no layman who is not of the descendants of Aaron should come near to burn incense before the LORD; so that he will not become like Korah and his company--just as the LORD had spoken to him through Moses. (Numbers 16: 39-40)
  So an earthquake and fire from heaven will punish those who disobey the High Priest or usurp His authority in any way. This is the fate of the political and religious coalition at the end of time.
• High Priest Chosen (Chapter 17). God acted to show that He had picked only one man as His high priest.
  God Chooses His High Priest. It will come about that the rod of the man whom I choose will sprout. Thus I will lessen from upon Myself the grumblings of the sons of Israel, who are grumbling against you." Now on the next day Moses went into the tent of the testimony; and behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi had sprouted and put forth buds and produced blossoms, and it bore ripe almonds. (Numbers 17: 5, 8)
  • The Rod With The Name. The contenders brought a rod with their name to the Lord.
    The Rod. Speak to the sons of Israel, and get from them a rod for each father's household: twelve rods, from all their leaders according to their fathers' households. You shall write each name on his rod, (Numbers 17: 2)
    The cross was the rod which the High Priest carried. His name and title were placed on the cross in three languages, "Jesus, King of the Jews".
  • Sprouting Rod: Buds, Blossoms and Almonds. The chosen high priest was the one whose dead stick came to life.
    The Rod of Aaron. Now on the next day Moses went into the tent of the testimony; and behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi had sprouted and put forth buds and produced blossoms, and it bore ripe almonds. (Numbers 17: 8)
    Jesus is also symbolically described as the Branch. When He died He became the dead stick on the cross. When He was resurrected, He became the Rod that sprouted to life.
• The Responsibilities and Rewards For the Priests (Chapter 18).
  The Guilt. ... You and your sons and your father's household shall bear the guilt in connection with the sanctuary, and you and your sons with you shall bear the guilt in connection with your priesthood. (Numbers 18: 1)
  Historically, the Jews have been punished for "killing Christ" even though the Romans are more responsible as the ruling power who did not find Him guilty, and they were the actual torturers and executioners. God prepared the nation in two ways for this unsavory role. First, He warned Abraham that his seed would be asked to kill the Messiah. Now, He warns the priests in symbols that they were given the task of managing the killing of the sacrifice and that they would bear some guilt in this regard.
  • Guilt of the Sanctuary. The sanctuary is the Plan of Salvation in the body of Jesus. The law and the covenant says that they would be involved in the killing of the sacrifice and tearing down the sanctuary.
  • Guilt of the Priesthood. However, they sinned to do this.
  
  » The Responsibility. The priests have an enormous responsibility and God made laws to protect them.
  • No Inheritance. They were to have no inheritance with Israel. They could only use what belonged to God. As part of this inheritance, each tribe was supposed to set aside land and cities for the priests to live in. This caused the priests to be scattered among the people.
    No Land. The Lord said to Aaron, "You shall have no inheritance in their land nor own any portion among them; I am your portion and your inheritance among the sons of Israel." (Numbers 18: 20)
  • Redemption. All firstborn belongs to them. However, their lives redeemed the firstborn of mankind.
    Firstborn. Every devoted thing in Israel shall be yours. Every first issue in the womb of all flesh, whether man or animal, which they offer to the Lord shall be yours; nevertheless, the firstborn of man you shall surely redeem, and the firstborn of unclean animals you shall redeem. (Numbers 18: 14-15)
  
  » The Rewards. They only have use of the property of God.
  • Offerings. They could eat the meat given for offerings.
    Meat. Their meat shall be yours; it shall be yours like the breast of a wave offering and like the right thigh. (Numbers 18: 18)
  • Tithe. They received the tithe of food and money and were required to pay tithe themselves.
    Grain and Fruit. Moreover you shall speak to the Levites and say to them, "When you take from the sons of Israel the tithe which I have given you from them as your inheritance, then you shall present an offering from it, a tithe of the tithe." (Numbers 18: 26)
  • The Best. The best part of the offering belongs to God and the rest belongs to the priests.
    The Rest of The Best. You shall say to them, "When you have offered from it the best of it, then the rest shall be reckoned to the Levites as the product of the threshing floor; and as the product of the wine vat." (Numbers 18: 30)
• The Red Heifer (Chapter 19).

  There were four coverings above the sanctuary, each seem to provide a layer of protection from the consequences of sin. The ram skin dyed red is like the heifer dyed red.
  
  » The Cure. The heifer is a female ox and this offering is unusual. Female goats are offered for unintentional sin and the female heifer cleanses from death.
  All offerings point ot Christ. When the offering is female, it points to Christ dying as the woman by submitting. Eve was guilty of unintentional sin and she was punished with submission.
  So whenever the offering is female, Christ must submit totally like a woman and He is paying for unintended consequences. Death was the unintended consequence of her sin. Satan had promised her eternal life as a deity. Instead, Eve received death and she was sentenced to submission instead of having others bow to her.
  • The Perfect Candidate. The perfect candidate represents Eve, a sinless woman without and defects or burden. When faced with an easy choice, Eve submitted. When faced with a difficult choice, the new Eve would rather die than sin.
    Preparing the Cure. This is the statute of the law which the LORD has commanded, saying, 'Speak to the sons of Israel that they bring you an unblemished red heifer in which is no defect and on which a yoke has never been placed. You shall give it to Eleazar the priest, and it shall be brought outside the camp and be slaughtered in his presence. Next Eleazar the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger and sprinkle some of its blood toward the front of the tent of meeting seven times. Then the heifer shall be burned in his sight; its hide and its flesh and its blood, with its refuse, shall be burned. (Numbers 19: 2-5)
    • Red Heifer. He was the ox from heaven who submitted like a woman and gave His blood.
    • No Defect. He was sinless.
    • No Yoke. The cross was a yoke on His neck, but Jesus was officially slaughtered in Gethsemane and roasted by the Sanhedrin before He wore the yoke.
    • Give to Eleazar. He was given to Caiaphas the high priest.
    • Slaughtered Outside the Camp. He died outside the city in the north.
    • Burnt in His Sight. The priests were at the trial and the crucifixion.
    • Hide, Flesh, Blood and Refuse. His body was disposed of on Calvary.
  • Burning Heifer. Jesus was the burning heifer before the priests sent Him to be beaten and nailed on the cross. In this phase of the procedure, He was given to Rome.
    Final Ingredients. The priest shall take cedar wood and hyssop and scarlet material and cast it into the midst of the burning heifer. (Numbers 19: 6)
    • Cedar Wood. The cross.
    • Hyssop. He was beaten with a rod which has multiple branches.
    • Scarlet Material. Red blood.
  • Wash Clothes and Bathe. Mary and others took His body, washed Him and wrapped Him in a clean cloth with spices.
    The Unclean Priest. The priest shall then wash his clothes and bathe his body in water, and afterward come into the camp, but the priest shall be unclean until evening. (Numbers 19: 7)
    After His death, He was given clean clothes and His life because He was found to be righteous. So He was resurrected in the morning and He returned to heaven in the evening as a clean Man.
  • Gathering The Ashes (Resurrection). Nicodemus was the clean man who gathered the body of Jesus and buried Him in a new grave outside the north gate of the city.
    The Clean Undertaker. Now a man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer and deposit them outside the camp in a clean place, and the congregation of the sons of Israel shall keep it as water to remove impurity; it is purification from sin. (Numbers 19: 9)
  
  » The Cleansing. The human race was sentenced to death. They could receive forgiveness of sin and atonement, but could the power of God erase death?
  • The Unclean. Sin makes us unclean and causes our death.
    The Contamination. The one who touches the corpse of any person shall be unclean for seven days. This is the law when a man dies in a tent: everyone who comes into the tent and everyone who is in the tent shall be unclean for seven days. Also, anyone who in the open field touches one who has been slain with a sword or who has died naturally, or a human bone or a grave, shall be unclean for seven days. (Numbers 19: 11, 14, 16)
    • Seven Days. They would be unclean for seven periods of time.
      Since Jesus was in contact with the dead while He was in the grave, He has a seven day period of isolation in heaven. While He was being cleansed of death, He was also fulfilling the seven days of inauguration as High Priest and the seven days of exile as a leper.
    • Dies in A Tent (Contaminated Property). He "died" in the Sanhedrin, surrounded by all those in attendance.
    • Dies in The Open Field (The Earth). He "died" by giving His life as the offering in Gethsemane.
      » Slain With A Sword (Death by a Curse). He was stabbed with a sword.
      » Natural Death (Death Without The Curse). He died of heart failure.
      » Human Bone (The Unburied). The sinners touched Him.
      » Grave (The Buried Dead). He was buried in a grave.
    This shows the scope of what must be cleansed on the planet. Everything is unclean and everything must be washed.
  • Applying The Cure. This is a cure for death.
    Ingredients For The Cure. Then for the unclean person they shall take some of the ashes of the burnt purification from sin and flowing water shall be added to them in a vessel. A clean person shall take hyssop and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it on the tent and on all the furnishings and on the persons who were there, and on the one who touched the bone or the one slain or the one dying naturally or the grave. (Numbers 19: 17-18)
    • Ashes and Flowing Water. The death of Christ for sin and the work of the Holy Spirit will cleanse us from sin and death.
    • The Vessel. Jesus Christ is the vessel with the blood and the flowing water and also the ashes and the flowing water.
    • Hyssop. We will be tested and purged through bitter hardships and trials.
    • Sprinkled. The Holy Spirit will come in a shower like rain.
  • The Schedule. It takes two sprinklings to cleanse the person or the object.
    Two Washings. Then the clean person shall sprinkle on the unclean on the third day and on the seventh day; and on the seventh day he shall purify him from uncleanness, and he shall wash his clothes and bathe himself in water and shall be clean by evening. (Numbers 19: 19)

    The scope of the two cleansings suggest that an entire nation was cleansed all at once. This is the promise of the general resurrection.
    • The Sacrifice. Jesus was the Lamb "slain from the foundation of the earth". So He was also the Heifer who was slain. On the third day or third millennium the nation of Israel was called.
    • Third Day (Blood For Sin). After three days and nights, Jesus has the two streams of blood and water to cleanse from sin and impurities. This period was part of a larger period of seven days called the Feast of Unleavened Bread where all traces of sin are removed. It is the Holy Spirit who washes away our desire to sin forever.
      » Third Millennium. The nation of Israel was washed in the Red Sea on their escape from Egypt.
      » Fourth Millennium. Jesus removes sin forever from human beings with the fountain of blood and water.
    • Seventh Day (Water For Impurities). The Holy Spirit came after seven weeks.
      » Seventh Millennium. The Holy Spirit comes at the end of time, at the beginning of the seventh millennium, to baptize the spiritual nation of Israel before we are raptured.
      » Eighth Millennium. All traces of sin are removed forever from the universe. The earth will be cleansed by fire and the second death will be abolished at the end of the seventh millennium.
    • Wash Clothes and Bathe. During the time between the crucifixion and the coming of the Holy Spirit and the Second Coming, we are washing our clothes and our minds and bodies as a symbol of perfection by becoming righteous.
    
    » Two Washings and Cleansings. This principle of two washings can be seen in several events with two related streams that begin with a burnt offering.
    • Blood and Water. These two streams flowed from His side while He was the burnt offering.
    • Ashes and Water. Two washings with this liquid from a burnt heifer cleanses from death.
    • Former and Latter Rain. The Holy Spirit comes with fire and energizes the church with gifts at the beginning and the end so that we can have a good harvest.
    • Water and Fire. The earth was cleansed with water at the flood and fire after the final judgment because it is filled with blood.
    Fire is present at all the cleansings so that there are actually three washings that cleanse.
    
    » The Mystery Of The Red Heifer. To the Jews this ritual is a mystery because it makes the pure impure and the impure pure. Once it is applied to Jesus Christ the mystery is resolved. We are unclean by sin and death.
    • The Pure. Jesus Christ, the Prince of the Covenant, is the Pure One from heaven who came to atone for our sins and remove the penalty of death. Our sins made Him impure because He became sin, causing Him to undergo a ritual to purify Himself.
    • The Impure. We are those dying in sin and covered in uncleanliness. The mercy and sacrifice of God made us clean again and gave us eternal life.
• Moses Strikes the Rock (Chapter 20).

  The exodus began with three great leaders who were prophets. It ends with the punishment of all of them.
  Almost Home. Then the sons of Israel, the whole congregation, came to the wilderness of Zin in the first month; and the people stayed at Kadesh. Now Miriam died there and was buried there. (Numbers 20: 1)
  • Miriam Dies (Israel Rejected). Since a woman is a symbol of the church or the bride of Christ, Miriam represents Israel. She did not make it into the Promised Land because she criticized Moses and his wife and she was punished with leprosy and a seven day exile. Here we see that she is also barred from entering the Promised Land.
    Since Miriam dies, then Israel dies without crossing over victoriously with Jesus Christ.
  • Moses Sins. At the beginning of the exodus, Moses struck the Rock to release water. Almost forty years later, Moses is supposed to speak to the Rock so that water could be released. Instead, He sinned and struck the Rock again.
    • No Water. There was no water for the congregation, and they assembled themselves against Moses and Aaron. (Numbers 20: 2)
      We were dying in sin and the Holy Spirit had not been poured out in great measure to cleanse us.
    • Speak To The Rock. Take the rod; and you and your brother Aaron assemble the congregation and speak to the rock before their eyes, that it may yield its water. You shall thus bring forth water for them out of the rock and let the congregation and their beasts drink. (Numbers 20: 8)
      This time Moses was supposed to speak to the Rock because Jesus must be struck only once or die once for sin. Then we speak to Him in prayer to obtain forgiveness of sin and the cleansing of the Holy Spirit.
    • Moses Struck the Rock Twice. and Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly before the rock. And he said to them, "Listen now, you rebels; shall we bring forth water for you out of this rock?" Then Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came forth abundantly, and the congregation and their beasts drank. (Numbers 20: 10-11)
      It was the constant nagging and complaining of an ungrateful people that drove Moses to sin in anger.
    • Unbelief and Disrespect. But the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, "Because you have not believed Me, to treat Me as holy in the sight of the sons of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them. (Numbers 20: 12)
      The High Priest was treated badly. Jesus was treated badly by Caiaphas and Annanias.
      • Unbelief. They did not believe that He was the Messiah or the Son of God.
      • Treated Badly. He was severely beaten, mocked, spit upon and cursed.
      • Holy. They treated Him like a leper.
      • Speak To Me. They did not speak to Him with respect. They quarreled with Him.
      • Assembly. So Israel will not bring the assembly into the Promised Land. The Gentiles will.
    • Quarrel. Those were the waters of Meribah, because the sons of Israel contended with the LORD, and He proved Himself holy among them. (Numbers 20: 13)
      The people quarreled with the Lord Jesus Christ and He proved Himself holy by remaining faithful and granting them mercy and forgiveness of their sins.
    Like Moses, they struck Him many times, but He still gave us the Holy Spirit.
    Like Moses, Jesus died before entering the Promised Land in heaven because of the people.
  • Edom. The Edomites were the descendants of Esau. They occupied the land and would not let Israel pass through peacefully. The house of Herod are also Edomites who are now occupying the land of Israel, ruling as kings. Herod would not let Jesus pass through although He found Him innocent.
    • Angel of The Lord. But when we cried out to the LORD, He heard our voice and sent an angel and brought us out from Egypt; now behold, we are at Kadesh, a town on the edge of your territory. (Numbers 20: 16)
      An angel guided Jesus in Gethsemane.
    • Give Us Safe Passage. Please let us pass through your land. We will not pass through field or through vineyard; we will not even drink water from a well. We will go along the king's highway, not turning to the right or left, until we pass through your territory.' (Numbers 20: 17)
    • Justice Denied. Edom, however, said to him, "You shall not pass through us, or I will come out with the sword against you." (Numbers 20: 18)
      Herod mocked Him and His soldiers pierced Him with a sword.
    • On My Feet. Again, the sons of Israel said to him, "We will go up by the highway, and if I and my livestock do drink any of your water, then I will pay its price. Let me only pass through on my feet, nothing else." (Numbers 20: 19)
      Jesus walked on the road to Golgotha with His cross, passing by the palaces and the people as the donkey, the Lamb and the weary traveler. He did not stop to drink water. He drank vinegar.
    • War. But he said, "You shall not pass through." And Edom came out against him with a heavy force and with a strong hand. Thus Edom refused to allow Israel to pass through his territory; so Israel turned away from him. (Numbers 20: 20-21)
      The House of Herod came against Jesus.
  • Aaron Dies. Aaron was a weak and rebellious priest like Caiaphas, catering to the popular demand.
    The Rebellious Priest. Aaron will be gathered to his people; for he shall not enter the land which I have given to the sons of Israel, because you rebelled against My command at the waters of Meribah. (Numbers 20: 24)
    Stripped of Garments. So Moses did just as the LORD had commanded, and they went up to Mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation. After Moses had stripped Aaron of his garments and put them on his son Eleazar, Aaron died there on the mountain top. Then Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain. (Numbers 20: 27-28)
    Jesus was also stripped naked and died. Caiaphas tore his own garments, a sin that was forbidden.
    Torn Garments. Then the high priest tore his robes and said, "He has blasphemed! What further need do we have of witnesses? Behold, you have heard the blasphemy." (Matthew 26: 65)
    Torn Garments Forbidden. Then Moses said to Aaron and to his sons Eleazar and Ithmar saying, "Do not uncover your heads nor tear your clothes so that you will not die and that He will not become wrathful against all the congregation". (Leviticus 10: 6)
    Now a rebellious priest would lose the priesthood forever. The Levitical priesthood dies because a new order of priests has begun in Jesus Christ.
• Trials in The Wilderness (Chapter 21). On the final phase of the journey they encounter many tests that prophecy about Jesus on the cross.
  • Fiery Serpent. The people complain again and God sent serpents to bite them.
    We Are Tired of This Miserable Manna. You Eat It! The people spoke against God and Moses, "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this miserable food.
    Fiery Serpents. The LORD sent fiery serpents among the people and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died.
    The Serpent On A Stick. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, he will live. (Numbers 21: 5-6, 8)
    The Serpent On A Cross. As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up. (John 3: 14)
    It is the rejected Man, the one they treated as an evil serpent who will heal them when He is lifted up on the cross.
  • The Leaders Dig a Well. Since the Jewish religious leaders were responsible for giving Him over to be crucified, they shared the responsibility for His wounds. The secular leaders all sent Him to death although they found Him innocent, so they are all responsible for His death.
    They all crucified Him, so they all dug the hole in His hands and feet and in His side from which a spring of blood and water flowed.
    A Special Well. From there they continued to Beer, that is the well where the LORD said to Moses, "Assemble the people, that I may give them water. Then Israel sang this song:

    "Spring up, O well! Sing to it!
    The well, which the leaders sank,
    Which the nobles of the people dug,
    With the scepter and with their staffs."

    And from the wilderness they continued to Mattanah. (Numbers 21: 16-18)
  • Defeated Sihon The King of The Amorites. He defeated all the principalities and powers and took the land they occupied.
    Help The Stranger. Let me pass through your land. We will not turn off into field or vineyard; we will not drink water from wells. We will go by the king's highway until we have passed through your border.
    Unkind. But Sihon would not permit Israel to pass through his border So Sihon gathered all his people and went out against Israel in the wilderness, and came to Jahaz and fought against Israel.
    War. Then Israel struck him with the edge of the sword, and took possession of his land from the Arnon to the Jabbok, as far as the sons of Ammon; for the border of the sons of Ammon was Jazer. (Numbers 21: 22-24)
    He was the weary stranger from heaven to whom they were unkind and with whom they made war.
  • Defeated Og The King of Bashan. He defeated the forces of evil on the cross.
    The Army of Bashan. Then they turned and went up by the way of Bashan, and Og the king of Bashan went out with all his people, for battle at Edrei. So they killed him and his sons and all his people, until there was no remnant left him; and they possessed his land. (Numbers 21: 33, 35)
    
    Another Messianic prophecy spoke of this battle.
    The Bulls of Bashan. Many bulls have surrounded me; Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me. They open wide their mouth at me, as a ravening and a roaring lion. For dogs have surrounded me; A band of evildoers has encompassed me; They pierced my hands and my feet. (Psalm 22: 12, 13, 16)

Destroying The Enemies
All the people in the region were afraid of Israel, but instead of making peace and treating Israel kindly, they made themselves enemies of Israel.

• Balaam and Balak (Chapter 22-24). These enemies tried to curse Israel and wish evil for them.
  • The Divination Fees. The leaders of Moab used fees to get the wicked prophet to curse Israel.
    Bribes and Curses. So the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the fees for divination in their hand; and they came to Balaam and repeated Balak's word to him. (Numbers 22: 7)
    The leaders of Israel also used fees as bribes to get the wicked prophet Judas to sell his friend so that He suffered all the curses in the law.
  • The Talking Donkey. Jesus was the donkey who talked on the road as He carried the cross.
  • The Burdened Donkey. Jesus was the donkey who carried our burden of sins.
  • The Beaten Donkey. Jesus was the donkey whom the Romans beat mercilessly.
  • The Angel With The Sword. An angel met Him in Gethsemane to guide Him to the narrow road on which there was no way to turn back.
    • Angel in The Open Field. He saw the angel in Gethsemane.
    • Angel in The in the Narrow Path. He was carrying the cross between two walls of people.
    • Angel in a Confined Space. He was nailed to the cross and could not turn back or turn around.
  • The Path. This is the road to Golgotha and the crucifixion.
  • The Messianic Prophecy. Unable to curse Israel, Balaam blessed them and gave a significant prophecy about the two comings of the Messiah who was in the distant future.
    Messiah. I see him but not now; I behold him but not near. A star shall come forth from Jacob, a scepter shall rise from Israel, and shall crush through the forehead of Moab, and tear down all the sons of Sheth. (Numbers 24: 17)
    • The Star (Priest). He saw the Messiah coming as a star out of Jacob (unconverted Israel).
    • The Scepter (King). He saw the Messiah coming with a scepter out of Israel (converted Israel).
• Midian and Moab (Chapter 25). These enemies tried to corrupt them and were the most dangerous.
  • Worshipping Baal of Peor. The people invited them to worship their gods.
    Idolatry. While Israel remained at Shittim, the people began to play the harlot with the daughters of Moab. For they invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods. So Israel joined themselves to Baal of Peor, and the Lord was angry against Israel. (Numbers 25: 2-3)
  • Cozbi. While God's anger was against them, and the people were weeping in repentance, one man openly took one of these heathen women in his tent.
    Fornication. Then behold, one of the sons of Israel came and brought to his relatives a Midianite woman, in the sight of Moses and in the sight of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, while they were weeping at the doorway of the tent of meeting. (Numbers 25: 6)
  • Atonement. A man of God stopped the evil by impaling the man and woman, and that stopped the plague.
    Plague Stopped. When Phineas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest saw it, he arose from the midst of the congregation and took a spear in his hand, and he went after the man of Israel into the tent and pierced both of them through, the man of Israel and the woman, through the body. So the plague on the sons of Israel was checked. (Numbers 25: 7-8)
    Jesus stopped the plague and the wrath of God by being impaled for us.
  • Reward. As a reward, God made them priests forever and they became a model for Jesus.
    The Covenant of Peace. Phineas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned away My wrath from the sons of Israel in that hew was jealous with My jealousy among them, so that I did not destroy the sons of Israel in My jealousy. Therefore say, "Behold, I give him My covenant of peace; and it shall be for him and his descendants after him, a covenant of a perpetual priesthood, because he was jealous for his God and made atonement for the sons of Israel." (Numbers 25: 11-13)
    God made a covenant of peace with Christ and made Him priest forever under the order of Melchizedek. So how can God keep His promise to Levi and to Phineas when He made the line of Jesus the perpetual priest?
    Under the new covenant, the entire planet becomes a race of priests under the order of Melchizedek. Therefore all Levites will be priests forever but under this new order.
  • Deception. Deception is a form of hostility and deserves the wrath of God. Revenge with extreme hostility will be taken on all who deceive the innocent or the children of God.
    Hostility. Be hostile to the Midianites and strike them; for they have been hostile to you with their tricks, with which they deceived you in the affair of Peor and in the affair of Cozbi, the daughter of the leader of Midian, their sister who was slain on the day of the plague because of Peor. (Numbers 25: 17-18)
• Census of the Final Generation (Chapter 26). The first generation of numbered men over twenty years old had died. Now that they are on the borders of the Promised Land, the tribes must be numbered again because the distribution of the initial inheritance depends on the size of the group.
  Final Census. Take a census of all the congregation of the sons of Israel from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers' households, whoever is able to go to war in Israel. Among these the land will be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names. But the land shall be divided by lot. They shall receive their inheritance according to the names of the tribes of their fathers. According to the selection by lot, their inheritance shall be divided between the larger and smaller groups. (Numbers 26: 2, 53, 55-56)
• An Inheritance (Chapter 27). All the men had been numbered for an inheritance and a few more decisions needed to be established during the transition.
  • Women Inherit. All the rebellious people had died. For some serious rebellion the whole family was killed so that there was none to enter the Promised Land. It was the children of this first generation who were renumbered to establish the size of the land that would be distributed. This initial count was important because the tribe and family boundaries would be set forever.
    There was one family whose father had died, but had no male relatives to inherit. All the other families whose original numbered male was dead had a male to inherit. This seemed unfair so the laws of inheritance recognized women.
    Daughter. Further, you shall speak to the sons of Israel, saying, "If a man dies and has no son, then you shall transfer his inheritance to his daughter." (Numbers 27: 8)
    This obscure rule is important, because, in the execution of the plan of salvation, the only Son and male heir died and only the daughter remained. So we, Israel, inherit according to the will and according to the rule of law.
  • Moses Inherits Heaven. Moses could not enter the land but he went to a high mountain so that he could see the land.
    See the Land. Then the Lord said to Moses, "Go up to this mountain of Abarim, and see the land which I have given to the sons of Israel. When you have seen it, you too will be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother was." (Numbers 27: 12-13)
    Moses needed to be punished publicaly so that a nation which was prone to use any excuse for rebellion could see that nobody was too special to be excused. Moses suffered the same fate as all the rebellious people from the first census. He died before entering the Promised Land.
    However, God is not unjust. He knows that the burden of the people triggered Moses' outburst. So, like Abraham, Moses saw the Promised Land before he died. However, He was soon resurrected and taken to a better Promised Land in heaven. So God gave Him a better reward in private, while He taught a much needed lesson in public and was able to fairly deliver justice.
    Moses was a type of Jesus. He was a high priest who was punished because of the sins of the people. He died and was resurrected to heaven.
    
  • Joshua Inherits The Leadership. Joshua is formally made the new leader in front of the entire congregation.
    Joshua Commissioned. So the Lord said to Moses, "Take Joshua, the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him; and have him stand before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation, and commission him in their sight. You shall put some of your authority on him in order that all the congregation of the sons of Israel may obey him." (Numbers 27: 18-20)
    After the resurrection, Jesus (Yeshua) was commissioned to be the next leader and savior to take us to the Promised Land in heaven.
• Feasts (Chapter 28-29). The offering has formally been made and it was presented in heaven for seven days. Jesus is our High Priest and King. This fact is acknowledged by the principalities and powers in heaven.
  • Daily. Jesus is now formally our permanent High Priest who intercedes for us daily.
  • Sabbath. Jesus gave us rest from sin.
  • New Moon. The moon is a symbol of the church. Now it is time to begin with a new phase of the church when the Gentiles take over the leadership as priests.
  • Pesach (Passover). Jesus died as the Passover Lamb to save us from the death angel.
  • Feast of Unleavened Bread. Jesus is removing all traces of our sins.
  • First Fruits. He brought the people who were resurrected with Him as the first fruits from the dead earth.
    The New Church. Also on the day of the first fruits, when you present a new grain offering to the Lord in your feast of weeks, you shall have a holy convocation, you shall do no laborious work. (Numbers 28: 26)
    At Pentecost He brought the first fruits as the nucleus of a new church when 3000 Jews were converted.
  • Shavu'ot (Pentecost). He sent the Holy Spirit to fulfill the covenant to remove sin.
  • Feast of Trumpets. The trumpets are a sign of several things, one is that the camp should get ready to move out. The church has been on an exodus with Christ in the lead and we are now wandering in the wilderness.
  • Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). God has removed our sins and He has formally begun to blame Satan.
  • Feast of Tabernacles. The Holy Spirit came to live with us as a sign that in the future we will be physically living with God forever. He is the pillar of cloud and fire over us in our journey to the Second Coming.
  • Shemini Atzeret. This is the day we will start over when all traces of sin are gone forever.
• Vows (Chapter 30). Christ made a difficult vow to come to earth and pay our debts by dying for our sins so that He could free us from the obligation to which Adam and Eve have subjected their children.
  • Male Vow. His vow must not be broken.
    Unbreakable. If a man makes a vow to the Lord or takes an oath to bind himself with a binding obligation, he shall not violate his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth. (Numbers 30: 2)
  • Female Vow. These vows can be annulled by the male in charge of her. The father or husband may allow or break the vow if he breaks the vow on the day he hears about it.
    A Second Opinion. Every vow or every binding oath to humble herself, her husband may confirm it or her husband may annul it. (Numbers 30: 13)
    » Unmarried Woman. Her father may annul the vow.
    » Married Woman. Her husband may annul the vow.
    » Widow or Divorcee. Her vow must not be broken.
    Unbreakable. But the vow of a widow or of a divorced woman, everything by which she has bound herself, shall stand against her. (Numbers 30: 9)
    
    » Adam Confirms The Vows of Eve. When Adam ate the fruit on the same day his wife gave it to him, he was confirming all that she obligated herself to do when she obeyed the snake.
    Shared Responsibility. But if her husband indeed says nothing to her from day to day, then he confirms all her vows or all her obligations which are on her; he has confirmed them, because he said nothing to her on the day he heard them. But if he indeed annuls them after he has heard them, then he shall bear her guilt. (Numbers 30: 14-15)
    So Adam bears her guilt not only because He agreed with her by his act of eating the fruit, but in confirming the agreement he intentionally sinned.

  The Plan of Salvation reenacted the choices of Adam and Eve.
  The Plan sees the world as an attempt to rescue the woman who is being lured by her lusts into the hands of a slave owner. If we can save this virgin woman, then all her children will be saved. If her husband behaves responsibly then he can rescue her and Satan never gets a legal foothold on this planet.
  So, the most important part of the Plan of Salvation is to find the one man who would be a responsible husband before we reenact the events that trapped Eve.
  We start with the fall of Eve because Satan was first guilty of deceiving and corrupting her so that she sinned unintentionally and was kidnapped into slavery. This act already makes Satan guilty of corrupting the innocent. If we start with the sin of Adam, then we are legally on less secure ground because Adam sinned intentionally and sold us into slavery.
  So the plan is to find a new Adam and then replay the fall from the beginning with the corruption of the woman.
  • God Vows to Send A Faithful Man. The Plan began when God promised a Son who would save the woman.
  • The Man Refuses The Forbidden Food. When Jesus Christ began His ministry, He refused to eat any food offered by Satan and passed the test that Eve failed. Though hungry after fasting for 40 days, He did not turn stone into bread. His actions saved Him but it did not free the woman, Israel.
  • The Forbidden Fruit. In the garden of Eden, the forbidden fruit was a real fruit. After sin, when the curses were agreed upon between God and Satan, the forbidden food was cannibalism. One is fruit of a forbidden tree, the other is not. The worst form of cannibalism would be to eat the fruit of the womb, specifically your own child. So Jesus had to offer Himself as the child who was the main course in a forbidden meal to be served by Satan.
  • The Woman Eats. On a special Passover, God hosted a feast for the woman named Israel.
    In this reenactment of the events that caused the woman to fall, the forbidden fruit is cannibalism. Since cannibalism is sin, Jesus traded bread and wine for flesh and blood because God could never agree to make it a law that people must follow or submit to a law that caused them to sin. He provided a substitute. However, Satan can try to make the people cannibalize Him.
    On the day of the Seder Israel actually ate the meal that God had provided. Jesus was her Son, so the woman ate her Son that day, if only in symbol when she reenacted the motions of eating on her Son as Satan wanted. Israel chewed, generated saliva and swallowed her Son, by gnashing at Him with her teeth by mocking Him and quarreling with Him, chewing on Him by cursing Him, spitting on Him and allowing Him to be swallowed by the grave.
  • The Man Annuls Her Vows. According to the rules, the man can annul her vows on the same day. Even if Satan had succeeded in forging an agreement with the woman that day, her Husband and Father annulled her vows and the pact she unwittingly made with Satan. So, on several levels Satan failed to corrupt Israel.
    • Seder (Bread and Grape Juice). Israel ate the Passover Seder, not human flesh and blood. The seder was not forbidden food, because God established this in a law.
    • A Faithful Husband. Jesus annulled her vows and forgave them that day.
    • A Faithful Father. God annulled her vows because we are bethrothed to Christ. As the Father of the special Son who was part of the human race, God had the rights to annul the vow that He did not have with Adam and Eve because Eve was married.
    The marriage rules places the woman in a unique position. From the moment the marriage covenant is made, she is legally married but still living in her Father's house because the wedding and consummation of the marriage is still future. Jesus became bethrothed to Israel when He ratified the new covenant at the Passover seder.
    During the millennium all our vows are anulled and at the end of the millennium the old covenant expires. God our father and Christ our husband were able to annul our vows. Satan may claim the rights as our "Lord" to whom Eve made a vow. As our Father, God confronted her that day and anulled the vow, promising a redeemer. As He was dying the Redeemer, who is our true Lord and master, asked the Father to forgive us because we do not know what we are doing.
  
  Christ fulfilled the difficult vow that would destroy sin and death and Hell. Therefore, in this reenactment, we can never be seen as cannibals. The bread can never be real flesh and the wine can never be real blood, otherwise we will be eating forbidden fruit again.
  A Vow of Enmity and Hostility. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise him on the heel. (Genesis 3: 15)
  He destroyed the house of Satan and all the principalities and powers that were aligned against us. He could only do this by subjecting Himself to the most humiliating and painful death that Satan could engineer.
• Vengeance on Midian (Chapter 31). Moses had one final task before He could die. The story sounds cruel and bloodthirsty until you understand them through the symbols of prophecy.
  Revenge. Take full vengeance for the sons of Israel on the Midianites; afterward you will be gathered to your people. (Numbers 31: 2)
  • Save The Women and Children. The church is pictured as either a woman who is a mother or an engaged woman or as a child. It is only the Messiah that is the male in the plan of salvation. As such, the law assumes that He is perfect in love and wisdom and understanding and that He cares for the woman and His children.
    Kill The Guilty. So they made war against Midian, just as the Lord had commanded Moses, and they killed every male.
    Save The Innocent. The sons of Israel captured the women of Midian and their little ones; and all their cattle and all their flocks and all their goods they plundered. (Numbers 31: 7, 9)
  • Save The Virgins. However, not all women are innocent. It was the prostituting women who helped the men and the false prophets to lure Israel into sin.
    Kill The Whores! And Moses said to them, "Have you spared all the women?" Behold, these caused the sons of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to trespass against the Lord in the matter of Peor, so the plague was among the congregation of the Lord. (Numbers 31: 15-16)
    Save the Innocent Virgins. Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately. But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves. (Numbers 31: 17-18)
  • Save The Gold. This fact seems even more heartless until you learn that God is waiting for people with characters as valuable and resilient as gold tried in the fire.
    Fire and Water. only the gold and the silver, the bronze, the iron, the tin and the lead, everything that can stand the fire, you shall pass through the fire, and it shall be clean, but it shall be purified with water for impurity. But whatever cannot stand the fire you shall pass through the water. (Numbers 31: 23)
  So Israel is the golden virgin whom Christ rescued and will make His bride. In the end, the church will pass through the fires of persecution and the fires of the testing of God. She will be washed clean by the waters of the Holy Spirit before she is dressed in white to receive her husband on their wedding day.

On The Borders of The Promised Land

• Inheritance for The Eastern Tribes (Chapter 32). The tribes of Reuben and Gad had a lot of livestock, so they asked to have the land on the eastern border of the Jordan. It was finally decided that two and a half tribes could occupy that land as long as the men of war went with the other tribes until they had conquered the land west of the river.
  Assisting Our Brothers. We will not return to our homes until every one of the sons of Israel has possessed his inheritance. Build yourselves cities for your little ones, and sheepfolds for your sheep, and do what you have promised." Our little ones, our wives, our livestock and all our cattle shall remain there in the cities of Gilead; while your servants, everyone who is armed for war, will cross over in the presence of the LORD to battle, just as my lord says."
  So Moses gave to them, to the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben and to the half-tribe of Joseph's son Manasseh, the kingdom of Sihon, king of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og, the king of Bashan, the land with its cities with their territories, the cities of the surrounding land. (Numbers 32: 18, 24, 26, 27, 33)
  » Waiting In The East. The tribes east of the Jordan represent those who have not crossed over the river and begin at the crucifixion. The tribes in the west represent those at the end of time.
  • Reuben (Afflicted Firstborn). The firstborn of the first generation who lost preeminence is Israel during the time of Jesus Christ. They are waiting to cross over.
  • Gad (Raider). At the Second Coming, Jesus is symbolized as the raider coming from the east to gather His people.
  • Manasseh (Half Tribe). The firstborn of the second generation who will be alive at the end of time to cross over to the west when they recognize Jesus Christ as the Messiah. In the west they will meet the other half of the children of God.
  • Men of War. Their oath suggests that those from the time of Christ will assist the church at the end of time. We have their written testimony and the testimony since Moses. So at the end of time we will use the valuable resources of our ancestors to assist us in the war to rid the planet of the influence and presence of Satan.
• The 42 Journeys of Israel (Chapter 33). Although they stopped at more places along the way, Moses chose to list only forty two starting places.
  Starting Points. Moses recorded their starting places according to their journeys by the command of the Lord, and these are they journeys according to their starting places. (Numbers 33: 2)

  Other rebellion

  • Passover Exodus. Their journey began at Passover after the Lord defeated the Egyptians and all the false gods that were His enemies.
    All Enemies Defeated. They journeyed from Ramses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the next day after the Passover the sons of Israel started out boldly in the sight of the Egyptians,
    Struck Egypt. While the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn whom the Lord had struck down among them.
    Struck False Gods. The Lord had also executed judgments on their gods. (Numbers 33: 3-4)
    Jesus also defeated Satan and all the principalities and powers at Passover when He began His exodus back to heaven.
    Triumph! and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority.
    When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him. (Colossians 2: 10, 15)
  • Feast of Booths (Succos). At the first Passover we find the first feast of booths (tabernacles). It did not occur in the seventh month but in the first month. Succos is a place where they live in temporary shelters under the protection of God during the exodus.
    Succoth. The sons of Israel journeyed from Ramses and camped in Succoth. (Numbers 33: 5)
    While we are living in temporary shelters on earth Jesus has gone to heaven to prepare permanent residences for us.
  • Shavu'ot (Pentecost). The outpouring of the Holy Spirit comes in two great events. The first time it was poured out on the twelve tribes of Israel. At the end of time it will be poured out on all the nations.
    The Nations. They journeyed from Marah and came to Elim; and in Elim there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees, and they camped there. (Numbers 33: 9)
    • Twelve Springs. The twelve tribes of Israel are the source of the Holy Spirit.
    • Seventy Palm Trees. The Bible represents the number of nations as seventy and palm trees are mostly used in the feast of tabernacles. So at the end of time, when we are waiting for God during the feast of Tabernacles, the seventy nations will be camping with the twelve tribes.
  • Smashing Idolatry. In the first two days of His final week, Jesus took whips and drove the money changers out of the temple and incurred the wrath of the priests.
    Driving Out The Wicked. Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, "when you cross over the Jordan into the land of Canaan, then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their figured stones, and destroy all their molten images and demolish all their high places." (Numbers 33: 51-52)
    » Pricks and Thorns (Swords and Crowns). However, Jesus did not drive out all the evil men and they became a crown of thorns in His eyes and the prick of a sword in His side.
    Pricks and Thorns. But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then it shall come about that those whom you let remain of them will become pricks in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they will trouble you in the land which you live. (Numbers 33: 55)
  
  » The Journey Ends. Forty two is the symbolic time for punishing the wicked and Israel quarreled with God for forty years. If we assume that every nation that occupied or drove Israel out of their land represents another starting point in their journey, then there are seven more journeys until we cross the Sea of Glass and cross over into the Promised Land and the New Jerusalem. These seven nations are the seven heads of the dragon which persecutes the people until the end of time.
• The Borders and The Inheritance (Chapter 34). For the other nine and a half tribes, this is their borders.
  • South Border. The brook of Egypt.
  • East Border. Jordan river, the Salt sea and the Sea of Galilee (Chinnereth).
  • West Border. The Great Sea.
  • North Border. The Great Sea to Mount Hor.
  The western and southern borders are complete. However, notice that these borders are smaller than the promise made to Abraham that their territory will reach to the Euphrates (Genesis 15: 18). It is the northern territory that is still occupied by the enemy.
  This is also a legal and symbolic basis for the region of the north as being the last place of our battle with the kings of the north.
• Cities for the Levites (Chapter 35). God provided for the Levites and those who unintentionally sinned. Since they had no inheritance, God provided a system for them to live among the tribes.
  A Refuge For All People. These six cities shall be for refuge for the sons of Israel, and for the alien and for the sojourner among them; that anyone who kills a person unintentionally may flee there. (Numbers 35: 15)
  • 48 Cities. The Levites had 48 cities with surrounding pasture land about half a mile wide.
  • Six Cities of Refuge. Six of the cities were cities of refuge for the person who is fleeing from a charge of unintentional murder. The lesson is that we will find refuge among the priests and that as long as the high priest is alive we will be safe.
    » The Seventh City of Refuge. Since Jesus Christ is the indestructible High Priest, we always have an advocate and we will be safe forever. The implication is that the seventh city of refuge is not on earth, but it is the New Jerusalem in heaven.
  • The Blood Avenger. The avenger is a blood relative who has the right of revenge to take life for life. The congregation also makes this life or death decision in the case of an apparent unintentional murder.
    Waiting for Trial. The cities shall be to you as a refuge from the avenger, so that the manslayer will not die until he stands before the congregation for trial. (Numbers 35: 12)
    This system of justice is seen in the final judgment at the end of time. Jesus is the judge and our blood avenger and we will be involved in the judgment of the wicked.
  
  » Murder. There is no room in the city of refuge for the one who recklessly or willfully causes death. Satan will never find refuge because he plotted to kill an entire planet. So God was born as one of us to become our blood relative and legal blood avenger.
  • Intentional Death. They plotted to murder Him. The use of certain implements in a killing show intent or reckless disregard. If you use an object that can do serious damage, no matter what you think is your intent it is murder.
    • Iron. Rome is the iron kingdom that killed Him and drove a spear through His side.
    • Stone. They crushed Him and hurled stinging insults at Him like stones.
    • Wood. They nailed Him to wood.
    • Hatred or Enmity. They hated Him.
  • Unintentional Death. The killer will be judged by the congregation.
    Accident. But if he pushed him suddenly without enmity, or threw something at him without lying in wait, or with any deadly object of stone, and without seeing it dropped on him so that he died, while he was not his enemy nor seeking his injury, then the congregation shall judge between the slayer and the blood avenger according to these ordinances. (Numbers 35: 22-24)
    During the millennium we will also be judging the wicked angels and the people who did not make it to heaven.
    
    » The Verdict Of The Congregation. The congregation did not deliver the innocent man. Instead the congregation released a man slayer named Barabbas and decided that Jesus should be crucified.
    Not Guilty. The congregation shall deliver the manslayer from the hand of the blood avenger, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge to which he fled; and he shall live in it until the death of the high priest who was anointed with the holy oil. (Numbers 35: 25)
    However, God found Him innocent and let Him escape to the city of refuge in heaven.
  » The Second Coming. Jesus comes as our blood avenger and He intentionally executes the wicked in the same way that they killed us.
  • Iron. He rules with a rod of iron.
  • Stone. He is the Rock that smashed the earth.
  • Wood. He defeated sin and death on a wooden cross.
  • Hatred or Enmity. The execution is in vengeance with hatred and enmity.
• Female Inheritance and Marriage (Chapter 36). Earlier, God made a rule that allowed women to inherit. Now, the concern is that a tribe's inheritance could be transferred to another tribe with the existing rules.
  • Solution. Women must marry in the family or the inheritance will go to another tribe at the Jubilee
    All In The Family. This is what the Lord has commanded concerning the daughters of Zelophedad, saying, "Let them marry whom they wish; only they must marry within the family of the tribe of their father." Thus no inheritance of the sons of Israel shall be transferred from tribe to tribe, for the sons of Israel shall each hold to the inheritance of the tribes of his fathers. (Numbers 36: 6-7)
  The law is quite clear about the intention of making these rules of succession a male dominated system. This has nothing to do with unfairness or male superiority. It has everything to do with not providing a legal way for Satan to make a claim on the earth. With this law Satan could not possibly gain possession of the planet legally by corrupting the woman.
  
  By corrupting the man, he could only get us temporarily through debt bondage or being born as a son of man and inherit as a son. However he did not have the power of incarnation to become a son with the rights of inheritance.
  Being male Satan could not marry the male and inherit through marriage because homosexual unions were forbidden. The marriage would not be recognized by the universe.
  
  » The Desire of Women (A Husband and A Son). Jesus Christ used the power of incarnation to be a legal human male heir. Then as a grown male He could marry the woman. So Jesus could both inherit as a Son of man and as a husband to the woman who owns the property. If He died forever, then His inheritance would go to His closest male heir, which was His Father, God. So God wins on every level.
  So the church must marry Christ to save her inheritance and keep it in the family of humans.
